  • Thermal spraying is one of the most common surface coating techniques to be used for many applications and flame spraying covers a wide range of different materials which can be coated onto various substrates. The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of mixed ratio in composite coatings on the mechanical and anti-corrosion properties. The five different types of composite coatings were made with $Al_2O_3$ ceramic and Ni-alloy powder on the mild steel substrate by flame spraying method. The mechanical properties such as microhardness, adhesive strength and erosion resistance and corrosion resistance were tested for the sprayed coating specimens. The results obtained are summarized as follows; 1. The composite coating layers greatly improve the microstructure, erosion resistance and adhesive strength by increasing the content of Ni-Al alloy. 2. Microhardness of the compsite coating layer is decreased by increasing the content of Ni-Al alloy. 3. The anti-corrosion properties is considerably improved by increasing the compsite rate of Ni-Al alloy.

  • The conductive polymers, polyaniline (PANI) emeralidin base and 3,4-polyethylene dioxythiophene(PEDOT) were synthesized and coated on the PET film dealt with acryl type primer to study the electromagnetic shielding effectiveness. When both PANI and PEDOT were coated on the PET film dealt with acryl type priemer, their surface properties such as he adhesive increased. For PANI, when blended with the binder such as PMMA, it adhesive and surface hardness increased, too. The visible light transmittance decreased, while the electromagnetic shielding effectiveness increased, when coated thickness of PANI and PEDOT increased. For PANI, the electromagnetic shielding effectiveness increased as its surface resistance decreased. For PANI, when the surface resistance was 140 Ω/$\square$, the shielding effectiveness was found to be 11 dB in the far field, and 13 dB in the near field at 1 GHz. For PEDOT, when the surface resistance was 200 Ω/$\square$, the shielding effectiveness was found to be 3 dB in the far field, and 7dB in the near field.

  • In this study, LVLs of radiata pine were fabricated with non-preservative treated veneers, CuAz treated veneers, and ACQ treated veneers, using aqueous vinyl urethane adhesive and phenol modified resorcinol resin adhesive. Then density gradient, bonding strength, bending properties and decay resistance of LVLs were evaluated. As results, the cone-shaped and higher density gradient pattern was found in layer close to glueline. After cyclic water boiled test, the LVL bonded with aqueous vinyl urethane resin adhesive was delaminated in all layers or partly delaminated including check, chasm in glueline layer. In the case of LVL bonded with phenol modified resorcinol resin adhesive, despite slight cupping due to great glueline stress and vertical check between glueline layers, it was observed that the bonding strength to delamination was higher, owing to most absence of delamination through overall glueline. On the other hand, in the decay test, mass loss by brown rot fungi was greater than white rot fungi in LVL bonded with aqueous vinyl urethane resin adhesive. However, in LVL bonded with phenol modified resorcinol resin adhesive, the mass loss by brown rot fungi was slight and non-preservative treated LVL was low. The mass loss of preservative-treated LVL was 0 (zero), showing the high decay resistance effect.

  • Urethane, epoxy, acrylic have common property to adhere on the concrete dried surface in the waterproofing materials at present. In the wet condition, however, the materials such as urethane, epoxy, acrylic need a long hardening time and it become a reason of water leakage as the materials breaking down. it is one of the problem to adhere to the substrate. Therefore, in this thesis, I focused to assure the structural safety and durability and quality for waterproofing and safe of construction cost by cut down the cost of labor and reduce the term of works as searching the application of field condition for high adhesive spray type of degenerated and rubberized asphalt membrane material.

  • There still exist adhesives that have toxic compounds or consist of those materials in both our life and lots of industries. For instance, formaldehyde adhesive had been still used for woodworking and some medical adhesives had been considered as toxicity problems. In this situation, natural adhesives from raw materials have been suggested as an one of considerable interests. Natural adhesives in recent have been reported fabrication methods via biological materials such as proteins, celluloses, and starches. By-products derived from agricultural something have them richly and each has additional special properties. Using these properties to make natural adhesives, unique adhesives would be attained. In particular, rice-based adhesive is such a good example. Rice-based by-product adhesives have interestingly some pros pertaining to high adhesive strength, excellent water resistance and could dramatically be reduced a formaldehyde a harmful component of plywood. Hence, rice-based adhesive like glues could be applied to lots of industries including agricultural and biological technology. This review paper highlighted some recent development on natural adhesives as a promising biomaterial for agricultural and biological technology fields. The design of agricultural by-product-based natural adhesives were described to demonstrate the application of agricultural and biological technology

  • Hot-melt adhesive was solid phase in room temperature as 100% solid contents. So it has advantage which attach to substrate with the low pressure heat, fast adhesion speed and environment friendly. In this study, We studied about the effect of a kind of SBS resin and petroleum resin as a tackifier resin and their ratio for hot-melt adhesive on properties. The styrene and $C_9$ resin contents in hot-melt adhesive was increased with increasing viscosity, tensile strength, peel strength and thermal resistance.

  • There has been growing interest and rapid development in transparent electrode films, which are flexible and light and used in mobile, simple information, and electronic devices, and based on recent advancements in nano technology, information technology, and display technology. In particular, studies on developing such films with both high conductivity and high transmittance of visible rays are highly in demand for commercialization. In this study, transparent electrode films were developed for IT using micro patterns that show sheet resistance less than 10 Ω/□, adhesive strength more than 98%, and light transmittance more than 90%. The results of applying a surface emission gradient minimization (Honey Comb) technology to the films was the verification of the sheet resistance, adhesive strength, and light transmittance satisfying the target level of this study through Imprinting and Remolding processes.

  • In this study, we investigated the reliability of anisotropic conductive paste (ACP) and anisotropic conductive films (ACF), which are anisotropic conductive adhesives, applied to automotive touch panels. Adhesive material is also important as a key factor in assembling the touch panel. In order to measure the resistance change of the parts in two kinds of high temperature test, the reliability of the two types of anisotropic conductive adhesives was compared and evaluated through the results of the resistance change. For 615 hours of reliability testing, the anisotropic conductive film exhibited a higher stability in a high temperature environment than the anisotropic conductive paste.

  • The introduction of zirconia-based materials to the dental field broadened the design and application limits of, all-ceramic restorations. Most ceramic restorations are adhesively luted to the prepared tooth, however, resin bonding to zirconia components is less reliable than those to other dental ceramic systems. It is important for high retention, prevention of microleakage, and increased fracture resistance, that bonding techniques be improved for zirconia systems. Strong resin bonding relies on micromechanical interlocking and adhesive chemical bonding to the ceramic surface, requiring surface roughening for mechanical bonding and surface activation for chemical adhesion. In many cases, high strength ceramic restorations do not require adhesive bonding to tooth structure and can be placed using conventional cements which rely only on micromechanical retention. However, resin bonding is desirable in some clinical situations. In addition, it is likely that strong chemical adhesion would lead to enhanced long-term fracture and fatigue resistance in the oral environment.
