  • In this paper, we envisioned a multimedia object recognition system processing and combinig information from all available sources, such as 2-D, 3-D, color and sound data. Out of the overall system, we proposed 3-D information extraction and object recognition methods. Firstly, surfaces are classified by z-gradient from the range data, surface features are extracted using the intersection of normal vectors. Also feature relationship such as intersection angle and distance is established between the surfaces. Secondly, recognition is accomplished by matching process which is improtant step in the image understanding systems. Matching process is very improtant procedures because of more general and more efficient method is needed in the field of multimedia sytem. Therefore, we focused the proposal of matching process and in this article, first of all, we deal with the matching process of the 3-D object. Similarity measures are calculated.

  • 3D printing is one of the emerging technologies and getting a lot of attention. To do 3D printing, 3D model is first generated, and then converted to G-code which is 3D printer's operations. Facet, which is a small triangle, represents a small surface of 3D model. Depending on the height or precision of the 3D model, the number of facets becomes very large and so the conversion time from 3D model to G-code takes longer. Apach Hadoop is a software framework to support distributed processing for large data set and its application range gets widening. In this paper, Hadoop is used to do the conversion works time-efficient way. 2-phase distributed algorithm is developed first. In the algorithm, all facets are sorted according to its lowest Z-value, divided into N parts, and converted on several nodes independently. The algorithm is implemented in four steps; preprocessing - Map - Shuffling - Reduce of Hadoop. Finally, to show the performance evaluation, Hadoop systems are set up and converts testing 3D model while changing the height or precision.

  • Glass infiltration 방법을 이용하여 '$A_2O_3$/Glass/$Al_2O_3$' 구조의 무수축 LTCC 기판을 제조하였다. Glass infiltration 법에 의한 무수축 기판 제조에 있어 가장 중요한 요소로는 Glass의 점성은 낮고, alumina에 대한 Glass의 젖음성 (wettability)이 좋으며. 낮은 반응성이 요구되기 때문에 Glass의 조성 선정이 무엇보다 중요하다. 본 연구에서는 Na, Pb, Mg 계열의 각기 다른 glass들의 alumina에 대한 젖음성을 평가하여 젖음성 및 치밀성이 우수한 Pb 계열의 Glass를 이용하여 LTCC 기판으로 적용 가능한 온도인 $700{\sim}900^{\circ}C$에서 '$A_2O_3$/Glass/$Al_2O_3$'구조의 glass infiltration 특성을 고찰하였다. 소성 후 수축율은 x-y축 0.2%, Z축 40%, 밑도 $3.8g/cm^3$, 유전율 6.8, 품질계수 552로 무수축 기판으로서의 적용 가능성을 확인하였다.

A Study on Improvement of Face Recognition Rate with Transformation of Various Facial Poses and Expressions (얼굴의 다양한 포즈 및 표정의 변환에 따른 얼굴 인식률 향상에 관한 연구)

  • Various facial pose detection and recognition has been a difficult problem. The problem is due to the fact that the distribution of various poses in a feature space is mere dispersed and more complicated than that of frontal faces, This thesis proposes a robust pose-expression-invariant face recognition method in order to overcome insufficiency of the existing face recognition system. First, we apply the TSL color model for detecting facial region and estimate the direction of face using facial features. The estimated pose vector is decomposed into X-V-Z axes, Second, the input face is mapped by deformable template using this vectors and 3D CANDIDE face model. Final. the mapped face is transformed to frontal face which appropriates for face recognition by the estimated pose vector. Through the experiments, we come to validate the application of face detection model and the method for estimating facial poses, Moreover, the tests show that recognition rate is greatly boosted through the normalization of the poses and expressions.

  • In this study, the critical frequency happened at system is analyzed when the motor of camera manufacturing system is working on the direction of Z axis. Configurations of modes at natural frequencies happened at two models are investigated by the study result through modal analysis. The range of natural frequency in this study system is from 100 Hz to 500 Hz. At this range, the maximum equivalent stress in case of 20 kg weight becomes 6.2335MPa and this stress is shown as 50 times more than in case of 10 kg weight. The working safety of system can be investigated through the analyses of natural frequency and harmonic response of this camera manufacturing system.

