Improvement of circular cutting using adaptive control in micro milling with piezo-actuator (마이크로 밀링에서 적응제어를 이용한 피에조 구동기의 원주가공의 성능향상)

  • Recently, there are many studies for the micro-machining using Piezo actuator. However, because of its step by step motion, it is nearly impossible to increase the machining accuracy for a circular path. To increase the accuracy, it is well known that it is necessary the finer and synchronous movement for x-y axes. Therefore, this paper proposes an adaptive control for finer movement of the actuator, and realizes a synchronous control for the x-y axes. The experimental results show that the machining accuracy is remarkably improved.

A study on the Accuracy Improvement of Three Dimensional Positioning Using SPOT Imagery (SPOT 위성영상(衛星映像)을 이용(利用)한 3차원(次元) 위치결정(位置決定)의 정확도(正確度) 향상(向上)에 관(關)한 연구(硏究))

  • This study aims to improve the positioning accuracy by analizing the accuracys of three dimensional positioning according to various data types and preprocessing levels of SPOT imagery and the acquisition method for ground control points, and to develop the three dimensional positioning algorithm and program. In this study, the optimum polynomials of exterior orientation parameters according to each preprocessing levels (level 1B; 15 variables, level 1AP, 1A; 12 variables) are determined. As a results, the accuracy of level lAP is the best in the results of analysis about the accuracy of positioning, but level 1A which is digital image data form also shows similar positioning accuracy. Also, in level 1A image which have different acquisition method for ground control points, the accuracy of three dimensional positioning is highly improved. But, in case of low accuracy of ground control points, only introduction of additional parameters does not effect to the improvement of accuracy. Therefore simultaneous adjustment including blunder detection method should be adopted.

The Accuracy of Prescriptions Using a Computerized Chemotherapy Order System (항암화학요법 처방전산 시스템에 의한 처방 정확도에 관한 연구)

  • A computerized chemotherapy order system (CCOS) was developed to improve the accuracy and efficiency of prescriptions for pharmacy medication scheduling at a teaching hospital, Asan Medical Center, Seoul, Korea. We evaluated the system by comparing prescriptions before and after the implementation of the system and by analyzing the effects of the system on dosing accuracy (only against 5-FU), prescription change, overdoses above maximum limit and medication disposal in non computerized program group (control group) and CCOS group. In terms of dosing accuracy, prescription error rate (%) was significantly decreased in CCOS groups compared with the control group. The rate of prescription changes was also significantly decreased in CCOS groups. Regarding overdoses above maximum limit, we found that there was no prescription order exceeding the dosage limit in CCOS groups in contrast to significant overdoses in control group. In terms of medication disposal, there was no significant difference between 2 groups. We suggest that the computerized chemotherapy order system for chemotherapy may bean important and useful tool for minimizing prescribing errors in the hospitals.

A Study on the Effect of Pre-cue in Simple Reactions on Control-on-Display Interfaces

  • Objective: This study focuses on the effects of pre-cues informing the location of upcoming visual stimulus on finger movement response in the context of control-on-display interfaces. Background: Previous research on pre-cues focus on attention allocation and motion studies were limited to indirect control conditions. The design of this study aimed to collect data on the exact landing point for finger-tap responses to a given visual stimulus. Method: Controlled visual stimuli and tasks were presented on a UI evaluation system built using mobile web standards; response accuracy and response time were measured and collected as appropriate. Among the 16 recruited participants, 11 completed the experiment. Results: Providing pre-cue on the location of stimulus affected response time and response accuracy. The response bias, which is a distance from the center of stimulus to the finger-tap location, was larger when the pre-cue was given during a one-handed operation. Conclusion: Given a pre-cue, response time decreases, but with accuracy penalized. Application: In designing touch-screen UI's - more strictly, visual components also acting as controllers - designers would do well to balance human perceptual and cognitive characteristics strategically.

Fault Diagnosis Method Based on High Precision CRPF under Complex Noise Environment

  • In order to solve the problem of low tracking accuracy caused by complex noise in the fault diagnosis of complex nonlinear system, a fault diagnosis method of high precision cost reference particle filter (CRPF) is proposed. By optimizing the low confidence particles to replace the resampling process, this paper improved the problem of sample impoverishment caused by the sample updating based on risk and cost of CRPF algorithm. This paper attempts to improve the accuracy of state estimation from the essential level of obtaining samples. Then, we study the correlation between the current observation value and the prior state. By adjusting the density variance of state transitions adaptively, the adaptive ability of the algorithm to the complex noises can be enhanced, which is expected to improve the accuracy of fault state tracking. Through the simulation analysis of a fuel unit fault diagnosis, the results show that the accuracy of the algorithm has been improved obviously under the background of complex noise.

