The purpose of this study was to support for quality improvement of educational curriculum on hospital administrator through the comparison of competence of new employee and need of field experts based on NCS. The participants of this study were implemented the self-report survey about competency and need on job skills of hospital administrator. According to the comparison, it is defined the point that is needed curriculum improvement and the competency gap between hospital and university hospital. This is support to be establish the base for the qualified education and training program for hospital administrators. NCS is useful as standardized tool for identify the gap between need and competency and as suggestion for education improvement of hospital administrator.

In Germany, community based daycare facilities has been supported by long term care policies since the 1970s. With the legislation of Care Insurance, those policy has been developed further. As the use of daycare facilities decreased and the financial burden for consumers increased, administrators of facilities has been seeking for innovative programs and management methods in order to improve the service. For the same reason, policy makers have been pursuing new regulations of architectural standards of facilities. By looking at legislations (i.e., Law of Care Insurance, Law of Heim, and DIN18025) that stipulate architectural standard of facilities in Germany, this study will identify the development process of architectural change of daycare facilities. In addition, the study aims to contribute to the discussion on the use of day care facilities in Korea in terms of the legislation of Care Insurance soon to be introduced.

A decision support system is introduced for the efficient operation of port container terminals. It consists of ship planning subsystem, yard planning subsystem, resource management subsystem, real-time control subsystem, and simulation subsystem. The system is intended to support the planning process of the planners and the operation process of the administrators in the container terminals. It is assumed that the transfer cranes and the yard tractor/trailers are used to handle containers in the marshaling yard. The system is explained in terms of the functions of each subsystem and the data flows among various subsystems.

This paper introduces an Internet-based generic simulator for outpatient clinics, named PIOS (Postech Internet-based Outpatient Simulator). Unlike other simulation tools, PIOS is operated on the Internet, is straightforward to use for outpatient process analysis, and is open to public via http://logistics.postech.ac.kr/pios with free of charge. Therefore, non-simulation expert users such as hospital administrators and managers can easily access to PIOS and conduct simulation study by themselves. In this paper, we describe the main components and programming logic of PIOS, and demonstrate its validity by comparing the output results of PIOS and a commercial software package.

The purpose of this study is to evaluate of the perception, elements and quality level of business strategy in domestic hospitals. We analyze survey data about strategy. Significantly, we find that domestic hospitals were greatly feeling about the necessity and importance of strategy, but elements and quality level of actual execution strategy is much lower. When evaluating level on the perception, elements and quality of strategy within each of Miles and Snow's strategy type, PA(prospector+analyzer) was higher than DR(defender+reactor). And result of structural equation modeling(SEM), elements had a significant influence on the quality of the strategy, a positive relationship between the components and the PA have been identified. Therefore, we propose that to increase the elements level in order to improve the quality level of strategy, and hospital administrators are need to be PA rather than DR.

This paper proposes a mobile augmented reality mashup for cultural heritage sites such as natural monuments. Several benefits of mobile augmented reality solutions are ideal for preserving and protecting cultural heritage sites. By presenting mobile augmented reality mashup scenarios and mobile mashup framework, we introduce how user-generated multimedia contents can be added. We present two scenarios of Mashup Viewer and Mashup Maker. In Mashup Viewer mode, visitors can create new AR contents using mashup tools for memo, Twitter, images and statistical graphs. In Mashup Maker mode, other visitors also can view the user-generated multimedia AR contents using QR codes as access points. To show feasibility of our approach in mobile platforms, we compare several detection algorithms on PC and mobile platform and report on deployment of our approach in a natural monument museum. With our proposed mashup tools, visitors to the cultural heritage sites can enjoy default AR contents provided by the site administrators and also participate as active content producers and consumers.

Auditing plays a very important role in the process of developing and managing good quality software. The software developing proces should be audited precisely especially in the test phase. Up to the present, because auditing has depended on the auditor's experience of developing and auditing software, it has been impossible to audit objectively. It is limited to audit systematically and objectively because auditing process isn't systematized. In this paper, the auditing model to solve several problems in present auditing is suggested, a test phase audit system is developed, and the system is applied to the actual auditing process. Consequently, software administrators can establish effective software management, software developers can be supported by a highly reliable and quality software development tool, and auditors can be offered an objective audit standard.

QFD (Quality Function Development) provides a great tool not only to arrange and evaluate VoC(Voice of Customers) and ) and (Voice of Engineers), but also to link and combine VoC and VoE, thereby present ing explicit direct ions for quality improvement. There have been, however, few researches on QFD in the IT industry The case study discussed here serves an illustration of the applicability and usefulness of the QFD approach to website quality improvement . The proposed QFD framework shows great potentials since customers needs are explicitly considered in the framework, and it helps network administrators develop better web services by providing guidelines for redesigning or reengineering the website operations.

With the globalization trend in S&T activities, Korean research organizations have begun to utilize foreign researchers. The performance of foreign researchers is generally regarded satisfactory, but there are many problems too. Moreover, there has not been any research carried out even though there is a growing need for the management of foreign researchers. This paper identified the performance / motivation factors of foreign researchers in Korean research organizations. The statistical results show that the efforts and research capabilities are the most important variables for performance of foreign researchers in Korean research organization. In addition, it is found out that university shows higher performance than government research institute and corporate research organization while it pays the least to the foreign researchers. It is interesting to see that the level of monetary payment is not strongly related with the performance of foreign researchers. In order to utilize the full potential of foreign researchers, it is necessary to enhance the living infrastructure. In addition, due attention should be given to the managerial capabilities of R&D administrators and evaluation/incentive systems of foreign researchers in Korean research organizations.

This research examines the characteristics of incubating organizations of hi-tech ventures in the information technology industry. In particular, it attempts to investigate incubating conditions under which entrepreneurs obtain their management abilities and market information, locate business partners and prepare the prototypes of their new products. For the empirical test, three incubator organizations, two universities (Seoul National University and Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology ) and a government research institute (ETRI: Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute) are compared in terms of incubating conditions. It is found that two universities are not different in terms of lab members' demographic characteristics and their attitude towards venture creation. However, the entrepreneurial environments of incubator organizations are different between the universities and ETRI. The universities have more favorable environments than ETRI in terms of management know-how or capabilities, while ETRI has more favorable environments than the universities in terms of the information about markets, distribution channels or customers. The results of this study would provide many policy implementations to administrators of incubator organizations as well as government policy-makers in making effective venture-creation policies.
