The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of cavity configurations on the marginal leakage of class 5 glass ionomer cement and composite resin restorations. Four types of cavities such as saucer shape. notch shape. combined shape(notch shape occlusally and saucer shape gingivally). and U shape were prepared on the buccal and lingual surfaces of 80 extracted premolars(40 cavities for each shape). Occlusal cavity margins were placed at enamel and cervical margins were placed at dentin. 10 cavities of each shape were restored with Ketac Fil as a conventional glass ionomer cement. Fuji II LC improved as a resin modified glass ionomer cement, Z 100 as a hybrid composite resin. and Tetric Flow as a flowable composite resin (40 cavities for each material). After thermocycling, teeth were immersed in 5% basic fuchsin solution for 6 hours and sectioned longitudinally in a buccolingual direction through the center of the restoration. The dye penetrations at the tooth restoration interface were examined by stereomicroscope. The Result were as follows 1. In saucer shape, notch shape and combined shape, composite resin restorations showed lesser leakage than glass ionomer restorations(p<0.05) and in U shape. Tetric Flow showed the least marginal leakage and others were decreased as Z 100. Fuji II LC improved, Ketac Fil in that order. There were statistically significant difference between Tetric Flow and Fuji II LC improved. Ketac Fil and between Z 100 and Ketac Fil(p<0.05). 2. In Ketac Fil restoration group, saucer shape showed the highest marginal leakage and U shape showed the least marginal leakage and others were decreased as notch shape, combined shape in that order. There were statistically significant difference between saucer shape and combined shape, U shape and between notch shape and U shape(p<0.05). 3. In Fuji II LC improved restoration group, U shape showed the least marginal leakage. There were statistically significant difference between U shape and other three shapes(p<0.05). 4. The cavity configuration had no significant effect on marginal leakage of composite resin restorations(p>0.05).
In this study, the influence of silane coupling agents, featuring different organo-functional groups on the interlaminar and thermal properties of woven glass fabric-reinforced nylon 6 composites, has been by means of short-beam shear tests, dynamic mechanical analysis, scanning electron microscopy, and thermogravimetric analysis. The results indicate that the fiber-matrix interfacial characteristics obtained using the different analytical methods agree well with each other. The interlaminar shear strengths (ILSS) of glass fabric/nylon 6 composites sized with various silane coupling agents are significantly improved in comparison with that of the composite sized commercially. ILSS of the composites increases in the order: Z-6076 with chloropropyl groups in the silanes > Z-6030 with methacrylate groups> Z-6020 with diamine groups; this trend is similar to that of results found in an earlier study of interfacial shear strength. The dynamic mechanical properties, the fracture surface observations, and the thermal stability also support the interfacial results. The improvement of the interfacial properties may be ascribed to the different chemical reactivities of the reactive amino end groups of nylon 6 and the organo-functional groups located at the ends of the silane chains, which results from the increased chemical reactivity in order chloropropyl > methacrylate > diamine.
xylA promoter is a major promoter in xylose operon of Escherichia coli. xylA promoter is sufficient as the promoter for the construction of new expression vector because this promoter was tightly controlled and induced by the addition of xylose. For the construction of xylose-inducible expression vector, 600 bp of xylA promoter was ligated between AatII and HindIII of pUC18, named pXA600. In order to investigate the effect of XylR protein encoded by xylR gene on the xylA promoter, 1,988 bp of xylR gene including its promoter was ligated into downstream of multiple cloning site to the opposite direction of xylA promoter in pXA600, named pXAR600. For the measurement of expression level, 3,048 bp of lacZ structural gene was fused into xylA promoter in both plasmids pXA600 and pXAR600 as a reporter gene, named pXA600-lacZ and pXAR600-lacZ, respectively. The $\beta$-galactosidase activity of pXA600-lacZ and pXAR600-lacZ in E. coli JM109 was determined to be 1,641 and 2,304 unit by the induction with xylose in LB medium, respectively. The $\beta$-galactosidase activity of pXAR600-lacZ/JM109 was about 1.4 times higher by the induction with xylose than that of pXA600-lacZ/JM109. The $\beta$-galactosidase activity of pXA600-lacZ and pXAR600-lacZ in E.coli JM109 showed 6,282 and 9,320 unit by the induction with xylose in DM minimal medium, respectively. A regulator, xylR protein works as an activator for the gene expression by the addition of xylose in the xylose-inducible vectors because the level of gene expression in pXA600 is increased by the insertion of xylR gene into the same vector. The xynA gene of Streptomyces thermocyaneoviolaceus cloned in pXA600 and pXAR600 was successfully expressed in E. coli BLR(DE3). As a result, plasmids pXA600 and pXAR600 using xylA promoter are sufficient as new expression system to produce a foreign protein in E. coli.
This study was carried out to investigate sound sensation of Korean traditional silk fabrics with similar sound pressure levels (SPL) and to identify secondary physical factors excluding SPL which determine sound sensation of the fabrics. Sounds of the silk fabrics tended to be perceived differently from one another as for some of sensation such as clearness ant roughness. They were felt more strongly in aspects of loudness, roughness, and highness than of softness, sharpness, clearness, and pleasantness. Subjective clearness, roughness, and highness were significantly correlated with some of sound parameters including roughness(z), ${\Delta}L,\;and\;{\Delta}f$. Especially, both of clearness and roughness which were varied among the fabrics were found as determined by ${\Delta}L$. This result means that ${\Delta}L$ as well as roughness(z) and ${\Delta}f$ could be utilized secondary to SPL in order to satisfy some of human sensibility for sound from traditional silk fabrics without variation of physical loudness.
