Background : Atopic Dermatitis is thought to be a common and chronic relapsing inflammatory skin disease that probably results from allergic reaction. Because it make some serious problems in children, it is needed to treat and at least subside symptoms. Objective : The aim of this study was to evaluate the efficacy of GamiYeoldahansotang(加味熱多寒少湯) for treating Atopic Dermatitis and survey the general characteristics in children with Atopic Dermatitis. Method : Atopic Dermatitis with typical clinical symptoms were included in this study. Forty two patients were treated with hot water extract of GamiYeoldahansotang(加味熱多寒少湯) for four weeks. Clinical evaluation were made by Jacob T scoring system before and after treatment. Total Serum IgE, Eosinophil count were also conducted. Results : Reduction in body surface area was not observed. But significant reductions of severity scores before and after adminstration of GamiYeoldahansotang(加味熱多寒少湯) were observed in all of three groups: mind, moderate, severe. specially severe intensity group was very statistically significant.(p<0.05) Conclusion : We speculate that GamiYeoldahansotang(加味熱多寒少湯) has some therapeutic effects in mitigating the symptoms of Atopic Dermatitis.

■ Objectives The purpose of this study is to report on a case that showed improvement in type 2 diabetic patients by using herbal medicine, Yeoldahansotang-gami. ■ Methods Yeoldahansotang-gami was given to patients with type 2 diabetes for 71days. To evaluate the effect, blood glucose was measured 4 times a day. As measured blood sugar, the frequency of hyperglycemia, changes in fasting blood sugar, changes in postprandial blood sugar, and changes in glucose variability were analyzed. The patient's insulin injection dose change was observed, and HbA1c and glycated albumin were measured. Follow-up was performed for 7 months to observe whether the treatment effect was maintained. ■ Results During treatment, the patient's blood sugar control, glucose variability, and HbA1c were improved, and insulin injection dose was gradually reduced and stopped. HbA1c and glycated albumin levels maintained improvement without insulin injection during the follow-up period. ■ Conclusion This study showed the effect of yeoldahansotang-gami on type 2 diabetes patient.

1. Objective This case study reports a Taeeumin patient experiencing hand tremor, heat flash, and mild dysarthria who improved with Yeoldahansotang medication. 2. Method The patient's subjective and objective symptoms were observed daily, and the VAS scores for the main symptoms (hand tremor, heat flash, and mild dysarthria) were recorded daily throughout hospitalization period. 3. Result The patient's general conditions improved by the end of hospitalization, and VAS score dropped dramatically from VAS 10, VAS 10, VAS 10 to VAS 0, VAS 0.5, VAS 3 for hand tremor, heat flash, and mild dysarthria, respectively. 4. Conclusion The patient responded well to Yeoldahansotang, one of the main medicaments for the Joyeol (dry-heat) symptomatic pattern, which indicates that Yeoldahansotang can be used to treat the Joyeol symptomatic pattern even when the textbook indications are not evident as long as the Joyeol pathology is recognizable from other symptoms.

Objective The case report showed that sudden hearing loss and tinnitus after trigeminal schwannoma surgery were improved with Yeoldahansotang-gamibang. Method The patient was diagnosed with Taeeumin interior heat (Ganyeol) disease based on the original symptoms of Taeeumin. He was treated with herbal medicine and acupuncture treatment. Puretone audiometry (PTA), speech audiometry, tinnitus handicap inventory (THI) and the original symptoms were investigated before and after the treatment. Results Right side PTA score was significantly reduced, speech audiometry was improved in speech reception threshold (SRT), word recognition score (WRS) and most comfortable level (MCL) and THI score decreased from 40 to 0, which showed normalizing hearing function. And the patient revealed improvements in sleeping, digestion, stooling, perspiration and facial sensation after treatment. Conclusion This study suggests that Yeoldahansotang-gamibang is effective on sudden hearing loss and tinnitus after surgery by correcting the imbalanced energy of Taeeumin.

