  • Yunnan(云南) province is located in southwest of China in which has four seasons and many historical remains. Twenty-six minor ethnics live in the Yunnan province which is known as a living folk museum. This is because they have preserved and developed their folk costume, artcraft, music and dance in their peculiar way with natural/cultural surroundings.(omitted)

TIGHT TOUGHNESS CONDITION FOR FRACTIONAL (g, f, n)-CRITICAL GRAPHS

  • A graph G is called a fractional (g, f, n)-critical graph if any n vertices are removed from G, then the resulting graph admits a fractional (g, f)-factor. In this paper, we determine the new toughness condition for fractional (g, f, n)-critical graphs. It is proved that G is fractional (g, f, n)-critical if $t(G){\geq}\frac{b^2-1+bn}{a}$. This bound is sharp in some sense. Furthermore, the best toughness condition for fractional (a, b, n)-critical graphs is given.

  • Decision-making in the crisis management happens in dynamic, rapidly changing, and often unpredictable distributed environments. Crisis management Decision Support Systems (DSSs) in E-Government are challenged by the need to use it availably at anytime, from anywhere, and even under any-situation. In this paper the reasons of developing distributed architecture for crisis management Decision Support Systems (DSSs) in E-Government are analyzed. Consequently, a distributed architecture for crisis management Decision Support System (DSS) is proposed in this paper. Finally it is implemented by Web Services. If crisis management Decision Support System (DSS) based on distributed architecture is implemented by Web Service, then it can provide decision support for decision-makers to deal with crisis at anytime, from anywhere, and even under any-situation.

MICROTHERMAL INSTRUMENT FOR MEASURING SURFACE LAYER SEEING

  • Microthermal fluctuations are introduced by atmospheric turbulence very near the ground. In order to detect microthermal fluctuations at Fuxian Solar Observatory (FSO), a microthermal instrument has been developed. The microthermal instrument consists of a microthermal sensor, which is based on a Wheatstone bridge circuit and uses fine tungsten filaments as resistance temperature detectors, an associated signal processing unit, and a data collection, & communication subsystem. In this paper, after a brief introduction to surface layer seeing, we discuss the instrumentation behind the microthermal detector we have developed and then present the results obtained. The results of the evaluation indicate that the effect of the turbulent surface boundary layer to astronomical seeing would become sufficiently small when installing a telescope at a height of 16m or higher from the ground at FSO.

  • Close binary stars are so close that one component has an effect on the evolution of the other. But how do they form and evolve? This is an unsolved problem. One speculation is that the binary is a part of a hierarchical triple and its orbit shrinks due to interaction with the third component. Therefore, searching for and investigating tertiary components, especially close-in ones, in close binary stars are important for understanding their origin, as well as to test theories of star formation and stellar dynamical interaction.

  • The information matter-element system was built to assess safety of water source. Based on the thought of multiindex fusion, fuzzy matter-element model evaluating water source behavior was constructed by matter-element transform. This model can process comprehensively hydrogeological data, ecological environment, water pollution, surface disturbance, and so on. Water source safety behavior can be described by the qualitative and quantitative manners. According to the development trend of quantitative results, water source safety behavior can be expressed dynamically. As an example, the proposed method was used to assess safety status of 7 water sources in the region. The numerical example shows that the proposed method is feasible and effective, and the evaluation results are reasonable.

Assembly and Function of Seed Endophytes in Response to Environmental Stress

  • Seeds are colonized by diverse microorganisms that can improve the growth and stress resistance of host plants. Although understanding the mechanisms of plant endophyte-host plant interactions is increasing, much of this knowledge does not come from seed endophytes, particularly under environmental stress that the plant host grows to face, including biotic (e.g., pathogens, herbivores and insects) and abiotic factors (e.g., drought, heavy metals and salt). In this article, we first provided a framework for the assembly and function of seed endophytes and discussed the sources and assembly process of seed endophytes. Following that, we reviewed the impact of environmental factors on the assembly of seed endophytes. Lastly, we explored recent advances in the growth promotion and stress resistance enhancement of plants, functioning by seed endophytes under various biotic and abiotic stressors.

Moderating Effects and Maintenance of Lung Cancer Cellular Immune Functions by CIK Cell Therapy

  • Aims: To study the CIK cell treatment effects on regulation of cellular immune function disorders in patients with lung cancer, and to analyze the time characteristics. Methods: Cellular immune function was assessed by FCM, and patients with functional disorders were randomly divided into two groups, one given CIK cell therapy within 18 months (5 courses) and the other the controls, which were followed up for 1 year with cellular immune functions tested once a month. Results: There were 5 types of cellular immunity, 4 of which are disorders; after CIK treatment, the improvement rate of the 4 groups were 79.1%, 70.8%, 76.0% and 70.0%, intergroup differences not being statistically significant (P=0.675), all significantly higher than in the control group (P=0.000). The median maintenance times for the 4 groups were 10.4 months (9.76-11.04), 8.4 months (7.86-8.94), 9.8 months (9.20-10.4) and 7.9 months (6.25-9.55), respectively. Conclusions: CIK cells were able to improve the immune functions of patients with lung cancer, the rate of improvement and maintenance time being related to the immune function before the treatment and CIK-cell-therapy courses.
