Experimental Study on the Properties of Solid Material Made by Autoclave Curing according to CaO/SiO2 Ratio and W/B (CaO/SiO2비 및 W/B 변화에 따른 오토클레이브 양생 경화체의 특성에 관한 실험적 연구)

  • This study is on the properties of inorganic porous calcium silicate material made from silica powder through the autoclaving curing, the results of this study should be utilized fundamental data for the development of noise reduction porous solid material using siliceous byproduct generated by various manufacture process. For the manufacture of autoclave curing specimen, various calcareous materials used and siliceous materials used silica powder. In this study, properties in density and compressive strength according to the change of W/B and C/S ratio, microscopy for the shape of pore, SEM and XRD for the examination of hydrate after autoclave curing are carried out respectively. The test results shown that the more slurry density decrease, the more W/B increase at the fresh state, this tendency shown similar to in hardened state. Among the specimens of C/S ratio, the compressive strength of C/S ratio of 0.85 gave the highest the compressive strength. In the results of XRD, tobermorite generated by autoclaving curing was created all of specimens regardless of C/S ratio. To ascertain pore structure, we compared with existing porous calcium silicate product(ALC, organic sound absorbing porous material). The results of microscope observation, pore structure of specimen of this study was similar to that of existing inorganic sound absorbing foam concrete. therefore, we could conformed a possibility of sound absorbing porous solid material on the basis of the results.

Isolation of Ginsenoside${-Rh}_1$ and ${-Rh}_2$ by High Performance Liquid Chromatography (고속액체(高速液體) 크로마토그래피에 의(依)한 Ginsenoside ${-Rh}_1$${-Rh}_2$ 의 분리(分離))

  • An effective method for isolation of the major components of ginseng saponin such as $ginsenoside-Rb_{1},\;-Rb_2,$ -Rc, -Rd, -Re and $-Rg_1$, and the minor components such as ginsenoside-Rf, $-Rg_2,\;and-Rh_1$, was developed and reported in previous papers (J. Korean Agr. Chem. Soc., 23(4), 199 and 206(1980) The conditions and procedures used for isolation and identification for ginsenosides described in the previous papers were not sufficient enough for clean separation of minor components, $ginsenoside-Rh_1,\;and-Rh_2$. In this work, modifications in extraction method and in mobile phase for HPLC were attempted. It was found that application of ethyl acetate extraction at $60^{\circ}C$ for 3 hr on crude saponin resulted in a removal of diol group saponin from crude saponin which made it possible for using higher portion of acetonitrile in mobile phase. The mixed solvents of acetonitrile : water (92 : 8 and 94 : 6) gave excellent resolution of $ginsenoside-Rh_1\;and\;-Rh_2$.

Effect on Motivational Interviewing for Patients with Impaired Fasting Glucose (동기강화면담이 공복혈당장애 환자의 건강증진생활양식, 행동변화단계, 당화혈색소값에 미치는 효과)

  • The purpose of this study was to develop a motivational enhancement therapy(MET) for impaired fasting glucose(IFG) patients in early stages of health behavior change and evaluate its effects on health promotion lifestyle, the stages of change and HbAlc. Data was collected in Health Center of U city, December 2011 to March 2012, conducted on 78 IFG patients who visited to the Health center, they randomized to intervention group(n=27) and control group(n=33). The intervention group received the MET, the control group received standard care. This MET programe was applied from MET programe. After developing, it confirmed content validity. Data was analyzed using descriptive statistics, $x^2-test$ and t-test with the SPSS WIN 20.0 program. Participants in the intervention group reported significantly increased scores of the stage of change(t=-20.224, p=.000) compared to those of the control group but no difference of health behaviors(t=-1.297, p=.200) and HbAlc(t=.794, p=.431). The findings indicate that the MET is an effective intervention in improving ealth behaviors and expect to be applied effectively to the preparation for implementation of health care interventions.

