Synthesis and Spectroscopic Characterization of the New Sitting-atop Complexes from Reaction of Zirconyl Nitrate and Free Base meso-Tetraarylporphyrins in Mild Conditions

  • A series of sitting-atop (SAT) complexes, [(ZrO)$H_2t(X)pp(NO_3)_2$], have been prepared via the reactions of free base meso-tetraarylporphyrins, $H_2$t(X)pp, with zirconyl nitrate hydrate, ZrO(N$O_3)_2{\cdot}xH_2$O. The products have been characterized by a variety of methods including $^1H\;NMR,\;^{13}C$ NMR, IR and UV-Vis spectroscopies, elemental analysis and conductance measurements. The data indicate that the meso-tetraarylporphyrins coordinate with two pyrrolenine nitrogen atoms to the zirconyl cation located above the distorted porphyrin plane and two protons remain on the pyrrole nitrogens. Such half sandwich-type sitting-atop complexes may be considered as models for the initial steps of the metallation of the macrocycles.

  • An efficient and novel one-pot synthesis of new 3,4-dihydro-3-substituted-2H-naphtho[2,1-e][1,3]oxazine derivatives from 1-naphthol, various anilines and formalin at room temperature grinding is presented. The six-membered N,O-heterocyclic skeleton was constructed via zirconyl(IV) chloride promoted Mannich type reaction. In vitro antimicrobial activities of synthesized compounds have been investigated against Gram-positive Bacillus subtilis, Gram negative Escherichia coli and two fungi Candida albicans and Aspergillus niger in comparison with standard drugs. The results of preliminary bioassay indicate that some of title compounds possess significant antibacterial and antifungal activity.

졸-겔법에 의한 지르코니아 섬유의 제조 (The Fabrication of Zirconia Fibers from Sol-Gel Process)

  • Zirconia gel fibers could be made by drawing from polyester sol containing zirconyl oxychloride during the reaction between ethylen glycol and citric acid. In this case, the critical mole ratio of zirconyl oxychloride to citric acid was about 4 and by adding CaCl2 and calcining the gel fiber in the air, cubic stabilized zirconia fibers having much micropores at surface could be obtained.

  • 인산염을 기초로 한 다양한 촉매 기질의 합성과 더불어, 촉매활성를 가지는 여러 가지 전이 금속을 이러한 기질에 도입한 다양한 이종상 촉매가 개발되어 왔다. 우리는 phosphoric acid 와 zirconyl chloride을 이용하여 간단한 방법으로 ${\alpha}$-zirconium phosphate (Zr(HPO4)2.H2O)을 합성하였다. Phosphoric acid의 농도 변화에 따른 crystallinity의 변화를 XRD를 통해 분석하였고, FE-SEM을 통하여 형태를 확인 하였다. 특히, 합성한 각각의 생성물을 다양한 종의 amine을 이용하여 intercalation 반응을 수행하였다. 이를 XRD, TEM을 통하여 결정 구조 변화를 확인 하였고, 더 나아가 잠재적 촉매로서의 응용성을 연구할 예정이다.

양이온교환용 PVA/PAM/Zirconium phosphate 막의 제조 (Preparation of PVA/PAM/Zirconium phosphate Membrane for Proton Exchange Membranes)

  • 본 연구는 직접메탄을 연료전지(Direct Methanol Fuel Cell)에 적용가능한 양이온교환막 개발에 관한 것으로 PVA/PAM/ZrP 막을 제조하여 PAM, ZrP의 함량 및 농도 변화에 따른 막의 특성을 연구하였다. PVA/PAM/ZrP 막은 PVA에 가교제인 PAM의 함량을 7∼11 wt%로 증가시켜 제조하였으며 그 각각의 막에 8$0^{\circ}C$에서 zirconyl chloride와 Phosphoric acid solution에 침적시켜 제조하였다. ZrP의 농도를 1, 2 M로 변화시켜 메탄을 투과도, 이온전도도, 함수율 및 이온교환용량을 측정하였다. PVA/PAM/ZrP 막의 메탄올 투과도는 10/^{-8}∼l0^{-6}$ $\textrm{cm}^2$/sec, 이온전도도는 $10^{-3}~10^{-2}$ S/cm 정도 나타내었으며 함수율은 0.26∼l.17 g $H_2O$/g membrane, 이온교환용량은 2.59∼5.1 meq/g membrane의 결과를 보였는데 이는 PVA/PAM 막과 비교하여 메탄을 투과도, 이온전도도는 각각 18%, 23% 정도 증가한 것으로 관찰되었다.

