위액분비 및 실험적 위손상에 대한 해당근 엑기스의 효과 (Effect of the Rosa rugosa Extract on the Rat with the Alcohol-salicylate-induced Gastropathy)

  • This study was undertaken to evaluate the gastrotherapeutic effects of the extract of Rosa rugosa. It can be regarded that the antigastric and anti-ulcerative effect of Rosa rugosa is originated from the reduction of total acid output identified by gastric secretion test. To clarify the protective mechanism of the Rosa rugosa extract, the gastropathy was induced in rats with alcohol-salicylate and the activities of the free radical scavenging enzymes were examined. The acitivity of superoxide dismutase and glutathione peroxide were significantly increased and the total content of glutathione was recovered. We concluded that the protective effect of the extract of Rosa rugosa on gastropathy in rats is its ability increased the activities of the free radical scavenging enzymes.

마늘-죽염 제제가 위장 장애 유발 흰쥐의 항산화 효소활성에 미치는 영향 (Protective Effect of an Aged Garlic-bamboo Salt Mixture on the Rat with the Alcohol-salicylate Induced Gastropathy)

  • Garlic has been known to be effective against the gastrointestinal diseases which can be induced by production of oxygen-derived free radical. It has been shown that bamboo salt is effective on the treatment and prevention of various gastrointestinal disorders. Bamboo salt is a processed salt invented by a Korean, ll-Hoon Kim. It has been reported that garlic and bamboo-salt are useful to the treatment of gastric disorders in Korea. To clarify the protective mechanism of the garlic-bamboo salt mixture, the gas-tropathy was induced in rats with alcohol-salicylate and the activities of the free radical scavenging enzymes were examined. In this study, we found that the garlic-bamboo salt mixture reduced the severity of hemorrhagic lesion in gastric mucosa in the rats. In addition, the activities of superoxide dismutase (SOD), glutathione peroxidase (GPx), glutathione reductase (GR) were significnatly increased and the total content of GSH was recovered. From those results, we concluded that the protective effect of the garlic-bamboo salt mixture on gastropathy in rats is its ability to recover the level of GSH and to increase the activities of the free radical scavenging enzymes (SOD, GPx, GR).

Effect of Crosslinking on Release of Model Drug from Electrospun Poly(vinyl alcohol) Fiber Mats

  • Electrospun fibers of poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA) were successfully prepared and applied as drug carriers for transdermal drug delivery system. Sodium Salicylate (SS) was the model drug and it was incorporated in the PVA fibers by adding 20 % of SS in a PVA solution prior to electrospinning. Electrospinning of SS-containing PVA solution resulted in the formation of beaded fibers. In order to control the rate of SS release and decrease water solubility of PVA, the SS-loaded electrospun PVA mat was cross-linked by either glutaraldehyde or glyoxal vapor. The morphology, thermal behavior, swelling behavior, release characteristic, kinetics of drug release and also toxicity of the cross-linked sample were investigated.

근관충전 시 수분오염이 치근단 폐쇄성에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구 (A STUDY ON THE EFFECT OF MOISTURE ON APICAL SEALING PROPERTY OF ROOT CANAL)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of moisture on apical sealing properties of root canal. Fifty five single rooted human teeth were selected from maxillary and mandibular teeth. After removing crown portion at the cemento-enamel junction, all teeth were routinely prepared with step-back method. And then, the canals were dried with paper point and the teeth were randomly divided into 3 groups of 15 teeth each, and remaining 10 teeth were used as positive and negative control teeth : Group 1 were irrigated with 1ml of 95% alcohol and dried with air and paper point. Group 2 and 3 were intentionally contaminated with 0.05ml of 3.5% NaOCl or saliva, respectively. All the teeth were obturated with sealapex and gutta percha cone by lateral condensation technique, and covered with two coat of nail varnish after 48 hours of obturation. The teeth were immersed in india ink for 1 week and cleaned with methyl salicylate and then the degree of dye penetration were measured with stereomicroscope. The data were analyzed statistically by one-way ANOVA. The results were as follows : 1. All experimental groups showed varying degrees of dye penetration, and the mean degree of dye penetration was 0.1mm to 0.7mm. 2. Saliva contamination group(group 3) showed the highest amount of dye penetration, followed by NaOCl contamination group, then alcohol dried group, but there was no significant difference among three experimental groups. * This results suggest that there was no significant differences of apical leakage after canal obturation between alcohol dried canal and moisture present canals and the use of alcohol instead of paper point is unnecessary to dry the canals prior to canal filling. But other factors such as bacterial contamination and sealer discoloration by moisture must be considered in application of this results to clinical practice.

