반복하중을 받는 구리 나노 와이어의 기계적 거동 (Mechanical Behavior of Cu Nanowire under Cyclic Loading)

  • Molecular dynamics (MD) simulations are used to analyze behavior of copper nanowires under cyclic loading. The embedded atom method (EAM) potential is employed to represent atomic interaction. Cyclic load is applied in two ways (Forward Tension / Reverse Compression and Forward Compression / Reverse Tension). The results show that dislocations are piled up as a result of plastic deformation during alternate tensile and compressive loading. After cyclic loading with a change of direction, yield stress decreases in consequence of the effect by the dislocation pileups. On the other hand, under FC/RT cyclic load, phase transformation represent associated with mechanical twinning. And copper nanowire can return to almost former undeformed condition during tensile loading at 300K.

나노 인덴테이션의 하중-변위 곡선을 이용한 용융아연도금 강판 코팅층의 기계적 특성 결정 (Determination of the Mechanical Properties of the Coated Layer in the Sheet Metal Using Load-Displacement Curve by Nanoindentation Technique)

  • Mechanical properties such as Young's modulus and hardness of thin film in coated steel are difficult to determine by nano-indentation from the conventional analysis using the load-displacement curve. Therefore, an analysis of the nano-indentation loading-unloading curve was used to determine the Young's modulus, hardness. A new method is recently being developed for elastic-plastic properties of materials from nano-indentation. Elastic modulus of the thin films shows relatively small influence whereas yield strength is found to have significant effect on measured data. The load-displacement curves of material tested with a Berkovich indenter and nano-indentation continuous stiffness method is used to measure the modulus and hardness through thin films, and then these are computed using the analysis procedure. The developed neural networks apply also to obtain reliable mechanical properties.

성목기 '감홍'/M.9 사과나무의 착과수준이 고두증상 및 과실품질에 미치는 영향 (Influence of Crop Load on Bitter pit incidence and Fruit Quality of 'Gamhong'/M.9 Adult Apple Trees)

  • BACKGROUND: The 'Gamhong' cultivar, middle season apple with big fruit size and high soluble solid content, has been bred in Korea. However, it was hard to cultivate the cultivar in Korea by serious bitter pit. The relationships between shoot growth, fruit size, and bitter pit may be affected by crop load. This study was conducted for 2 years (7~8 years after planting) to investigate vegetative growth, fruit quality, bitter pit incidence, return bloom, and gross income for optimum crop load of 'Gamhong'/M.9 adult apple tree. METHODS AND RESULTS: The crop load was assigned to 4 different object ranges as follow: 45~64, 65~84, 85~104, and 105~124 fruits per tree. The vegetative growth, average fruit weight, percentage of fruits heavier than 375 g, soluble solid content, and return bloom increased significantly at the crop load range of 45~64 fruits. However, the lowest total gross income per tree may have been caused by the highest bitter pit incidence and the lowest yield per tree in any other crop load range. The total gross income and yield per tree increased significantly at the crop load range of 105~124 fruits and return bloom dropped to 40%, and hence it was possible to occur biennial bearing. It was 85~104 fruits that biennial bearing did not occur and total gross income was as high as the crop load range of 105~124 fruits. Also, the yield of high grade fruits per tree, with fruit weight of 400~499 g and none bitter pit on fruit surface, was highest at the crop load range of 85~104 fruits, compared to other crop load range. CONCLUSION: In considering fruit size, bitter pit incidence, return bloom, and gross income, the optimum crop load range of 'Gamhong'/M.9 adult apple tree in high density orchard was 85~104 fruits per tree.

말뚝 기초지지력에 대한 안전율과 신뢰도지수 평가 (Relations of Safety Factor and Reliability for Pile Load Capacity)

  • 최근 신뢰성 이론에 바탕을 둔 한계상태설계법(Limit State Design)이 국제적으로 도입되고있는 추세이다. 이에 본 연구에서는 사질토 지반에 근입된 항타 및 현장타설 말뚝의 지지력 산정법에 대한 신뢰도지수와 안전율과의 관계를 규명하고자 하였다. 본 연구는 말뚝 직경의 10% 침하 시 지지력을 결정하는 방법(0.1B), Chin의 방법, De Beer의 방법과 Davisson의 방법에 대한 말뚝 지지력 산정결과를 비교 분석하였고, 말뚝의 지지력 산정 시 유용하게 활용되는 CPT결과를 통한 말뚝의 지지력 산정법 중에서 LCPC법에 의한 지지력과의 비교를 통해 FOSM법을 바탕으로 각 산정 법에 대한 신뢰도를 평가하였다 각 말뚝지지력 해석 방법에 따른 안전율과 신뢰도지수 관계 분석결과, 극한지지력을 규정하는 0.1B와 Chin의 방법에 대한 신뢰도지수가 De Beer와 Davisson에 의한 신뢰도지수보다 높은 것으로 나타났으며, 목표신뢰도지수 $2.0{\sim}2.5$를 기준으로 하여 항타 말뚝에서의 안전율 2는 방법에 따라 다소 증대될 필요가 있고, 현장 타설 말뚝에서는 극한 지지력 확인시 안전율 3보다 작게 적용할 수 있는 여지가 있음을 확인하였다.

