Comparative Analysis between a Real-Life Explosion Case and A Damage Prediction Program (J도 LPG충전소 가스 누출로 인한 폭발사례와 피해예측 프로그램의 비교 분석)

  • This study aims to estimate the scope of damage impact with a real-life explosion case and a damage prediction program (ALOHA) and suggest measures to reduce risk by comparing and analyzing the results using a Probit model. After applying it to the ALOHA program, the toxicity, overpressure, and radiant heat damage of 5 tons of storage scopes between 66 to 413 meters, and the real-life case also demonstrated that most of the damage took place within 300 meters of the LPG gas station. In the Probit analysis, the damages due to radiant heat were estimated as first-degree burns (13-50%), while structural damage (0-75%) and glass window breakage (94-100%) were expected from overpressure, depending on the storage volume. After comparing the real-life case and the damage prediction program, this study concluded that the ALOHA program could be used as the scope of damage impacts is nearly the same as the actual case; it also concluded that the analysis using the Probit model could reduce risks by applying calculated results and predicting the probability of human casualties and structural damages.

A Development of Wedding Dress Design by Digital Clothing (디지털 클로딩에 의한 웨딩드레스 디자인 개발)

  • The purpose of this study is to develop a wedding dress design using digital clothing program to produce an actual dress. The level of actualization of the wedding dress design through digital clothing was evaluated by comparing the shape, ornament details, material, and tone. Also, the direction of improvement was sought by apprehending the limitations for the future of wedding dress design created by digital clothing. In order to evaluate the level of actualization on major design techniques of wedding dress, design planning of 4 dresses was performed based on the major images of wedding dresses. Virtual dress was created using DC Suite program and an actual wedding dress was produced using the pattern created in the process of virtual dress designing. The wedding dress designed by digital clothing was superior in silhouette or expression of pleats, but they rather lacked in expressing corsage, 3-dimensional objects, sheen material or double material. However, by supplementing a few functions, digital clothing can be effectively utilized in wedding dress design with the convenience and speed of digital operation. The digital clothing performs rapid production in the design development stage, modifies simply and confirms in real time and is highly effective, Therefore, if a program designed for wedding dress is developed, its effectiveness will be improved to maximize the customer satisfaction, and it will significantly reduce the time and cost which will make a great contribution to the wedding industry.

  • In this academic paper, we introduce a bread board simulation which is developed based on HTML language. this program is developed because actual electronic practices have some problems. Electronic circuit practice using bread board is widely practiced in colleges or high schools in South Korea, but actual electronic circuit practice needs lots of consumable stuff, and they are needed to be purchased and managed continuously. Besides, composing complicated electronic circuit restricts the efficiency of studying. Therefore, we propose breadboard simulation program which helps to resolve those problems.

Economic Benefits of Implementing National Health Insurance by Measurement of Changes in the Consumer's Surplus (전국민 의료보험 실시에 따른 사회전체 순편익 분석)

  • A change in the consumer's surplus was measured in order to evaluate the social benefit to be derived from expanding health insurance to the entire population. The most refined and correct way to measure a project's net benefit to society is to determine a change in the consumer's surplus. Benefits from introducing the health insurance program to the uninsured people can be classified into two elements. The first is the pricing-down effect(E1) which results from applying the insurance price system, which is lower than the actual price, to the uninsured patients. The second effect(E2) is a decrease in actual payment because an insured patient pays only a portion of the total medical bill(copayment). We collected medical price information from the data banks of 93 hospitals, and obtained information of medical utilization by referring to the results of other research and from data published by the Korean Medical Insurance Societies. The total net benefit was estimated as \214 billion, comprising the first effect(E1) of \57 billion and the second effect(E2) of \157 billion. The price elasticity of physician visits is less than that of hospital admissions: however, benefits from the increase in physician visits are greater than those from hospital admissions because there are considerably more of physician visits than hospital admissions. The sensitivity analysis also shows the conclusion that expansion of the health insurance program to the entire population would result in a positive net benefit. Therfore, we conclude that the National Health Insurance Program is socially desirable.