제주감귤류의 휘발성 향기성분의 확인 (Identification of volatile flavor compounds in Jeju citrus fruits)

  • 제주감귤류(천혜향, 한라봉, 진지향, 황금향 및 레드향)의 휘발성 향기성분을 분석하기 위하여 SDE 방법으로 휘발성 화합물을 추출한 후 GC/MS로 확인하였다. 천혜향의 휘발성 향기성분은 104종(4,939.77 mg/kg), 한라봉 98종(3,286.38 mg/kg), 진지향 105종(3,317.56 mg/kg), 황금향 102종(4,293.39 mg/kg) 및 레드향 108종(4,049.94 mg/kg)으로 확인되었다. Limonene, sabinene, ${\beta}$-myrcene, ${\alpha}$-pinene, ${\beta}$-pinene, linalool, 4-terpineol, ${\alpha}$-terpineol, (E)-${\beta}$-ocimene 및 ${\gamma}$-terpinene 등은 제주감귤류의 공통적인 주요 향기로 확인 되었다. Ethyl-benzene, nonanol, 1-p-menthen-9-al, (E)-isocarveol, methyl salicylate, ${\alpha}$-terpinen-7-al, perilla alcohol 및 ethyl dodecanoate은 천혜향에서만 확인된 휘발성 향기 성분이다. ${\beta}$-Chamigrene 및 ${\alpha}$-selinene은 한라봉에서만 확인되었으며, 3-hydroxybutanal, (E)-2-nonenal, isoborneol, octyl acetate, (E)-2-undecenal, ${\beta}$-ylangene 및 guaia-6,9-diene은 진지향에서만 확인되었다. ${\rho}$-Cymenene, ${\beta}$-thujone, selina-4,11-diene 및 (E,E)-2,6- farnesol은 황금향에서만 확인되었으며, ${\rho}$-cymen-8-ol, bornyl acetate, carvacrol, bicyclo elemene, ${\alpha}$-cubebene 및 7-epi-${\alpha}$-selinene 등은 레드향에서만 확인된 향기성분이다. Limonene은 제주감귤류의 휘발성 향기성분 중 가장 많은 함량으로 확인되었으며, 비율은 42.57%~62.18%이다. 본 연구결과 제주감귤류의 품종에 따른 휘발성 향기성분 함량과 조성의 차이를 확인할 수 있었다.

초피(Zanthoxylum piperitum DC)의 과피와 잎의 방향성분 (Flavor Components of the Fruit Peel and Leaf Oil from Zanthoxylum piperitum DC)

  • 9월 중에 채취한 성숙한 초피 (Zanthoxylum piperitum DC)의 과피와 잎성분의 변성을 고려한 방법인 gas co-distillation으로 추출하고, GC/MS와 함께 workstation BASIC program들을 사용하여 극성이 다른 두 column(FFAP, HP-1)에 대한 authentic standard들의 retention index(RI) 값들을 구하여 HP-1 및 FFAP, RI reference library를 만든 후 초피의 정유성분들의 두 column library 탐색을 병행하여 분석함으로써, 과피에서 myrcene외 14 hydrocarbon들, linalool외 8 alcohol들, citronellal외 3 aldethyde들, carvone외 2 ketone들, methyl salicylate외 7 ester들 그리고 1,8-cineol 외 3 oxide를 확인하였고, 잎에서 limonene외 7 hydrocarbon들, citronellol외 7 alcohol들, cumin aldehyde외 1 aldehyde, carvone, 그리고 estragole외 1 oxide를 확인하였다. 과피에서는 1,8-cineol(25.47%), limonene(11.9%), geranylacetate(9.01%), myrcene(6.15%), geraniol(2.88%), citronellal(2.25%)등이 주성분이었고, 잎에서는 citronellal(23.11%), 1,8-cineol(18.38%), citronellol(6.04%), methyl cinnamate(4.08%)등이 주성분이었다.

녹차엽의 채취 시기와 재배지역에 따른 휘발성 향기 성분의 변화 (Changes in Volatile Compounds of Green Tea during Growing Season at Different Culture Areas)

  • 본 연구에서는 녹차엽의 채취 시기와 재배지역에 따른 휘발성 향기성분의 종류, 차이, 그리고 변화를 비교하기 위하여 제주와 전남지역에서 재배한 차의 생엽을 시기별로 채취하였다. 녹차엽의 휘발성 향기 성분은 SPME를 사용하여 포집, 흡착하여 GC, GC-MS, GC-O, 그리고 retention time을 이용하여 분리된 성분을 분석, 동정하였다. 녹차엽의 휘발성분의 양은 수분함량을 고려한 건조함량을 기준으로 정량하였다. 수분함량은 생엽이 78-80%, 건조엽이 3.20-4.98% 정도였다. 휘발성 향기성분의 흡착에 사용되는 SPME 방법은 이전의 여러 방법에 비해 분석시간이 짧고 본래의 향이 아닌 방해성분의 생성이 적은 장점이 있다. 본 연구에서 사용한 SPME fiber는 7.4%의 높은 재현성을 가졌으며 표준물질(ethyl n-heptanoate)의 내부표준법에 의한 재현성 결과에서는 불안정한 peak area값(RSD 30.5-98.7%)을 가져 3.47%의 재현성 결과를 가진 외부표준법을 사용하였다. 시기에 따른 휘발성 향기 성분을 비교한 결과, 5월에 채취한 생엽의 휘발량이 가장 많았으며, Group I과 Group II 향기특성의 함량비율이 균형적이었다. 휘발량이 가장 많았던 5월에 채취한 생엽을 제주와 전남의 재배지역으로 구분하여 비교한 결과, 주 성분은 Z-3-hexenal, linalool, E-2-hexenol, n-hexanal, Z-linalool oxide, myrcene, benzyl alcohol이었다. 이러한 결과는 채엽 시기가 녹차의 향기 특성에 영향을 주며, 채엽 시기가 같더라도 지역에 따라 향기가 다른 녹차가 제조될 수 있다는 것을 나타낸다. 본 연구는 녹차를 지역에 따라 구분하는 데에도 도움이 될 것으로 예상된다.

