Xibo4u: Digital Signage for Personalized Advertisement (Xibo4u: 개인맞춤형 광고를 지원하는 디지털 사이니지)

  • Digital Signage is a service which displays a variety of information or advertizement on digital display connected with communication network in commercial or public places. In this paper, We present a digital signage software solution named Xibo4u providing personalized advertisement. Xibo4u is composed of a server managing category and contents of advertisement, digital displays showing advertisement based on the categories specific to customers, and a smartphone application which enables customers to designate their favorite categories of advertisement. Xibo4u is developed by extending the Xibo open source software.

The Actual Condition and Role Recognition of Fashion Sales Related Persons in Women's Ready-to-Wear Shop (여자 기성복 매장의 패션 판매종사자의 실태와 역할인식)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the actual condition of fashion sales related persons and analyze their different role recognition in women's Ready-To-Wear shops. A questionnaire was administered to 378 fashion sales related persons in department stores and individual shops. Data were analyzed by using crosstabs, $X^2$, t-test, Scheffe's test and ANOVA by using of SPSS PC program. The results of this study were as follows: 1. In the role of fashion salespersons, managers participated highly in the merchandise buying plan, actual merchandise buying and advertisement, and shopmasters participated in the management of salespersons and keeping good relation with customers and display. 2. There was significant difference according to the existence of shopmasters in sales promotion. Shops with shopmasters had regular sales and filed up customer cards. 3. Shopmasters and salespersons attached importance to fashion information, market information, sales result information, and managers attached importance to customer information, enterprise environment information in utilizing of informations. Managers considered customer survey very important but shopmasters and salespersons did not. Shopmasters, managers, and salespersons all attached importance to customers' preference survey as customers' information source. 4. There were significant differences in lifestyle survey, buying method survey, preference survey, street fashion survey, brand identity survey and advertizement effect survey of customers by the different roles of fashion salespersons. 5. There were significant differences in the degree of merchandise knowledge, service and after service in sales service recognition by the different roles of fashion salespersons.

Demand and Supply Forecast of Milk and the Consumer's Attitude for Milk Purchase (우유수급예측(牛乳需給豫測)과 소비자(消費者)의 우유구매태도(牛乳購買態度))

  • The purpose of this research are to forecast the demand and supply of milk in Korea, and to obtain information for attitudes affecting milk consumption, which is necessary to make a plan for increasing milk consumption in Korea. The estimation of the milk demand and production was made by the multiplicative decomposition method and the statistical function. Data on consumer were collected from 737 students who were attending primary school, middle school and university in Daejeon during the period of July 11 to July 21, 1988. The results obtained are as follows; 1. The prediction results showed that the production for milk will over supply 21,900 tons in 1,990, 70,800 tons in 1,995 by the multiplicative decomposition method and 45,400 tons in 1990, -51,500 tons in 1995 by the statistical function. 2. It was found that almost all the students awared milk as essential food-stuff of common food stuff for the Koreans. 3. Quite a few students were apt to believe that milk processors added water into fluid milk. 4. Most students showed obtaining information about the nutritional value of milk by school education and advertising of TV, Radio, and Printed media. 5. However, it was found that the advertising by TV, Radio, and Printed media did hardly give to consumers influences on the choice of a particular milk brand. Accordingly, the conclusions are as follows; 1. Need to provide consumers with well planned education programs on the nutritional value of milk. 2. Heavy brand advertising for fluid milk may mislead the understanding of consumer, since city milk is not much differentiated in Korea. Therefore the milk processors should put more efforts in generic milk promotion by reducing brand advertizement. 3. The milk processors should provide major portion of financing for generic milk promotion program.

  • In this paper, we had tried to study advertising method of local industry in cooperation with SNS (Social Network Service). In particular, This paper analyzes the Facebook Page trying to find a way to take advantage of the local advertising. To analyse the Facebook page, I had created three Facebook pages such as at Hongik UNIV., Gangwon National UNIV., and specialities in Cuncheon cities. While I was managing the three pages, I had analyzed the results of quantities of activities, and in addition, had used NodeXL for the analysis of the network for the each page. After the analysis of the data of each page, I had found the possibility of the promotion for the successful the local advertizement associated with SNS. To verify and develop the results of my study, I had designed the " real time local advertising APP which is connected with SNS like Facebook, had created server program based on PHP, Android APP. In the future, I have found that there must be a lot of possibilities for the successful and various the local advertising methodologies by using SNS like Facebook, the operational data of the App.

