  • In this paper, we study almost complex Norden Silver manifolds and Kaehler-Norden Silver manifolds. We define adapted connections of first, second and third type to an almost complex Norden Silver manifold and establish the necessary and sufficient conditions for the integrability of almost complex Norden Silver structure. Moreover, we investigate that a complex Norden Silver map is a harmonic map between Kaehler-Norden Silver manifolds.

  • We study almost complex metallic Norden manifolds and their adapted connections with respect to an almost complex metallic Norden structure. We study various connections like special connection of the first type, special connection of the second type, Kobayashi-Nomizu metallic Norden type connection, Yano metallic Norden type connection etc., on almost complex metallic Norden manifolds. We establish classifications of almost complex metallic Norden manifolds by using covariant derivative of the almost complex metallic Norden structure and also by using torsion tensor on the canonical connections.

  • This study presents a recurrent compensatory fuzzy neural network (RCFNN) for dynamic system identification. The proposed RCFNN uses a compensatory fuzzy reasoning method, and has feedback connections added to the rule layer of the RCFNN. The compensatory fuzzy reasoning method can make the fuzzy logic system more effective, and the additional feedback connections can solve temporal problems as well. Moreover, an online learning algorithm is demonstrated to automatically construct the RCFNN. The RCFNN initially contains no rules. The rules are created and adapted as online learning proceeds via simultaneous structure and parameter learning. Structure learning is based on the measure of degree and parameter learning is based on the gradient descent algorithm. The simulation results from identifying dynamic systems demonstrate that the convergence speed of the proposed method exceeds that of conventional methods. Moreover, the number of adjustable parameters of the proposed method is less than the other recurrent methods.

  • To cope with channel variation, wireless networks such as IEEE 802.11 WLAN provide multiple transmission rates by employing different channel modulation and coding schemes. However, the coexistence of different transmission rates degrades the total system performance of the network. In order to eliminate this performance abnormality and improve protocol capacity, we propose a new Packet transmission algorithm, the RAT(Rate-Adapted Transmission) scheme. The RAT scheme distributes the wireless channel fairly based on the channel occupancy time. Moreover, it efficiently transmits packets even in a single station using rate-based queue management. Therefore, the RAT scheme obtains not only the inter-rate contention gain among stations but also the intra-rate contention gain among connections in a single station.

  • Grid environments provide the mechanism to share heterogeneous resources among nodes. Because of the similarity between grid environments and P2P networks, the structures of P2P networks can be adapted to enhance scalability and efficiency in deployment and to search for services. In this paper, we present a membership management based on a hierarchical ring which constructs P2P-like Grid environments. The proposed approach uses only a limited number of connections, reducing communication cost. Also, it only keeps local information for membership, which leads to a further reduction in management cost. This paper analyzes the performance of the approach by simulation and compares it with other approaches.

  • In today's pervasive computing environments, multimedia content should be adapted to meet various conditions of network connections, terminals, and user characteristics. Scalable Video Coding (SVC) is a key solution for video communication over heterogeneous networks, where user terminals have different capabilities. This paper presents a standard-compliant approach that adapts an SVC bitstream to support multiple users. The adaptation problem is formulated as an optimization problem, focusing on the tradeoff between qualities of different spatial layers of an SVC video. Then the adaptation process is represented by standard metadata of MPEG-21, which can be solved by universal processing to enable interoperable and automatic operation. Our approach provides the users with optimal quality, a wide flexibility, and seamless adaptation. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first study that shows the adaptation tradeoff between spatial layers of a conforming SVC bitstream.

  • In this paper, a rule checker which aids in composing a consistent knowledge base by checking redundancies and inconsistencies in a knowledge base is proposed. The proposed algorithm checks the rules by representing the rule connections as a network . The standard model of the rules adapted in this algorithm is in the Conjunctive Normal Form which includes NOT's, and rules of conventional expert system can be checked by converting them into the standard form by a rule form at converter. When compared with Ginsberg's KB-reducer which is conceptually most similar to the proposed algorithm among existing methods,it is shown by a computer simulation that with 360 rules, the checking time is three times faster and the rate increased as the number of rules increased, but the total memory requirement of the proposed agorithm is 1.2 times larger. The proposed algorithm has further advantages in that it can check circular rule chains and can find the paths of the redundant and inconsistent rules.

  • In this paper, we introduce the Partial Half-Through Type Plate Girder Bridge proposed by Hyundai Development Co. and KRTC Consortium in Turn-Key Based design last year, and this type of bridge may be adapted to the railway bridge under similar conditions. This bridge across the North Han River was to be concerned its find view and the protection of water source. For its location is inside the dam, it required the long span and the clearance for the flood also. Its new composite section was able to diminish the deflection and vibration. Its shop-fabrication could control its quality easily, and might to be launched. This structural type have satisfied its functions, construction situations, and overall safeties, so this is the field-oriented type. However the composition and connections of the proposed members are different to the recent forms, and difficult to be applied to present specifications. Therefore it requires a certification on the application for more safety by not only analytical verifications but also experimental studies. Nevertheless, this type of bridge may have some more applications from now on.

  • The DDoS attacks which are increasing recently must have many zombie PCs before attacking targeted systems by attacker. A zombie PC is infected by attacker's malignant code and may be operated by the his/her special malicious purposes. But most users generally don't know that their PCs are infected and used as zombies by illegal activities covertly. In this paper, we propose a new scheme that decreases vulnerable PCs and isolates them from Internet before being zombie PCs. The proposed scheme point the reputations of connected PCs and decide whether their Internet connections are keeping continuously or not. Also We show the figures how to infect susceptable PCs to zombie PCs, and analyze the decrease effects of DDoS attacks adapted by the proposed scheme with various experiments.

  • Information presented in this study is intended to inform candidates as they prepare to design and structure the floatovoltaics solar power system. A developed floatovoltaics solar power generation results from the combination of PV plant technology and PV floating technology. This floating-based PV system is a new concept for PV development. The PV floating technology opens new opportunities to give value to unused areas so far while preserving valuable land for more adapted activities. Therefore the land-use conflicts are avoided and the environmental impact is minimized. Therefore the technology offers an interesting opportunity to regions facing on drought during summer time without any negative impact to the eco-system. This study describe the basic components of a floatovoltaics solar power system. A typical system consist of floating system and solar modules, a control device, rechargeable batteries, a load or device and the associated electrical connections. The floating system is specifically designed to keep all metallic components above water leaving only 100% recyclable, closed cell foam filled HDPE plastic floats in contact with the water. As the first case that can maximize the power generation efficiency of PV internationally, it is expected that this study will be utilized as a primary guide for future development of floating type PV system.