1. Objectives: This case study reports a Taeumin patient with Gastro-esophageal reflux disease who had suffered from chest pain, heartburn, acid regurgitation and dyspepsia who improved after Yeoldahanso-tang(Reduohanshao-tang) medication. 2. Methods: This patient had started treatment with Yeoldahanso-tang(Reduohanshao-tang), three times per day for three months and assessed the changes of the main symptoms such as chest pain, heartburn and acid regurgitation from baseline to post-treatment using a questionnaire with visual analogue scale(VAS). Electrogastrography(EGG) was also performed for assessment of gastric function from baseline to post-treatment. 3. Results: After the treatment, symptoms of GERD such as chest pain, heartburn, and acid regurgitation are almost disappeared. The patient don't need to take the proton pump inhibitor therapy. There was significant increase of % bradygastria parameters in fed EEG after treatment with Yeoldahansotang(Reduohanshao-tang). And significant increase of the power ratio after treatment was shown (20.5), compared with initial EGG(0.0). 4. Conclusions: This results show Yeoldahanso-tang(Reduohanshao-tang) can be used to treat GERD with Dry-heat symptom of Taeumin. This results suggest that Sasang Constitutional treatment for GERD patients who has a chronic condition with highly recurrence rate, might be a candidate for a therapeutic agent. Also effects of Yeoldahanso-tang(Reduohanshaotang) on GERD need further studies such as clinical trials.

본인은 소양인 환자의 태음인 오치 2증례를 통해 소양인에게 태음인처방(열다한소탕과 같은 하제의 성격)을 주었을 때 어떤 결과가 나오는지 살펴보게 되었다. 이러한 경우에 대해 비슷한 임상적 예와 이론을 상한론의 조문에서 또한 찾아볼 수 있었다. 이를 통해 소양인에게 열다한소탕과 같은 성격의 태음인 처방을 주었을 때 소양인리병 흉격열증이나 소양인 표병 결흉증과 같은 양상이 나올 것이라는 가정을 가질 수 있었다.

Objectives The aim of this study is to report the improvement in Taeeumin's dryness-heat symptom of a 54-year-old man diagnosed with type-II diabetes mellitus after treated by herbal medicine. Methods The Taeeumin patient took Yuldahansotang-gamibang for 9 months to manage Taeeumin's dryness-heat symptom. We examined the changes of Body Mass Index(BMI), Fating Blood Sugar(FBS), Hemoglobin A1c(HbA1c), and ketouria. Results Type-II diabetes mellitus symptoms in the patient with Taeeumin's dryness-heat symptom were thirst, fatigue, and increased body weight. All numerical levels for blood sugar, HbA1c, and ketouria were reduced after taking Yuldahansotang-gamibang. Conclusions The treatment of the patient with Taeeumin's dryness-heat symptom and type-II diabetes mellitus with Yuldahansotang-gamibang was efficient, and further research is needed to prove the effect of Yuldahansotang-gamibang for treating such patients.

Objectives It is important to decide if the patient is belong to cold syndrome or heat syndrome in Sasang Constitutional Medicine. The purpose of this study is to report some proof to determine cold and heat syndrome and characteristic of the patient who can be treated with Cheongsimyeonja-tang. Methods To evaluate the results of this treatment, muscular symptom was assessed by Visual Analogue Scale(VAS). The patient's general condition such as urinary and fecal discomfort is assessed by the progress notes. Results The patient did not improved when she was treated with Choweseuncheung-tang. But when she was treated with Cheongsimyeonja-tang, she got improved with not only her main problem such as muscular symptom, but also general condition such as indigestion, urinary & fecal discomfort and menopausal symptom. Conclusion This study suggests that number of defecation per day also can be the clue to decide heat or cold syndrome not only appearance of defecation. And the patients who can be treated by Cheongsimyeonja-tang is different from the patients who can be treated by Yeoldahansotang in the color of their face, personality and edema.