낙엽송 집성재의 Bolt, Drift Pin 접합부의 전단강도 성능 평가 - 접합구 직경, 세장비, 끝면거리가 강도에 미치는 영향 - (Shearing Strength Properties of Bolted, Drift-Pinned Joints of the Larix Glulam - Effects of Fastener Diameter, Slenderness and End-distance on Strength Properties -)

  • 국내산 낙엽송 집성재 볼트, 드리프트 핀 접합부의 내력성능평가를 위해 인장형 전단강도시험을 실시하였다. 인장형 전단시편은 강판삽입형 볼트, 드리프트 핀 접합부 시편과 강판측재형 볼트접합부시편으로 제작하였다. 실험에 사용된 볼트와 드리프트 핀의 직경은 12, 16, 20 mm였다. 시편의 접합구멍은 끝면거리 5, 7 d로 제작하였고 인장하중은 섬유평행방향으로 가하였다. 끝면거리에 따른 접합부의 내력성능을 검토하고 Larsen의 항복추정식을 통해 항복하중을 실측항복하중과 비교하였다. 설계표준 시 끝면거리 7 d의 항복하중을 기준으로 5 d의 저감계수를 산출하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 1. 강판삽입형 접합부에서 드리프트 핀 접합부의 평균최대하중은 직경이 증가함에 따라 볼트 접합부보다 3~30% 정도 크게 나타났다. 볼트 접합부의 경우 강판측재형의 평균최대하중은 강판삽입형보다 1.54~2.07배 크게 나타났다. 동일 직경에서 끝면거리 7 d의 평균최대하중이 5 d보다 8~44% 정도 크게 나타났다. 2. 강판삽입형 접합부의 지압응력은 드리프트 핀 접합부가 볼트보다 1.16~1.41배 더 크게 나타났으며, 7 d가 5 d보다 1.37~1.86배 크게 나타났다. 또한 드리프트 핀 접합부의 세장비는 7.5 이하, 강판삽입형 볼트 접합부의 세장비는 6 이하에서 양호한 내력성능을 보였다. 3. 실측 항복하중과 Larsen이 제안한 항복하중 추정식에 의해 얻어진 항복하중값의 비는 강판삽입형 접합부의 경우 0.80~1.10, 강판측재형 접합부는 0.75~1.46이었다. 4. 끝면거리 7 d의 항복하중을 기준으로 강판삽입형 볼트접합부의 경우 12 mm 접합부의 저감계수(Ke)는 0.89, 16 mm는 0.93, 20 mm는 0.85였다. 강판삽입형 드리프트 핀 접합부의 경우 12 mm는 0.89, 16 mm는 0.93, 20 mm는 0.93이었다. 강판측재형 직경 12 mm 볼트접합부의 저감계수는 0.79, 16 mm는 0.80이었다.

A finite element yield line model for the analysis of reinforced concrete plates

  • This paper concerns the development and implementation of an orthotropic, stress resultant elasto-plastic finite element model for the collapse load analysis of reinforced concrete plates. The model implements yield line plasticity theory for reinforced concrete. The behaviour of the yield functions are studied, and modifications introduced to ensure a robust finite element model of cases involving bending and twisting stress resultants ($M_x$, $M_y$, $M_{xy}$). Onset of plasticity is always governed by the general yield-line-model (YLM), but in some cases a switch to the stress resultant form of the von Mises function is used to ensure the proper evolution of plastic strains. Case studies are presented, involving isotropic and orthotropic plates, to assess the behaviour of the yield line approach. The YLM function is shown to perform extremely well, in predicting both the collapse loads and failure mechanisms.

