In this paper, we studied a wideband double-sided dipole antenna operating at 3.5 GHz (WiMAX) band. The each printed dipoles are placed on the both sides of the substrate. It can be easily implemented and is suitable for connection with an active circuit. In order to obtain wideband printed dipole characteristics, thick rectangular shaped dipole is adopted. Feeding Circuit for dipole array and balun were designed for impedance matching with a $50{\Omega}$ microstrip feed line. The antenna is designed by simulation for an operation in the frequency range of 3.4~3.7 GHz Simulation results show that the maximum gain in the 3.5 GHz band is 5.5 dBi and the bandwidth with VSWR less than 2 is about 1 GHz.

A single chip NFC transceiver supporting not only NFC active and passive mode but also 13.56MHz RFID reader and tag mode was designed and fabricated. The proposed NFC transceiver can operate as a RFID tag even without external power supply which has dual antenna structure for initiator and target. The area increment due to additional target antenna is negligible because the target antenna is constructed by using a shielding layer of initiator antenna. The analog front end circuit of the proposed NFC transceiver consists of a transmitter and receiver of reader/writer block supporting NFC initiator or RFID reader mode, and a tag circuit for target of passive NFC mode or RFID tag mode. The maximum baud rate of the proposed NFC device is 212kbps by using UART serial interface. The chip has been designed and fabricated using a Magnachip's $0.35{\mu}m$ double poly 4-metal CMOS process, and the effective area of the chip is 2200um by 3600um.

In this paper, we propose a new beamforming algorithm for a conformal array antenna based on support vector regression(SVR). While the conventional least squares method(LSM) considers all sample errors, SVR considers errors beyond the given error bound to obtain the optimum weight vector, which has a sparse solution and the advantage of the minimization of the overfitting problem. To verify the performance of the proposed algorithm, we apply SVR to the experimentally measured active element patterns of the conformal array antenna and obtain the weights for beamforming. In addition, we compare the beamforming results of SVR and LSM.
An S-band multifunction chip with a simple interface for an active phased array base station antenna for next-generation mobile communications is designed and fabricated using commercial 0.5-${\mu}m$ GaAs pHEMT technology. To reduce the cost of the module assembly and to reduce the number of chip interfaces for a compact transmit/receive module, a digital serial-to-parallel converter and an active bias circuit are integrated into the designed chip. The chip can be controlled and driven using only five interfaces. With 6-bit phase shifting and 6-bit attenuation, it provides a wideband performance employing a shunt-feedback technique for amplifiers. With a compact size of 16 $mm^2$ ($4mm{\times}4mm$), the proposed chip exhibits a gain of 26 dB, a P1dB of 12 dBm, and a noise figure of 3.5 dB over a wide frequency range of 1.8 GHz to 3.2 GHz.

This paper presents an efficient receive beam structure able to search and track the simultaneous bundle targets with the active electrically scanned array radar. One of the characteristic with the active phased array radar is to point toward wanted direction and to forming simultaneously the digital multi-beam. This paper proposes method to detect and track rapidly bundle targets coming to radar using the digital beam forming. The proposed the beam forming method in the paper is evaluated about the angle accuracy of targets via a computer simulation.

In this paper, aperture coupled stacked microstrip array antennas are proposed and their operating characteristics are analyzed based on analytical. In order to evaluate mutual coupling between slot-coupled microstrip patches in finite array, analysis uses the reciprocity theorem and the spectral domain Green's functions for dielectric slab in a moment method solution for the unknown patches and solts current distrbution. By introducing an N-port equivalent network, the impedance matrix of an affay of N-element slot-coupled patches is evaluated directly from its network current matix of order N$^{2}$, and it can be programmed to be run on a PC. Numerical results show mutual coupling, radiation pattern, active reflection coefficient versus scan angle, radiation efficiency and active element gain pattern.

This paper designed the antenna for collecting and servicing the traffic information that apply to freeway Traffic Management System, as using DSRC (Dedicated Short Range Communication). Active DSRC is the technology that is using 5.8GHz Radio Frequency to a mean Sequency and there are a lot of the case occurring a physical electric wave shadowing because of the traveling straight of a electric wave. In such inferior communication environment, it constructed the stabilized communication link that can do collecting and servicing the correct traffic information and designed the beam pattern considering the establishment position of the antenna that can apply to various road environments and a communication area. By considering the communication link environment, this paper designed and manufacture the mean frequency of 5.8GHz, the input loss of -17dB in 75MHz bandwidth, the Axial ratio of 1.5:1, and $2{\times}4$ array microstrip antenna which beam pattern have the characteristic of $55^{\circ}$ horizontal half power beam width and $26^{\circ}$elevation half power beam width and the minimum establishment height of the antenna was designed as 14m for avoiding electric wave shadowing on a physical condition between vehicles

In this paper, we have developed a retrodirective active array operating in the 2 GHz LS band. The retrodirective array has the property of redirecting any electromagnetic wave back to the incoming direction without any priory informations. The system is integrated with phase conjugators and antenna array. Microwave phase conjugators can be implemented by microwave mixers. In this research, 2-port gate mixers using pHEMT and $1{\times}4$ monopole array have been used to achieve the retrodirectivity. The measured results have been compared with the theoretical prediction, and it has been shown that there exists a reasonable agreement between them. The monopole array can be used easily in many areas for simplicity and cost-effective property, and the retrodirective array developed in this research can be applied directly in the base station facilities for the wireless mobile communications. indoor wireless LAN and RFID transponders.