Effects of a Nurse Short-Message Service via Cellular Phones for People with Diabetes (휴대전화 문자 메시지를 이용한 당뇨 교육이 당뇨벙환자 혈당에 미치는 효과)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of a six month web-based diabetic education on plasma glucose in people with diabetes. Method: A randomized design with control and experimental groups being assessed pre- and post-intervention was used. Seventeen patients were randomly assigned to a control group and 18 to an experimental group. Participants were requested to input the blood glucose level weekly to http://www.biodang.com by cellular phone or wire Internet for 6 months. The researcher sent optimal recommendations to each patient using the short message service (SMS) for cellular phone and wire Internet. Messages were sent weekly for 6 months. Results: Glycosylated hemoglobin ($HbA_1c$) decreased 1.5 percentage points at 3 months and 1.4 percentage points at 6 months compared with baseline in the intervention group. Patients in the intervention group had a decrease in 2 hours post meal glucose (2HPMG) of 94.3mg/dl at 3 months and 82.5mg/dl at 6 months compared with baseline. Conclusion: This web-based intervention using SMS for cellular phone improved HbAlc, and 2HPMG for six months in patients with type 2 diabetes.

Effects of Silkworm Powder on Blood Glucose and Lipid Levels in NIDDM(Type II) Patients (인슐린 비의존형(Type II) 당뇨환자에서 누에분말 섭취가 혈당 및 혈중지질농도에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of the silkworm powder on blood levels of glucose, Hb Alc, insulin, and lipids. Thirty-one NIDDM patients from Kyung Hee Medical Center were divided into two groups : patients with silkworm powder supplements and drug treatments(Drug diabetes) and patients with silkworm powder supplement only(Non-drug diabetes). For the control group, age-matched subjects were recruited. During the 4 weeks of the experimental period, silkworm powder(500mg/mea1) was given to the subjects right after each meal. Nutritional assessments and dietary education were carried out periodically, and body weight and blood pressure were measured when patients visited the hospital. Overnight fasting and 2-h postprandial blood glucose levels were measured at 2 week intervals. The blood levels of insulin, Hb Alc, and lipids were measured before and after the supplements. The mean ages of the three groups were 56.7-59.6 years old. The height, weight, and BMI did not differ among the groups. The fasting blood glucose levels were 138.1$\pm$22.0mg/dl for the Drug treated diabetes group, 175.0$\pm$32.0mg/dl for the Non-drug diabetes group, and 108. 3$\pm$16.gmg/dl for the control group at the begining of the supplement. After 4-wks of supplements, the blood levels of glucose tended to decrease in all three experimental groups. Before the supplements, the 2-h postprandial blood glucose levels of the Drug diabetes, Non drug diabetes, and control groups were 244.7$\pm$62.6mg/dl, 272.4$\pm$40.1mg/dl, and 147.7$\pm$28.0mg/dl, respectively. After the supplement, the levels were 197.2$\pm$30.gmg/dl, 208.6$\pm$ 56.6mg/dl, and 151.3$\pm$30.3mg/dl, respectively. This shows that silkworm powder tended to lower blood levels by 19.4% and 23.4% in NIDDM patient groups. However, the changes in the blood levels of insulin, Hb Alc, ind lipids were not observed after the supplement. In conclusion, the present study has demonstrated that silkworm powder has a tendency to decrease 2-h postprandial blood glucose levels, but it should be used with caution in controlling the diabetes. Current Status of Health Screening in Korea (한국의 건강검진 현황)