Automated yield-line analysis of beam-slab systems

  • The rigid-plastic yield-line analysis of isotropically reinforced concrete slabs acting in conjunction with torsionally weak supporting beams is developed as the lower-bound form of a linear programming formulation. The analysis is extended to consider geometric variation of chosen yield-line patterns by the technique of sequential linear programming. A strategy is followed of using a fine potential yield-line mesh to identify possible collapse modes, followed by analysis using a coarser, simplified mesh to refine the investigation and for use in conjunction with geometric optimization of the yield-line system. The method is shown to be effective for the analysis of three slabs of varying complexity. The modes detected by the fine and simplified analyses are not always similar but close agreement in load factors has been consistently obtained.

도시유역에 대한 토사유출량 모의기법 적용성 검토 (Application of Sediment Yield Estimation Methods for an Urbanized Basin)

  • 국내 도시화 시험유역에 대한 기존 토사유출공식의 적용 가능성을 검토하기 위해 도시 시험유역의 실측자료와 모의기법 적용결과를 비교.분석하였다. 적용된 토사유출량 산정 모의공식으로는 개정범용토양손실공식(RUSLE - Revised Universal Soil Loss Equation), 수정범용토양손실공식(MUSLE - Modified Universal Soil Loss Equation)을 활용하였다. 시험유역은 유역면적 약 3.81 $km^2$로 면적대비 56 % 정도가 도로 및 포장 등으로 도시화가 진행된 도시 시험유역을 선정하여 자동 강우 및 수위계측기를 이용하여 지난 3년간 연속적으로 수문자료를 축적하였다. 또한 계측지점에서의 유출량별 소류사 및 부유사 실측을 통하여 유량-유사량 관계곡선을 개발한 후 호우사상별 유역으로 부터의 토사유출량을 산정하였다. 실측된 강우 및 유량 자료를 활용하여 모의한 토사유출량과 실측한 토사유출량을 비교한 결과 RUSLE를 적용한 모의결과가 실측 토사유출량과 근접한 결과를 제시하였으나 상관계수가 낮아 적용에 세심한 주의가 요구됨을 알 수 있었다. 반면, 실제 유출수문곡선을 MUSLE기법에 적용하여 모의한 토사유출량과 실측 토사유출량의 상관관계는 우수한 예측결과를 보였으나 보정계수의 적용이 필요함을 확인하였다.

The effect of water status on productive and flowering variables in young 'Arbequina' olive trees under limited irrigation water availability in a semiarid region of Chile

  • The intense drought affecting olive production in Northern Chile underscores the need to research non-traditional irrigation strategies to obtain the best crop performance. Accordingly, this study aimed to obtain preliminary data to guide future research on this topic. Different water replenishment levels on crop evapotranspiration ($ET_c$ ; 13.5, 27.0, 40.5, and 54%) were established in a young orchard, cv. Arbequina, from the end of fruit drop (EFD) to full bloom in the next season. We evaluated the influence of plant water status (${\Psi}_{stem}$ ) and crop load, considered as function of fruit number divided by trunk cross-sectional area, on reproductive and productive variables using multiple linear regressions. Our results show that crop load and ${\Psi}_{stem}$ measured from EFD to harvest affected yield components. Nevertheless, ${\Psi}_{stem}$ had the strongest influence on fruit size, pulp development, oil accumulation, and yield. Oil content and yield were reduced by 54% and 50% for each MPa, respectively, from ${\Psi}_{stem\;EFD-H}$ -1.8 MPa, an effect that intensified as crop load increased. During the period of flower development (September-November), the number of flowers per inflorescence and percentage of perfect flowers were reduced when ${\Psi}_{stem}$ was less than -2.0 MPa. These preliminary results showed that bud differentiation, inflorescence and flower formation are highly sensitive to water deficit.

음향방출법에 의한 SM45C 응력시효 처리재의 인장특성 평가 (An Evaluation of Tensile Characteristics of the Stress Aging Heat-treated SM45C Steel by Acoustic Emissions)

  • This paper investigates tensile characteristics of the stress aging heat-treated SM45C steel which are aging temperature at $250^{\circ}C$, $300^{\circ}C$, aging time at 1, 3 hours, and applied load at 300, 400N conditions by using acoustic emission. Most suitable aging condition was aging temperature $300^{\circ}C$, aging time 1 hour, and aging applied load 300N. And increased yield load 28.3% than non-treatment specimen in this condition. AE energy in elastic limit increased about 16.7 times than non-treatment specimen. When aging time is 3 hours, yield load decreased than other conditions that possibility is high to have itself defect on inside the specimen or coarse grain size precipitation is different in happened over-aging phenomenon. Especially, in case of $300^{\circ}C$, 3 hours and 400N condition appeared AE energy in elastic limit fairly high about 30 times than non-treatment specimen. This is considered by emit a lot of energies when material causes plastic deformation because the ductility increases on specimen by over-aging phenomenon.