  • Today's Digital Environment made Typography to enter into a new phase. The Type which is a principal component of Typography is no exception to this aspect. However since the existing two-dimensional space has figurative potential, Visual Communication designers are still striving to explore both X axis and Y axis. In this context, Z axis which signifies 'Depth' is often recognized as an unfamiliar mathematical concept unrelated to Design Sensibility. If Z axis is used, the figurative aspect can be acquired, which was hard to be realized in the flat space, because the additional space of depth allows the expansion of omni-directional expression of target. Most notable is the fact that Z axis provided by Digital Environment has actually long existed and is inseparable from Type. This study, therefore, focuses on the three-dimensional expression of Type in the Visual Communication Design area by taking into account the above characteristics.

  • In this paper, We suggest a method, which extract the 3-Dimension location coordinate of object, stat and coil, using Laser sensor. In order to extract the 3-Dimension location coordinate of object, First, we extract the edge of object. Second, extract the z-axis angle of Laser sensor. Third, extract the 2-Dimension location coordinate of object using edge of object and z-axis of Laser senor. Fourth, discriminate between Slat and Coil. The result of study is expected that the help which is considerable to the automation system development of unmanned transportation equipment will become.

  • In this paper, we designed and made the scanned point detecting system for 3-dimensional measurement of the light emitted from plasma display panel (PDP) , and we measured and analyzed 3-dimensional light emitted from a real PDP by using this scanned point detecting system. The scanned point detecting system has a point detector with a pinhole. The light emitted from the source at the in-focus position can pass through the pinhole and be collected by detector. The light from other sources at outof-focus positions is focused at points in front of or behind the pinhole, and thus it is intercepted by the pinhole. Therefore, we can detect light information from a particular point of a PDP cell of 3-dimensional structure. We know the electric field distribution inside the PDP cell from the 3-dimensionallight intensity distribution measured by using the scanned point detecting system. As the Z axial measurement increases, the intensity of light detected increases and intensity of light detected on the inside edge of the ITa electrode is larger than outside edge of the ITa eletrode and gap of the ITa electrodes. Also, as the measurement point moves from one barrier rib to another, the detected light is weaker near to the barrier ribs than at the center between the barrier ribs. The emitted light is concentrated at the center between barrier ribs. ribs.

  • Aplications of the real-time kinematic GPS surveying and inertial measurement unit have been beingRTK GPS allows the use of a static base station and remote rover unit to allow for data collectionwithin several seconds and in real time. It is useful for monitoring the behaviors of massive structureslike bridges. And this study purposed to implement a method of deciding the acurate dynaimc attitudeof structures by IMU. In this study, among GPS methods, we used RTK GPS to analyze the precisionof monitoring and then on the basis of it, we developed a monitoring system using RTK GPS anda deviation betwen observation values, X axis was 1mm, Y axis was 1mm and Z axis 2.2mm. I tturned out that it was possible to monitor and measure structures by RTK GPS and IMU.

  • This is a methodological study to develop standards for human body coordinate clinical terminology system. The Standard was developed through four stages: Stage 1 - research plan was developed through literature review and data collection. Stage 2 - preliminary standard was created. Stage 3 - the standard was revised in accordance with the consultation of experts through seminars. Stage 4 - Final version of the standard was presented after verification of the content level. 2D human body images are expressed as x, y axes, and 3D images are expressed as x, y, z axes. Concepts and definitions of coordinates were preassembled into FSN, synonyms and preferred names of SNOMED CT. The latter combination was defined through 18 relationships. The average index was 4.01 for the content validity of the developed relationship standard. This research suggests that subsequent standards should be developed for other parts of the human body such as the brain, organs, and tissues. Also, it suggests that methodological research should be continued to increase the utilization of the standard in clinical practice.