측방가압법과 System BTM를 이용한 근관충전시 근관만곡도에 따른 폐쇄효과의 비교 (COMPARISON OF THE INFLUENCE OF CANAL CURVATURE ON THE SEALING ABILITY OF LATERAL CONDENSATION AND SYSTEM BTM)

  • The purpose of this study was to compare sealing ability between lateral condensation and continuous wave of condensation in depend of root canal curvature. In this study, we divided fifty-six human molar teeth into two group in depend of Schneider method, and then subdivided them into four experimental group (each group is composed of twelve teeth) by canal curvature and obturation method, and eight teeth were served as positive and negative controls. Specimens were prepared by Quantac 2000 series file and obturated by lateral condensation or System B. Specimens were immersed in india ink for 7 days, decalcified by 10% nitric acid, dehydrated by 75, 95 and 100% alcohol in order, cleared by methyl salicylate and then measured of dye penetration with stereomicroscope(${\times}6.5$ magnification) and Image Pro plus. The data were analyzed stastically by one-way ANOVA and Scheffe test. The data were as follows: 1. The mean leakage was $0.725{\pm}1.167$ for group A, $0.813{\pm}0.921$ for group B, $0.809{\pm}0.997$ for group C, $1.111{\pm}1.147$ for group D, but no significant difference among them(p>0.05). 2. Lateral condensation had better sealing ability than continuous wave of condensation, but no significant difference among them(p>0.05). 3. There was no significant difference between root canal curvature degree and microleakage(p>0.05).

근관치료시 Nd:YAG Laser 사용과 세척액에 따른 치근단 폐쇄효과의 비교 (THE EFFECTS OF ND:YAG LASER AND IRRIGANTS ON CANAL SEALING ABILITY)

  • The application of Nd:YAG laser and irrigants to the root surface can change its surface configurations. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of Nd:YAG laser and irrigants on the apical seal of obturated canals. In this study, 66 single rooted teeth were randomly assigned to 4 group of 14 teeth each. 8 teeth were served us positive and negative controls. The teeth were divided into 6 groups as follows. Group A: Nd:YAG laser, 5% NaOCl + Rc-prep Group B: Nd:YAG laser, Saline Group C: 5% NaOCl + Rc-prep Group D: Saline Group E: Positive control Group F: Negative control 66 teeth were instrumented using Maillefer ProFile$^{\circledR}$ (Orifice Shapers, .04 taper, .06 taper Dentsply, Switzerland). Two of each group were selected at random, and the canal wall surfaces were examined under a SEM. 12 teeth of each group were obturated using by lateral condensation technique. Specimens were immersed in india ink for 7days, decalcified by 10% nitric acid, dehydrated by 75. 80. 85, 90, 95 and 100% alcohol in order cleared by methyl salicylate and then measured of dye penetration with stereomicroscope($\times$15 magnification) and Image Pro plus. The data were analyzed statistically by one-way ANOVA test and Duncan's Multiple Range test. The results were as follows : 1. The mean leakage was 0.128$\pm$0.376 for group A, 0.237$\pm$0.325 for group B, 0.397$\pm$0.468 for group C, 0.586$\pm$0.402 for group D, and there were statistically significant differences between group A and group D, group B and group D. (p<0.05). 2. Group A had better sealing ability than Group C, but there was statistically no significant differences. (p>0.05). 3. Group B had better sealing ability than Group D and there was statistically significant difference. (p<0.05). 4 Group A had better sealing ability than Group B, but there was statistically no significant difference. (p>0.05). 5. Group C had better sealing ability than Group D, but there was statistically no significant difference. (p>0.05). 6. As a result of observation under SEM, Smear layers were removed in Group A, B. but Smear layers were partially removed and smear plugs were remained in Group C, Smear layers were not removed in Group D. To be specially, Melting of smear layer were showed in Group C. 7. These results suggests that the laser has a potential in reducing the apical microleakage of obturated canals.
