In this study, the simulation for performance comparison between basic single stage organic rankine cycle, multi stage reheater cycle and multi stage reheater & recuperator cycle was carried out. The multi stage reheater cycle and multi stage reheater & recuperator cycle was designed to improve the efficiency for organic rankine cycle using heat source from industrial waste heat and heat sink from deep ocean water. R245fa was selected as a refrigerant for the cycle and system efficiencies were simulated by the variation of the heat sink temperature and the cycle classification. Performance characteristics were simulated by using the Aspen HYSYS. It was confirmed that the system efficiency was decreased by the increase of heat sink temperature. These results can be considered to be applied as geo-ocean thermal energy conversion in where plenty of geothermal or ocean thermal resource exist.

In this study, the required life cycle cost is evaluated in consideration of the equipment's availability during its lift cycle. In order to meet the maximum availability required by the process, the failure cost and life cycle cost is assessed The optimal equipment selection method is presented according to the analysis of the failure cost and life cycle cost. For the systems in which equipments are connected serially, the optimal equipments are selected by minimizing the life cycle cost and satisfying the required system availability goal. In addition, the selection methods and lift cycle cost are analyzed according to the cost variation of the equipment. By using the life cycle evaluation procedure, the failure cost and maintenance cost needed during the life cycle of the equipment can be presented.
Purpose - This paper investigates how business cycle impacts on corporate credit spreads since global financial crisis. Furthermore, it tests how the impact changes by the phase of the cycle. Design/methodology/approach - This study collected dataset from Barclays Global Aggregate Bond Index through the Bloomberg. It conducted multi-regression analysis by projecting business cycle using Hodrick-Prescott filtering and various cyclical variables, while ran dynamic analysis of 5-variable Vector Error Correction Model to confirm the robustness of the test. Findings - First, it proves to be statistically significant that corporate credit spreads have moved countercyclicaly since the crisis. Second, It indicates that the corporate credit spread's countercyclicality to the macroeconomic changes works symmetrically by the phase of the cycle. Third, the VECM supports that business cycle's impact on the spreads maintains more sustainably than other explanatory variable does in the model. Research implications or Originality - It becomes more appealing to accurately measure the real economic impact on corporate credit spreads as the interaction between credit and business cycle deepens. The economic impact on the spreads works symmetrically by boom and bust, which implies that the market stress could impact as another negative driver during the bust. Finally, the business cycle's sustainable impact on the spreads supports the fact that the economic recovery is the key driver for the resilience of credit cycle.

This article is to provide reasonably accurate vehicle emission estimates for the four sampled fuels which are commercially available across the nation. Emission quantities are obtained by testing a vehicle on a chassis dynamometer and capturing a sample of the emissions from the tailpipe in vehicle. The vehicle is driven following a particular pattern of idle, acceleration, cruise, and deceleration. Shown here is the trace of the test cycle known as the CVS-75 Mode which is used to certify the emission performance standards. The mode of CVS-75 consists of a cold start cycle, a hot stabilized cycle, and a hot start cycle. Emissions for the pollutants are measured in vehicle testing. These are carbon monoxide (CO), oxides of nitrogen (NOx), and total hydrocarbon (THC). The test results summarized in this report indicate that the differences for the amount of emission are quantitatively minimal.

The estimation of radio map (RM) is a fundamental and critical task for the network planning and optimization performance of mobile communication. In this paper, a RM estimation method is proposed based on a deep dual learning structure. This method can simultaneously and accurately reconstruct the urban building map (UBM) and estimate the RM of the whole cell by only part of the measured reference signal receiving power (RSRP). Our proposed method implements UBM reconstruction task and RM estimation task by constructing a dual U-Net-based structure, which is named RadioCycle. RadioCycle jointly trains two symmetric generators of the dual structure. Further, to solve the problem of interference negative transfer in generators trained jointly for two different tasks, RadioCycle introduces a dynamic weighted averaging method to dynamically balance the learning rate of these two generators in the joint training. Eventually, the experiments demonstrate that on the UBM reconstruction task, RadioCycle achieves an F1 score of 0.950, and on the RM estimation task, RadioCycle achieves a root mean square error of 0.069. Therefore, RadioCycle can estimate both the RM and the UBM in a cell with measured RSRP for only 20% of the whole cell.

Combined cycle plants which feature distinct advantages for power generation such as fast response, high efficiency, environmental friendliness, fuel flexiblity represent the majority of new generating plant installations across the globe. Combined cycle plants have different operating modes where the operating parameters can differ greatly depending which mode is operating at the time. This paper addresses the bidding strategy model of combined cycle plants in a competitive electricity market by using a characteristic of multiple operating modes of combined cycle plants. Simulation results of case studies show that an operating mode among multiple ones is selected strategically in generation bidding for more profit of generation company.

Productivity of machining using machine tools is affected by cutting conditions such as cutting speed, feedrate and depth. However, undesirable conditions that lengthen the machining cycle and shorten the tool life occur frequently because determination of cutting condition is known to depend on human experience. This paper presents a method of cycle reduction by removing undesirable conditions. For cycle reduction, maximum cutting load is determined using commercial FEM simulation code. The feedrate in the NC program is altered based on a predetermined cutting load value. To make a decision on the proposed effectiveness, a simulation is performed for the brake hub parts of an automobile. From the evaluation, it was found that the cycle reduction was under 15%.
Life cycle costing is one of the most effective cost approaches when we choose a solution from series of alternative so the least long-term cost ownership is achieved. Life cycle costing in railway industry has been focused on the prediction of investment for railway vehicles. But in today, the life cycle cost, LCC, prediction on the aspect of operation and maintenance cost through whole life cycle is highly necessary. In this paper, we present a strategy for the development of life cycle cost estimation software on the aspect of maintenance strategies of railway vehicle. For this purpose, we suggested a structure of LCC software based on the UNIFE LCC model. And we developed a pilot version of software to evaluate the LCC model that we suggested for railway vehicle. We performed LCC analysis on the brake module of metro vehicle in case study and concluded that the software and model developed in this research could enough to support engineers in choosing better cost effective solutions from many alternatives.

Since a transcritical $CO_2$ cycle shows lower performance than conventional air conditioners in the cooling mode operation, it is required to enhance the performance of the $CO_2$ cycle by applying advanced technologies and optimizing components. In this study, the cooling performance of a $CO_2$ system measured by varying refrigerant charge amount, compressor frequency, EEV opening and length of internal heat exchanger. As a result, the cooling COP of the basic system without internal heat exchanger was 2.1. The cooling performance of the modified cycle applying internal heat exchanger improved by $4-9\%$ over the basic cycle.
Purpose: The purpose of this study is to propose a method to calculate the optimal preventive maintenance cycle of radar used in the aviation weapon system of ROKAF. Methods: A hybrid model is used to estimate the optimal preventive maintenance cycle in a system that can perform condition based predictive maintenance (CBPM) through continuous diagnosis. The failure data of the radars operating in the military were used to calculate the reliability. Results: According to the research results, the reliability threshold of the radar began to decrease after 5 flights, and decreased rapidly after 12 flights. Since the second check, costs have continued to decline. Conclusion: A method is proposed to determine the cycle of optimal preventive maintenance of radar within operational budget through modeling results between reliability limit and cost for radar. The results can be used to determine the optimal preventive maintenance cycle and frequency of various avionics equipment.
