도시철도 장기 사용레일의 피로수명 평가 (The Fatigue Life Evaluation of Aged Continuous Welded Rail on the Urban Railway)

  • 최근 연구결과 레일연마 및 장대레일화를 통해 누적통과톤수에 의한 레일교체기준의 연장이 가능한 것으로 보고되었다. 본 연구에서는 장기 사용레일에 대한 실내피로시험을 수행하였고, 파괴확률 50%에서의 장기 사용레일의 잔존수명을 표현한 S-N 선도는 적은 실험데이터에 대한 가중치 확률 해석기법을 사용하여 도출하였다. 여기서 피로시험에 사용된 레일들이 누적통과톤수가 서로 다르기 때문에 누적통과톤수를 평균하여 반복횟수를 수정하였다. 또한, 레일표면요철 및 열차속도를 고려한 레일 저부 휨응력은 기존 연구결과 도출된 레일휨응력 예측식을 사용하여 장기 사용레일의 잔존수명을 평가하였다. 따라서 본 연구를 통해 도시철도에서 레일연마를 통한 레일관리가 이루어진다면 누적통과톤수에 의한 레일교체기준(약 8억톤)보다 약 2억톤이상 연장 사용이 가능하며, 피로한도 이하의 응력범위에 대한 피로시험결과를 바탕으로 레일의 피로수명을 평가하기 위해서는 수정마이너법칙보다는 피로한도 이상에서의 S-N선도 기울기의 1/2인 하이바크법칙을 적용하는 것이 합리적이라 판단되었다.

  • Spot welding is very important and useful technology in fabriaction of the thin sheet structure such as the automobile, train and air craft, Because fatigue strength of the spot welding point is however considerably lower than base metal due to stress concentration at the nugget edge, reasonable fatigue strength evaluation of spot welded lap joint is very important to estimate the reliability and durability of th spot welded structure and to establish a criterion of ling life fatigue design. For reasonalbe fatigue strength evaluation, it is necessary to estimate the fatigue strength of spot welded lap joints, systematically. So far, many investigators have numerically and experimentally studied on the systematic fatigue strength estimation for various spot welded lap joints, and the methods suggested has been considerably accumulated. By the way, for applying them in practical fatigue design of the thin sheet structure fabricated by spot welding ,it is also necessary to verify their efficiency and reliability on the predicted results, Therefore, in this study, a statistical fatigue strength estimation method for spot welded lap joints was developed by using the Weibull probability distribution function. From the result, it was found that fatigue strength and fatigue life of the spot welded lap joints having various dimension were able to be statically predicted . And also, a reliable criterion for long life fatigue design of the spot welded lap joint could be established.

입력가진 조건에 따른 선형 시스템의 피로손상도 비교 평가 (Comparison of Fatigue Damage of Linear Elastic System with Respect to Vibration Input Conditions)

  • Vibration testing is conducted for evaluate the fatigue resistance of responsible system over excitation situations and two kinds of vibration profiles, harmonic or random, are widely used in engineering fields. Harmonic excitation profile is adequate for the rotating machinery that is primarily exposed to the orderly excited force subjected for a rotating speed; Random profile is suitable for the non-stationary vibration input, that is a ground excitation for example. Recently, the sine on random(SOR) testing method was sometimes considered to represent the real excitation conditions since the measured response signals of a target system, expecially for moving mobility, shows usually a mixture of them. So, it is important to understand the accumulated fatigue damage over different excitation patterns, harmonic and/or random, to determine the efficient vibration profile of a target system. A uniaxial vibration testing with a notched simple beam was introduced to evaluate the fatigue damage for different excitation profiles and the best choice of vibration profile was concluded from those comparison of calculated fatigue damages.

원전 피로 감시 시스템 개발 및 적용 현황 (Current Status on the Development and Application of Fatigue Monitoring System for Nuclear Power Plants)

  • 세계적으로 원자력발전소의 안정적 운영 및 안전성 확보를 위해 수명기간 중 주요 기기 및 배관의 실제 운전 과도상태를 체계적으로 관리하고, 피로 손상의 정량적 평가 및 관리를 위한 체계적인 시스템이 요구되고 있는 실정이다. 이에 본 논문에서는 원자력발전소의 안전등급 1 설비에 대한 피로 평가요건을 분석하였고, 피로 감시방법 및 절차와 웹 기반으로 개발된 피로 감시 시스템인 NuFMS 개발 및 검증 내용을 기술하였다. NuFMS는 설계 시 고려한 과도상태 발생 횟수 대 비발전소의 특정 운전 시점에서의 실제 발생 횟수를 비교하여 안전 여유도의 정량적 확인이 가능하며, 누적피로사용계수 도출을 통해 정확한 피로영향 분석뿐만 아니라 손상 관리가 가능하다. 이와 같이 NuFMS의 적용을 통해 원자력발전소 기기 및 배관의 피로 건전성을 확인하고 운영 신뢰도를 향상시킬 수 있으며, 발전소의 안전성 유지 및 운영비용 절감 등의 효과를 기대할 수 있다. 따라서 향후 국내 전 원전에 NuFMS를 확대 적용할 예정이며, 이러한 기술의 해외 수출을 적극 추진 중이다.