지르코늄-피리치온 착물에 관한 연구 (Studies on the Zr-Pyrithione Complex)

  • Zirconium pyrithione complex was prepared by reaction of sodium-pyrithione solution and zirconyl chloride solution. The physico-chemical properties of the complex was examined by means of IR, XRD, DSC and NMR. And the stability of Zr-complex was investigated on the basis of accelerated stability analysis under conditions of temp. elevation, UV radiation and pH dependence. The result indicates that the ratio of the ligand to metal in Zr-pyrithione complex was determined 4:1, and its stability constant was $4.643{\times}10^4$. The rate order of decomposition of the complex was apparent first-order reaction of which rate constant and the decomposition rate was not only accelerated by effect of heat and UV radiation but was catalyzed by specific acid-base catalysis considered the pH dependence for the hydrolysis of the complex and the suspension was most stable over the range pH 4-8 indicating that solvent catalysis is the primary made of reaction in this region.

  • Barium titanyl oxalates, strontium titanyl oxalates and calcium zirconyl oxalates were prepared with variation of solution concentration and method of adding mixed metal ion solution into oxalic acid. Then they were aged in distilled water, ethanol or methanol, respectively. Barium titanyl oxalates and calcium zironyl oxalates were grown in water and strontium titanyl oxalates were groun in both water and methanol. They were supposed to be grown through the solutionl and reprecipitation mechanism. Nonuniform dispersion of particles in liquid phase is thought to cause abnormal particle growth.

원자로냉각제 정화용 고온흡착재 개발

  • 약 30$0^{\circ}C$, 160 kg/$cm^2$의 원자로냉각재계통에서 사용이 가능한 $^{60}$Co 제거용 고온흡착제를 얻기 위하여, ZrO$_2$를 zirconyl nitrate를 출발물질로 하여 졸-겔법으로, aluminum isopropoxide를 출발 물질로 하여 A1$_2$O$_3$를, aluminum isopropoxide와 titanium tetraisopropoxide를 출발물질로하여 TiO$_2$-A1$_2$O$_3$를, aluminum isopropoxide와 zirconium propoxide를 출발물질로 하여 ZrO$_2$-A1$_2$O$_3$를 금속알콕사이드 가수분해법으로 제조하였다. 제조한 흡착제는 600~140$0^{\circ}C$의 온도로 하소 하였으며, 결정전이, 열적특성, 비표면적 등의 물성변화를 알아보기 위하여 X선회절, 적외선분광분석, 열분석, 전자현미경 관찰, BET 비표면적 등을 측정하였다. 또한, 고온수에서 이들 흡착제의 Co$^{2+}$ 흡착특성을 autoclave를 이용한 회분식 흡착실험으로 알아보았다. 이들 흡착제 제조시 하소온도에 따른 Co$^{2+}$ 흡착량, $Al_2$O$_3$ 흡착제 제조시 pH 변화에 따른 Co$^{2+}$ 흡착량과 TiO$_2$-A1$_2$O$_3$ 흡착제 제조시 TiO$_2$ 함량에 따른 Co$^{2+}$ 흡착량과 25$0^{\circ}C$의 고온에서 ZrO$_2$$Al_2$O$_3$의 표면에 생성된 코발트 화합물을 XPS와 EPMA로 부터 확인하였다.

지르코니아를 담지한 할로이사이트 나노튜브를 충진재로 이용한 에폭시 복합체의 기계적 열적 특성 분석 (Analysis of Mechanical and Thermal Properties of Epoxy Complex using Zirconia Supported Halloysite Nanotubes as Filler)

  • Epoxy resins are widely used in various industrial fields. However, they suffer from brittleness, an issue that must be addressed for further applications. To solve this problem, additional fillers are needed to improve the mechanical and thermal properties of the resins; zirconia is one such filler. However, it has been reported that aggregation may occur in the epoxy composites as the amount of zirconia increases, preventing enhancement of the mechanical strength of the epoxy composites. Herein, to reduce the aggregation, zirconia was well dispersed on halloysite nanotubes (HNTs), which have high thermal and mechanical strength, by a conventional wet impregnation method using zirconyl chloride octahydrate as a precursor. The mechanical and thermal strengths of the epoxy composites with The zirconia impregnated HNTs (Zr/HNT) were investigated. Zr/HNT were characterized by Scanning electron microscope (SEM), transmittance electron microscopy (TEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD) and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy. The thermal strength of the epoxy composites was studied by thermomechanical analysis (TMA) and the mechanical strength of the epoxy composites (flexural strength) was studied by using a universal testing machine (UTM). The mechanical and thermal strengths of the epoxy complex with Zr/HNT were improved compared to those of the epoxy complex with HNT, and also increased as the content of Zr/HNT increased.
