Purpose: The purpose of this study was to describe perceived family support, life satisfaction, and health promoting behavior (HPB), and to identify factors influencing HPB among the elderly. Method: Study participants were 165 elderly over 65 years of age who were living in C city, Korea. The instruments included the Family Support Scale developed by Kang, Life Satisfaction Scale developed by Choi, Health Promoting Behavior Scale designed by Walker, et al. The data were analyzed using the SAS program by t-test, ANOVA, Pearson correlation coefficients, and stepwise multiple regression. Results: 1. The scores for family support ranged from 11 to 55, with a mean score of 41.55. The scores for life satisfaction ranged from 0 to 40, with a mean of 22.02. The scores for HPB ranged from 40 to 160 with a mean score of 98.07. In the sub-dimensions of HPB, the participants showed the highest level of engagement in the nutrition domain, and the lowest level of engagement in the exercise domain. 2. Higher levels of family support and life satisfaction were correlated with more engagement in HPB. 3. The most influencing factor on HPB in the elderly was family support. accounting for 11% of the total variance in HPB. A combination of education level and types of living patterns accounted for 18% of the total variance in HPB. Life satisfaction accounted for 14% of the self-actualization domain, and 5% of the stress management domain, in the sub-dimensions of HPB. Conclusion: Perceived family support was identified as an important factor to predict HPB in the elderly. However, life satisfaction was identified as only partially influencing HPB among the elderly.
Purpose: This study was done to describe the correlation among the elderly's health-promoting behavior. life satisfaction and self-esteem. Method: The subjects were a volunteer sample of 200 elderly in Kyungsan city. The instruments for this study were Health Promoting Lifestyle Profile(47 items). Life Satisfaction Scale(20 items) and Self-Esteem Scale(10 items). Frequency, percentage, t-test, ANOVA, Duncan test and Pearson's correlation coefficient with BAS program were used to analyze the data. Result: 1) The average item score for the health-promoting behavior was 3.23; the highest score on the subscale was self-actualization and nutrition(M=3.45) with the lowest being exercise(M=2.98). 2) The average item score for the life satisfaction was 2.98. 3) The average item score for the self-esteem was 3.41. 4) Health-promoting behavior was significantly different according to age, marital status, religion and participation in society circles. 5) Life satisfaction was significantly different according to marital status and participation in society circles. 6) Self-esteem was significantly different according to participation in society circles. 7) Health-promoting behavior was positively related to life satisfaction and self-esteem. Life satisfaction was positively related to self-esteem. Conclusion: It follows from this study that there is a very strong correlation among the elderly's health-promoting behavior, life satisfaction and self-esteem. Therefore health promoting programs that increase life satisfaction and self-esteem should be developed to promote a healthy lifestyle of the elderly.
Purpose; This study was conducted to investigate the relationship between self-efficacy, family support and health promotion behavior of the elderly in a community. Method: The sample consisted of 208 elderly and data was collected from November 18 to December 21, 2002. The instrument of this study was a structured questionnaire including health promoting behaviors, self-efficacy, family support, general characteristics. Analysis of the data was done by use of descriptive statistics, t or F, Pearson Correlation Coefficient, Stepwise multiple regression. Results: 1. The general characteristics related to health promoting behavior were gender, family structure, education level and monthly pocket money. 2. The general characteristics related to self efficacy were gender, age, family structure, education level, religion and monthly pocket money. 3. The general characteristics did not affect family support. 4. Health promoting behavior score was the highest in the interpersonal support (2.72) and in order was nutrition(2.65), stress management(2.31), self actualization(2.30), exercise(2.05), health responsibility(1.86). 5. There was a significantly high correlation between health promoting behavior and self efficacy(r= .605, p= .000), and family support(r= .500, p= .000) and between self-efficacy and family support were correlated relatively high(r= .498, p= .000) 6. Stepwise multiple regression analysis revealed that the most powerful predictor of health promotion behavior in elderly was self-efficacy (39.6%). A combination of self-efficacy, family support, monthly pocket money, education level and present illness status explained 48.5% of the variance for health promoting behavior. In conclusion, the results of this study showed that self-efficacy and family support are very important variables in explaining the health promoting behaviors in elderly. Therefore, these variables should be considered in nursing intervention development and education, especially, self-efficacy improving programs that considered exercise and health responsibility are expected to effect the health promoting behavior in elderly.
