  • How stereo selectivity in singlet and triplet photocycloaddition and photocyclization reactions, respectively, is linked to spin selectivity and how this link affects our understanding of photochemical reaction mechanisms, is described in this review. As illustrative examples, the Paterno-Buchi reaction and the Norrish-Yang cyclization are described with emphasis on triplet biradical structure and dynamics.

  • The Haeng Chym(行鍼) which is the sixty seventh chapter of the Young Chu(靈樞), predominantly explicates the six kinds of needling reactions. The principle ideas of this thesis can be summarized as following, the Haeng Chym is divided into three parts in this thesis. 1st part: It shows that the six kinds of reactions occur from the excess and deficiency of yin-yang(陰陽) which is due to each different constitution(體質) in the acupuncture. 2nd part: It explains the excessive visceral-qi(臟氣) which is due to congenital constitution and the needling reaction which appears among the man of overabundant yang(重陽之人). It shows needling reaction of the man who has a little yin among the man of overabundant yang. 3rd part: It explains the quick and slow of the reaction whim occurred in the acupuncture, the presence of reaction by the times of acupuncture, abnormal rising of qi, bad needling reaction in the acupuncture and the side effect by frequent acupuncture.

  • The purpose of this study was to observe the effects of the polysaccharide(G009) obtained from liquid cultured Ganoderma lucidum IY009 on the lipidperoxidation in rat liver microsome. It is well known that the polysaccharide of G. lucidum have the hepatoprotective activity, antitumor activity etc., which was thought to have the relationship to anti-lipidperoxidation. In order to the estimate the effects of anti-lipidperoxidation of the polysaccharide obtained from G. lucidum IY009, enzymatic and nonenzymatic reaction were performed, in vitro, in rat liver microsome. In enzymatic lipid peroxidation reaction by ADP/FeCl$_3$/NADPH and $CCl_4$/NADPH, G009(1mg/ml) inhibited 77.4%, 39.4%, respectively, and the nonenzymatic reaction strongly exhibited 97.4% inhibition. And also, in enzymatic and nonenzymatic inducers treated with G009, the formation of MDA was progressively greater decreased by raising G009 concentration. These results suggest that anti-lipidperoxidation by G009 treatment may be play an important part in liver protection action.

  • This research was examined the effect of Backward Walk on ground reaction force and we achieved it by using ground reaction force machine during the Backward Walk activity with Latin and Rumba dance. We find that it was significant difference of vertical(Fz) ground reaction force of right foot in touchdown and toe-off and vertical(Fz), horizontal(Fx), front-rear(Fy) ground reaction force of left foot. There was not significant differences in vertical ground reaction force between superior athlete and unskilled athlete, but there was a significant difference in left foot. Through this, we know that the sports capability of left foot which has been developed through the training is better in superior athlete group. Therefore understanding of difference in ground reaction force and repeated training can help the unskilled athlete and beginner to accomplish the accurate movement.

  • Rates of the reaction for p-nitrobenzyl chloride, benzyl chloride and p-methylbenzyl chloride with pyridine in DMF solvent have been measured by an electric conductivity method at $40^{\circ}\;and\;50^{\circ}C$ under various pressures. From those rate constants, the activation parameters ${\Delta}V^{\neq},\;{\Delta}{\beta}^{\neq},\;{\Delta}H^{\neq},\;{\Delta}S^{\neq},\;{\Delta}G^{\neq}$) were evaluated. ${\Delta}V^{\neq}\;and\;{\Delta}{\beta}^{\neq}$ are both negative valued, but ${\Delta}H^{\neq}$ is positive and ${\Delta}S^{\neq}$ is large negative value. From the evaluation of the initial state and transition state which was resulted from substituents and pressure, it was found that this reaction proceeds through bimolecular reaction.

  • This article briefly reviews the results of recently reported research on high-temperature Pb-free solder alloys and the research trend for characterization of the interfacial reaction layer. To improve the product reliability of high-temperature Pb-free solder alloys, thorough research is necessary not only to enhance the alloy properties but also to characterize and understand the interfacial reaction occurring during and after the bonding process. Transmission electron microscopy analysis is expected to play an important role in the development of high-temperature solders by providing accurate and reliable data with a high spatial resolution and facilitating understanding of the interfacial reaction at the solder joint.

  • A novel O-diethylaminoethyl chitosan (DEAE-chitosan) was synthesized via Schiff's reaction between chitosan and benzaldehyde. $C_2$ amino group was protected via Schiffs base reaction with benzaldehyde to form N-benzylidene chitosan. After reaction with diethylaminoethyl chloride, Schiffs base was removed by reacting O-diethylaminothyl-N-benzylidene chitosan and hydrochloric acid. Tensile strength of DEAE-chitosan was improved due to the incorporation of bulky side group in $C_6$ position of chitosan. DEAE-chitosan showed a pH-dependent swelling characteristics. Release rate of riboflavin was dependent on the water content of DEAE-chitosan that is a function of crosslinking degrees.
