The concept of blood circulation is so complex, dynamic and abstract that students have difficulty in understanding it and students' preconceptions hardly change into scientific concepts even after the lessons. The purpose of this study is to examine middle school, high school, and undergraduate students' understanding of blood circulation and to find the reason why the lack of deep understanding is displayed in students' explanations for the blood circulation. The study consists of three parts. First, the test was designed to investigate students' ideas for blood circulation as components of the structure, the function, the behavior and the mechanism. Second, the test was applied to 7th, 10th and 13th graders to investigate the students' understanding of blood circulation and categorize the types of students' blood circulation model according to their academic level. Finally, the concepts the students had little understanding of were analyzed to decide which ontological category they fell into and further to inquire the characteristics of each concept. The results showed that many students comprehend the structure and the function of blood circulation components well, and there was no significant difference in students' understanding according to the academic level. In contrast, understanding the behavior and the mechanism of circulatory components has remarkably improved in high school students and undergraduates majoring in science and engineering. Also, students' blood circulation models were classified into seven different types. High school students and undergraduates majoring in science and engineering demonstrated a significantly higher percentage on the type of double-loop-branch compared to other academic levels. In addition, it was found that the lack of deep understanding was caused by students' misconceiving the 'equilibrium' category as 'event' category.

In this paper, we examine the impact of XAI explanations on user satisfaction and cognitive load according to the risk levels defined in the EU AI Act. XAI aims to make the internal processes of complex AI models understandable to humans and is widely used in both academia and industry. The importance and value of XAI are continuously rising; however, there has been little research determining the necessary level of explanation according to AI system risk levels. To address this gap, we designed an experiment with 120 participants, divided into 8 groups, each exposed to one of four levels of explainability(XAI) within low-risk and high-risk financial AI systems. A quantitative approach was used to measure cognitive load, user satisfaction, mental effort, and the clarity of the material design across the different AI system interfaces. The results indicate that the amount of information in explanations significantly affects cognitive load and user satisfaction, depending on the risk level. However, the impact of the level of explanation on user satisfaction was mediated by the material design, which determined how easily the information was understood. This research provides practical, regulatory, and academic contributions by offering guidelines for determining the necessary level of explanation based on AI system risk levels.

This study discusses the customer satisfaction as a result of the attributes of menu choice that can meet the needs of foreign visitors. Furthermore, it discusses the possibility that Korean food can be recognized internationally and the research data be available in advance for the people who are going to visit Korea. This study is based on documentary records and empirical studies to analyze and appreciate the effects of customer satisfaction in restaurants that foreigners usually visit. The documentary records are rooted in the related books, papers published in domestic and international associations, academic journals, and various periodicals. According to this research, the attributes of the menu choice in relation to the differences in their purposes has a meaningful influence on the customer satisfaction, so the menu choice of foreign tourists drives their gratification of Korean food. In short, the explanations and ingredients list about items in Korean restaurants need to be improved and explained to increase the number of potential foreign tourists.

The purpose of this study is to find out the changing trajectory of online game use as the development of early adolescences. It is also to explore whether the self-control has a current and a lag effect on the game use while development of students. We found these results: (a) There is a statically significant individual variability in initial levels and rates of change in online game use over time. The change of trajectory is declined. (b) Boys also have higher rate of the change in using game than girls over time. (c) Both initial state and changing rate of online game use affects negatively the academic achievement. (d) Current effect always supports, but lag effect does not support except the period from last elementary school grade to middle school grade as explanations for the developmental relation between self-control and online game use in young adolescents.

The purpose of this study is to analyze elementary school students' pre-concept of electromagnet and to investigate effects of instruction through social interactions on conceptual changes of the electromagnet. For the purpose, 108 elementary school students of 3 classes were selected from the 6th grade. They were divided into the control group I, control group II and experimental group. The control group I was treated through traditional instruction on the basis of text book. The control group II was instructed with a modified version of the textbook to help them better understand the concept of electromagnet. The experimental group was treated through instruction on the basis of the above modified version of the text book and social interactions. Conceptual changes on electromagnet before and after the treatment were quantitatively and qualitatively analyzed using the identical test. The students' styles of social interaction were qualitatively analyzed with tape records of their discussions and work sheets. Effects of instruction through social interactions based on radical constructivism on the 6th-grade elementary school students' concept of electromagnet were examined here. The results were described as follows. Firstly, after the treatment, the experimental group was statistically significantly higher in mean values of conceptual understanding and academic achievement than both the control group I and II. Secondly, styles of social interaction in the three sub-groups of the experimental group were qualitatively analyzed, among the threes, high- and medium-level sub-groups were higher in the frequency of linguistic social interaction than the low-level sub-group. Those students who were excellent in communication skills actively participated in linguistic social interactions. In discussions among the three sub-groups, students of the high- and medium-level sub-groups provided explanations or information while those of the other sub-group sometimes were passive by just listening, but in large actively participated in communication. In conclusion, instruction through social interactions was effectively changed in the 6th-grade elementary school students' concept of electromagnet.
Purpose: This study was conducted to determine the effect of the performance of Workplace Health Manager at the workplace on presenteeism in the workers. Methods: Three months before this study, between June 2010 and September 2010, a self-reporting survey of 316 employees in 136 workplaces in each of each hired a Workplace Health Manager was performed at their workplace with explanations of the purpose and methods of this study after their consent was obtained. Results: The average performance score of the Workplace Health Manager as graded by the employees was 3.8 out of 5 points. The duties of the Workplace Health Manager which received higher grades were posting of the Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS), health education, and future management with respect to the results and procedure of health care-related work. According to the employees' survey, the score for presenteeism was evaluated as 14.3 out of 30 points. Based on the presenteeism analysis results, when (1) the employee was a male, (2) the workplace was established and managed by Industry Safety and Health Committee, (3) the employees were aware of the role of Workplace Health Managers, and (4) Workplace Health Manager fulfilled his/her role actively and successfully, presenteeism was observed to a lesser extent. Conclusion: According to the results of the study, presenteeism was observed to a lesser extent when the Workplace Health Manager actively performed his/her role.
The traditional application of organic dye provides the coloration effects toward various substrates such as textiles, paper, plastic, leather and so on. However, in recent years, these organic dyes, namely colorants, have a great attention in the high technology or high performance industries of electronics and reprographics. In the subsequent discussion of this manuscript, particular emphasis will be given using various examples and explanations on colorant and color chemistry. These high performance uses present interesting challenges to the colorant chemist to design dyes to satisfy the often demanding criteria required. In this context, the following content describes how those researches are being met in the important colorant application to the academic and industrial areas.

