기회균형 선발전형 학생들의 대학만족도와 대학생활에 대한 연구 (A Study on the University Satisfaction and College Life of Students Admitted through the Affirmative Action Program)

  • 본 연구는 H대학교 기회균형 선발전형 입학생들의 특징을 알아봄으로써 기회균형 선발전형 수립에 정보를 제공하기 위해서 수행되었다. 이를 위해 첫째, 기회균형 선발전형 입학생들의 입학성적과 대학성적간의 관계를 상관분석하였다. 둘째, 기회균형 선발전형 입학생과 재학생들간의 만족도 비교를 위해서 기술통계 및 상관분석을 실시하였다. 셋째, 기회균형 선발전형 입학생의 대학적응 및 진로에 대해서는 질적 연구방법을 통해 살펴보았다. 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 기회균형 전형 입학생들의 고교 내신 성적과 대학성적간의 유의한 상관관계를 통해 학업수준이 유지되고 있음을 알 수 있다. 둘째, 기회균형 전형 입학생들의 대학만족도가 전체 재학생 만족도 보다 높음을 통해 대학이 학생들에게 성장의 기회를 제공하고 있음을 알 수 있다. 셋째, 기회균형 전형 입학생들의 진로에 대한 실천 행동이 양극화되어 있었다. 대학에서는 이러한 성향을 극복할 방안을 모색할 필요가 있다. 결론적으로 대학에서 학생들이 적극적으로 진로를 준비할 수 있는 제도를 마련한다면 대학만족도 등을 고려할 때 기회균형 선발전형에 대한 확대가 대학 발전에 기여할 수 있을 것이다.

말레이시아에서의 불평등과 빈곤 (Inequality and Poverty in Malaysia)

  • This paper aims to analyse the inequality and poverty in Malaysia. Malaysia is considered to be a country of high inequality and high poverty according to the Asian Development Bank. To tackle the income inequality and poverty in Malaysia, especially after the incident of ethnic riot in 1969, the government pursued to implement the affirmative action for the benefit of bumiputra. Recognizing the fact that the economic factors are crucial in determining the levels of inequality and poverty, this paper analyses the historical, institutional and cultural factors and evaluates the affirmative action designed to reduce the income gap between bumiputra and non-bumiputra.

대학입학과 관련된 미국 소수집단우대정책 역사적 변화 분석 (The Analysis for Legal Evolution of Affirmative Action in University Admissions in the U. S. A.)

  • 미국의 초창기 소수집단우대정책(Affirmative Action)의 목적은 과거의 인종 차별로 인한 피해를 바로 잡고자 하는 차원에서 고용 및 교육에 대한 기회와 공평한 분배를 보장하고자 소수 인종을 우대하자는 데 있었다. 인종차별로 인한 과거를 보상하자는 취지에서 마련된 이 정책은 대학 입학 정책 실행에 있어 소수인종에 수혜를 주는 정원할당이라는 역차별과 공정성을 둘러싼 법적 논쟁이 끊이지 않았으며, 매 소송마다 연방법원 및 대법원 판결을 중심으로 그에 대한 법적 논리와 원칙, 준거를 마련하며 제도는 발전되어 왔다. 최근 들어 미국의 명문 주립대 중 하나인 텍사스주립대(University of Texas at Austin)에서는 소수집단우대정책의 시행이 백인 지원자들에 대한 역차별인지 여부를 결정할 대법원 판결(Fisher v. University of Texas at Austin)을 기다리면서 이 정책은 또다시 주목 받고 있다. 본 연구는 대학 입학정책에 있어 제도적 프레임의 결과로서 대법원 판례에 투영된 소수집단우대정책이 어떤 변화를 겪어 발전되어 왔는지, 이에 영향을 미친 역사적 맥락, 정치적 역학 구도와 관련 행위자들의 행동 전략을 역사적 신제도주의를 바탕으로 세 가지 차원을 통합하여 통합적 접근으로서의 정책의 변화 과정을 엿볼 수 있도록 분석하였다.

