Study on the Friction Characteristics for AZ31 Sheet as Various Surface Treatment of SKD11 (SKD 11 금형 표면처리에 따른 AZ31 판재 마찰 특성 연구)

  • The material used is a commercial magnesium based alloy AZ31(Mg-3Al-1Zn) sheet with a thickness of 0.8 mm. Friction tests at various temperatures(R.T. to $200^{\circ}C$) and at various holding forces in the 4 type molds were carried out to investigate the coefficient of friction. A warm drawing process with a local heating and cooling technique was developed in the Mg alloy sheet forming to improve formability because it is very difficult for Mg alloy to deform at room temperature by the conventional method. So, the coefficient of friction at various mold surface treatment conditions in this study was needed to develop the Mg alloy sheet forming technology.

CO₂ Weldability of Zn Coated Steel Sheet(3);Effect of Process Condition on the Generation of Weld Defects (아연도금강판의 CO₂ 용접특성(3);용접결함의 발생에 미치는 시공조건의 영향)

  • Formation of the weld defect, such as a blowhole and a pit in lap-jointed fillet arc welds has been a serious problem in arc welding of Zn-coated steel sheet. In this study, the relationship among welding conditions, welding materials and defect formation was investigated in order to minimize these defects in the CO₂ welds. In addition, the arc stability of the commercial welding wires was evaluated for revealing their effects on defect formation. Main conclusions obtained are as follows:1) There was no difference between shear tensile strength of the sound welds and that of the welds with blowholes whose diameters are less than 0.5mm. However, the welds with blowholes whose diameters are equal or larger than 0.5mm and pits exhibited tensile strength 10~20% and 30~40% lower than that of the sound welds respectively.2) The optimum welding condition to effectively prevent or reduce the weld defects formation are as follows:- The welding variables of 220A-23V-100cm/min and 120A-190V-30cm/min were recommended for minimizing the weld defects.- The gap between the two sheets at the lap-joint should be controlled to more than 0.2mm- Solid wire was less susceptible to the formation of the weld defects than the flux-cored wire.- The low welding current condition produced less weld defects than the hihg welding current condition.3) One of the reason why the amount of the defect was reduced at the low welding current was the gas discharging by the active agitation of the molten pool, due to an increasing in the number of the short circuit. Codoped ZnO films by a co-spray deposition technique for photovoltaic applications

  • A co-spray deposition technique has been developed to bypass a fundamental limitation in the conventional spray deposition technique, i.e., the deposition of metal oxides from incompatible precursors in the starting solution. With this technique, ZnO films codoped with F and Al have been successfully synthesized, in which F is incompatible with Al. Two starting solutions were prepared and co-sprayed through two separate spray heads. One solution contained only the F precursor, $NH_4F$. The second solution contained the Zn and Al precursors, $Zn(O_2CCH_3)_2$ and $AlCl_3$. The deposition was carried out at $500^{\circ}C$ on soda-lime glass in air. A minimum sheet resistance, $55.4{\Omega}/{\square}$, was obtained for Al and F codoped ZnO films after vacuum annealing at $400^{\circ}C$, which was lower than singly-doped ZnO with either Al or F. The transmittance for the codoped ZnO samples was above 90% in the visible range. This co-spray deposition technique provides a simple and cost-effective way to synthesize metal oxides from incompatible precursors with improved properties for photovoltaic applications.

  • As GA(Galvannealed sheet steel, GA) has good corrosion resistance, weldability and paintability as well as excellent stamping formability it's demand is rapidly increasing for automotive panel. But the layer of the Galvannealed sheet steel is easy to have a coating layer such as powdering and flaking in the press process because it is composed of Fe-Zn alloy. Therefore, the process condition is properly required to form the surface treated sheet steel. The frictional characteristics with dies are changed according to the annealing temperature, $505^{\circ}C,\;515^{\circ}C\;and\;540^{\circ}C$ during the process. To obtain the frictional characteristics of GA sheet steel in this study, on flat friction test is conducted. The friction coefficient is compared with the variation of pressure and velocity, viscosity of lubricant at the various galvannealed temperatures.

  • The frictional characteristics of Zn-Ni coated steel sheets were investigated by draw bead test and strip draw test. In strip draw test, the frictional characteristics were evaluated by the drawing force ratio (Tc/Ts) for half coating-stripped specimens. It is clarified that the drawing force ratio obtained by strip draw test is a convenient parameter compared to coefficient of friction obtained by draw bead test to evaluate the frictional characteristics of Zn-Ni coated steel sheets.

  • Optical, electrical and structural properties of VOx/ZnO/VOx thin film are studied. The VOx/ZnO/VOx multilayer is deposited by using a radio frequency (RF) sputtering system. The VOx/ZnO/VOx thin film shows the high temperature coefficient of resistance (TCR) of $-3.12%/^{\circ}C$ and the low sheet resistance of about 80 $k{\Omega}/sq$ at room temperature. The responsivity and detectivity of the bolometer are measured as a function of modulation frequency.

  • Ga-doped and Al-doped ZnO thin films were fabricated via a sol-gel technique and electrical and optical properties of the films were investigated. Film deposition was performed by spin coating at 4000 rpm for 30 s on $SiO_2$ glass substrate FE-SEM was used to obtain the surface morphology images and the film thickness Four-point probe and UV-VIS spectrophotometer were used to measure the sheet resistance and the optical transparency, respectively.

  • We prepared paint-type and sheet-type EM wave absorbers with Mn-Zn Ferrite, Ni-Zn Ferrite, Ba Ferrite, Sr Ferrite, and Sendust against ghosts of a mater in ships. To prepare the absorbers, enamel paint and epoxy paint were used as binders. The prepared EM wave absorber's absorption properties were investigated.   • Electroluminescence(EL) come from the light emission obtained by electrical excitation energy passing through a phosphor layer under applied high electrical field. The preparation and characterizations of light emitting ACPEL(alternating-current powder electroluminescent) cell based on two kinds of phosphor mixed ZnS:Mn, Cu and ZnS:Cu phosphor. Basic structure is ITO/Mixed Phosphor/insulator/Al sheet, each layer was mixed by binder, which concentration 11p for phosphor, 8p for insulator. Dielectric properties was investigated first and emission properties of P-LED based on ZnS:Mn,Cu/ZnS:Cu,Br mixture. Emission spectra exhibits two kinds of main peaks at 100V, 1kHz sinusoidal excitation.
