A Image Alignment Algorithm for an OCR System and its Hardware Implementation (OCR 시스템을 위한 화상 정렬 알고리즘과 고속 하드웨어 구현)

  • This paper presents a hardware for image alignment based on proposed new algorithm which can align a small misaligned document image simply by one transformation with a parallel shifting of pixels. This hardware is simulated with VHDL and estimated to be about 65 ms to align an image made up of 380 by 480 pixels. Also, we will demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed image alignment algorithm in OCR system by comparing its characteristics with those of the existing image rotation algorithms.

  • Data Alignment is achieved when all trading partners information systems are maintained automatically synchronising with the suppliers information systems on a continuing basis. Electronic catalogues facilitate the ongoing synchronisation of data between trading partners and large retailers in United States and Canada use electronic catalog in order to get rid of non-value added paperwork and manual reconciliation. Data Alignment will dramatically improve the effectiveness of E-Commerce and Supply Chain initiatives including electronic Marketplaces, Collaborative Planning and Forecasting and continuous replenishment processes.

  • We successfully developed new photo-alignment materials which can be treated with linearly polarized UV (LPUV) light in near UV region. The alignment films were also shown to provide with surface anchoring as strong as that on rubbed polyimide when exposed to the LPUV light with warming up the substrate. It can be also able to control pretilt angle by introduction of alkyl side chain.

  • We have investigated the effect of molecular structure of polymer of rubbed polyimide (PI) films for surface liquid crystal alignment. To obtain surface alignment effect of Polymer molecular structure, we measured the polar (out of plane-tilt) anchoring strength and surface ordering of 5CB on rubbed PI surfaces. We have found that the polar anchoring strength of 5CB is depend on the polymer molecular structure of these unidirectionally rubbed PI surfaces.

  • In this paper, we present a Multiheading Method for INS initial. The system is not observable for initial alignment however using pseudo tilt angles and pseudo sensor errors become observable. We suggest a new Multiple Method to find the real sensor errors by using the converted system dynamics. The results show that we can find the sensor errors very accurately by the proposed method.

  • The current flat type side slip tester measures only the total side slip. Therefore, measurement techniques which can be used to determine the side slip for each alignment element were examined. Because the side slip related to the camber angle varies depending on the unit load per travel wheel while the side slip related to the toe angle does not on the unit per travel wheel, but depends only on the direction of the tire, the side slip for each alignment element can be determined separately.

  • Self-alignment for the fabrication of printed thin film transistors has become of great interest because of the resolution and registration limits of printing technologies. In this work, self-patterning and selfregistration processes are introduced, which do not need surface energy patterning and the resulting minimum gate channel length could be down to $11.2{\mu}m$ with the sheet resistance of 2.6 ${\Omega}/{\square]$ for the source and drain electrodes.

  • In order to solve image sticking phenomena, the gas-phase and liquid-phase interfacial reactions of photosensitive polyimide can annihilate photoreactive carbon-carbon double bonds, which remain after photo-alignment process. The annihilation processes dramatically affect residual DC and photochemical reorientation of photoactive functional groups.

  • We investigated the improvement of viewing angle using a patterned double twisted (PDT) vertical-alignment (VA) cell mode on a homeotropic alignment layer. Good voltage-transmittance curves for negative dielectric anisotropic nematic liquid crystal (NLC) using the PDT-VA cell without a negative compensation film were obtained. The viewing angle of the PDT-VA cell without a negative compensation film was wider than that of a conventional VA cell.