Purpose: This study was purposed to provide basic data for developing future health promotion programs by comparing health-promoting behavior, life satisfaction and self-esteem between the Korean elderly and the American-Korean elderly. Methods: The subjects were volunteer participants of 120 elders in the Gyeongsan City in Korea and 120 elders in the state of Washington in the U.S. Tools used in this study were Health Promoting Lifestyle Profile (47 items), Life Satisfaction Scale (20 items) and Self-Esteem Scale (10 items). To analyze data, this study used frequency, percentage, chi-square test, t-test, Kendal tau test, Pearson's correlation coefficient with SPSS program. Results: 1) The average score of health-promoting behaviors was 3.21 in Koreans and 3.50 in American-Koreans, showing a significant difference between the two groups. 2) The sub-scales that got the highest score of health-promoting behaviors were self-actualization and nutrition(M=3.41) in Koreans and nutrition(M=3.61) in American-Koreans, and that with the lowest score was exercise in both groups(2.89 in Koreans and 3.02 in American-Koreans). 3) The average score for life satisfaction was 2.76 in Koreans and 3.06 in American-Koreans, showing a significant difference between the two groups. 4) The average score for self-esteem was 3.39 in Koreans and 3.09 in American-Koreans, showing a insignificant difference between the two groups. 5) Health-promoting behaviors were positively related to life satisfaction and self-esteem. Life satisfaction was positively related to self-esteem in both groups. Conclusions: According to the results of this study, the health-promoting behaviors of Korean and American-Korean elders strongly correlated with life satisfaction and self-esteem. Therefore, health promoting programs that enhance life satisfaction and self-esteem should be developed in order to promote the elderly's healthy lifestyle.
The Purpose of this study were 1) to find out the characteristics of health promoting Ii festyles of the study samples, 2) to determine the relationships of physical health and mental health, 3) to determine the relationships of health promoting lifestyles and health status. The health promotion model was tested with a volunteer sample of 141 female students in a university in Seoul. The health promoting lifestyle was measured by the scales developed by Walker and Pender(1987). Health status was measured by Cornell medical Index. Pearson's product moment correlations and stepwise multiple regression technique were used to analyze the data. The results are summarized as follows; 1. The items with the highest frequency of the subscales of health promoting lifestyle were 'look forward to the future' $(133,\;95.0\%)$ in self actualization, 'Enjoy being touched and touching people close to me' $(122,\; 87.14\%)$ in relationships with others. The strongest correlation was between general competence In self care and nutritional practice(r=5388, P<. 0001). 2. Fatigability, frequency of illness, miscellaneous diseases, habit, mood and feeling patterns were predictive of mental health. 3. Total health promoting lifestyles explained $14\%$ of the variance for health status. Relationships with others explained $20.9\%$ of the variance for health status. In conclusion, because the most variance explained was $420.9\%$, there must be other variables not accounted for by the model. that influence health promoting behaviors. Psychological factors accounted for more variance than other factors. Intervention studies focused on psychological factors as a means of altering behaviors have great potential for the design of interventions to increase health promoting behaviors. Further testing of the model with this population should be done.
본 연구는 HL7 버전 3의 객체지향 분석 및 개발 방법론인 HL7 개발 프레임워크(HDF)를 이용하여 투약관리의 임상문서구조의 개발을 통해 임상활동의 표준화 데이터 모델을 구현하는 것을 제안한다. 투약관리는 의료현장에서 임상전문가가 행하는 가장 중요한 업무이다. 표준화 된 데이터 모델 및 구조화된 병원정보시스템은 근거기반 임상 활동을 이루기 위해 상당히 중요한 과제이다. 임상문서구조를 생성하기 위해서 HDF와 제공된 도구들을 사용하였다. 본 연구자들은 투약관리활동에서 HDF의 각 단계의 다이어그램을 생성할 수 있었다. 그 결과, 임상 활동 중 하나인 투약관리에 대한 표준화 정보모델을 생성하였다. 이 모델은 보건의료정보시스템을 모델링하기 위한 정보통신개발자들에게 국제 표준방법론을 이해하기 위한 기본적 개념모델이 될 것이다.
In this study, the objectives are to provide rural experience tourism village business courses and development direction in between individual farmers and the village in base on rural development business of Hapjeon-village. The developmental process of a farm-stay village can be categorized into the period of six stages: 1) a conception stage 2) an adoption stage 3) a growth stage 4) an expansion stage 5) a stagnation stage 6) a recovery stage. Farm Stay Villages, Individual Farmhouses or Producer Groups can be placed in four different quadrant areas of a graph, depending on the pursuing direction and results of core values by having the X-axis for economic factors (public profits, individual profits) and by having the Y-axis for emotional factors (self-actualization, conflicts). The first quadrant area is designated for ideal individual farmhouses and producer groups for having achieved the status of economic self-reliant and high emotional satisfaction. The second quadrant is for ideal self-actualized communal villages having achieved the independent public interest and public profitable status. The third quadrant is reserved for villages experiencing communal conflicts and no economic self-reliant stagnant status. The fourth guardant area is allocated for individual farmhouses and producer groups having achieved self-reliant economic status, yet having communal conflicts. Using the aforementioned concept, the government shall design village development projects and prepare realistic and achievable goals and place them in as a systematic device in future projects.
