A 1-year-old spayed female Scottish Fold cat presented with a 1.5-month history of vomiting, intermittent dyspnea, and abdominal distention. Radiographic, ultrasonographic, and computed tomographic examinations suggested a tentative diagnosis of a fluid-containing cystic mass with an internal septum. The mass was surgically removed. Histological examinations revealed that the mass was a non-neoplastic hepatic cyst. The patient had no recurrence of the cystic structure but died of acute renal failure 5 years after the surgery. This report describes the unusual case of a giant hepatic cyst with clinical signs that resolved after mass removal.

A 4-year-old cat was referred for a suspected pulmonary mass. True diaphragmatic hernia presence was diagnosed via computed tomography (CT). There was a thin membrane covering the diaphragmatic defect. The membrane was thinner than the diaphragm. After contrast injection, the membrane was less enhanced than that of the normal diaphragm. The membrane was identified as a remnant of the parietal pleura. In addition, contrast-enhanced CT images provided clarity in viewing the herniated liver and falciform fat. A thinner membrane, covering the diaphragmatic defect, and attached to the thicker normal diaphragm, is considered a unique CT feature of true diaphragmatic hernia.

The purpose of this study is to examine the current status of user-contributed reviews for the Next Generation Library Catalogs, and the potential impact of user reviews available from the external sources, including Amazon.com and GoodReads.com. During the period of February 16th through April 4th, 2012, the number of holding libraries and user-contributed reviews, tags and reading lists of ten selected books were examined from the WorldCat. Also the user-contributed reviews for the same books available from Amazon.com and GoodReads.com were examined, and a case of reviews for one book was analyzed. The result shows that only a few users participated in the WorldCat, and user-contributed reviews were rarely used, when compared with tags or reading lists. Several hundred to thousand user-contributed reviews for the same books were available from Amazon.com and GoodReads.com directly linked with bibliographic records. A case of one book from Amazon.com reveals the possibility of distorting the function of user-contribution. With the introduction of the function of user-contribution, it is expected that its growth rate should be carefully observed and its potential impact on users should be thoroughly and systematically analyzed in the near future.

This report describes the diagnostic radiographic and CT features of pleuropneumonia in a cat with wet type of feline infectious peritonitis (FIP). In a 1 year-old cat presented with respiratory distress, pulmonary mass, thickened pleural wall with mass-like structures, and a large amount of pleural effusion were identified on radiography, ultrasonography, and CT. About two months later, in addition to the pre-existing lesions, multiple nodules had developed on the intestine and left kidney. The cat was diagnosed with pleuropneumonia caused by FIP through histologic examination and immunohistochemistry. Pleuropneumonia is rarely reported in cats with FIP, and only one cat with non-effusive FIP had pyogranulomatous pneumonia as consolidated lung lobe. In the present case, pleuropneumonia was detected as multiple mass-like lesions on diagnostic imaging.

A four-week-old female Scottish Fold cat weighting 0.6 kg was admitted for vaccination. During the physical examination, the liquid feces were observed from the vulva and the anus was imperforate. The location of a narrow fistula and distended colon were identified on the contrast radiography. Definitive diagnosis was made as type III atresia ani with rectovaginal fistula. Anal reconstruction and ligation of the fistula were successfully undertaken to treat atresia ani. After surgery, the cat was treated with lactulose and a special diet consisting of high fiber was fed to increase digestibility. The cat was able to control defecation after 2 weeks post-operation. There was no complication for 8 months after surgery.

The genes involved in riboflavin synthesis (ribI, II, III, and IV) were found immediately downstream of luxG in the lux operon from Photobacterium species. The single stranded DNA containing the intergenic region of lux genes and rib genes from Photobacterium phosphoreum was fully protected by P. phosphoreum mRNA from the S1 nuclease mapping assay suggesting that a transcriptional terminator was not present in the region. In addition, the levels of riboflavin synthase activity in P. phosphoreum was increased during the development of bacterial bioluminescence in the same fashion as the luciferase and fatty acid reductase activities. Insertion of the Photobacterium leiognathi DNA extending from luxB to ribII, between a strong lux promoter and a reporter gene (chloramphenicol acetyltransferase, CAT) and transferred by conjugation into P. leiognathi, did not affect expression of reporter gene. Moreover the CAT gene was not expressed in an analogous construct missing the lux promoter indicating that a promoter was not present in this region. Based on the data here, it can be concluded that the lux genes and rib genes in Photobacterium species are under common regulation.

The construction works for any commutative ring R with unit and is denoted by $R_f(E)\;l\ongrightarrow\;B$. For any pointed space B let $G_I(B)\;\longrightarrow\;B$ be the i-th Ganea fibration. Defining $M_R-cat(B):= inf{i\midR_f(G_i(B))\longrihghtarrow\;B$ admits a section} we obtain an approximation to the Lusternik-Schnirelmann category of B which satisfies .g.a product formula. In particular, if B is a 1-connected rational space of finite rational type, then $M_Q$-cat(B) coincides with the well-known (purely algebraically defined) M-category of B which in fact is equal to cat (B) by a result of K.Hess. All the constructions more generally apply to the Ganea category of maps.

We extended a general attack tree to apply cyber attack model for network vulnerability analysis. We defined an extended cyber attack tree (E-CAT) which extends the general attack tree by associating each node of the tree with a transition of attack that could have contributed to the cyber attack. The E-CAT resolved the limitation that a general attack tree can not express complex and sophisticate attacks. Firstly, the Boolean expression can simply express attack scenario with symbols and codes. Secondary, An Attack Generation Probability is used to select attack method in an attack tree. A CONDITION-composition can express new and modified attack transition which a aeneral attack tree can not express. The E-CAT is possible to have attack's flexibility and improve attack success rate when it is applied to cyber attack model.
