배지 종류 및 저장 조건에 따른 impactor의 부유세균 시료 채취 효율 평가 (Evaluation of Impactor's Collection Efficiency on Airborne Bacteria by Type of Agar Media and Storage Condition)

  • The range of reduction rates of airborne bacteria concentration at 6 hrs, 12 hrs, 24 hrs and 48 hrs, which means a storage time until input of agar media into incubator after air sampling with an impactor. were 15-20%, 25-40%, 35-50% and 55-70%, respectively, compared to initial concentration. Types of agar media and storage thermal condition did not significantly affect a collection efficiency of impactor in terms of evaluating airborne bacteria level (p>0.05). To better improve the impactor's collection efficiency of airborne bacteria, based on the result of this study, it is recommended that the vicinity of $25^{\circ}C$ should be sustained until input of agar media into incubator after air sampling.

  • This study evaluated the airborne concentrations of bacteria, Gram-negative bacteria, and fungi in waiting rooms, wards, and outdoors, according to time and particle size between October 17 and November 28, 2003. The geometric mean number of airborne bacteria was highest in the morning. The more people there were, the higher was the total bacteria concentration. The concentration of fungi was also highest in the morning. Temperature and relative humidity affected the concentrations of fungi significantly (p<0.05). This study found relationships between microorganism concentrations and (actors such as time, place, temperature, humidity, ventilation, and number of people. Therefore, to manage the pollution resulting from airborne microorganisms, each time, place, and environmental factor should be examined periodically, and the number, size, and movement of airborne microorganisms should be evaluated.

Corrosion on Steel Surfaces with Sea-Salt Deposition and Artificial Seawater Film

  • The conditions to simulate the atmospheric corrosion behavior in the laboratory were investigated to clarify atmospheric corrosion mechanism of steel material in coastal area, For airborne sea salt and artificial seawater droplet, the various behaviors were observed by optical microscope, The particle size of the dried airborne sea salt was about $20{\mu}m$, and was about 1/10 compared with the artificial seawater droplet. Though the airborne sea salt represented the same behavior as the thermodynamic water absorption, the behavior of the artificial seawater droplet deviated from the results of the thermodynamic calculation, It is concluded that the water absorption behavior is influenced by the particle size of the dried sea salt. The corrosion behaviors of carbon steels were observed under the deposited condition of airborne sea salt and artificial seawater droplet. The corrosion behaviors showed a different trend, indicating that the corrosion behavior depended on the particle size of the dried sea salt. The corrosion in the actual environrnent progressed greater than that in the chamber. Furthermore, the summer showed the greater corrosion than the spring. It is found that the corrosion behaviors are attributed to the influence of the environmental factors.

고속 Multi-DSP를 이용한 헬기탑재 펄스 도플러 레이다 신호처리기 개발 (A Helicopter-borne Pulse Doppler Radar Signal Processor Development using High Speed Multi-DSP)

  • An airborne radar is an essential aviation electronic system of the helicopter to perform various missions in all-weather environments. This paper presents the results of the design and implementation of the airborne pulse doppler radar signal processor using high multi-DSP for the multi-function radar capability such as short-range, midium-range, and long-range depending on the mission of the vehicle. Particularly, the radar signal processor is developed using two DSP boards in parallel for the various radar signal processing algorithm. The key algorithms include LFM chirp waveform-based pulse compression, MTI clutter filter, MTD processor, adaptive CFAR, and clutter map. Especially airborne moving clutter Doppler spectrum compensation algorithm such as TACCAR is implemented for the multi-mode airborne radar system. The test results shows the good Doppler spectral separation for the clutter and the moving target in the flight test environment using helicopter.

여천공단 일부지역의 대기오염물질이 WBF-344간 상피세포의 Gap Junctional Intercellular Communication에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Airborne Samples Collected in Yeochun on Gap Junctional Inter cellular Communication in WBF-344 Rat Liver Epithelial Cells)

  • We collected airborne complex mixtures in a industrial area of Yeochun, and examined whether these complex mixtures could affect gap junctional intercellular communication (GJIC) in a cultured WBF-344 rat liver epithelial cells (LEC). Since the reduction of GJIC plays an important role in chemical carcinogenesis, measurement of changes of GJIC is a meaningful method to screen carcinogenicity of these mixtures. High and low volume samples were dissolved in dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) and tested. Blank filter extractions were also examined for exclud-ing possible toxicity of filter itself, and TPA (12-O-tetradecanoylphorbol-13-acetate) and DMSO were used as positive and negative control, respectively. When the cells were exposed to samples at concentration below that required to maintain rather than 85% cell viability based on the result of neutral red uptake assay, maximal inhibition of GJIC was observed at 1hr after treatment with both high and low volume samples by scrape-loading dye transfer assay. In fluorescence recovery after photobleaching assay, recovery rates via gap junctions were 33%/min in high volume sample and 62%/min in low volume sample. In together, airborne samples collected in Yeochun inhibited GJIC in a cultured WBF-344 rat LEC. These results suggest airborne samples tested in this experiment may attribute to cause a certain type and degree of cancers in in vivo when exposured for some periods.

