Many farmers apply cattle slurry on grassland, often in excess of crop N requirements, resulting in groundwater contamination. Our research objective was the development of grassland management systems that reduce undesirable sideeffects on other compartment of the ecosystem. Field experiment was conducted during 1991~1993 on sandy loam soil at AllgZiu south western Germany. Different sets of conditions were tested such as : zero fertilization, reduced sluny application$(l20kg N ha^{-1}yr^{-1})$, intensive sluny application(conventional sluny application, $240kg N ha^{-1}yr^{-1}$). The plots of the reduced slurry application had no significant effect on dry matter yields, digestible dry matter and net energy of herbage. Dry matter yield of zero fertilization was significantly lower than that of usual slurry application, however the content of Ca and Mg in herbage tended to increase. We conclude that reduced sluny application can be applied on grassland without adverse effects on dry matter production and quality of herbage.

Several enzyme were applied to Laubholz Bleached Kraft Pulp(LBKP) to evaluate the influence on beatability which was measured in Schopper Riegler value, and the results were compared with untreated pulp. Among the types of enzyme, cellulase was found to be the most effective. Addition of cellulase increased the beatability by 28% at optimum condition. Strength properties such as tensile strength and folding endurance also increased with enzymatic treatment by 12% and 46%, respectively. However, excessive dosage of cellulase had an adverse effect on strength properties in spite of the high beatability. Fibrillization by cellulase and destruction of fiber by excessive reaction was observed by Scanning Electron Microscopy(SEM).

Postherpetic neuralgia (PHN) is a debilitating complication of herpes zoster, especially in elderly and comorbid patients. Unfortunately, the currently available treatments have shown limited efficacy and some adverse events that are poorly tolerated in elderly patients. Scrambler Therapy, proposed as an alternative treatment for chronic neuropathic pain recently, is a noninvasive approach to relieve pain by changing pain perception at the brain level. Here, we report our clinical experiences on the effect of Scrambler Therapy for three patients with PHN refractory to conventional treatment.

To investigate the efficacy, tolerance of Vibramycin Precon PT-122 M and to determine the nature, incidence and severity of side effects of this formulation, 19 patients with urogenital infections were studied. 1. Vibramycin Precon PT-122 M reduced the signs and symptoms of various urogenital infections so as to determine the overall efficacy as good or satisfactory. 2. Intravenous injection of PT-122 M was generally well tolerated in all patients except 2 case of discontinuation because of adverse effect. 3. PT-122 M showed mild to moderate side effects but clinical features ana response to therapy were not influencea by those side effects.

In this study, fiber mechanical pretreatment before refining was executed with the addition of papermaking addiditives to find synergistic effects on fiber property improvement. Three fiber furnishes (SwBKP, KOCC, and BCTMP), and five different additives (CMC, CPAM, PEO, NaOH, $Na_2O_2$) were used. It was confirmed again that fiber mechanical pretreatment using Hobart mixer was a special way to modify fiber properties, where fiber WRV (water retention value) increases without losing fiber length. For SwBKP, addition of small amount of CMC (0.2％ OD basis), and for KOCC, PEO (0.2％ OD basis) caused additional significant improvement of the fiber furnish properties, respectively. Other additives did not cause adverse effects on the mechanical pretreatment, or better. For BCTMP, NaOH addition followed by mechanical pretreatment caused more than 20％ improvement in tensile and tear strength simultaneously, compared to the control. The yellowing caused by the treatment of NaOH on BCTMP could be minimized by using $Na_2O_2$ without losing the positive effect of NaOH.

Barium suspension, oral iodine contrast medium and water were applied in eight dogs to evaluate (1) distension of gastrointestinal tract, (2) the effect of the oral contrast media on the identification of the pancreas from surrounding organs, and (3) image quality and the presence of artifacts in canine pancreas computed tomography (CT) images. Oral iodine contrast medium, gastrografin, produced significant artifacts that deteriorated the CT images of the pancreas. The use of water did not provide the fullness of the gastrointestinal lumens. Barium suspension was effective for the identification of the pancreas from the surrounding gastrointestinal tract, without significantly increasing image noise. Barium suspension can be used as an optimal contrast medium that will not cause an adverse effect on the pancreatic density and image quality.

The growth characteristics of Candida tropicalis KIST 351 on gas oil substrate under different culture conditions were investigated and the preliminary animal feeding experiments using this yeast as a partial substitute of fish meal was also conducted. The yeast assimilates effectively n-paraffins in gas oil ranging from $C_{16}$ to $C_{16}$ with its maximum cell growth at $33^{\circ}C$ and pH 5.5 with aeration of 3 vvn and agitation of 900 rpm. The optimal concentrations of nitrogen sources, $HK_2PO_4$ and $Na_2HPO$ were 4, 2 and 0.5g/1, respectively. Ferrous sulfate, manganese sulfate and zinc sulfate showed positive effect to cell growth with the optimal range of 5-10 ppm. In the feeding experiment with 3 and 5% incorporation of the gas oil grown yeast, neither adverse effects on growth of chicks nor toxic effect were observed. Protein content of the dried cell was 58.8% and its amino acid composition compared well with other single-cell protein products and FAO reference protein.

Asthma is considered a chronic inflammatory airway disease. Mounting evidence reports that patients with asthma are at significantly higher risk of developing communicable diseases such as invasive pneumococcal disease, Haemophilus influenza, varicella, measles, pertussis and tetanus. While impaired innate immunity may play a role in increased risk of developing these infections, suboptimal adaptive immune responses have also been reported to play a role in asthmatic subjects with regard to increased risk of infections. This review discusses the currently underrecognized immunological effect of asthma on antibody to vaccines and recommends that clinicians be aware of less optimal antibody production in response to vaccines in subjects with asthma.

Objectives This case reports the effect of Modified Hyeongbangjiwhang-tang for essential tremor after total vaginal hysterectomy. Methods The patient was treated with Modified Hyeongbangjiwhang-tang three times a day. To differentiate other diseases, we took her medical history. And, we used the Verbal Numerical Rating Scale (VNRS) and Gastrointestinal Symptom Rating Scale (GSRS) to assess tremor and gastrointestinal symptoms. Results Treatment with modified Hyeongbangjiwhang-tang resulted in a decrease in the patient's complaints of symptoms. Also, VNRS and GSRS scale were improved. Adverse effects were not observed. Conclusions Modified Hyeongbangjiwhang-tang may be effective for essential tremor after total vaginal hysterectomy.

Air Pollution is increasing in Korea due to recent factory and environmental pollution and desertification in China. People are said to be wearing masks or reducing outdoor activities, but there is little effect on quarantine. Therefore, in order to clean up Air Pollution that has an adverse effect on the body, the government is planning to design a Prototype, an Air Pollution measuring system based on the Internet of Things.
