Development of Digital Surface Model and Feature Extraction by Integrating Laser Scanner and CCD sensor

  • In order to present a space in details, it is indispensable to acquire 3D shape and texture simultaneously from the same platform. 3D shape is acquired by Laser Scanner as point cloud data, and texture is acquired by CCD sensor. Positioning data is acquired by IMU (Inertial Measurement Unit). All the sensors and equipments are assembled on a hand-trolley. In this research, a method of integrating the 3D shape and texture for automated construction of Digital Surface Model is developed. This Digital Surface Model is applied for efficient feature extraction. More detailed extraction is possible , because 3D Digital Surface Model has both 3D shape and texture information.

개심술 367례에 대한 임상적 고찰 (Clinical Experience of Open Heart Surgery 367 Cases)

  • Three hundred and sixty seven cases of open heart surgery were done in the Department of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery, Pusan National University Hospital from July, 1981 to October, 1985. 1. The age distribution of congenital heart disease patients was 3 to 41 years old and mean age was 12.7 years and of acquired heart disease was 9 to 57 years old and mean age was 30.9 years. 2. There were 281 cases [64.9%] of acyanotic congenital heart anomalies, 43 cases [11.7%] of cyanotic anomalies and 86 cases [23.4%] of acquired heart disease. 3. For myocardial protection, Bretschneider and potassium glucose solution had been used as cardioplegic solution but recently GIK solution is being used as secondary cardioplegic method by infusing repeatedly every 30 to 40 minutes time interval with excellent results. 4. The overall mortality was 8.2%. And the mortality rate in each disease entity is 2.5% in congenital acyanotic cases, 32.6% in congenital cyanotic cases and 11.6% in acquired valvular disease.

  • Acquired pulmonary artery stenosis which is secondary to tuberculosis is so rare that only a few scattered cases have been reported. We report one case of pulmonary stenosis caused by pulmonary tuberculosis.l A 50 year old man who gradually developed dyspnea was diagnosed as bilateral pulmonary stenosis, he underwent bypass surgery between the main diagnosed as bilateral pulmonary stenosis. he underwent bypass surgery between the main pulmonary artery and the right pulomonary artery with a 13mm Gortex ringed straight graft. The left pulmonary artery was too small to restore the perfusion. The patient was discharged on the 33rd day after the operation. Acquired pulmonary stenosis could be treated successfully with one-side pulmonary arery reconstruction.

  • This paper proposed a wireless measurement system (WMS) for an effective condition monitoring using wireless communication. WMS consists of two parts: transmitter(TM) acquired a dynamic signal from physical system using ICP type accelerometer sensor. An acquired signal modulated through the low/high pass filter and amplifier in DAQ board, which converted to digital signal. Embedded board(E-board) transferred digital signals to base station(BS) through the socket IEEE.802.11.b. BS is adopted IOCP server structure. Because it can acquired signal well during transferred digital signal. Signal processing used LabVIEW Library, BS(server) designed to realize multi-thread using visual C++.NET for 1 many meaning data processing

  • Quantitation of ethenzamide, isopropylantipyrine and caffeine takes about 41 hrs by conventional GC method. Quantitation of allylisoprorylacetylurea takes about 40 hrs by conventional UV method. But quantitation of them takes about 6 hrs by DRIFT developing method. Each standard and sample sieved, powdered and acquired DRIFT spectrum. Out of them peak of each component was selected and ratio of each peak to standard peak was acquired, and then linear stepwise multiple regression was performed with these data and concentration. Reflectance value, Kubelka-Munk equation and Inverse-Kubelka-Munk equation were modified by us. Inverse-Kubelka-Munk equation completed the deficit of Kubelka-Munk equation. Correlation coefficients acquired by conventioanl GC and UV against DRIFT were more than 0.95.

  • This paper presents a deep learning-based object detection method for recognizing vehicles in images acquired through cameras installed on ceiling of underground parking lot. First, we present an image enhancement method, which improves vehicle detection performance under dark lighting environment. Second, we present a new CNN-based multiscale classifiers for detecting vehicles in images acquired through cameras with fisheye lens. Experiments show that the presented vehicle detector has better performance than the conventional ones.

Regulation of Salicylic Acid and N-Hydroxy-Pipecolic Acid in Systemic Acquired Resistance

  • In plants, salicylic acid (SA) is a central immune signal that is involved in both local and systemic acquired resistance (SAR). In addition to SA, several other chemical signals are also involved in SAR and these include N-hydroxy-pipecolic acid (NHP), a newly discovered plant metabolite that plays a crucial role in SAR. Recent discoveries have led to a better understanding of the biosynthesis of SA and NHP and their signaling during plant defense responses. Here, I review the recent progress in role of SA and NHP in SAR. In addition, I discuss how these signals cooperate with other SAR-inducing chemicals to regulate SAR.