  • Along with a development of medical technology, a variety of tests, such as laboratory tests, x-ray and endoscopies are being used in health screening tests. As the tests determine the quality of health screening, test items and methods should be carefully selected. This study was to get hold of the test items of major health screening programs in Korea Most of the health screening programmes focused upon detection of risk factors and diagnosis of life - style related diseases (diabetes, hypertension, cardiovascular diseases, hypercholesterolemia, overweight, drinking, smoking, cerebrovascular diseases, osteoporosis) ,cancers (stomach, cervix, lung, breast, liver, colon, prostate, ovary, pancreas, thyroid, esophagus) , infectious diseases (hepatitis, tuberculosis, sexually-transmitted diseases, parasites) , chronic obstructive respiratory diseases, chronic renal diseases (bacteriuria hematuria, proteinuria) , anemia, glaucoma, hearing loss, Alzheimer disease, stress, early psychiatric diseases. The health screening tests were basic physical examination, basic laboratory tests (CBC, urinalysis, liver function tests, lipid tests, glucose, HbAlc, uric acid, electrolytes, serological tests (HBsAg, HBs-Ab, HCV-Ab, HIV-Ab, VDRL) EKG, x-ray (chest PA, CT) , endoscopy (gastroscopy, colonoscopy) , sonography(abdomen, thyroid, pelvis, breast) ,cytology (cervix) , bone density, tumor markets (NMP22, alpha-FP, CEA, CA-19-9, CA12S, PSA) and eye tests. Advanced technologies, like CT, PET, MRI, MRT/Angio, molecular testings) were widely used in hospital health screening programmes .In summary, a variety of tests were utilized in health screening in Korea. Those tests were utilized by stages or according to sex and age in most of health screening programmes, however a few program used tests to excess disregarding health screening subjects.

Dielectric Study of Allyl Chloride with 2-Pentanone and 2-Hexanone in Microwave Frequency Range

  • Dielectric measurement on binary mixtures of Allyl chloride (ALC) with 2-Pentanone (2-PE) and 2-Hexanone (2-HE) has been carried out over the entire concentration range using Time Domain Reflectometry (TDR) technique at various temperatures in microwave frequency range of 10 MHz to 10 GHz. The static dielectric constant, excess static dielectric constant (${\varepsilon}^E_S$), effective Kirkwood correlation factor ($g^{eff}$) of binary mixtures over entire concentration range were determined to study the effect of increasing alkyl group of ketones on hetero molecular interaction. It was found that magnitude of excess static dielectric constant of mixtures increases with increase of alky group of ketones. The study reveals that the dipole moment of Allyl chloride in mixture have antiparallelism tendency where as 2-pentanone and 2-hexanone have parallelism tendency. Excess static dielectric constant is also fitted to Redlich-Kister equation to get information about rates of multimers formation.

A Study of the Physical Properties of Slurry and Mineral Hydrate Insulation Mixed with Polypropylene Fiber (폴리프로필렌 섬유 혼입 슬러리와 미네랄 하이드레이트 단열소재의 물리적 특성에 관한 연구)

  • The fabrication method used for mineral hydrate is similar to that of ALC (autoclaved lightweight concrete), but the fabrication of normal slurry with a considerable amount of a foaming agent is difficult due to material separation and collapse of the slurry. Therefore, the development of fabrication methods for normal slurry is necessary. The final product, mineral hydrate insulation, has excellent thermal properties but poor strength characteristic given the many pores. In this study, in order to fabricate normal slurry, the viscosity and foaming time of the slurry were controlled. The mixing ratio of the starting material and the polypropylene fiber was controlled to improve the strength. Mineral hydrate with polypropylene fiber showed a higher strength than that without this type of fiber. Specifically, the compressive strength of mineral hydrate with 2% polypropylene fiber added to it was more than 40% higher than that without the fiber.

  • Recent structural approach of the House of Commons has been an increase in demand for dry wall light due to a change in load bearing composite structure of a flat plate type structure under the name of long-life housing, attach the attachment to the wall as the needs of the residents of reserved space increases things that are on the rise. However, depending on the strength of collapse accidents is shown wall and recent wall deposits are required, a load resistance evaluation method of the deposit of the need is the situation. Therefore, in this study, for the evaluation of the evaluation of dry lightweight wall as widely used gypsum board and ALC lightweight wall of two types of laboratory the wall through the previous studies to be installed in direct co-housing to the target and field experiments I want to evaluate the different points.
