A Study on Driving Motor Performance Comparison for Load Efficiency Improvement of a Bicycle Locker System (자전거 거치대 잠금장치의 부하시 효율개선을 위한 구동모터성능비교에 관한 연구)

  • This paper presents the design and implementation of a Bicycle Locker System. Generally DC motor has been used to control a Bicycle Locker System, but DC motor system requires frequent maintenances and its power efficiency is comparatively poor especially under heavy load conditions. In order to improve this difficulties, this paper adopts BLDC motor for a Bicycle Locker System and its motor controller is developed. The performances of locker units are compared between DC motor unit and BLDC motor unit. The motor power consumptions between two motors are discussed. Test results verify that power efficiency of the suggested BLDC drive unit is considerably improved compared to the DC drive unit with load condition.

  • In this paper, thermal reliability of a closed type BLDC (Brushless DC) motor for high speed axial fan was analyzed by the accelerated life test. The closed type BLDC (Model No. MB1-8855-J01) motor was controlled by PCB module, which was composed of various electrical components. The failure of the closed type BLDC motor happened in PCB module due to high temperature. Failure mechanism of the closed type BLDC motor appears to be electrolyte dry out of capacitor. The accelerate life test was performed in temperature stress of $85^{\circ}C\;and\;105^{\circ}C$, respectively The failure data from the accelerated life test were analyzed and the life in each stress level was estimated with 960h and 261 h. At last, both life expression according to operating temperature of PCB module and life of the closed type BLBC motor in normal condition $(50^{\circ}C)$ were suggested.

  • Recently, it is increased to apply sensorless drive for BLDC (Brushless DC) motor to maximize operating efficiency and fuel efficiency to an electrical component of (H)EV. Especially, Electric vehicle component promotes a fuel efficiency enhancement by the carbon dioxide emissions regulation of a vehicle becoming the principal of the environmental pollution globally, the oil price hike that continued increasingly. We suggested the air compressor which applied BLDC motor for electric vehicle component and compared suggested BLDC motor with the conventional DC motor. The experimental results show that the driving efficiency was increased and was inproved compressive force by suggested BLDC motor.

  • A study on control of BLDC Is studying In progress, because of radical increase of survo motor at industrial machine and home machine. Nowaday, we study on control of BLDC, because of radical increase of survo motor at Industry and home. Although control ratio and output of the unit volume are good than the others , BLDC motor demands high cost. Therefor, the study on low cost BLDC have square wave back-emf is studing in progress. Therefor, BLDC Motor was studied to reduce high cost that have square wave back-emf at recently. This paper shows that BLDC Motor, developed highly responsility by using Genetic Algorithm(GA) that the advantages of learning ability, Also, this paper shows experiment and simulation at 200W BLDC that have squarewave back-emf by using Genetic Algorithm. At the result of this methods, the study prove experiment's right.

  • This paper presents the design and control of a small Brushless DC (BLDC) Motor for entertainment robots. In order to control the developed BLDC motor, Adaptive Fuzzy Control (AFC) scheme via Parallel distributed Compensation(PDC) is developed for the multi- input/multi-output plant model represented by the Takagi-Sugeno(TS) model. The alternative AFC scheme is proposed to provide asymptotic tracking of a reference signal for the systems with uncertain or slowly time-varying parameters. The developed control law and adaptive law guarantee the boundedness of all signals in the closed-loop system. In addition, the plant state tracks the state of the reference model asymptotically with time for any bounded reference input signal. The suggested design technique is applied to the velocity control of a developed small BLDC motor for entertainment robots.

  • The electrical curtain is an electronic product which is most suitable for the sphere of intelligent home network. It provides the basic feature of intelligent home network such as the followings; various functions, powerful control. It also becomes the ideal technology with inexpensive power-line protocol, energy saving and solar power generation. Generally it is a suitable motor for BLDC to move the electrical curtain, because it provides the maintenance without difficulty, long-lived use with good efficiency. On this paper, we proposed the BLDC motor controller desinged by CDM(Coefficient Diagram Method) and evaluated its performance with a simulation of the plant, designed the electrical curtain using BLDC motor and powe-line protocol.

  • This paper presents a numerical optimization technique and switching phase control technique aiming at improvement of efficiency of the low voltage BLDC motor. The optimization technique is performed using the generalized sensitivity technique, response surface method(RSM) and sampling minimization technique. In order to minimize current consumption of the BLDC motor, the switching method of the driving device is optimized using RSM with finite element analysis. The ratings of BLDC motor are 50 W, 24 V, 1200 rpm. As optimizing results, the input current is reduced from 2.78 to 2.51 [A] when the switching phase is shifted by -2.65 [DEG_ELC] at the rated driving speed of 1200 [rpm]. It is confirmed that the proposed method reduces the consuming current of the low voltage BLDC motor through switching phase control method using the numerical optimization method.

  • Vibration of a BLDC motor is a coupled phenomenon between mechanical characteristics and magnetic origins through the motor air-gap. When a relative misalignment of rotor in the air-gap center exists on the assemblage it is considered to influence the motor system characteristics, depending on the degree of misalignment. The rotor-motor system used in a washing machine is modeled using FE-TM and a magnetic force of BLDC motor with radial rotor eccentricity is analyzed. And the transient whirl responses of a rotor system with relative misalignment in the motor air-gap are investigated considering mechanical origins and magnetic effects. Results show that rotor misalignment in the air-gap affect the vibration of the rotor-motor system.

  • This paper describes an signal processing method for the hall sensorless position control of ETC control system using a BLDC motor. The proposed ETC control system, which is mainly consisted of a BLDC motor, a throttle plate, a return spring and reduction gear, has a position sensor with an analog voltage output on the throttle valve instead of BLDC motor for detecting rotor position of motor. So the additional commutation information is necessarily needed to control the mentioned ETC module. In order to estimate and determine the commutation state, it is proposed to properly manipulate the resolution of A/D converter considering the mechanical parameter, that is, the number of motor slot and the ratio of reduction gear. Through this method, the estimation of commutation state for operating the system is possible and the discrete signal for commutation is stably obtained. The validity of the method is examined through the experimental results.

  • In this paper, we address the problem of designing and implementing an oil pump control system driven by a brushless DC (BLDC) motor. The proposed oil pump plays the role of providing fuel to the engine clutch and transmission of hybrid vehicles. Main consideration is given to enhancing response feature and accuracy of the oil pump by simplifying the controller that is driven by a BLDC motor under PWM voltage control, which is a standard control method for BLDC motors. The proposed control scheme also helps to increase efficiency and reliability of the oil pump system. To validate the performance of the proposed system, we conduct experiments on BLDC motor speed control and oil pump operations.
