The questionnaire was composed of questions about the types of sex role identity, pursuit factors and purchasing behaviors of underwear. The respondents were girls from 6 high schools in cities in Chonbuk Province. The questionnaires were collected from April 6th to May 12th in 1998. 510 questionnaires were used for data analysis. Frequency, percent, average, standard deviation, F-test, $$\chi$^2$-test, and Duncan’s multiple range test were followed. The results of this study were as follows:1. Among the sex role identity groups, the androgynous group was the largest, and the masculine group was the smallest among high school girls. 2. High school girls sought after practicality most when purchasing underwears, but sought after the brand least. The androgynous group recognized practicality, aesthetics, and sexual attraction most, but the undifferentiated group recognized them least. 3. The high school girls bought underwears objectively when they were worn out, made use of TV, newspaper, and radio advertisements as the information sources, and considered the size, comfort, and style. They recognized the prices of underwears as moderate. They depended on their mother most when purchasing underwears and reflected their dependents opinion on selecting underwears partially. They purchased at the underwear specialty store.

  • In paper after the strong earthquake of recently the Korea neighborhood, the Korean government survey show that the 86% of school buildings in Korea are in potential damage risk and only 14% of them are designed as earthquake-resistance buildings. Earthquake Reinforcing projects of school have been a leading by the ministry of education, however their reinforcing methods done by not proved a engineering by experiment which results in uneconomical and uneffective rehabilitation for the future earthquake. An experimental and analytical study have been conducted for the shear reinforcing method of column by axis and horizontal axis load using attaching composite beam. Based on the previous research, in this study, Design examples are given to show the performance evaluation for the column reinforcing of old school buildings using nonlinear analysis is going to be conducted and strengthening method is going to be on the market after their performance is proved by the test.

  • The effect of NaCl solution concentration (from 0 to 3 M) on the extraction of pectinesterase (PE) from jalapeno chili pepper (Capsicum annuum) was studied by determining its solubilization degree from the chili tissue. All concentrations of the salt favored the solubilization of PE in jalapeno chili pepper, compared to that in water. Maximum enzyme activity was obtained with NaCl 2.0 M. The effect of temperature on the PE activity of jalapeno chili pepper in the extracts was also studied. The PE residual activity of jalapeno pepper was 75% after 60 min of incubation at $55^{\circ}C$ and 10% at $75^{\circ}C$. At $85-95^{\circ}C$, PE residual activity was 5% after 5 min of incubation.

  • Titanium silicalite-1 (TS-1) molecular sieve was produced by microwave heating of amorphous titanium-containing solid precursors after impregnation with aqueous TPAOH solution. $SiO_2-TiO_2$ xerogel, sub-micron sized $SiO_2-TiO_2$ prepared by thermal plasma process, and Ti-containing mesoporous silica, Ti-HMS, were tested as the solid phase substrates. Highly crystalline product was obtained within 30 min. after microwave irradiation with yields over 90% using $SiO_2-TiO_2$ xerogel, which showed essentially identical physicochemical properties to TS-1 prepared by conventional hydrothermal method. Excellent catalytic activity was also obtained for 1-hexene epoxidation using $H_2O_2.\;SiO_2-TiO_2$ particles prepared by thermal plasma and Ti-HMS were found inferior as a substrate for TS-1, probably due to difficulties in wetting the surface uniformly with TPAOH.

  • A 51-year-old male was admitted to the hospital with complaints of fever and hemoptysis. After evaluation of the fever focus, he was diagnosed with pulmonary valve infective endocarditis. Thus pulmonary valve replacement and antibiotics therapy were performed and discharged. He was brought to the emergency unit presenting with a high fever (> $39^{\circ}C$) and general weakness 6 months after the initial operation. The echocardiography revealed prosthetic pulmonary valve endocarditis. Therefore, redo-pulmonary valve replacement using valved conduit was performed in the Rastelli fashion because of the risk of pulmonary arterial wall injury and recurrent endocarditis from the remnant inflammatory tissue. We report here on the successful surgical treatment of prosthetic pulmonary valve endocarditis with an alternative surgical method.

  • This research was described the prevention of coastal topographical change and sediment diffusive concentration incoming from small estuary after construction jetties. This structure is constructed to decrease sediment deposition incoming from the upstream river due to the urbanization and industrial development and to minimize effects on the coastal ecosystem. The physical modeling and numerical modeling for waves were conducted to analyze the configuration of Imrang sand beach deformation without and with construction of jetty. The specification of the installed jetty, which is able to control sedimentation concentration was decided based on the prediction of the Imrang beach area changes by space and time. As a result, the jetties constructed in the estuary retarded the rate of sand sediment, so that the effect area of sand sedimentation was obviously decreased. In addition, the measured field data indicated that the sediment deposition inside of dikes could be controlled and the right side area of jetties could be preserved without sediment deposition.

  • Carbon nanotubes(CNTs) are largely synthesized on Fe catalysts by catalytic chemical vapor deposition. The various shapes and compositions of these nanostructure CNTs were obtained by controlled parameters such as the reaction temperature, gas-mixing ratio. The influence of these parameters is investigated, together with observations of the produced materials after the purification processes. A diameter of CNTs, range from 2 to 10 nm, closely correlated with the size of the catalyst particle found attached to the tube end. The yield of CNTs was estimated to be 88.5 % and the purities of CNTs thus obtained were more than 80 %. The experimental results were documented with field emission scanning electron microscopy and raman spectroscopy and transmission electron microscopy, both before and after the purification.

  • Objectives: This study was conducted to test whether stretching helps high school students recover from their fatigue and improve concentration. Method: The method of this study adopted a nonequivalent control group with pre-test and post-test designs. The period of data collection was from November to December in 2004. The 135 subjects were randomly selected from two high schools in Ulsan : one school as control group(n=66) and the other school as an experimental group(n=69). The experimental group had stretching for 10 minutes before the start of their fifth period class, five times a week(once a day) 4weeks of period, but the control group did not do. Result: After stretching, the students' level of fatigue in the experiment group was immensely reduced (t=4.75, p<.001). After the stretching, the concentration level of the experimental group increased vastly compared to the control group (t=3.35, p≤.005). Conclusion: Stretching is useful to reduce fatigue and improve concentration of high school students. This study recommended that stretching, which is not limited by high physical techniques, or specific time or spaces would help high school students' health, since they do not exercise regularly and are tired physically and mentally.

  • Tracheoinnominate artery fistula is a rare, fatal complication of tracheostomy, and prompt diagnosis and management are imperative. We report the case of tracheoinnominate artery fistula after tracheostomy in a 14-year-old boy with a history of severe periventricular leukomalacia, hydrocephalus, cerebral palsy, and epilepsy. The tracheoinnominate artery fistula was successfully treated with a stent graft insertion via the right common femoral artery. Endovascular repair of the tracheoinnominate artery fistula via stent grafting is a safe, effective, and minimally invasive treatment for patients in poor clinical conditions and is an alternative to traditional open surgical treatment.