사회통합전형 과학고등학교 입학생들을 위한 교육 프로그램 개발 및 적용 (Development and Implementation of Education Program for the Science High School Students Who Entered by Affirmative Action)

  • 본 연구는 사회통합전형으로 과학고등학교를 입학하는 학생들을 대상으로 교육 프로그램을 개발 적용하고 그 효과를 분석하는 데 목적이 있다. 프로그램은 과학고 사회통합전형 학생의 효율적인 학교 적응 지원을 통한 과학기술인으로서의 성장 도모 및 교육 격차 해소라는 목표로 개발되었고, 사회통합전형으로 입학하는 고등학생을 대상으로 입학 전과 입학 초기 여름방학에 적용하였으며 이에 대한 사전-사후 학업적 자기효능감 및 자아탄력성 검사와 면담을 실시하였다. 70명이 입학전 프로그램에 참여하였고, 이 중 56명이 입학 초기 여름방학 프로그램에 참여하였으며, 36명의 학생들이 프로그램 효과와 관련한 일대일 면담에 참여하였다. 검사 결과에서는 자아탄력성에서만 유의미한 차이를 보였으며 면담 결과에서는 학생들이 과학고에 입학하고 나서 학업적인 면이나 학교생활 적응 면에서 프로그램이 큰 도움이 되었다고 하였다. 이를 통하여 이 학생들에게 필요한 지원에 대한 제안과 추후연구를 제시하였다.

News, Public Policy, and Social Justice

  • In this paper, we look at mediation of public policies in different areas of governance. Editorials appearing in an Indian English language newspaper during the period of an intense public debate on the issue of affirmative action in favor of a section of the population, the Other Backward Classes (OBC) - a popular reference to the socially and educationally backward classes of citizens under India's constitution constitute the sample for the study. Apart from editorials on the public policy of reservation of seats in admission to higher education institutions for the OBC, editorials on three other areas of governance, namely, development, economy, and public administration appearing in the same newspaper, are also consulted to understand media framing of social issues and more specifically, issues of social justice. Inductively identifying the various frames used in its editorials by the newspaper, I detect predominant use of 'personalized' frame in respect of editorials pertaining to the policy area of social justice; and distinguish it from the 'generic' frame of 'characterization' found in theory. The study concludes that the sample editorials in respect of other public policies did not use the personalized frame found in editorials on social justice.

장애인의 문화적 권리 보장에 대한 소고 (A View on the Guarantee of Cultural Right of the Disabled)

  • 문화는 사회구성원의 삶의 질을 논함에 있어 필수적인 요소이며, 문화권은 국민의 기본적인 권리로서 인정받고 있다. 문화권이란 시민들이 문화향수를 위해 필요한 각종 문화적 생산수단을 공적으로 확보하고, 문화적 활동에 쉽게 접근할 수 있는 환경을 요구하는 것을 말한다. 그러나 우리사회에서 장애인의 문화권은 사회적 편견과 장벽으로 차별과 소외의 상태에 머물러 있으며 그것은 아직도 권리로서의 인식이 부족한 데서 기인한 것이라고 볼 수 있다. 본 연구의 목적은 장애인의 문화적 권리는 기본적인 인간의 권리라는 인식의 제고와 함께 그에 기반한 보편적 권리임을 분명히 하고, 장애인의 문화적 평등권 실현을 위한 적극적 조치(Affirmative Action)의 시행을 주장하는 데에 있다. 본 연구를 통해 도출된 장애인 문화권 보장과 실현을 위한 정책적 방안은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 기초생활보장수급자와 차상위 계층으로 한정된 문화바우처 사업의 대상을 모든 장애인으로 확대해야 한다. 둘째, 문화체육관광부 산하에 장애인 문화지원을 전담하는 독립된 장애인문화국의 설치가 필요하다. 셋째, 주기적으로 장애인의 문화 활동과 문화욕구에 관한 전국단위의 실태조사가 요구된다.

  • In this paper we extend Takahashi's fixed point theorem on discrete semigroups to general semi-topological semigroups. Next we define the semi-asymptotic non-expansive action of semi-topological semi-groups to give a partial affirmative answer to an open problem raised by A.T-M. Lau.

경북여성정책제언을 위한 기초 조사 -가족생활.경제활동을 중심으로- (A Pilot study of Kyongbuk Womens Policy Development)

  • This study is designed to extent the investigation of the Kyongbuk Womens policy the area of family life and womens economic activity. Results indicated that the primary barriers of getting a job for married women was child rearing and the diffency of working information. On the family life, communication patterns were contributed to the problem of the relationship between child and parent, and spouse relationship. And also, school violence was founded the hot problem. The results underscore the importance of child rearing support system, and affirmative action in womens employment enviroment, Family Life Educator and Family Counselor.

