  • An adaptive control system for D.C servo drive is developed via minimum variance control theory. The problem of designing this controller under varying load conditions is discussed. A robust self tuning controller that can track a constant reference and reject constant load disturbance is developed. Simulation study shows that the controller has excellent adaptation, capability as well as transient recovery under load changes.

  • Since the control parameters of classical PID controller are fixed for all control period, it is not easy to produce a desired transition phenomena. We incorporate an iterative learning scheme to the linear controller so that it has more flexibility and adaptation capability especially in the transition period. In this paper a hybrid type learning controller is proposed in which fixed linear controller guides learning at the beginning stage. Once a perfect learning is achieved, then the control action is performed by only the learning controller. A computer simulation result demonstrates better performance during transition time than that with only linear PD controller.

  • In this paper, we propose a new method for the improvement of linearizing and adaptive convergence charateristics of the feedforward linear power amplifier. In this circuit, errors at the signal cancellation stage can be compensated at the error cancellation stage and the overall linearizaton and adaptation characteristics of the linear amplifier are improved. The broadband characteristics and linearizing capability are improved without increasing the complexity of circuits and the signal processing structure.

  • This paper describes a model and system development for support an object-based scalability to provide adaptive MPEG-4 contents. One of the problem encountered by a multimedia service in heterogeneous network environment is the variation in the client's playback capability. Therefore, we provide technique which give an adaptability to MPEG-4 encoders so that make it possible to service adaptive MPEG-4 contents to a certain end terminal.

Bioconversion of Linoleic Acid to Conjugated Linoleic Acid by Bifidobacterium breve

  • The bioconversion of linoleic acid (LA) to conjugated linoleic acid (CLA) was investigated to examine LA-adaptation of Bifidobacterium breve KCTC 3461 to additions of 1 to 5 mg/mL of LA overtime. To induce LA-adaptation, B. breve KCTC 3461 was treated with LA, according to three schemes. For LA-adapted B. breve the maximum concentration of CLA, $300\~350{\mu}g/mL$, was obtained in cys-MRS medium containing 1 mg/mL of LA. The CLA production significantly increased with increasing LA concentration, from 1 to 4 mg/mL, but the conversion of LA to CLA gradually decreased. The CLA production capability of B. breve, and its tolerance, improved significantly with LA-adaptation. The addition of LA (1 mg/mL) into the culture broth after 24 h of cultivation in a 100-mL media bottle was most effective at promoting CLA production. In a 2.5-L stirred-tank bioreactor, the observed conversion and productivity of $56.6\%\;and\;35.4{\mu}gmL^{-1}h^{-1}$, respectively, by LA-adapted B. breve were approximately 6.6 and 9.8 times higher than those of LA-unadapted B. breve.

기업가 지향성과 기업 회복탄력성 간 관계: 최고경영진의 네트워크 역량의 조절 효과 (The Relationship between Entrepreneurial Orientation and firm Resilience: The Moderating Effect of Top Management's Network Capability)

  • COVID-19 팬데믹과 같은 극단적인 외부 충격에 대하여 기업은 피해를 최소화하고, 난관을 빠르게 극복하여 충격 이전 수준으로 복귀할 수 있는 회복탄력성(Resilience)이 절대적으로 필요하다. 특히 국가 경제성장과 경제위기 차원에서 중소기업의 중요성을 고려할 때, 중소기업이 회복탄력성에 대한 학계와 경영 현장의 관심이 집중되고 있다. 본 연구는 기업의 회복탄력성의 하위 구성개념을 적응역량과 조속한 회복 능력으로 재정리하고, 국내 187개 중소기업을 대상으로 한 설문 조사 결과를 통해 기업가 지향성과 최고경영진의 네트워크 역량이 회복탄력성에 미치는 영향을 검증하였다. 그 결과, 기업가 지향성은 기업의 회복탄력성을 강화하는 주요 변인으로 작용함이 관찰되었고, 최고경영진의 네트워크 역량은 독립적으로 기업의 회복탄력성을 강화하는 요인이지만, 조절 변수로서 기업가 지향성과 기업 회복탄력성과의 관계를 약화시키는 것이 확인되었다. 극단의 외부 충격 시기에는, 중소기업은 기존의 네트워크를 더욱 강하게 의존하게 되어, 네트워크를 통해 새로운 정보, 지식, 자원을 확보하기보다는 집단적 눈가림 등의 네트워크 역기능이 발생한 것으로 해석된다. 본 연구는 여전히 탐색 수준에 머무르고 있는 중소기업의 회복탄력성에 대한 정의와 세부 요인을 재확인하고, 네트워크의 역기능을 관찰하여 기존의 개념을 확대하는데 기여하였다.