Automated Analysis of Scaffold Joint Installation Status of UAV-Acquired Images

  • In the construction industry, fatal accidents related to scaffolds frequently occur. To prevent such accidents, scaffolds should be carefully monitored for their safety status. However, manual observation of scaffolds is time-consuming and labor-intensive. This paper proposes a method that automatically analyzes the installation status of scaffold joints based on images acquired from a Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV). Using a deep learning-based object detection algorithm (YOLOv5), scaffold joints and joint components are detected. Based on the detection result, a two-stage rule-based classifier is used to analyze the joint installation status. Experimental results show that joints can be classified as safe or unsafe with 98.2 % and 85.7 % F1-scores, respectively. These results indicate that the proposed method can effectively analyze the joint installation status in UAV-acquired scaffold images.

지역사회획득폐렴으로 대학 병원에 입원한 성인의 사망률과 관련된 위험인자 (Risk Factors for Mortality in Community-Acquired Pneumonia Patients Admitted to a Referral Hospital)

  • 배 경: 지속적인 노력에도 지역사회폐렴에 의한 사망률은 증가하고 있으며 서구에서는 이에 대한 적절한 접근 및 예후 평가를 위해 예후 인자들을 확인하려 하였고 종합적인 접근을 위해 Pneumonia Severity Index(PSI) 등의 지표를 개발하였다. 하지만 국내에서는 단순 지표들만을 이용한 연구에 그치고 있어 PSI를 이용하여 폐렴으로 입원한 환자의 예후에 종합적인 접근을 할 수 있는지 확인하고자 하였다. 방 법: 2002년 1월부터 2005년 1월까지 지역사회폐렴으로 입원한 179명의 환자들을 대상으로 생존군/사망군 그리고 일반병실 입원환자/중환자실 입원 환자 사이를 비교하였으며, 각 군에 대해 Pneumonia Severity Index를 분석하였다. 결 과: 사망군과 생존군 사이에는 평균 수축기 혈압, 평균 이완기 혈압, 평균 맥박수, 평균 호흡수, 평균 체온, albumin, LDH, total cholesterol, HDL, PT, aPTT, hemoglobin, blood urea nitrogen(BUN)에서 유의한 차이가 있었다. (p<0.05) 일반병실과 중환자실 입원환자 사이에는 평균 맥박수, pH, $pCO_2$, $pO_2$, $SaO_2$, 혈청 총 단백질, 알부민, 혈청 총 칼슘, LDH, 총 콜레스테롤, HDL, PT, aPTT, hemoglobin, blood urea nitrogen(BUN)에서 유의한 차이가 있었다. (p<0.05) Pneumonia Severity Index의 경우 class I에서 사망률이 가장 낮고 class가 증가할수록 사망률이 증가하였으며 class V에서 사망률이 가장 높았다. 결 론: 다양한 지표들을 이용하여 지역사회폐렴으로 입원한 환자들을 평가할 수 있으나, Pneumonia Severity Index(PSI)를 이용하여 종합적인 접근을 할 수 있으며 이를 국내 환자에게 유용하게 이용할 수 있을 것으로 본다.

  • Background: It is difficult but important to differentiate between bacterial and viral infections, especially for respiratory infections. Hence, there is an ongoing need for sensitive and specific markers of bacterial infections. We investigated novel biomarkers for discriminating community acquired bacterial pneumonia from 2009 H1N1 influenza A infections. Methods: This was a prospective, observational study of patients with community acquired bacterial pneumonia, 2009 H1N1 Influenza A infection, and healthy controls. Serum samples were obtained on the initial visit to the hospital and stored at $-80^{\circ}C$. We evaluated CRP (C-reactive protein), PCT (procalcitonin), LBP (lipopolysaccharide-binding protein) and copeptin. These analytes were all evaluated retrospectively except CRP. Receiver operating characteristic curve (ROC) analyses were performed on the resulting data. Results: Enrolled patients included 27 with community acquired bacterial pneumonia, 20 with 2009 H1N1 Influenza A infection, and 26 who were healthy controls. In an ROC analysis for discriminating community acquired bacterial pneumonia from 2009 H1N1 influenza A infection, areas under the curve (AUCs) were 0.799 for CRP (95% Confidence interval [CI], 0.664~0.934), 0.753 for PCT (95% CI, 0.613~0.892) and 0.684 for LBP (95% CI, 0.531~0.837). Copeptin was not different among the three groups. Conclusion: These findings suggest that serum CRP, PCT and LBP can assist physicians in discriminating community acquired bacterial pneumonia from 2009 H1N1 influenza A infection.
