프레스 방호장치 안전거리 산정을 위한 손속도상수 (A Study on Hand Speed Constant to Calculate Safe Distance of Press Protective Device)

  • To protect press operator from the after-reach hazard, current Ministry of Labor Notification(MOLN) requires the use of a formula for calculating the safe distance away from the point of operation for locating press protective devices, Two Hand Control Devices(THCD) and Active Opto-Electronic Protective Devices(AOPD), on a power press. This formula is based on a same hand speed constant of 160cm/s. While EN standards use different hand speed constant for THCD and AOPD respectively. The objective of this study is to compare two guidelines on the hand speed constant published by MOLN and EN 692, also to propose a proper hand speed constant and validate it experimentally. As a experimental result, it could be known that hand speed constant of Ministry of Labor Notification should be improved as that of EN standards.

피동적 유체기구의 유동 조절 특성에 관한 실험 (An Experiment on the Flow Control Characteristics of a Passive Fluidic Device)

  • A model testing has been performed to investigate the flow characteristics of a vortex chamber, which plays a role of a flow switch and passively controls the discharge flow rate. This method of passive flow control is a matter of concern in the design of advanced nuclear reactor systems as an alternative to the active flow control to provide emergency water to the reactor core in case of postulated accidents like LOCA (Loss-Of-Coolant Accident). By changing the inflow direction in the vortex chamber and varying the flow resistance inside the chamber, the vortex chamber can control passively the injection flowrate. Fundamental characteristics such as discharge flow rate and pressure drop of the vortex chamber are measured, and its parametric effects on the performance of the vortex chamber are also systematically investigated.

MR Damper의 Gap Size에 따른 제어성능 분석 (Analysis of Control Performance in Gap Size of MR Damper)

  • 본 연구에서는 MR Damper의 제어력을 결정하는 다양한 요인들 중, 유로폭(Gap Size)을 다르게 선정하여 그에 따른 제어력의 변화를 확인하였다. 이를 위해 Gap Size 1.0mm, 1.5mm인 MR Damper 두 대를 제작하고 인가전류와 가진조건을 정하였으며 그에 따른 동하중 실험을 수행하였다. 실험결과 최소제어력은 Gap Size 1.0mm 조건이 Gap Size 1.5mm 조건보다 3.2배 높았으며 최대제어력은 Gap Size 1.0mm 조건이 Gap Size 1.5mm 조건보다 2.3배 높았다. 또한, 인가전류에 따른 제어력의 증가폭은 Gap Size 1.0mm일 때 34N, Gap Size 1.5mm일 때 12.7N으로 나타났다. Gap Size가 커질수록 전체 제어력과 인가전류에 따른 제어력의 증가는 감소하였다. 두 개의 MR Damper의 동적범위를 확인해 본 결과 Gap Size 1.0mm일 때 평균 2.3, Gap Size 1.5mm일 때 평균 2.8인 것을 볼 때 두 MR Damper의 준능동제어장치로써 사용가능성을 확인하였다.

  • Poly-Si TFT(Thin Film Transistor) technology are reviewed and discussed. Poly-Si TFTs fabricated on glass using low-temperature process were studied extensively for the application to LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) as well as to OLED(Organic Light Emitting Diode) Display. Currently, one of the application targets of the poly-Si TFT is emphasized on the highly functional SOG(System on Glass). Improvement of device characteristics such as an enhancement of carrier mobility has been studied intensively by enlarging the grain size. Reduction of the voltage and shrinkage of the device size are the trend of AM FPD(Active Matrix Flat Panel Display) as well as of Si LSI, which will arise a peculiar issue of uniformity for the device performance. Some approaches such as nucleation control of the grain seed or lateral grain growth have been tried, so far.