Fuzzy-Genetic Algorithm기반의 자가적응형 돌발상황 검지모형 개발 연구 (Development of a Fuzzy-Genetic Algorithm-based Incident Detection Model with Self-adaptation Capability)

  • 본 연구에서는 기존의 돌발상황 검지모형의 단점인 crisp한 임계값 설정과 타 대상도로에 이식이 어려운 문제점을 보완하는 방법으로 퍼지추론모형과 유전자 알고리즘을 활용하였다. 퍼지추론모형을 이용하여 유고검지 알고리즘의 주요 구성요소들을 설계하였으며, 돌발상황 검지모형 스스로의 적응력(자가적응)과 현장 이식성(移植性)을 극대화하기 위하여 퍼지추론모형의 퍼지소속함수 최적화에 유전자 알고리즘을 적용함으로써 hybrid fuzzy-genetic 형태의 유고검지모형을 개발하였다. 개발된 돌발상황검지모형의 성능은 유전자 알고리즘의 특성상 적응이력과 비례하여 향상될 것이므로 본 연구의 결과만을 가지고 확정적 결론을 내릴 수는 없으나, 잠정적으로 검지율, 오보율, 검지시간 등의 척도에서 기존 성능우수 모형과 대등한 성능을 나타내었다. 본 연구의 초점이 기존 모형의 성능지표 자체의 향상보다는 다양한 도로유형에 공히 적용 가능한 동시에 자가 적응력을 갖도록 하는 실험적 시도에 있었던 만큼 연구는 소기의 성과를 거두었다고 판단되며, 향후 이 분야 연구가 지향해야 할 중요한 방향성 하나를 제시하였다고 판단된다.

한국 기후변동 패턴과 제조업 총요소생산성의 관계 분석 (Analysis on the Relationship Between Climatic Variation and Total Factor Productivity of Manufacture Industries of Korea)

  • 본 연구는 기후변수들의 변동 특성이 한국 제조업의 총요소생산성에 미치는 영향을 분석하였다. 대표적인 기후변수인 기온, 강수량, 습도는 노동효율성에 부정적인 영향을 미칠 것으로 예상되므로 기온, 강수량, 습도의 변동특성이 한국 광역자치단체 제조업 총생산성에 미치는 영향을 분석하였다. 본 연구는 최근 기후변화로 기후 변동성이 높아지는 현상을 고려하기 위해 기후변수들의 평균값뿐만 아니라 최고값을 고려하여 분석하였다. 선형회귀분석 결과 선행연구 결과와 달리 기온과 습도가 제조업 생산성에 유의미한 영향을 미치지 않았다. 강수량의 평균적 증가는 부정적 영향을 미치는 것으로 분석되었다. 패널자료를 분석한 결과에서는 기온, 강수량 모두 제조업 총생산에 유의미한 영향을 주지 않는 것으로 나타났다. 반면 평균 습도의 상승은 제조업 총생산을 증가시키는 것으로 나타났다. 실내 작업이 많은 제조업의 경우 기후자체의 변화보다도 기업체들의 적응능력이 생산성 변화와 직접적인 관련이 있다. 한국 제조업의 경우 기온이나 습도의 변화가 급격하게 이루어지지 않고 있고, 냉난방 시스템 구축 등을 통해 기후변화에 잘 적응하고 있는 것으로 분석된다.

Knowledge-driven Dynamic Capability and Organizational Alignment: A Revelatory Historical Case

  • The current business environment has been characterized as less munificent, highly uncertain and constantly evolving. In this environment, the company with dynamic capability is reported to be more successful than others in building competitive advantage. Dynamic capability focuses on the link between a dynamically changing environment, strategic agility, architectural reconfiguration, and value creation. Being characterized to be flexible and adaptive to market circumstance changes, an organization with dynamic capability is described to have high resource fluidity, which represents business process, resource allocation, human resource management and incentives that make business transformation faster and easier. Successful redeployment of the resources for dynamic adaptation requires organizational forms and reward systems to be well aligned with firm's technological infrastructures and business process. The alignment is considered to be an executive level commitment. Building dynamic capability is knowledge driven; relying on new knowledge to reconfigure firm's resources. Past studies established the link between the effective execution of a knowledge-focused strategy and relevant setting of architectural elements such as human resources, structure, process and information systems. They do not, however, describe in detail the underlying processes by which architectural elements are adjusted in coordinated manners to build knowledge-driven dynamic capability. In fact, understandings of these processes are one of the top issues in IT management. This study analyzed how a Korean corporation with a knowledge-focused strategy aligned its architectural elements to develop the dynamic capability and thus create value in the dynamically changing markets. When the Korean economy was in crisis, the company implemented a knowledge-focused strategy, restructured the organization's architecture by which human and knowledge resources are identified, structured, integrated and coordinated to identify and seize market opportunity. Specifically, the following architectural elements were reconfigured: human resource, decision rights, reward and evaluation systems, process, and IT infrastructure. As indicated by sales growth, the reconfiguration helped the company create value under an extremely turbulent environment. According to Ancona et al. (2001), depending on the types of lenses the organization uses, different types of architecture will emerge. For example, if an organization uses political lenses focusing on power, influence, and conflict. the architecture that leverage power and negotiate across multiple interest groups would emerge. Similarly, if an organization uses economic lenses focusing on the rational behavior of organizational actors making choices based on the costs and benefits of action, organizational architecture should be designed to motivate and provide incentives for the actors (Smith, 2001). Compared to this view, information processing perspectives consider architecture to be designed to maximize the capacity of information processing by the actors. Using knowledge lenses, the company studied in this research established architectural elements in a manner that allows the firm to effectively structure knowledge resources to form dynamic capability. This study is revelatory single case with a historic perspective. As a result of this study, a set of propositions and a framework are derived, which can be used for architectural alignment.
