  • 야생조류 및 건국대학교 생물학과 동물표본실에 보관되어 온 조류박제표본에서 채집된 6.950여 개체의 깃털진드기들을 동정, 분류한 결과 Kramerellidae과의 Demonoton Eoniwnter (Megnin & Trouessart, 1884), Krqmereua bubonis(Lonnlnrs, 1937), Neopekitotn bubonis Atyeo & Philips, 1984 등 3종과 Pterolichidae과의 Epopolichus atelus Gaud, 1981가 한국미기록종 이어서 그들의 새로운 숙주와 함께 재기재하였다.

Redescription of Veigaia tibbetsi Farrier, 1957 (Acari: Mesostigmata: Veigaiidae) based on the specimens found from the Korean Peninsula

  • Mites in the family Veigaiidae, order Mesostigmata, subclass Acari are widely distributed in subsoil habitats. They are mostly free-living and predaceous on small arthropod eggs and larvae, and prefer habitats with rich organic matters including litter and humus layers of forest soil. The genus Veigaia Oudemans, 1905 of the family Veigaiidae (Acari: Mesostigmata) is one of the ubiquitous genera from the Holarctic Region. Until now, only two genera and five species of the family were recorded from Korea. Here we provide a report of the species Veigaia tibbetsi Farrier, 1957 with detailed redescription. Even though V. tibbetsi had appeared in some ecological literature, this is the first record of this species in Republic of Korea. This species was mostly found from pine forest(Pinus densiflora) of northeastern mountainous parts of the Korean Peninsula, in Gangwon and Gyeongbuk Provinces. We provided some ecological characteristics of the family Veigaiidae, which will help to further exploration of acarine biodiversity.

  • 지금까지 한국산 이리응애 과에 속하는 이리응애 속은 5종이 알려져있었다. 1989년과 1992년에 한국의 경기도와 전라북도 지역에서 채집한 이리응애를 동정한 결과 2신종이 확인되었는데, 이들 종은 Phytoseius (Phytoseius) seungtaii n. sp. (개암이리응애(과 Phytoseius(Phytoseius) sonunensis n. sp. (선운이리웅애)이었다. 이로써 한국산 이리응애 속은 7종이된다.

  • 소나무에서 Oligonychus 속의 1신종 Oligonychus solus n. sp.가 채집 발견되었기에 기재하여 보고한다. 본 종은 Oligonychus ununguis(Jacobi, 1905)와 유사하나 체장과 배면모의 크기가 작고, 생시개구 앞의 주름이 가로로 나 있어서 쉽게 구분된다.

  • This paper deals with a new genus, Mainothrus gen. n., and a new species, M. aquaticus sp. n., belonging to Trhypochthoniidae Willmann, 1931 from Korea. The key characters of the new genus distinguishable from other genera of Trhypochthoniidae are 1) six pairs of genital setae, 2) two pairs of anal setae, 3) fifteen pairs of notogastral setae, and 4) epimeral setal formula; 3-1-3-2.

한국산 큰배판응애과(Mesostigmata: Aceosejidae)의 3 미기록종 보고 (Aceosejid Mites (Mesostigmata: Acari) in Korea)

  • 1995년 4월부터 2003년 10월까지 한국의 40개 지역에서 토양 시료를 채취하여 응애를 분리하였다. 그 중, 큰배판응애과에 속하는 다음의 3종을 한국에서는 처음으로 발견하였기에 보고한다. Platyseius mollicomus (Berlese, 1916) 납작배판응애 (신칭) Sejus nepalensis Evans & Pyatt, 1960 네팔배판응애 (신칭) Zerconopsis decemremiger Evans & Pyatt, 1960 구멍배판응애(신칭).

한국산 날개응애 2 미기록종의 기재 (Description of Two Unrecorded Species of Oribatid Mites (Acari: Oribatida) from Korea)

  • 한국산 날개응애를 조사하던 중에 2 미기록속, Acrotocepheus 1965, Humerobates Sellnick, 1928과 2 미기록종, 산굼부리오징어응애(신칭) (A. gracilis Aoki, 1965), 콧등날개응애(신칭) (H. flechtmanni Perez-Inigo & Perez-Inigo Jr., 1993)을 발견하였기에 보고하는 바이다.

점봉산 천연보호림의 토양과 낙엽에서의 토양미소절지동물상 (Soil Microarthropod Fauna at Mt. Jumbong, Nature Researve Area)

  • Study of population density and biomass of soil microarthropods in soil, herbaceous leaf litter and wood leaf litter was conducted at 4 sites with different flora in Mt. Jumbong, a nature reserve area, in Korea from Aug. 1994 to May 1996. Total 47, 849 individuals of soil microarthropods in soil were collected and identified into 6 different classes, and 16 orders. The composition, densities, and dominant group of soil microarthropods were different among 4 sampling sites. Collembola was the most abundant group with 50.7% at South-facing slope and 50.6% at the North-facing slope. But Acari was the most abundant group with 49.8% at Altitude 900m site and 47.7% at Altitude 1100m site. Two group ranged 87-95% of total individuals. A/C ratio was less than 1.0 at 4 sampling sites during the all sampling seasons. As a result of biomass evaluation, rato of Acari was decreased but ratio of Diplopoda, coleoptera, Araneae, Diptera and Chilopoda was increased. About 70% of total orders and densities were found in less than 5cm soil depth. The composition, densities, and dominant group of soil microarthropods were different among soil, herbaceous litter and wood litter. Collembola was the most abundant group in herbaceous and wood litter. A/C ratio was less than 1.0 in litter during the sampling seasons. As a result of biomass evaluation in litter, ration of Araneae and Collembola was very high, but ratio of Acari was low.
