Higher order structure of 5S rRNA isolated from Xanthomonas celebensis was examined using angiogenic extracted from milk. Angiogenin cleaved exclusively 3' P-O bonds on the far sides of pyrimidines in the single-stranded sequences of 5S rRNA. Whereas angiogenin acted only on the loop d of 5S rRNA at pH 7.0 in the presence of 10 mM $Mg^{2+}$, it acted on all the loops (a, b, c and d) except loop e in the absence of $Mg^{2+}$. In the absence of $Mg^{2+}$, bonds $U_{74}$-$G_{75}$, $U_{77}$-$A_{78}$ and $U_{103}$-$A_{104}$ were highly susceptible to the action of angiogenin both at pH 7.0 and at pH 3.5. On the other hand, at pH 3.5 in the absence of $Mg^{2+}$ angiogenin strongly cleaved the bond $C_{17}$-$G_{18}$ of loop a and the bond $U_{55}$-$G_{56}$ of loop b. The results lead us to the following conclusion. First, angiogenin can be used as one of the probes for the tertiary structure analysis of 5S rRNA. Second, the structure of loop d of 5S rRNA is variable depending on the concentrations of $Mg^{2+}$ and $H^{1+}$.
In this paper, we consider singular fourth-order two point boundary value problems $u^{(4)}$ (t) = f(t, u), 0 < t < 1, u(0) = u(l) = u'(0) = u'(l) = 0, where $f:(0,1){\times}(0,+{\infty}){\rightarrow}[0,+{\infty})$ may be singular at t = 0, 1 and u = 0. By using the upper and lower solution method, we obtained the existence of positive solutions to the above boundary value problems. An example is also given to illustrate the obtained theorems.

This paper presents the holistic notion and model of an open social u-learning community, anchored with open content, providing an interactive online study group experience akin to sitting with study buddies on a world-wide campus quad. The interactive social u-learning community design helps conceptualize and maximize advantages of ubiquitous environment in learning. The model is enabled by state-of-the-art web technologies; real-time collaboration technologies for a highly interactive experience; intelligent recommender systems to help learners connect with relevant content and other learners; and mining and analytics to assess learner outcomes. Hence, u-learning design is highly scalable yet interactive and engaging.
In order to evaluate the environmental impact of U anormaly in the drainage system around the Shinbo talc mine area, U contents, their distribution patterns, bioaccumulation and a-radioactivity in stream water, stream sediments and aquatic organisms were investigated. The U contents of stream water attenuated with increasing distance from the mine area. The same attenuation pattern is shown in stream sediments from mine to 0.75 km downstream, although these contain highly enriched U contents (24~83 mg/kg) comparing with the international average concentration of surface soils (0.79~11 mg/kg). However, U content increases abruptly in sediment at 1.5 km downstream, probably due to detrital migration and rediposition of U enriched sediments. Futhermore, enriched U in downstream sediments occur in high proportions of carbonate and Fe-Mn oxide bounded forms, which show high potential of a secondary pollution source. For aquatic organisms, bio accumulation degree of U are in the order: aquatic larvae>black snail>mountain frog>crawfish. Cultured trout by the U enrich groundwater (387 ${\mu}g$/l) shows U accumulation in the part of branchia (CRs 5.25) and bones (CRs 11.2) but not in flesh (CRs 0.03). Total a-radioactivity have been measured in the level as 0.47 nCi/l for groundwater, 2.94~18 nCi/kg${\cdot}$DW for organisms and 93~328 nCi/kg${\cdot}$DW for sediments.
Background: This study was conducted to determine the influence of MACC1 expression on chemotherapy sensitivity in human U251 glioblastoma cells. Materials and Methods: Expression of the MACC1 gene in 49 cases of human brain glioma was determined by quantitative real-time PCR. Silencing effects of RNA interference on MACC1 was detected by Western-blotting. Flow cytometry methods and methyl thiazolyl tetrazolium assay (MTT) were used to determine the apoptosis and growth inhibitory rates of the U251 cells with MACC1 silencing. before and after treatment with cisplatin (DDP). Results: MACC1 mRNA in gliomas was up-regulated remarkably, to 158.8% of that in peri-cancerous tissues (P<0.05). The siRNA-MACC1 could inhibit the expression of MACC1 protein significantly (p<0.05), associated with an increase in apoptosis rate from 2.57% to 5.39% in U251 cells and elevation of the growth inhibitory rate from 1.5% to 17.8% (p<0.05 for both). After treatment with DDP at various concentrations (1, 3, $5{\mu}g/ml$), compared with control U251 cells, the apoptosis rate of MACC1-silenced U251 cells rose from 8.41%, 13.2% and 19.5% to 12.8%, 17.8% and 25.8%; the growth inhibitory rate increased from 16.2%, 19.3% and 24.5% to 23.7%, 28.4% and 36.3%. Conclusions: There is a notable relationship between over-expression of MACC1 and the characteristics of glioma cells. Silencing of MACC1 was found to enhance the apoptosis and growth inhibitory rates of U251 glioma cells, and thereby increase their sensitivity to DDP chemotherapy.