  • Passive Haptic Devices have more benefit than the active in Stability. But Apart from benefits, it shows poor performance in haptic display. The author proposed the passive FME(Force Manipulability Ellipsoid) which can graphically show force generating ability of a passive haptic device. In this paper, performance indexes for the force approximation and pseudo friction cone are obtained with the passive FME and an optimized planar device with the indexes is proposed. Based on the above theory, experiment is conducted.

  • The Master-Slave manipulator is generally used as a remote handling device in the hot cell, in which the high level radio-active materials such as spent fuels are handled. This study describes a workspace mapping algorithm for a kinematically dissimilar master-slave system The algorithm provides the operator to guide the slave's end effector into unreachable regions which can appear due to the mismatch of workspace between the master and slave manipulator.   • This paper is concerned with the experiment of vibration isolation device whit can cope with heave, pitch and roll type vibrations. This new device consists of S-shaped piezoceramic actuators supporting each corner of the plate. Small piezoceramic sensors are located at the middle of each side. This paper also presents the development and the movement of the system. The active control technique was also developed to cope with base excitation. Experimental results show that vibrations can be reduced by the new device in the case of base excitation of harmonic type.

Optimal variables of TMDs for multi-mode buffeting control of long-span bridges

  • In the past decades, much effort has been made towards the study of single-mode-based vibration controls with dynamic energy absorbers such as single or multiple Tuned Mass Dampers(TMDs). With the increase of bridge span length and the tendency of the bridge cross-section being more slender and streamlined, multi-mode coupled vibrations as well as their controls have become very important for large bridges susceptible to strong winds. As a simple but effective device, the TMD system especially the semi-active one has become a promising option for such coupled vibration controls. However, despite various studies of optimal controls of single-mode-based vibrations with TMDs, research on the corresponding controls of the multi-mode coupled vibrations is very rare so far. For the development of a semi-active control strategy to suppress the multi-mode coupled vibrations, a comprehensive parametric analysis on the optimal variables of this control is substantial. In the present study, a multi-mode control strategy named "three-row" TMD system is discussed and the general numerical equations are developed at first. Then a parametric study on the optimal control variables for the "three-row" TMD system is conducted for a prototype Humen Suspension Bridge, through which some useful information and a better understanding of the optimal control variables to suppress the coupled vibrations are obtained. This information lays a foundation for the design of semi-active control.

  • The research of network system, being used to reduce automotive wiring harness, is reaching to the development of by-wire system. It is by-wire system that apply IVN(In-Vehicle-Network) to steering, braking system, and it has the advantage of mass-decreasing, easy to diagnose fault and so on. But until now, many developed device can't satisfied with reliability that system have ever had. So redundancy of each network module, i.e., It is only way to make backup module. This paper researches development of network module and redundancy management of backup module when error occurred for implementation of brake-by-wire system.

대용량 리튬 이온 배터리용 Active 방전시험기의 개발 (Development of active discharge tester for high capacity lithium-ion battery)

  • Lithium-ion batteries have a small volume, light weight and high energy density, maximizing the utilization of mobile devices. It is widely used for various purposes such as electric bicycles and scooters (e-Mobility), mass energy storage (ESS), and electric and hybrid vehicles. To date, lithium-ion batteries have grown to focus on increasing energy density and reducing production costs in line with the required capacity. However, the research and development level of lithium-ion batteries seems to have reached the limit in terms of energy density. In addition, the charging time is an important factor for using lithium-ion batteries. Therefore, it was urgent to develop a high-speed charger to shorten the charging time. In this thesis, a discharger was fabricated to evaluate the capacity and characteristics of Li-ion battery pack which can be used for e-mobility. To achieve this, a smart discharger is designed with a combination of active load, current sensor, and temperature sensor. To carry out this thesis, an active load switching using sensor control circuit, signal processing circuit, and FET was designed and manufactured as hardware with the characteristics of active discharger. And as software for controlling the hardware of the active discharger, a Raspberry Pi control device and a touch screen program were designed. The developed discharger is designed to change the 600W capacity battery in the form of active load.
