A linear laser-vision sensor called ‘Perception TriCam Contour' is mounted on an industrial robot and often used for various application of the robot such as the position correction and the inspection of a part. In this paper, a sensor center position calibration is presented for the most accurate use of the robot-Perceptron system. The obtained algorithm is suitable for on-site calibration in an industrial application environment. The calibration algorithm requires the joint sensor readings, and the Perceptron sensor measurements on a specially devised jig which is essential for this calibration process. The algorithm is implemented on the Hyundai 7602 AP robot, and Perceptron's measurement accuracy is increased up to less than 1.4mm.

This paper presents a camera calibration method using several images for three dimensional measurement applications such as stereo systems, mobile robots, and visual inspection systems in factories. Conventional calibration methods that use single image suffer from errors related to reference point extraction in image, lens distortion, and numerical analysis of nonlinear optimization. The camera parameter values obtained from images of same camera is not same even though we use same calibration method. The camera parameters that are obtained from several images of different view for a calibration target is usaully not same with large error values and we can not assume a special probabilistic distribution when we estimate the parameter values. In this paper, the median value of camera parameters from several images is used to improve estimation of the camera values in an iterative step with nonlinear optimization. The proposed method is proved by experiments using real images.

This paper proposed a method of the camera calibration for noncontact measure of badly illumination. The method with a semi-automation camera calibration, The user designates minimum 4 points in calibration pattern. The Perspective transformation predicts the remaining point calibration pattern. It uses at input value of the Tsai and it searches a better point, When being smaller allowable error than until, it repeats and it puts out a good calibration result.

A distributed model can easily obtain discharge at any grids spatially distributed in a watershed. But if there are subwatersheds which have various characteristics in a watershed, it is needed to apply a model calibrated at each subwatershed to obtain reliable simulation results for each subwatershed. In this study, a multi-site calibration module that can calibrate a distributed model at each subwatershed using observed flow data was developed. Methods to select multi-site calibration parameters, to apply subwatershed parameters, and to set subwatershed network information are suggested. Classes to implement multi-site calibration technique are designed and a GUI was developed, and procedures for runoff modelling using subwatershed parameters were established. Multi-site calibration module was applied to Sunsan watershed($977km^2$) of Nakdong river basin. Application results showed that the multi-site calibration technique could be applied effectively to model the calibration for each subwatershed, and the simulation results of subwatershed were improved by the application of multi-site calibration.
Since data-driven building technologies have been widely applied to building energy systems, the accuracy of building sensors has more impacts on the building performance and system performance analysis. Various building sensors, however, can have typical errors including a random error (noise) and a systematic error (bias). The systematic error is indicated by the difference between the mean of measurements and their true value. It may occur due to the sensor's physical condition, measured phenomena, working environments inside the systems. Unfortunately, a conventional calibration method has limitations in calibrating the systematic errors because of the difference between working environments and calibration conditions. In such situations, a novel sensor calibration method is needed to handle various sensor errors, especially for systematic errors, in building energy systems having various thermodynamic environments. This study proposes a building sensor calibration method named Virtual In-situ Calibration (VIC) and shows how it is applied into a real building system and how it solves the sensor errors.
In this paper, a high-speed calibration method for phased array antennas in the far-field is presented A max calibration, which is a simplification of the rotating-element electric-field vector (REV) method that calibrates each antenna element only through received power, and a method of grouping calibrations by sub-array unit rather than each antenna element were proposed. Using the Proximal Policy Optimization (PPO) algorithm, we found a partitioning optimized for the distribution of phased array antennas and calibrated it on a subarray basis. An adaptive max calibration method that allows faster calibration than the conventional method was proposed and verified through simulation. Not only is the gain of the phased array antenna higher while calibration is being made to the target, but the beam pattern is closer to the ideal beam pattern than the conventional method.
In general, camera calibration has to be gone ahead necessarily to estimate a position and an orientation of the object exactly using a camera. Autonomous land system in order to run a vehicle autonomously needs a camera calibration method appling a camera and various road environment. Camera calibration is to prescribe the confrontation relation between third dimension space and the image plane. It means to find camera calibration parameters. Camera calibration parameters using the paved road and the unpaved road are estimated. The proposed algorithm has been detected through the image processing after obtaining the paved road and the unpaved road. There is able to detect easily edges because the road lanes exist in the raved road. Image processing method is two. One is a method on the paved road. Image is segmentalized using open, dilation, and erosion. The other is a method on the unpaved road. Edges are detected using blur and sharpening. So it has been made use of Hough transformation in order to detect the correct straight line because it has less error than least-square method. In addition to, this thesis has been used vanishing point' principle. an algorithm suggests camera calibration method using Hough transformation and vanishing point. When the algorithm was applied, the result of focal length was about 10.7[mm] and RMS errors of rotation were 0.10913 and 0.11476 ranges. these have the stabilized ranges comparatively. This shows that this algorithm can be applied to camera calibration on the raved and unpaved road.

The Agricultural Policy/Environmental eXtender (APEX) models have been developed for assessing agricultural management efforts and their effects on soil and water at the field scale as well as more complex multi-subarea landscapes, whole farms, and watersheds. National Academy of Agricultural Sciences, Wanju, Korea, has modified a key component of APEX application, named APEX-Paddy for simulating water quality with considering appropriate paddy management practices, such as puddling and flood irrigation management. Calibration and validation are an anticipated step before any model application. Simple techniques are essential to assess whether or not a parameter should be adjusted for calibration. However, very few study has been done to evaluate the ability of APEX-Paddy to simulate the impact of multiple management scenarios on nutrients loss. In this study, the observation data from experimental fields at Iksan in South Kora was used in calibration and evaluation process during 2013-2015. The APEX auto- calibration tool (APEX-CUTE) was used for model calibration and sensitivity analysis. Four quantitative statistics, the coefficient of determination ($R^2$),Nash-Sutcliffe(NSE),percentbias(PBIAS)androotmeansquareerror(RMSE)were used in model evaluation. In this study, the hydrological process of the modified model, APEX-Paddy, is being calibrated and tested in predicting runoff discharge rate and nutrient yield. Field-scale calibration and validation processes are described with an emphasis on essential calibration parameters and direction regarding logical sequences of calibration steps. This study helps to understand the calibration and validation way is further provided for applications of APEX-Paddy at the field scales.

Objective of calibration is to find out the accurate kinematic relationships between robot joint angles and the position of the end-effector by estimating accurate model parameters defining the kinematic function. Estimating the model parameters requires measurement of the end-effector position at a number of different robot configurations. This paper studies the implication of measurement configurations in robot calibration. For selecting appropriate measurement configurations in robot calibration, an index is defined to measure the observability of the model parameters with respect to a set of robot configurations. It is found that, as the observability index of the selected measurement configurations increase the attribution of the position errors to the parameter errors becomes dominant while the effects of the measurement and unmodeled errors are less significant; consequently better estimation of parameter errors is expected. To demonstrate the implication of the observability measure in robot calibration, computer simulations are performed and their results are discussed.

This paper describes the calibration method and the calculation equations of expanded uncertainty for a precision electric force measuring device. The calibration of the electric force measuring device is performed three times (0 ${\circ}$(first time), $120{\circ}$(second time), $240{\circ}$(third time)) at each calibration point. It is usually selected ten points from zero load to rated load of the electric force measuring device. The expanded uncertainty is calculated by combining A type standard uncertainty and B type standard uncertainty. The calibration method and the calculation equations of expanded uncertainty can be widely used in the calibration of the precision electric force measuring device.