Effect of Sex Appeal Advertising (섹스어필 광고의 효과)

  • Study on how a visual image of sex-appealing advertisement is meaningfully functioned and how customers recognize it is necessary but preceding studies about it are not sufficient. Therefore, this study analyzed effect of advertisement and its reaction according types of visual expression in sex-appealing advertisement and also, it found effective expression type of sex-appealing advertisement. As the result, according to appealing types of eroticism and pornograph, attitude on advertizement and intention of purchase showed difference and according to expressing types, there was difference in attitude on advertisement, attitude on brand, and intention of purchase. But there was not interactive effect between appealing type and expressing type. Such results implied that in using eroticism advertisement strategy, white and black color had higher expressing effect than natural color, to raise effect of brand, artistic sense and eroticism strategy were needed, and to raise intention of purchase, naked expression of pornograph was more effective.

  • This study attempts to investigate the IT utilization and e-business level of the small and medium companies in order to facilitate their e-commerce efforts. Results show that they have basic IT infrastructures such as internet and PC, but they use their IT resources mainly for office automations. Major problems with such low level of IT utilization are in their lack of manpower, skill, and fund. Considering above issues, web hosting service is believed as a good measure to alleviate their problems. Hence, this paper suggests that utilization of the web-based ASP can be a viable solution for the currently revealed issues. Also, development of creative IT application(business) cases and their advertizement can lead small and medium finns to more productive IT investments, which requires more diverse IT performance measurements such as BSC(balanced scorecard), other than traditional ROI.

  • The study aimed to evaluate an activity-oriented extracurricular science program as informal science education through the assessment of opinions of student participants and lead-students and lead-teachers who organized the program. An 'Exciting Science Fair' was designed by science teachers and students and provided for 857 students for two days in early 1998. Students chose a course of science activities designed by different levels of student knowledge and interests. During their own science activity courses, the participating students were grouped as pair of two students and guided and facilitated by lead-students. A survey instrument was developed by researchers and asked respondents' opinions of 121 participating students, 72 lead-students, and 19 lead-teachers to the significance of program goals, degree of goal achievement, and program planning and management system before and after the program. It was found that most student participants, lead-students and lead-teachers satisfied with the efficiency of the program. However, it was recommended that the program should place more emphases on engaging student participants in science activities, strengthening scientific inquiry through activities, and increasing science content related to student daily life. It was also suggested that advertizement of the program be publicized in advance through media, an effect teaching-learning strategy for lead-students be developed, and collaboration among lead-students and lead-teachers be improved.

A Survey on Food Purchasing Behavior among Middle School Students (중학생의 식품 구매 행동 실태)

  • The purpose of this study was to provide basic data for developing nutrition education program focusing on the health-oriented food choice and purchase which affect the adolescents' health. The data was collected by means of questionnaire from the total of 273 students who were living in cities and myun district and final 253 questionnaires were analyzed by using the SPSS/WIN 10.0 program. The results are summarized as follows. First, the major source of information on food was mass media, especially advertisement and students spent $20{\sim}30%$ of allowance on food purchase. The students purchased cookies or ice cream mainly, once every 2-3 days at the store near house, after school, for appeasing hunger or thirst. The influence of gender, mother's education level, economic status of family, the amount of allowance, the period of receiving allowance, the details of allowance recording, school location on food purchasing behavior were significant(p<.05). Second, the price and taste were the most important factors when the students purchase food. Nutrition and food sanitation/safety were considered less important by the students. The factors considered when the students purchase food were significantly different between Sender, father and mother's education level, and the amount of allowance(p<.05). Third, middle school students' food purchase behavior were influenced by advertizement, friends, parents. The influence of advertisement, friends, parents when the students purchase food were significantly different between gender, mother's career, economic status of family, and the amount of allowance(p.<05). From tile result of this study, the middle school students consider price and taste more than the other factors related nutrition and health in purchasing foods. Therefore, it will be necessary to develope and enforce nutrition education program focusing on how to choose and purchase safe, nutritious, delicious and cheap foot for adolescents.