The GNSS Accuracy Analysis according to Data Processing S/W (GNSS 자료처리 S/W에 따른 정확도 분석)

  • The accuracy of GNSS depends on several factors from the equipment used in data processing because GNSS positioning can be used differently depending on the accuracy required. In the case of the control point surveying requiring high accuracy, GNSS surveying is performed using the relative positioning method, and the observation time and data processing s/w are used differently depending on the class of the control points. On the other hand, the accuracy of academic software depends on the skill of the user, so it may be better to use commercial software in the case of a short baseline. In this study, the results of GNSS survey data were compared using scientific software and commercial software. The results showed that the horizontal position showed a difference of less than 2 cm and the height showed a difference of less than 5 cm. These differences were found to be in the error ranges specified in the unified control point survey regulations. Based on the above results, the commercial s/w can be used for GNSS data processing at the midterm baseline rather than the long baseline.

  • This study deals with GPS-photogrammetry practicability by C/A-code reception. It allows data to be acquired and analyzed fast. Combined block adjustment method was applied at the topographical map production of coast-land. And we compared it that of conventional block adjustment. As a result, it was found that accuracy was very sensitive to the arrangement and number of control points. The accuracy in the horizontal and vertical was $\pm{2cm}$ if all of the control points was available. however accuracy was not affected at additional parameters for systematic errors' elimination and it leads to bad results when the number of control points was few and arrangement of control points was not stabilized. GPS observations were added in block adjustment, but the accuracy of block was not upgraded due to the low accuracy of C/A-code reception. So relative positioning method with carrier phases was required for high accuracy and it is expected that CPS photogrammetry with C/A-code will be used widely according to the improvement of observation methods and the development of receiver.

Quality Control Program and Its Results of Korean Society for Cytopathologists (대한세포병리학회 정도관리 현황 및 결과)

  • In Korea, the quality control(QC) program forcytopathology was introduced in 1995. The program consists of a checklist for the cytolopathology departments, analysis data on all the participating institutions' QC data, including the annual data on cytologic examinations, the distribution of the gynecological cytologic diagnoses, as based on The Bethesda System 2001, and the data on cytologic-histolgical correlation of the gynecological field, and an evaluation for diagnostic accuracy. The diagnostic accuracy program has been performed 3 times per year with using gynecological, body fluid and fine needle aspiration cytologic slides. We report here on the institutional QC data and the evaluation for diagnostic accuracy since 2004, and also on the new strategy for quality control and assurance in the cytologic field. The diagnostic accuracy results of both the participating institutions and the QC committee were as follows; Category 0 and A: about 94%, Category B: 4-5%, Category C: less than 2%. As a whole, the cytologic daignostic accuracy is relatively satisfactory. In 2008, on site evaluation for pathology and cytology laboratories, as based on the "Quality Assurance Program for Pathology Services" is now going on, and a new method using virtual slides or image files for determining the diagnostic accuracy will be performed in November 2008.

The Effect of Vibration Convergence Prop Exercise on Batting Speed and Batting Accuracy in Elementary School Baseball Players (진동을 융합한 소도구운동이 초등학교 야구선수들의 타격속도와 타격정확도에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of prop exercise convergence using vibration on batting speed and batting accuracy in elementary school baseball players. Three times a week for six weeks. The vibration exercise experimental group and the control group were divided into each twenty members. The experimental group performed vibration convergence prop exercise, and the control group performed general exercise. Batting speed and Batting accuracy were measured. The experimental and control groups showed significant differences in the groups of batting speed before and after intervention. There was significant difference between the batting accuracy in the comparison between the experimental group and the control group. Prop convergence vibration exercise may help to improve the batting speed and batting accuracy of elementary school baseball players. In the future, adult and sport injury patient are needed.

Accurate Control Position of Belt Drives under Acceleration and Velocity Constraints

  • Belt drives provide freedom to position the motor relative to the load and this phenomenon enables reduction of the robot arm inertia. It also facilitates quick response when employed in robotics. Unfortunately, the flexible dynamics deteriorates the positioning accuracy. Therefore, there exists a trade-off between the simplicity of the control strategy to reject time varying disturbance caused by flexibility of the belt and precision in performance. Resonance of the system further leads to vibrations and poor accuracy in positioning. In this paper, accurate positioning of a belt driven mechanism using a feed-forward compensator under maximum acceleration and velocity constraints is proposed. The proposed method plans the desired trajectory and modifies it to compensate delay dynamics and vibration. Being an offline method, the proposed method could be easily and effectively adopted to the existing systems without any modification of the hardware setup. The effectiveness of the proposed method was proven by experiments carried out with an actual belt driven system. The accuracy of the simulation study based on numerical methods was also verified with the analytical solutions derived.
