  • This study was carried out to investigate the present conditions and discuss the issues of the Subrogation payment system in emergency medicine. Hitherto preceding study is focusing on controversial of management or efficient control of Subrogation payment system in emergency medicine. The object of this study is legalistic study of the Subrogation payment system in emergency medicine. The Current legalistic issues of subrogation payment system in emergency medicine are the following aspects; Firstly, there are a claimant conformity to the standard limit. Secondly, the review system is not propriety of the promptitude. Thirdly, there is a lack of propriety claim for compensation of a support responsible person. Fourthly, there are objectivity and fairness of administrative appeal system Fifthly, the point where one starts counting of extinctive prescription. Sixthly, the administrative punishment is an illogical system. Lastly, equity and fairness of the Review Agency, as an insurance company and an review Agency are sameness In conclusion, we ought to improvement an unnecessary obstructions of promptitude in the Subrogation payment system in emergency medicine, and ensure a right of emergency medicine without delay.

Failure experience and aspirations for the future: Indigenous psychological analysis of Korean adolescents and their parents (청소년과 부모의 실패와 미래성취 의식을 통해 본 한국인의 성취관련 토착심리)

  • This study examines the failure experience and aspirations for future among Korean adolescents and their parents using indigenous psychological analysis. The first part of this paper reviews the achievement literature that has used indigenous psychological analysis. The second part of this paper provides an empirical analysis of 482 students (primary=117, middle school=88, high school=72, and university=205) and 507 parents of the adolescents (fathers= 236, mothers=271). The open-ended questionnaire developed by Park and Kim (1999) was adopted for the study that asked the respondents to list the most painful experience, the person that was the most responsible for the failure, and the most important reason for the failure. The section on aspirations for the future asked the respondents to list the achievement that they would most likely to succeed, the person that they need assistance from, the type of support they need from the person, and the most important factor that would lead to them to success. The results indicate that for students the most painful failure was related to academic failure and for adults, it was related to family life. The person that was most responsible for the failure was reported by both samples be themselves. As for the most important factor that influenced their failure was a lack of self-regulation, such as a lack of effort and persistence. For the aspiration for future, students listed academic and occupational success and for adults listed harmonious family life as the most important. For social support, the adolescents listed their parents and adults listed their spouse as the person that they need assistance from. As for type of support, they listed emotional support to be the most important. As for the most important factor that would contribute to their success, majority of students and adults listed self-regulation. Based on these results and previous indigenous studies indicate, the following four conclusions could be drawn: (1) the emphasis of self-regulation as the most important reason for their past achievement, the future success and the lack of self-regulation for their failure; (2) the importance of receiving emotional support from family members; (3) the importance of educational aspiration and achievement for providing the basis of economic development; and 4) the importance goal of achieving harmonious family life.

  • The purpose of this thesis is to develop the schemes of supporting estimate for marine engines’ factories which are in a general make-to-order style. The marine engines’ factories currently use the method which depends on the past data and experiences handled by the responsible person, which causes inefficiency and inaccuracy in dealing with a huge amount of data. We apply association rule to solving the problems mentioned above. Critical data for analysis is filtered among materials that have been using actual records of performance so far. Secondly, relation with each part of marine engines through filtered data so that the company can estimate cost promptly and precisely if customers with similar components as requested. By proposed method of study estimate support efficient and supported exactly.

  • This study was conducted to explore and classify the types of the subjectivity on the perception of the spouse using Q methodology. In this study, 42 Q statements were selected as the Q sample through interview. 42 people who married person with their spouse as P samples were forced to distribute 42 Q samples on 9 point scale. The collected data was analyzed using PC QUANL program. The results of the analysis are defined as two distinctive types. First, Type I(n=36) was defined as 'Love-Ties Type' and Type II(n=6) as 'Skein of thread-Person in charge Type'. Type I perceived their spouse as fate and ties emphasizing love for their spouse. And Type II recognized their spouse as someone requires effort like unravelling a thread and a person to be responsible for. In the result of this study, structural differences between the two types were found. And it will be used as a basic resource to support a healthy and happy marriage.

The Public's Response to Communication between a Terminal Cancer Patient and Physicians: A Qualitative Study of Three Sets of Online News Comments (한 말기 암환자와 의사와의 의사소통에 대한 대중의 반응: 3개의 온라인 기사 댓글에 대한 질적 연구)

  • This study explored the public's response to an incident involving publicity about how physicians broke bad news to a terminal cancer patient by analyzing 1,960 comments from three online news websites that reported on this event using Braun and Clarke's theme analysis methods. Three themes and 10 subthemes emerged from the public's responses to the way the physicians broke the bad news. Theme 1 (a physician is a person who tells the facts) contained the following subthemes: physicians are responsible for delivering facts, but it is a matter of consideration for patients to deliver bad news to them, empathy and consolation should be expected from people other than physicians, and physicians who say what patients want to hear are cheaters. Theme 2 (there is a problem with physicians) included the following subthemes: the physicians' empathy or personality and problems with their communication methods. Theme 3 (there are obstacles to communication with dying patients) had the following subthemes: physicians become emotionally dull and find it very stressful to break bad news, giving hope to dying patients can lead to medical disputes, and empathy and consolation are also costly. When breaking bad news, the physicians delivered factual information, but they did so inappropriately, and emotional support for the patient was insufficient. In medical communication education, it is necessary to emphasize training in emotional support. In the medical field, an environment should be created where physicians can communicate as they have learned.