This article identifies the nature of international relations and education and examines their potential. To achieve this goal, international relations and education can be found in supporting economically deprived regions and contributing to the development of the world based on mutual understanding. Next, the current status of international education exchanges was examined by the Ministry of Education, the National Institute for International Education, and the Gyeongnam Office of Education's International relations and Education Center. The status of international relations and education shown in these three subjects is active in practice, but there was also a limit to theorizing about them and making explanations or predictions. Based on this, the possibility of international education exchanges was discussed by the government or education office, which can bring about educational autonomy, contribute to the growth of the country through support for resource-poor countries, limited development assistance, poor academic development.

"EuiBangShinGam" is a classic on oriental medicines written by Han Byung Lyun with the pen name Shin Oh in 1913. It was written under the base of the writer's own experience as well as in the light of 36 other classics on oriental medicines such as "DongEuiBoGam", Introduction to Medicine, and Complete Works of Jingyue. In an attempt to avoid difficult theories and list only the essential informations and formulas for clinical purposes, it attained its own characteristics of not only reorganizing DongEuiBoGam in a pragmatic way but also explaining diseases classified in western medicines in oriental medicines' point of view as well as suggesting medicine formulas regarding such explanations. As a result, it is a complete and efficient medical classic through which one can gain knowledge in both classic oriental medicines and combination of western and oriental medicines. Its special features are making a separate chapter for cholera and phthisis, which is also a contagious disease, and trying in the chapter to explain the disease s in words of oriental medicines; listing details of nine major epidemic and matching them with the diseases known in oriental medicines: and recording a case of enforcing sterilization and preventive injection against contagious diseases. Han Byung Lyun, the writ er of the book, was born in northern province of Ham Gyoung, Woong Bu, and the date of death is unknown. He is one of the eight members who conceived and started the idea of organizing the Organization of Practioners of Oriental Medicines, which was a nationwide organization under the motive of restoring Oriental Medicines against the policy under the colonial government of Japan. Living a era of Japanese Imperialism, he stressed the need to accept western medicines if its beneficial to oriental medicines in order to develop oriental medicines for progressive causes. This reflects that he was a person who tried in various ways to extend oriental medicines to another level by facing up to the reality and coming up with a measure to cope up with it. In fact, he was a oriental medicine doctor who tried to protect oriental medicines by founding academic organizations, publishing academic magazines, and writing himself many papers related to oriental medicines. EuiBangShinGam can he summarized as a classic on traditional korean medicine through which one can find out about realities of Japan Imperialism and the attempts of oriental medicine practitioners under the colonial policies of Japan to make oriental medicines more developed by adding one's own thoughts as well as keeping the old, and adjusting to such situations.

The purpose of the study was to analyze the experiences of and the unmet needs for sex education of university students during their primary and secondary education. Development and refinement strategies of the sex education curriculum were constructed using the words of university students. The study was conducted during the second trimester of 1998 and the first trimester of 1999. and 356 male and female students were asked to submit weekly descriptive reports on the proposed issues related to sex education. The data were collected and analyzed by the researcher to present and summarize the in-depth meanings . The results were as follows: 1) The problems of the present sex education of primary and secondary education curriculum : it was revealed as too superficial and conventional: it brought about adverse effects because it was not efficient: also it was insufficient and not appropriate to the level of the students. The erroneous stereotypes of our society towards the sexuality act as barriers to effective sex education. 2) The abstract needs for sex education revealed on the analysis of adjectives used by the students were: 'honest, interesting, easy, useful, and correct' 3) The concrete needs for the sex education were: correct understanding of sexuality, establishment of the right sense of values towards sexuality, understanding of male and female sex psychology, knowledge of solutions for sexual problems 4) The developmental strategies for the sex education curriculum were structural, comprehensive, broad, and sufficient education content, concrete and honest explanations about sexuality : provision of early sex education; sex education provided by the parents ; establishment of an open environment for the sex education, graded education reflecting the developmental stages of the youngsters ; up-to-date sex education; preservation of the perspectives of the youngsters; provision of the same sex education opportunities for both girls and boys; practical use of audiovisual aides; open discussion; development of novel education methods like field trips 5) The change of knowledge, attitudes, and values towards sexuality after finishing the sex education course were: establishment of right sense of value towards sexuality ; reconfirmation of the concepts and value for life; belief of the necessity of sex education; change of attitudes towards womanhood; reinforcement of the self-conceit, consolidation of filial piety; and acquisition of the practical knowledge.