탐색 레이다에서 누적확률에 기인한 탐지거리 계산에 관한 연구 (Calculation of the Detection Range for a Given Cumulative Probability in Airborne Surveillance Radars)

  • 항공기용 레이다의 성능을 나타내는 최대 탐지 거리는 누적 탐지 확률로 규정된다. 이는 지상클러터에 의해 단일 탐지 확률이 거리에 따라 오르내리기 때문에 단일 탐지 확률로 탐지거리를 규정하기 어렵기 때문이다. 따라서 단조 증가하는 누적 탐지 확률을 이용하여 규정한다. 본 논문에서는 일정한 주기를 가지는 탐색 레이다에서 탐색 빔의 위치와 표적의 거리를 고려한 평균 누적 탐지 확률 계산법을 제시하며, 몬테카를로 시뮬레이션의 결과와 비교하여 동일함을 보였다. 수치적 계산에 의해 검증된 몬테카를로 시뮬레이션 모델은 추후 다양한 시나리오에 대한 시스템의 성능을 평가하는 데에 사용될 수 있을 것이다.

풍선기반 자율형 공중로봇키트 개발 (Development of Balloon-based Autonomous Airborne Robot-kit)

  • 최근에는 극한 분야에서 수상로봇, 수중로봇, 공중로봇과 같은 해양로봇의 필요성이 제기되고 있음에도 불구하고, 그 기반은 매우 부족하다. 다행히도, 로봇교육에 대한 요구가 증가하고 있으므로, 해양로봇키트의 개발 및 보급을 통하여 연구개발 기반을 마련하고 미래 인재를 양성하는 것이 바람직하다. 그러나, 기존에는 공중 이동 및 장애물회피가 가능한 풍선기반의 해양로봇키트가 없다. 이 문제를 해결하기 위해서, 적외선 센서를 이용하여 장애물회피가 가능한 풍선기반 자율 공중로봇키트가 개발되었다. 시험평가 결과는 실제 적용 가능성과 추가 연구의 필요성을 보여준다.

공기 중 축산질병 확산예측을 위한 오픈폼 도입 및 검증 (Validation and Application of OpenFOAM for Prediction of Livestock Airborne Virus Spread)

  • Accurate wind data is essential for predicting airborne spread of virus. OpenFOAM was used for computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulation procedure which is under GNU GPL (General Public License). Using complex terrain, DEM (Digital Elevation Map) that was prepared from GIS information covering a research site is converted to a three dimensional surface mesh that is composed by quad and full hexahedral space meshes. Around this surface mesh, an extended computational domain volume was designed. Atmospheric flow boundary conditions were used at inlet and roughness height and was considered at terrain by using rough wall function. Two different wind conditions that was relatively stable during certain periods were compared in 3 different locations for validating the accuracy of the CFD computed solution. The result shows about 10 % of difference between the calculated result and measured data. This procedure can simulate a prediction of time-series data for airborne virus spread that can be used to make a web-based forecasting system of airborne virus spread.

Characteristics and Temporal Distribution of Airborne Pollen in an Urban Area of Japan

  • Using a sampling device of our own making, airborne pollen has been monitored in Kyoto, Japan from the middle of February to the end of May 2004. From the morphological analysis of pollen grains by Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM), it was possible to identify some pollen types like Cryptomeria, Pine, Alder, Cyclobalanopsis, Chamaecyparis, and Equisetum. Daily average airborne pollen counts show strong variations from the day to day which makes the appropriate daily forecasts that could be of practical use for patients difficult. Diurnal variation of airborne pollen grains at our local sampling site is very irregular and shows no similarity between pollen types. The highest concentrations of Cryptomeria and Alder pollens in the south -west wind directions might be attributed to the airborne pollen transport, while the increase in Pine pollen grain in the southern wind direction was probably due to the local spread. Prevailing wind direction (SW) during the pollinating periods of Cryptomeria and Alder pollens could suggest a long-distance transport from a distant mountain.

항공기 레이다의 GMTI 모드를 위한 Sigma-Delta STAP의 적용 설계와 성능 분석 시뮬레이션 (Application Design and Performance Analysis Simulation of Sigma-Delta STAP for GMTI Mode of Airborne Radar)

  • Sigma, Delta 및 Guard 수신 채널을 가진 항공기 레이다의 공대지 GMTI(Ground Moving Target Indication) 모드를 위한 Sigma-Delta STAP(Space Time Adaptive Processing) 적용 방법, GMTI 처리 방법을 제시하였다. 제시한 방법들을 ICM(Internal Clutter Motion) 환경을 고려한 클러터 모의 환경 및 신호처리 시뮬레이션, MDV(Minimum Detectable Velocity)를 통해 성능을 분석하여 그 결과들을 보였다. 제시한 Sigma-Delta STAP 처리 방법 및 GMTI 처리 방법들은 특정 항공기 레이다 시스템에 의한 제약 사항에 덜 영향 받으면서 실제 적용이 용이하다.