An Experiential Analysis on Scolding behavior of Elementary School Teachers (꾸중에 대한 초등교사의 체험분석)

  • This thesis is aimed to understand when and how elementary teachers scold their students and to explore any common psychological factors shown in the process. In order to produce the meaningful results of the research, applied is experience-based analysing method which expectedly leads to discovering psychological cause and effect occurring when school teachers scold students. 11 teachers of elementary school, including me the author, have joined as co-researchers to solve the next two issues and I made guidelines for the analysis. Given that co-researchers are locally scattered, they were grouped into three and in the mean time, analysis on scolding during 4 meeting sessions were made. The results of research problems are as follows. First issue: What common psychological factors exist in when and how teachers scold students? Common factors in 'when' part include three cases: teachers discovering the factors hindering student's desirable growth, noticing the class rules and peaceful communities are broken, or experiencing humiliating remarks and annoying behaviors and In "how' part, on the other hand, teachers speak up in a stronger voice or raise their tone to point out student's wrongdoing and give students a stoic and fierce look. Second issue: What psychological development takes place in scolding? Teachers who participated in this scolding experiment have experienced' feeling responsible and upset'. Feeling responsible is highly likely to be interpreted to result from the idea that teachers supposedly support students to grow into well-functional person in society. Meanwhile, feeling upset or even humiliated is caused by the frustration when they find their authority and dignity Ignored and damaged. The phases teachers go through during the scolding are: recognizing scold-inviting situation-> interpreting clues deserving enough to scold-> being aroused into the feelings-> deciding how to respond-> executing decision-> dealing with emotion. This thesis has distinctive qualities from existing ones in that the research focuses on agonies and conflicts faced with school teachers in class. On top of that, it is noted that this thesis meaningfully enables to realize teachers' psychological mechanism activated from scolding and to provide teachers with opportunities to see themselves more proper perspectives. However, there still remains some reservation since I had rather short period of time to collect data and we, co-researchers, had meeting sessions. To compensate for the possible shortcomings shown in this thesis, further research is expected to be followed to perform a practical analysis.

The Causes of Conflict and the Effect of Control Mechanisms on Conflict Resolution between Manufacturer and Supplier (제조-공급자간 갈등 원인과 거래조정 방식의 갈등관리 효과)

  • I. Introduction Developing the relationships between companies is very important issue to ensure a competitive advantage in today's business environment (Bleeke & Ernst 1991; Mohr & Spekman 1994; Powell 1990). Partnerships between companies are based on having same goals, pursuing mutual understanding, and having a professional level of interdependence. By having such a partnerships and cooperative efforts between companies, they will achieve efficiency and effectiveness of their business (Mohr and Spekman, 1994). However, it is difficult to expect these ideal results only in the B2B corporate transaction. According to agency theory which is the well-accepted theory in various fields of business strategy, organization, and marketing, the two independent companies have fundamentally different corporate purposes. Also there is a higher chance of developing opportunism and conflict due to natures of human(organization), such as self-interest, bounded rationality, risk aversion, and environment factor as imbalance of information (Eisenhardt 1989). That is, especially partnerships between principal(or buyer) and agent(or supplier) of companies within supply chain, the business contract itself will not provide competitive advantage. But managing partnership between companies is the key to success. Therefore, managing partnership between manufacturer and supplier, and finding causes of conflict are essential to improve B2B performance. In conclusion, based on prior researches and Agency theory, this study will clarify how business hazards cause conflicts on supply chain and then identify how developed conflicts have been managed by two control mechanisms. II. Research model III. Method In order to validate our research model, this study gathered questionnaires from small and medium sized enterprises(SMEs). In Korea, SMEs mean the firms whose employee is under 300 and capital is under 8 billion won(about 7.2 million dollar). We asked the manufacturer's perception about the relationship with the biggest supplier, and our key informants are denied to a person responsible for buying(ex)CEO, executives, managers of purchasing department, and so on). In detail, we contact by telephone to our initial sample(about 1,200 firms) and introduce our research motivation and send our questionnaires by e-mail, mail, and direct survey. Finally we received 361 data and eliminate 32 inappropriate questionnaires. We use 329 manufactures' data on analysis. The purpose of this study is to identify the anticipant role of business hazard (environmental dynamism, asset specificity) and investigate the moderating effect of control mechanism(formal control, social control) on conflict-performance relationship. To find out moderating effect of control methods, we need to compare the regression weight between low versus. high group(about level of exercised control methods). Therefore we choose the structural equation modeling method that is proper to do multi-group analysis. The data analysis is performed by AMOS 17.0 software, and model fits are good statically (CMIN/DF=1.982, p<.000, CFI=.936, IFI=.937, RMSEA=.056). IV. Result V. Discussion Results show that the higher environmental dynamism and asset specificity(on particular supplier) buyer(manufacturer) has, the more B2B conflict exists. And this conflict affect relationship quality and financial outcomes negatively. In addition, social control and formal control could weaken the negative effect of conflict on relationship quality significantly. However, unlikely to assure conflict resolution effect of control mechanisms on relationship quality, financial outcomes are changed by neither social control nor formal control. We could explain this results with the characteristics of our sample, SMEs(Small and Medium sized Enterprises). Financial outcomes of these SMEs(manufacturer or principal) are affected by their customer(usually major company) more easily than their supplier(or agent). And, in recent few years, most of companies have suffered from financial problems because of global economic recession. It means that it is hard to evaluate the contribution of supplier(agent). Therefore we also support the suggestion of Gladstein(1984), Poppo & Zenger(2002) that relational performance variable can capture the focal outcomes of relationship(exchange) better than financial performance variable. This study has some implications that it tests the sources of conflict and investigates the effect of resolution methods of B2B conflict empirically. And, especially, it finds out the significant moderating effect of formal control which past B2B management studies have ignored in Korea.