  • A Nuclear Power Plant (NPP) is a complex dynamic system-of-systems with highly nonlinear behaviors. In order to control the plant operation under both normal and abnormal conditions, the different systems in NPPs (e.g., the reactor core components, primary and secondary coolant systems) are usually monitored continuously, resulting in very large amounts of data. This situation makes it possible to integrate relevant qualitative and quantitative knowledge with artificial intelligence techniques to provide faster and more accurate behavior predictions, leading to more rapid decisions, based on actual NPP operation data. Data-driven models (DDM) rely on artificial intelligence to learn autonomously based on patterns in data, and they represent alternatives to physics-based models that typically require significant computational resources and might not fully represent the actual operation conditions of an NPP. In this study, a feed-forward backpropagation artificial neural network (ANN) model was trained to simulate the interaction between the reactor core and the primary and secondary coolant systems in a pressurized water reactor. The transients used for model training included perturbations in reactivity, steam valve coefficient, reactor core inlet temperature, and steam generator inlet temperature. Uncertainties of the plant physical parameters and operating conditions were also incorporated in these transients. Eight training functions were adopted during the training stage to develop the most efficient network. The developed ANN model predictions were subsequently tested successfully considering different new transients. Overall, through prompt prediction of NPP behavior under different transients, the study aims at demonstrating the potential of artificial intelligence to empower rapid emergency response planning and risk mitigation strategies.

Development of Digital Fashion Design Utilizing the Characteristics of Women's Traditional Costumes in the Tang Dynasty of China (중국 당(唐)나라 여성 전통 복식 특성을 활용한 디지털 패션디자인)

  • The purpose of this study is to propose a modern use of traditional culture by developing creative fashion designs that combine modern and traditional styles based on an analysis of traditional costumes of women in the Tang Dynasty of China. The characteristics of the Tang Dynasty women's costume are as follows. The Tang Dynasty women's costume consists of a short coat (衫, Shan), skirt (裙, Qun), half-arm shawl (半臂, Banbi), and short embroidered cape (帔, Pei). The colors are succinct and elegant, commonly red, yellow, green and navy blue in its entirety. It may be classified by pattern that blend plant patterns, animal patterns, geometric patterns, and two or more mixed patterns. On the basis of the characteristics for traditional women's costume during the Tang Dynasty, the CLO 3D program is employed to develop digital fashion design for four pairs of 3D digital clothing and the production of two pairs of work product. The results are as follows. First, the development of fashion design reflecting the design characteristics of traditional women's clothing in the Tang Dynasty of China could be expressed as fashion design reflecting unique values while connecting tradition and modernity. Second, the 3D virtual clothing program displays an extremely important effect in design deployment and pattern arrangement by having efficiency and convenience in clothing production. The CLO 3D program is closely combined with the 2D design and 3D effect and heightened efficiency while being appropriate to realize sustainability while saving processing time and energy for the sample products. Third, the production of an actual product by facilitating the 3D virtual clothing design may lead to time savings and an effective economy and may allow for the comparison of digital fashion design and actual products as well as confirming the effects of digital fashion design.

A study on actual use, design preference, and purchasing behaviors of bedding of married women in their 30s~60s (30대~60대 기혼 여성의 연령집단별 침구류 사용실태, 디자인 선호도 및 구매행동에 대한 연구)

  • The purposes of this study were to investigate actual use, design preference, and purchasing behaviors of bedding among married women in their 30s to 60s, and to determine the differences by age groups on these variables. The subjects were 623 married women and the research method was survey. The data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, cross tab analysis, multiple response analysis, ANOVA, and Duncan's multiple range test, using SPSS program. The results were as follows. First, on the actual use of bedding, the possession quantity of the bed cover and mattress was 2~4 while bedclothes and pillow was 7~8. The period of use of bedding was about 2~4 years and the frequency of washing was about 2~3 times a month. Second, married women generally preferred white and pastel tones, floral patterns, cotton fabrics, and a clean and comfortable image on bedding designs. Third, on the purchasing behaviors of bedding, married women considered functional damage and health & sanitary aspects as important purchase purposes. The most important selection criterion was fabric. Price, tactility, functionality, and manageability were also important criteria. Married women generally used the internet and store displays as important information sources, and considered bedding specialty stores as important purchase places. They generally spent about 200,000~300,000 won a year to purchase bedding. Fourth, the actual use, design preference, and purchasing behaviors of bedding showed many differences by age group. Therefore, it is needed to establish product development and marketing strategy of bedding, considering customers'age variable.

