  • Wave breaking and breaking wave-induced hydrodynamics are very important subjects in the field of coastal and ocean hydrodynamics and engineering. In the coastal zone, a submerged breakwater has been increasingly popular, since it is one of nature-matching structures with multi- functions such as (1) wave energy dissipation by wave breaking and friction, (2) oxygen supply to sea by wave breaking and breaking wave, (3) water purification by entrained air bubbles, (4) keeping. good seascape. and (5) good habitat for sea livings. Recently, the breaking wave-induced high frequency pressure over a submerged breakwater is said to have a function of gathering sea livings around the structure, which has encouraged the construction of the submerged breakwater in coastal zone.   • Most finishing materials are vulnerable to durability, humidity resistance and fire. And those products used formaldehyde to protect, during the manufacturing process. Also most finishing materials used adhesives to construction process indoor. All of these elements are major causes of releasing formaldehyde. In this study, concrete used by phytoncide was examined to remove the formaldehyde. As a result of the experiment, we found that compressive strength was increased and formaldehyde effectively removed by using mixture of cement matrix and phytoncide.

  • In this study, we attempt to synthesize the cordierite from the reaction of fly-ash, alumina, silicon dioxide, and magnesia powders. For the purpose of air purification, the honeycomb filter with porous cordierite was fabricated from the combination of synthetic cordierite and pore forming agent. Fabricated porous cordierite honeycomb was prepared with high porosity (58%), and good compressive strength (69MPa).

  • This study is to develop electromagnetic plasma reactors for indoor air purification, Removal effect of nitrogen oxide using magnetic field are investigated. And AC or DC high voltage is applied for corona discharge, flow rates are 150${\sim}$1500${\ell}$/min and NO initial concentration is about 10 ppm. In the results, NOx removal rate by AC power is about 10 % higher than that by DC power under the experimental condition of 700 ${\ell}$/min, 5 magnets. When magnet is applied to the reactor, NOx removal rate increased.

  • Photoelectrocatalytic system is based on the idea that the photogenerated electrons in a layer of TiO$_2$ would move toward a cathode with application of high voltage across the TiO$_2$ coated aluminum plate. In this system, aluminum plate is used as a substrate for TiO$_2$ and also serves as a cathode. According to our scheme, moving photogenerated electrons toward a cathode would have the same effect as moving these electrons away from the holes, which would have the effect of retarding recombination of photogenerated electrons with holes. Recent experiments on benzene and toluene showed higher rates of removal with high voltage on compared to high voltage off, which supported our scheme partially.

  • UV irradiation of anthraquinone and diphenylacetylene in benzene gave 1:1 photoadduct (7) and cyclization product (8). The photoreaction of anthrone and diphenylacetylene in dichloromethane afforded the photooxidation products (7, 8, and 9) in air. The photoproduct (7) underwent the cyclization reaction during the purification by the column chromatography (silica gel). When irradiated with 350 nm UV light, the product (11) of benzil reacted with diphenylacetylene to give a photoadduct(12).

  • 측위 기술은 증강현실, 스마트 팩토리, 자율주행 등에서 중요한 기능을 수행하고 있다. 측위 기술 중에서 비콘을 이용한 측위 방법은 RSSI(Receiver Signal Strength Indicator) 값의 편차로 인하여 도전적인 과제로 여겨져 왔다. 본 연구는 수신기의 RSSI 값을 입력으로 하고 거리를 목표 값으로 하는 신경망을 학습시켜서 이동하는 객체에 대한 위치를 예측하였다. 이를 수행하기 위해 RSSI 대비 거리 실측값을 수집하였다. 수집한 데이터로 합성 데이터를 만들기 위한 신경망을 도입하였다. 이 신경망을 바탕으로 거리 대비 RSSI 값을 예측하였다.

Triboelectric Energy Harvesting for Self-powered Antibacterial Applications

  • Triboelectric nanogenerators (TENGs) have emerged as a highly promising energy harvesting technology capable of harnessing mechanical energy from various environmental vibrations. Their versatility in material selection and efficient conversion of mechanical energy into electric energy make them particularly attractive. TENGs can serve as a valuable technology for self-powered sensor operation in preparation for the IoT era. Additionally, they demonstrate potential for diverse applications, including energy sources for implanted medical devices (IMDs), neural therapy, and wound healing. In this review, we summarize the potential use of this universally applicable triboelectric energy harvesting technology in the disinfection and blocking of pathogens. By integrating triboelectric energy harvesting technology into human clothing, masks, and other accessories, we propose the possibility of blocking pathogens, along with technologies for removing airborne or waterborne infectious agents. Through this, we suggest that triboelectric energy harvesting technology could be an efficient alternative to existing pathogen removal technologies in the future.

오염토양 내 석유제품 판별을 위한 TPH 및 BTEX 분석 (Combined TPH and BTEX Analytic Method to Identify Domestic Petroleum Products in Contaminated Soil)

  • The significance of maintaining the soil environment is gradually increasing owing to soil and underground water contamination by petroleum leak accidents. However, the purification of soil is an expensive and more time-consuming process than the purification of contaminated water and air. Moreover, determining the source and people responsible for soil pollution gets often embroiled in legal conflicts, further delaying the cleanup process of the contaminate site. Generally, TPH (total petroleum hydrocarbon) pattern analysis is used to determine the petroleum species and polluter responsible for soil contamination. However, this process has limited application for petroleum products with a similar TPH pattern. In this study, we analyze the TPH pattern and specific sectional ratio (${\sim}C_{10}$, $C_{10}-C_{12}$, $C_{12}-C_{36}$, and $C_{36}{\sim}$) of various domestic petroleum products to identify the petroleum product responsible for soil contamination. Also, we perform BTEX (benzene, toluene, ethyl benzene, xylene) quantitative analysis and determine B:T:E:X ratio using GC-MS. The results show that gasoline grade 1 and 2 have a similar TPH pattern but different BTEX values and ratios. This means that BTEX analysis can be used as a new method to purify soil pollution. This complementary TPH and BTEX method proposed in this study can be used to identify the petroleum species and polluters present in the contaminated soil.

Study on the Systematic Technology of Promoting Purification for the Livestock Wastewater and Reuse

  • The objective of this study is to develop a systematic purification plant using the metabolism of aerobic microorganisms. This system is subsequently aerated and continuously removes suspended solids and settling sludges caused by aerating pressure at the bottom of a lower pipe (i.e., Continuous Removal of Suspended solids and Settling sludges, CRSS). The CRSS plants are brought out by introducing fine air bubbles into the liquid phase of a lower pipe in the bio-reactor. These plant uses aeration pipe, with multiple inlets to sweep the floor of bio-reactor tank, instead of the conventional scraper mechanisms. The principal advantage of this system is that it can continuously remove very small or light particles that settles completely within a short time. Once the particles have been floated to the surface, they can be moved into the pipe and collected in the settling tank by sequently aerated pressure. The experimental results shows that about 99.0% of the biochemical oxygen demand(BOD), 99.3% of the suspended solid(SS), 92.3% of the total nitrogen(T-N), 99.0% of the turbidity(TU), 100% of the total coliform(TC)and ammonia was respectively removed during aerobic digestion for 9 days. These result indicates that the CRS S plants are very effective for reduction and deodorization of swine wastewater contaminants, and the efflux from CRS S can either be discharged in the river or used as nutrient solution of formulation for plant growth factories. The developed CRSS plant proved to be flexible and it can simply be adapted to any type of biological waste treatment problem.roblem.
