Na 과잉 첨가에 따른 (Na, K)(Nb, Sb)O3 세라믹스의 유전 및 압전 특성 (Dielectric and Piezoelectric Characteristics of the (Na,K)(Nb,Sb)O3 Ceramics as a Function of Na Excess Addition)

  • In this study, lead-free $(K_{0.5}Na_{0.5+X})(Nb_{0.96}Sb_{0.04})O_3+0.2mol%La_2O_3+1.2mol%$ $K_4CuNb_8O_{23}$ (X= 0~0.025) ceramics were fabricated by normal sintering method at $1060^{\circ}C$ for 5 h. Microstructures, piezoelectric and dielectric properties of specimens were investigated with special emphasis in the influence of Na excess addition. The grain size of specimen was slightly decreased with increasing Na content. In the 2 [mol%] Na excess addition of NKNS ceramics, density, electromechanical coupling factor, piezoelectric constant and electromechancal quality factor of specimen were found to reach the optimum values of 4.25 [$g/cm^3$], 0.4357, 154.43 [pC/N] and 580, respectively.

  • The effects of B2O3 addition on the sintering behavior and th microwave dielectric properties of $(Mg_{0.93}Ca_{0.07})TiO_3$ ceramics were investigated. By addition of $B_2O_3$, increases the density of the ceramics increases and grain growth enhances, It was densified to over 94% of $(Mg_{0.93}Ca_{0.07})TiO_3$ theoretical density by the addition of 0.15-1.0wt% B2O3 and stable microwave dielectric properties observed by the addition of 0.2-0.4wt% $B_2O_3.\;(Mg_{0.93}Ca_{0.07})TiO_3$ ceramics sintered at $1200^{\circ}C$ exhibits maximum dielectric constants of 24-25 quality factor($Q{\times}f$) of more than 70000 and temperature coefficient of resonant frequency of $0\;ppm/^{\circ}C$ by adding of 0.15-0.4wt% $B_2O_3$.

With increasing amount of $MnO_2$ addition, density showed the maximum value of $5.79[gcm^3$] at 0.1wt% $MnO_2$ addition, and electromechanical coupling factor($k_p$) and dielectric constant decreased, and mechanical quality factor($Q_m$) increased and showed the maximum value of 161 at 0.3wt% $MnO_2$ addition.

  • Piezoelectric properties of PZT-PSN ceramics were investigated as a function of WO$_3$ addition from 0 wt% to 6.0 wt%. The dielectric and piezoelectric characteristics of PZT-PSN ceramics have been investigated at different calcination (80$0^{\circ}C$~90$0^{\circ}C$) and sintering (110$0^{\circ}C$~130$0^{\circ}C$) temperatures. The grain size was increased with the addition of WO$_3$and the sintering temperatures. Anisotropic properties of electromechanical coupling coefficient and piezoelectric coefficient are proven to be dependent on processing temperatures and amount of addition. At the specimen with 0.6 wt% WO$_3$ addition, using calcination temperature of 80$0^{\circ}C$ and sintering temperature of 110$0^{\circ}C$ , mechanical quality factor(Q$_{m}$) and electromechanical coupling coefficient(k$_{p}$) showed the excellent results of 1560 and 0.48, respectively Experimental results indicated that the PZT-PSN system ceramics with WO$_3$impurity could be effectively used for the microtransformer and actuator applications, etc.etc.