This research study was performed to compare between Korean traditional color and digital transfer textile printing. This would help to find the new direction to apply Korean traditional colors to modern textile industry. The objective of this study is to digitalize Korean traditional colors to be applied to modern textiles, based on research studies by previous researchers, on the actualization of Korean traditional colors for textiles. The study focused on 21 red colors among others. Digital color palette of graphic program was printed on 6 different polyester textiles by using digital transfer textile printing. Different things to be supplemented were found by comparing the results with the colors of Korean traditional standard color names. After measuring the colors, Munsell color system and CIE $L^*a^*b^*$ value were measured then comparative study was performed on the measured values using 3D graphs. Measured colors of Munsell varied by color but in overall, chroma became low while brightness became high. Color characteristic of warm colors got weakened by turning into cold colors as brightness got high but yellow and red got low due to the characteristics of CIE $L^*a^*b^*$ value. This study has limitations with color analysis of digital transfer textile printing due to standardization of textiles and standardization of traditional colors however it can support to actualize the colors for the design using traditional color names by visualizing the color change of digital transfer textile printing in the future.
This study intended to understand the factors influencing the utilization of charged retirement home services for the elderly by stage of discision making. At the same time the purpose of the study is also to present the results of this study as data for the expectation of the demand. The subject of this study was non-utilizer (635 persons) and utilizer (62 persons) of charged retirement home services over the age of sixty. Non-utilizer was selected by random sampling in urban and rural area, and utilizer was investigated by census survey in the three charged retirement home. The research method was interview survey by questionaire. The questionaire was composed of 59 items, 25 variables, 5 components. The research model was to add Andersen's Prediction Model. The components were predisposing component, enabling component, need component, actualizing component, psychologic component. The results of this study were as follows. 1)In the stage of recognizing the residence problem, the recognizer were 76.7% (487 persons) of all the non-utilizer. The factors of influencing were property (B=-4.1E-05), solidarity with children (B=-.1070), house satisfaction (B=-.2517), need of charged retirement home (B=.2614). 2)In the stage of selecting an altenative as utilizing of charged retirement home services, the selecter were 41.1% (261 persons) of all the non-utilizer. The factors of influencing were perception of charged retirement home (B=.2790), need of charged retirement home (B=.2971). 3)In the stage of decion-making, the decider were 29.6% (188 persons) of all the non-utilizer. The factor of influencing was need of charged retirement home (B=.3570). 4)In the stage of the actualization, the factors of influencing were charge ability of utilization (B=.1025), significant others (B=.1868). The upper results were implemented by using the statistical methods of frequency, t-test, $$\chi$^{2}$-test, multiple logistic regression ( and P 〈 .05 ).
The purpose of this study was to identify the health promotion behavior and its related factors of persons who wanted a comprehensive health check-up in order to provide a basis for health education to promote health enhancing behavior. Study variables were induced from Pender's Health Promotion Model. The subjects were 160 persons who had a check-up at the health promotion center in a university hospital in Tae-Gu, between September 8 and 22, 1998. The following instruments were used in the study : Lee Tae Wha's Health Promoting Life-style Profile, Park Chai soon's Self-efficacy Instrument and Moon Jeong Soon's Perceived Benefit and Barrier Instrument. Data was collected by self-reporting questionnaire. Analysis of the data was done by SAS program, t-test, ANOVA and Pearson-Correlation Coefficient. The results of this study were as follows. 1. The average score for the health-promotion behavior was 104.64. In the subcategories, self-actualization showed the highest degree of performance and physical exercise showed the lowest degree of performance. 2. In the relation of general characteristics of subjects to the level of health-promoting behavior, the male, the married, the group with several symptoms showed a high level of health-promoting behavior. 3. The relationship between the degree of performance in health-promotion behavior and its correlates were as follows: Self-efficacy was positively correlated to health promotion behavior, while the perceived barrier was correlated negatively. But the perceived benefit did not show a significant correlation with health promotion behavior. Results suggest that the development of programs with strategies to strengthen doing physical exercise and concerning health, increase self-efficacy and exclude the barriers to health promotion is recommended to individuals seeking a comprehensive health check-up.