This study aims at the observation of the Real in the Post-Lacanian theory. It is focused on two questions as ideology and fantasy. On this basis Slavoj $\v{Z}i\v{z}ek$ has rearticulated the theory of ideology by reexamining Althusser's version of it critically. The ideology is the logic of fantasy based on the foreclosure. And the ethical act of identifying with the symptom is absolutely called for in order to radically rearticulate it. The really key element in the concept is now found to be Lacanian object a, the symptom as jouissance. In additional, the two part of the study, far from belonging to two different domains, that of political analysis and artistic analysis, relate to each other like the two surfaces of a Moebius band. Finally, the role of the Lacanian real is radically ambiguous: true, it erupts in, the form of a traumatic return, derailing the balance of the Order, but it serves at the same time as a support of this very balance. The real functions here not as something that resists symbolization, as a meaningless leftover that can not be integrated into the symbolic universe, but on the contrary, as its last support.
Yaw-checking and course-keeping ability in IMO's ship manoeuvrability standards is reviewed from the viewpoint cf sole navigation Three kinds of virtual series-ships, which have different course instability, are taken as test models. The numerical simulation on Z-test is carried out in order to examine the correlation between known manoeuvrability in spiral characteristics and various kinds of overshoot angle. Then simulator experiments are executed with series-ships in a curoed, narrow waterway by six operators(five active pilots and one ex-captain) in order to examine the correlation between known manoeuvrability and degree of manoeuvring difficulty. IMO criteria for yaw-checking and course-keeping ability are discussed and revised criteria are proposed.

Proficiency testing by interlaboratory comparisons is used to determine the performance of individual laboratories. In order to verify the quality of acute toxicity testing with Daphnia magna, National Institute of Environmental Research in South Korea is regularly organizing interlaboratory comparisons to estimate the analytical accuracy of different laboratories. Total 58 laboratories located in South Korea took part in interlaboratory proficiency testing scheme with three proficiency testing samples. TU(Toxic Unit) values of each laboratory were determined and robust z-score was calculated in order to evaluate the proficiency levels. Based on the robust z-score classification, 74% of the participant laboratories showed a satisfactory performance (43 laboratories). The main reason of 'unsatisfactory' performance seemed to be considered that the unsuitable management of test organism incubation system and the lack of experience on the identification of the test organism condition by effect of toxicity.

An improved method based on direct extraction and simultaneous optimization is developed to determine model parameters of symmetric inductors fabricated by the high resistivity(HR) silicon-on-insulator(SOI) RF CMOS process. In order to improve modeling accuracy, several model parameters are directly extracted by Y and Z-parameter equations derived from two equivalent circuits of symmetric inductor and grounded center-tap one, and the number of unknown parameters is reduced using parallel resistance and total inductance equations. In order to improve optimization accuracy, two sets of measured S-parameters are simultaneously optimized while same model parameters in two equivalent circuits are set to common variables.
In this paper, we study the oscillation problem of the following higher-order neutral differential equation with positive and negative coefficients and mixed arguments $$z^{(n)}(t)+q_1(t)|x(t-{\sigma}_1)|^{\alpha-1}x(t-{\sigma}_1)+q_2(t)|x(t-{\sigma}_2)|^{\beta-1}x(t-{\sigma}_2)=e(t)$$, where $t{\geq}t_0$, $z(t)=x(t)-p(t)x(t-{\tau})$ with $p(t)$ > 0, ${\beta}>1>{\alpha}>0$, ${\tau}$, ${\sigma}_1$ and ${\sigma}_2$ are real numbers. Without imposing any restriction on ${\tau}$, we establish several oscillation criteria for the above equation in two cases: (i) $q_1(t){\leq}0$, $q_2(t)>0$, ${\sigma}_1{\geq}0$ and ${\sigma}_2{\leq}{\tau}$; (ii) $q_1(t){\geq}0$, $q_2(t)<0$, ${\sigma}_1{\geq}{\tau}$ and ${\sigma}_2{\leq}0$. As an interesting application, our results can also be applied to the following higher-order differential equation with positive and negative coefficients and mixed arguments $$x^{(n)}(t)+q_1(t)|x(t-{\sigma}_1)|^{\alpha-1}x(t-{\sigma}_1)+q_2(t)|x(t-{\sigma}_2)|^{\beta-1}x(t-{\sigma}_2)=e(t)$$. Two numerical examples are also given to illustrate the main results.
The goal of this paper is to define p-adic Hardy sums and p-adic q-higher-order Hardy-type sums. By using these sums and p-adic q-higher-order Dedekind sums, we construct p-adic continuous functions for an odd prime. These functions contain padic q-analogue of higher-order Hardy-type sums. By using an invariant p-adic q-integral on $\mathbb{Z}_p$, we give fundamental properties of these sums. We also establish relations between p-adic Hardy sums, Bernoulli functions, trigonometric functions and Lambert series.