The Effect of Consumers' Personal Characteristics on Attitude toward Social Commerce: Focused on the Theory of Reasoned Action

  • Purpose - This study investigated the effect of consumers' personal characteristics on their attitude toward social commerce focusing on the theory of reasoned action. Specifically, consumers' personal characteristics were further classified into personal characteristics, personal values concerning social commerce consumption, and consumption emotion concerning social commerce. Research Design, Data, and Methodology - The study investigated the relationship among consumers' personal characteristics, and the personal values of affirmative beliefs and attitudes of individuals toward social commerce based on the theory of reasoned action. A total of 151copies question nairewere evaluated, after excluding 13 copies having poor answers. Results - Consumers' personal characteristics were found to have a significant positive effect on their attitude toward social commerce. In addition, the most important personal characteristic affecting consumers' attitude toward social commerce was utilitarian value. Consumers' personal values were found to have a significant positive moderating effect between shopping value (i.e., hedonic and utilitarian values) and their attitude toward social commerce. Conclusion - The findings suggest that consumers' attitudes when trading with social commerce are affected by utilitarian value, and that companies should increase consumers' shopping value and build positive value about social commerce itself.

간호조무사의 근무환경인식과 성격성향에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Working Environment Recognition and the Caracter Disposition of Nurse Aides)

  • As the whole world took on the tendency to be highly industrialized, it became necessary for each field of occupation to require professional man power. Especially, since the World War n, the participation of woman power in economic activities has been continually increasing. In our country also, because of the rapid economic growth, change in the way of thinking of women as well as their participation in economic activities are increasing. Thus, woman power is being utilized in various occupational fields from simple physical labor to those that require high-professional skill. Also, continued economic development policies, by setting the establishment of welfare society as the ideology to be fulfilled, brought expansion of medical facilities in the field of public health and increase in man power in that field. As for the nursing specialists, more than 6000 have been being produced per year and as of the end of 1988, the total number of nursing specialists, reached 123, 115. Therefore, this study is done to recognize the professional knowledge and ability of nursing specialists, who take up $40\%$ of the total public-health related man power in our country, through evaluating their working environment and their disposition of character. This study, which was done from September 18th to September 30th 1989, took on the method of using formed questionnaires that had been amended and supplemented during two preparatory investigations, 322 of such questionnaires were used as an analytical material. In the formation of questionnaires, 12 questions were related to the working environment, and 26 in fortotal were related to the disposition of character, 5 for wise-disposition, 11 for activedisposition and 10 for open-disposition. The measuring method, which used 5-point-standard, allowed 5 points for affirmative recognition of the working environment, also 5 points for showing wise, active and open disposition of character and only point in opposite cases. Collected materials were analyzed, through an electronic calculation, into the average value, the standard deflection percentage, pearson corelative number and stepwise multiple regression. Summarizing the results from this study is as follows: 1. It was shown that the nursing specialists with the average of 3.07 have affirmative recognition of their working environment. The questions which drew most affirmative reaction were those concerning finance-management system such as hand, the questions that received negative reaction were those concerning communication method with the average of 2.49. Such reaction seems to have resulted from the cramming regulation by the superior authorities. Concerning the recognition of working environment in relation to employment conditions, more affirmative recognition is shown with the average of 3.14. at hospitals where injection job is not performed. The nursing specialists working at regular hospitals show more affirmative recognition than those at general hospitals, the averages being respectiely 3.16 and 3.03. 2. As for the disposition of character of the nursing specialists, active-disposition was highest with the average of 3.38, next was wise-disposition with 3.20 and the lowest was open-diposition with 2.98. Variable-wise disposition of character shows that wise-disposition and academic background are beneficially correlated by 0.12. Ative-disposition and open-disposition show correlation to the office term by respectively 0.16 and 0.21. In other words. better academic background leads to higher wise-disposition and more - experience results in higher active and open disposition. Also, the class that performs the injection job, in relation to the working environment, might cause change in the self-conceit that identify those in that class with the nurses; however, as far as professional judgment and action, in dealing with nursing job, being wise, active and open is concerned, not much effect is made. 3. The relation between the recognition of the working environment and the disposition of character is that more afirmative recognition- a nursing specialist has about her working environment, the higher the active-disposition becomes by 0.13. The degrees of the relation between recongnition of environment and wise and open dispositions show respectively 0.06 and -0.06 and -0.06. That is to say that when having more affirmative recognition of the working environment, a nursing specialist shows wise but closed disposition of character. This, howerver, didn't mean much statistically. When observing the results mentioned above, it is conspicuous that the nursing specialists, working as substitutes for the nurse at medical institutions of various sizes, get the feeling of being somewhat equal to the nurses and to some extent, fulfill their desire to accomplish their ego; however, as far as professional ability expansion if concerned. they lack wise and open dispositions. Therefore, considiering upon the results of this study, in medical institutions where the work of nursing specialists is regaded equal to that of the nurses, as a medical member who deals with human lives, it is desirable to make the nursing specialists work under the supervision of the nurses and to offer them continuous education to strengthen and improve their natural dispositions.