Vitamin U (5-methylmethionine) levels of Chinese cabbages at $4^{\circ}C$ were investigated to establish its physiological characteristics and also amino acids and sugars levels to find out their relationship with vitamin U were determined The levels of vitamin U showed different from parts of Chinese cabbages. The highest value was shown in outward leaf in Wineter Pride (12.70 mg/100 g fresh wt.) and core leaf in 55 Days cultivars (18.60 mg/100 g fresh wt.). leaf pare were 1.7-9.0 times higher in vitamin U levels than those in midribs in both cultivars. levels of vitamin U in stored Chinese cabbages increased with storage time. Moreover, two cultivars used far this experiment showed different pattern during storage. In Winter Pride, vitamin U levels sharply increased in leaf and midrib of cote part during storage. This value reached about 2.5 times for leaf and 4 times for midrib compared to the levels of initial storage time in core part In 55 Days cultivars, outward leaf showed an increased level of vitamin U of 1.8 times compared to that of 1 month storage time. Methionine known as a precursor of vitamin U synthesis did not showed clear relationship with vitamin U levels. Methionine was either not detected or at negligibly low levels in Chinese cabbages during storage. Methionine may not play a role in an increase of vitamin U during storage of Chinese cabbages at $4^{\circ}C$. No clear relationship of free amino acids and soluble sugars for vitamin U accumulation during storage of Chinese cabbages was shown in this study.

In this paper, the high Gain and the wideband microstrip patch antenna, which is applicable to 5 GHz band wireless LAN, is designed and fabricated. Firstly to widen the bandwidth of microstrip antenna, U-Slot in rectangular form patch is inserted and used the microstrip line-Coaxial probe feeding method. Secondly, the antenna gain is improved to be embodied in $2{\times}2$ array form. As a result, in this paper, is designed and fabricated 5 GHz Band wideband U-Slot $2{\times}2$ array patch antenna using microstrip line-coaxial probe feeder. The U-Slot $2{\times}2$ array patch antenna were fabricated on the PEC using press-technique that is based on the simulation results. And the Anritsu 37169A vector network analyzer has been used in measurement of a prototype antenna. As a result, it was measured that the superior characteristic of wideband showing approximately 1 GHz ($5.110 GHz{\sim} 6.142 GHz$) of input return loss (VSWR < 2) in resonant frequency of 5 GHz band. And the antenna gain is 13 dBi, in both the E-plane and H-plane measured at 5.15 GHz, 5.35 GHz, 5.50 GHz, and 5.87 GHz.
Generalized Fibonacci and Lucas sequences ($U_n$) and ($V_n$) are defined by the recurrence relations $U_{n+1}=PU_n+QU_{n-1}$ and $V_{n+1}=PV_n+QV_{n-1}$, $n{\geq}1$, with initial conditions $U_0=0$, $U_1=1$ and $V_0=2$, $V_1=P$. This paper deals with Fibonacci and Lucas numbers of the form $U_n$(P, Q) and $V_n$(P, Q) with the special consideration that $P{\geq}3$ is odd and Q = -1. Under these consideration, we solve the equations $V_n=5kx^2$, $V_n=7kx^2$, $V_n=5kx^2{\pm}1$, and $V_n=7kx^2{\pm}1$ when $k{\mid}P$ with k > 1. Moreover, we solve the equations $V_n=5x^2{\pm}1$ and $V_n=7x^2{\pm}1$.
Interpenerating Polymer Networks (IPNs) are unique type of polymer blend, synthesized by swelling a crossed polymer (Epoxy) with second polymer (Silicon) and also we adopted Urethane as the second polymer. The relationship between dielectric and mechanical properties of high temperature curing IPNs(E/S, E/U) are investigated. The ratios of weight that we formed we re two kind of thing, one (E/S) about 1[wt%]. 3[wt%], 5[wt%], 7[wt%], 10[wt%], and the other (E/U) about 5[wt%], 15[wt%], 25[wt%]. It was heat-cured for 24hours at $100^{\circ}C$ 48 hours at $10^{\circ}C$, 5 hours at $130^{\circ}C$, 15hours at $130^{\circ}C$ in E/S and also for 5 hours at $130^{\circ}C$ in E/U. From the viewpoint of dielectric and mechanical properties, the optimum condition is obtained from the sample cured for 5hours at $130^{\circ}C$ for 1[wt%] in the E/S, and also obtained from the sample cure d for 5 hours at $130^{\circ}C$ in E/U.
The conditions for ${\beta}$-galactosidase production from alkalophilic, thermophilic Bacillus sp. TA-11 were investigated. The maximal enzyme production was obtained when the strain was cultured at $50^{\circ}C$ for 5 days with fed-batch culture in the optimal medium containing 1.5% lactose, 0.6% yeast extract 0.15% $K_2HP0_4$and initial pH 9.5, and then final enzyme activity under the above conditions was 5200 unit/ml of cell free extract.