Design of the Finite Schematic Eye with GRIN Crystalline Lens Considering Iris Eccentricity (홍채 편심을 고려한 GRIN 수정체를 갖는 정밀모형안 설계)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to design the finite model eye with GRIN lens similar to actual eye, which considered the effect of iris eccentricity on eyes. Methods: By using the finite model eye with Radial GRIN and Spherical GRIN, which were designed previously, the location of iris was eccentrically located by 0.5 mm in the direction of nose to show the same eye as actual one. For ray trace and design, Code V program of Optical Research Associates (ORA) was adopted. Results: Designed model eye was compared to actual eye depending on iris eccentricity and the model eye which showed reduced value was corrected according to actual eye to design the finite model eye. Conclusions: Ocular optical systems considered the point that iris was a rotational asymmetry and designed the finite model eye with GRIN lens, which was similar to actual eye, by considering the effect of iris eccentricity on eye.

The Actual Wearing Conditions and Preferences for New Silver Women's Brassiere (뉴실버 여성을 위한 브래지어 착용실태 및 선호도 조사)

  • This study provides basic reference data for brassiere wearing conditions, design preferences of new silver women (50s-60s) and development of brassiere products. We compiled and compared 163 pieces of brassiere (considering of 105 domestic general brassieres and 58 foreign silver brassieres) analyzed using SPSS Statistics 21 program. A survey was then conducted on the actual wearing, purchasing conditions, design preferences for 176 females (50s-60s). The result of this study are as follows: First, comparing actual product conditions (domestic general products and foreign silver products), the ratio of full cup in cup height, V-shape type in neckline shape, long type in front-end length, wide type in wing width, U-shape type in shoulder strap form, wide type in shoulder strap width, no-wire brassieres in breast wire type, all-in-one type in shoulder strap separation, back type in closure type appeared higher than other types of brassiere in domestic general product. Second, a study also showed that 60s women's wearing time is lower than 50s women's; however, 60s women expressed a higher figure and preference for the purchasing ratio in the department store, full cup in cup height, short type in length of brassieres, wide type in wing width, U-shape in shoulder strap form, small type in shoulder strap width, back type in closure type and no-wire brassieres than those in their 50s. It was found they prefer fabric with a high natural content, nude tone color without decoration & pattern and camisole brassieres.

A study of subjective oral health actual condition in elementary school teachers, Daegu area (대구광역시 일부 초등학교 교사들의 주관적인 구강보건실태)

  • Objective : This study was performed in order to figure out Oral Health Actual Condition in Elementary School Teachers in Deagu area. This study was conducted from March through May 2008. Method : A total of three hundred and ten Elementary School Teachers were surveyed. The collected data were analyzed by Oral Health Actual Condition and cognition, Diet habit or living and one's own intellect health state, Oral disease sign symptoms of percent and 2-test and One-way ANOVA test by using SPSS12.0 Program. Results : 1. The most of result Frequencies of tooth brushing per one day were 3 over 91.0% and Oral Examination, Oral Health Education need. 2. The result of oral disease sign and symptom were hypersensitivity due to cold food(39.0%), halitosis(21.6%), gingival bleeding tendency(21.3), clicking sound on TMJ(18.7%), hypersensitivity due to tooth burshing(17.1%), easy crown fracture and to be fine(10.0%), pain on TMJ or limitation of mouth opening(7.1%). 3. The most of result age a group oral hygiene assistance article age 20 for interdental tooth brushing(46.4%), age 50 over not used interdental tooth brushing 38.5%. 4. The result of sign and symptom and snack following was statistically significant(P<0.05), health of own cognition and Oral health of own cognition was statistically significant(P<0.001). Conclusion : The study of understanded the Subjective Elementary School Teachers Oral Health Actual Condition and Promotion of Oral Health follow up Oral examination and Oral Health Education have to system groping.
