  • According to the plan on Defense Computer Network, hundreds of troops and ten thousands of end users will be joined in the Defense Computer Networn the near future. Thus, we need hierarchical addressing methods between source station and destination station in order to send a message efficiently. On the basis of the above background, we proposed the addressing methods for both TCP/IP environment which is a current standard protocol and OSI environment which will be a future protocol in this paper. The network interface. routings and address management have considered in our proposed addressing methods.

  • Heat waves are not new, but due to climate change, the probability of occurrence and severity of heat waves increases, which results in more adverse impacts and damages on local community. Accordingly, the need to tackle heat waves in a more comprehensive and precautionary manner increases. Our study therefore lays emphasis on 1) a long-term plan which not only includes short-term plans in response to the observed damages, but also incorporates relevant sectors to deal with potential impacts in longer term perspective; and 2) a mechanism to manage and adjust the plan in a sustainable manner. In doing so, it examines the impacts of heatwaves and existing plans to tackle them. Based on that, two key conceptual frameworks, namely policy integration and adaptive management, are applied to provide strategies for the development and management of a long-term adapting heatwave plan addressing climate change.

  • This paper proposes an algorithm of address analysis for the next-generation networks. That is, we present integrated address analysis of the Numbering Plans of public telecommunication networks such as those of the ATM network. The purpose of implementing software for integrated address analysis is to actively and flexibly cope with a large change of information while operating the system and the network. By designing and implementing a database structure and an address analysis algorithm, interworking is possible among part (local) networks that each have a different Addressing Plan within an integrated network. Proposed relational model database structure has effect that do to manage address information of complicated network efficiently. Also, apply in real environment and proved excellency through interworking test to verify mechanism that propose.

  • The 10 Year Implementation Plan for a Global Earth Observation System of Systems (GEOSS), which was endorsed at the Third Earth Observation Summit in Brussels in February, 2005, emphasizes the importance of data management facilities for diverse and large-volume Earth Observation data from inhomogeneous information sources. A three year research plan for addressing this key target of GEOSS has just approved as the first step by the Japanese government. The goals of this research are, (1) to develop a data management core system consisting of data integration and information fusion functions and interoperability and information service functions; (2) to establish data and information flows between data providers and users; (3) to promote application studies of data integration and information fusion, especially in the fields of weather forecasting, flood forecasting, agricultural management, and climate variability and changes. The research group involves leading scientists on information science and technology, who have been developing giant data archive servers, storage area networks, metadata models, ontology for the earth observations. They are closely cooperating with scientists on earth sciences, water resources management, and agriculture, and establishing an effective collaborative research framework.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate what elementary teachers know about students' science misconceptions and how the teachers plan for and address their students' misconceptions in instruction. The sample included 61 teachers who participated in a teacher training program irrelative to science education. A questionnaire into which Gomez-Zwiep's semi-structured interview questions was transformed was used to examine the teachers' understandings of definition, origin, examples, and so on of science misconceptions, and their instructional strategies for addressing their students' misconceptions before and while instruction. The results showed that many teachers (about 60%) did not have appropriate understanding of students' misconceptions, that the majority of the teachers (about 75%) did not consider misconceptions at all before teaching science lessons, and that almost all the teachers (about 90%) did not know particular strategies specifically designed for misconceptions.

  • This study has identified human performance research issues associated with the implementation of new technology in nuclear power plants (NPPs). To identify the research issues, current industry developments and trends were evaluated in the areas of reactor technology, instrumentation and control technology, human-system integration technology, and human factors engineering (HFE) methods and tools. The issues were prioritized into four categories based on evaluations provided by 14 independent subject matter experts representing vendors, utilities, research organizations and regulators. Twenty issues were categorized into the top priority category. The study also identifies the priority of each issue and the rationale for those in the top priority category. The top priority issues were then organized into research program areas of: New Concepts of Operation using Multi-agent Teams, Human-system Interface Design, Complexity Issues in Advanced Systems, Operating Experience of New and Modernized Plants, and HFE Methods and Tools. The results can serve as input to the development of a long-term strategy and plan for addressing human performance in these areas to support the safe operation of new NPPs.

  • The ability to understand given environments and plan a sequence of actions leading to goal state is crucial for personal service robots. With recent advancements in deep learning, numerous studies have proposed methods for state representation in planning. However, previous works lack explicit information about relationships between objects when the state observation is converted to a single visual embedding containing all state information. In this paper, we introduce graph-based state representation that incorporates both object and relationship features. To leverage these advantages in addressing the task planning problem, we propose a Graph Neural Network (GNN)-based subgoal prediction model. This model can extract rich information about object and their interconnected relationships from given state graph. Moreover, a search-based algorithm is integrated with pre-trained subgoal prediction model and state transition module to explore diverse states and find proper sequence of subgoals. The proposed method is trained with synthetic task dataset collected in simulation environment, demonstrating a higher success rate with fewer additional searches compared to baseline methods.

  • The superficial circumflex iliac artery perforator (SCIP) flap is a versatile flap that has been described for various applications, mostly for lower extremity coverage and head and neck reconstructions. However, there are few publications reporting its use for breast reconstruction, mainly because of its low volume availability. In this article, we present the case of a patient who successfully underwent a partial breast and immediate nipple-areola complex (NAC) reconstruction with an SCIP flap. She had been previously reconstructed with an implant after a nipple-sparing mastectomy, but the NAC turned out to be involved with cancer needing further resection. Our goal with this article, is to introduce a novel concept for addressing partial breast and NAC reconstruction and mostly, to illustrate the importance of an adaptable surgical plan based on every individual case emphasizing the versality of microsurgery for breast cancer reconstruction.