  • In this study, 0.96B $i_{0.5}$($Na_{0.84}$ $K_{0.16}$)$_{0.5}$Ti $O_3$ + 0.04SrTi $O_3$ + 0.3 wt% N $b_2$ $O_{5}$+0.2 wt% L $a_2$ $O_3$ + xwt % Mn $O_2$ were investigated as a function of the amount of Mn $O_2$ addition in order to improve dielectric and piezoelectric properties of Lead-free piezoelectric ceramics. With increasing the amount of Mn $O_2$ addition, the density, electromechanical coupling factor( $k_{p}$), piezoelectric constant( $d_{33}$, $g_{33}$) and curie temperature (Tc) showed the maximum value of 5.7 g/㎤, 38 %, 219 pC/N, 26 mVㆍm/N and 32$0^{\circ}C$ at 0.1 wt% Mn $O_2$ addition, respectively, and mechanical quality factor( $Q_{m}$ ) showed the maximum value of 158 at 0.3 wt% Mn $O_2$ addition.ddition.ion.n.

  • In this study, to develop the low temperature sintering ceramics for multilayer piezoelectric transformer, PSN-PNN-PZT system ceramics were manufactured as a function of CuO addition. Its dielectric and piezoelectric characteristics were investigated. With increasing the amount of CuO addition, grain size was increased and density increased until 0.3wt% CuO. Taking into consideration electromechanical coupling factor(kp) of 0.53, mechanical quality factor(Qm) of 423 and ${\epsilon}r$ of 1759, it can be cincluded that the CuO 0.5wt% added composition sintered at $920^{\circ}C$ is suitable for piezoelectric transformer application if Qm is improved.

  • In all conventional sintered PM products, the pores present are of two types, primary and secondary. Primary pores forming during compaction and latter during sintering, due to penetration of formed liquid through the matrix grain boundary. Effect of carbon addition on diffusion of Cu in SH737-2Cu system was investigated. After compaction and transient liquid phase sintering at $1120^{\circ}C$ and $1180^{\circ}C$, samples were characterized for densification, showing rise in sintering density and reduction in swelling on carbon addition. Quantitative microstructural characterization (shape factor and pore size) revealed bimodal distribution for 0% carbon, more rounded pores for 0.9% carbon and higher sintering temperature, and pore coarsening at higher sintering temperature.

Hypoxia Mediates Runt-Related Transcription Factor 2 Expression via Induction of Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor in Periodontal Ligament Stem Cells

  • Periodontitis is characterized by the loss of periodontal tissues, especially alveolar bone. Common therapies cannot satisfactorily recover lost alveolar bone. Periodontal ligament stem cells (PDLSCs) possess the capacity of self-renewal and multilineage differentiation and are likely to recover lost alveolar bone. In addition, periodontitis is accompanied by hypoxia, and hypoxia-inducible $factor-1{\alpha}$ ($HIF-1{\alpha}$) is a master transcription factor in the response to hypoxia. Thus, we aimed to ascertain how hypoxia affects runt-related transcription factor 2 (RUNX2), a key osteogenic marker, in the osteogenesis of PDLSCs. In this study, we found that hypoxia enhanced the protein expression of $HIF-1{\alpha}$, vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF), and RUNX2 ex vivo and in situ. VEGF is a target gene of $HIF-1{\alpha}$, and the increased expression of VEGF and RUNX2 proteins was enhanced by cobalt chloride ($CoCl_2$, $100{\mu}mol/L$), an agonist of $HIF-1{\alpha}$, and suppressed by 3-(5'-hydroxymethyl-2'-furyl)-1-benzyl indazole (YC-1, $10{\mu}mol/L$), an antagonist of $HIF-1{\alpha}$. In addition, VEGF could regulate the expression of RUNX2, as RUNX2 expression was enhanced by human VEGF ($hVEGF_{165}$) and suppressed by VEGF siRNA. In addition, knocking down VEGF could decrease the expression of osteogenesis-related genes, i.e., RUNX2, alkaline phosphatase (ALP), and type I collagen (COL1), and hypoxia could enhance the expression of ALP, COL1, and osteocalcin (OCN) in the early stage of osteogenesis of PDLSCs. Taken together, our results showed that hypoxia could mediate the expression of RUNX2 in PDLSCs via $HIF-1{\alpha}$-induced VEGF and play a positive role in the early stage of osteogenesis of PDLSCs.