H형 복공판과 Channel형 복공판의 피로거동에 관한 실험적 연구 (An Experimental Study on the Fatigue Behavior of H & Channel-Type Lining Board)

  • 본 연구에서는 피로시험을 통해 H형 및 Channel형 복공판의 성능을 검토하였다. 이 시험을 통하여 균열의 발생원인과 구조체의 거동의 상관성을 분석하였다. H형 복공판은 백만회 이상의 반복하중에서도 안정적으로 거동하였다. Channel형 복공판의 경우 시험체 모두 대략 십만회에서 피로파괴가 발생하여 공용하중을 사용하는데 있어 내구 수명의 확보에 문제점이 있음을 알 수 있었다.

무릎 관절 근육 피로와 과체중이 착지 시 하지 관절의 각변위와 모멘트에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Knee Joint Muscle Fatigue and Overweight on the Angular Displacement and Moment of the Lower Limb Joints during Landing)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of knee joint muscle fatigue and overweight on the angular displacement and moments of the lower limb joints during landing. Written informed consent forms, which were approved by the human subject research and review committee at Dong-A University, were provided to all subjects. The subjects who participated in this study were divided into 2 groups: a normal weight group and an overweight group, consisting of 15 young women each. The knee joint muscle fatigue during landing was found to increase the dynamic stability by minimizing the movements of the coronal and horizontal planes and maintaining a more neutral position to protect the knee. The effect of body weight during landing was better in the normal weight group than in the overweight group, with the lower limbs performing their shock-absorbing function in an efficient manner through increased sagittal movement. Therefore, accumulated fatigue of knee joint muscles or overweight may be highly correlated with the increase in the incidence of injury during landing after jumping, descending stairs, and downhill walking.

크리프-피로상호작용하의 파단수명에 관한 연구 (Study on Fracture Life Under Mutual Interaction of Creep and Fatigue)

  • This is the study on fracture life under the interaction of creep and fatigue. It is difficult to explain the interaction of the creep and fatigue with indication of frequency but the dependency of the time should be considered. The formulation of material varieties causing by interaction of creep and fatigue is required in the accumulative damage method. The strain range partition method requires some of modification corresponding to the changes in temperature and load. All of other method also comprehended with above mentioned problems. Generally, in this field, the variety of stress-strain and suitable parameter is required and connective study between the macro and micro results seems to be insufficient. The linear damage rule is acquiring the support generally but it requires modification in the hgigh temperature instruments. The variety of stress effecting on crack and variety of stress on the metallurgical side are considered to be problems in the future days.

  • The rail surface defects which are generated on repeated rolling contact fatigue are getting increased according to high speed, high density, and minimum weight. In addition, Increasing noise and vibration are affected by these also impact load generated as well. Because of this phenomenon, more serious and critical damages were occurred. In fact, in order to control them, the rail grinding were conducted. However, there are not enough researches to make an criteria of generating optimal rail grinding amount in Korea. This study evaluated how depth of hardening on rail surface is formed and suggested optimal rail grinding amount by RCF(rolling contact fatigue) test with generated contact pressure between KTX wheel and UIC60 rail by applying FEM analysis. Therefore, the amount was generated approximately 0.2mm/20MGT to maintain integrity of rail surface by getting rid of depth of hardening on rail according to rail accumulated passing tonnage.

Material Characteristics of Dental Implant System with In-Vitro Mastication Loading

  • A dynamic fatigue characteristic of dental implant system has been evaluated with applying single axial compressive shear loading based on the ISO 14801 standard. For the advanced dynamic fatigue test, multi-directional force and motion needed to be accompanied for more information of mechanical properties as based on mastication in oral environment. In this study, we have prepared loading and motion protocol for the multi-directional fatigue test of dental implant system with single (Apical/Occlusal; AO), and additional mastication motion (Lingual/Facial; LF, Mesial/Distal; MD). As following the prepared protocol (with modification of ISO 14801), fatigue test was conducted to verify the worst case results for the development of highly stabilized dental implant system. Mechanical testing was performed using an universal testing machine (MTS Bionix 858, MN, USA) for static compression and single directional loading fatigue, while the multi-directional loading was performed with joint simulator (ADL-Force 5, MA, USA) under load control. Basically, all mechanical test was performed according to the ISO 14801:2016 standard. Static compression test was performed to identify the maximum fracture force with loading speed of 1.0 mm/min. A dynamic fatigue test was performed with 40 % value of maximum fracture force and 5 Hz loading frequency. A single directional fatigue test was performed with only apical/occlusal (AO) force application, while multi directional fatigue tests were applied $2^{\circ}$ of facial/lingual (FL) or mesial/distal (MD) movement. Fatigue failure cycles were entirely different between applying single-directional loading and multi-directional loading. As a comparison of these loading factor, the failure cycle was around 5 times lower than single-directional loading while applied multi-directional loading. Also, the displacement change with accumulated multi-directional fatigue cycles was higher than that of single directional cycles.
