O3/H2O2와 O3/Catalyst 고급산화공정에서 1,4-dioxane의 제거 특성 (Removal Characteristics of 1,4-dioxane with O3/H2O2 and O3/Catalyst Advanced Oxidation Process)

  • Advanced oxidation processes involving $O_3/H_2O_2$ and $O_3/catalyst$ were used to compare the degradability and the effect of pH on the oxidation of 1,4-dioxane, Oxidation processes were carried out in a bubble column reactor under different pH. Initial hydrogen peroxide concentration was 3.52 mM in $O_3/H_2O_2$ process and 115 g/L (0.65 wt.%) of activated carbon impregnated with palladium was packed in $O_3/catalyst$ column. 1,4-dioxane concentration was reduced steadily with reaction time in $O_3/H_2O_2$ oxidation process, however, in case of $O_3/catalyst$ process, about $50{\sim}75%$ of 1,4-dioxane was degraded only in 5 minutes after reaction. Overall reaction efficiency of $O_3/catalyst$ was also higher than that of $O_3/H_2O_2$ process. TOC and $COD_{cr}$ were analyzed in order to examine the oxidation characteristics with $O_3/H_2O_2\;and\;O_3/catalyst$ process. The results of $COD_{cr}$ removal efficiency and ${\Delta}TOC/{\Delta}ThOC$ ratio in $O_3/catalyst$ process gave that this process could more proceed the oxidation reaction than $O_3/H_2O_2$ oxidation process. Therefore, it was considered that $O_3/catalyst$ advanced oxidation process could be used as a effective oxidation process for removing non-degradable toxic organic materials.

  • We have synthesized some phosphors in the system $CaO-Y_{2}O_3-Al_{2}O_{3}$ by combinatorial polymerized-complex method. Composition and synthetic temperature of phosphors in the liblary was screened from the emission intensities of individual samples under VUV excitation. In $Tb^{3+}$-activated $CaO-Y_{2}O_3-Al_{2}O_{3}$, green phosphors showing good intensity were found to be $CaYAl_{3}O_{7}$, $CaYalO_{4}$, $YAlO_{3}$, $Y_{3}Al_{5}O_{12}$, $Y_{4}Al_{2}O_{9}$, $Ca_{3}Al_{2}O6$.

질소산화물 제거를 위한 디스크형 바나디아 촉매담지 세라믹필터의 특성 (Characteristics of Disc-Type V2O5 Catalyst Impregnated Ceramic Filters for NOx Removal)

  • The performance of disk-type catalytic filters impregnated by TiO$_2$ or TiO$_2$-3Al$_2$O$_3$ㆍ 2SiO$_2$ supports and V$_2$O$_{5}$ catalyst was evaluated for selective catalytic reduction (SCR) of NO with ammonia as a reductant. XRD, FT -IR, BET and SEM were used to characterize the catalytic filters prepared in this work. Optimal V$_2$O$_{5}$ loading and reaction temperature for V$_2$O$_{5}$/TiO$_2$ catalytic filters were 3-6 wt.% and 350-40$0^{\circ}C$ at GHSV 14,300 $hr^{-1}$ in the presence of oxygen, respectively. With increasing the V$_2$O$_{5}$ loading from 0.5 to 6 wt%, NO conversion increased from 24 to 96% at 40$0^{\circ}C$ and 14.300$hr^{-1}$, and maintained at 80% over in the V$_2$O$_{5}$ loading range of 3-6 wt.% and then dropped at V$_2$O$_{5}$ loading of 7wt.% over. In comparing V$_2$O$_{5}$/ TiO$_2$ and V$_2$O$_{5}$/ TiO$_2$-3Al$_2$O$_3$ㆍ2SiO$_2$ catalytic fillers, which have same 3wt.% V$_2$O$_{5}$ loading, the V$_2$O$_{5}$/ TiO$_2$-3A1$_2$O$_3$ㆍ2SiO$_2$ catalytic filter showed higher activity than V$_2$O$_{5}$/ TiO$_2$ catalytic filter, but higher differential pressure drops owing to its low air permeability. low air permeability.

  • The surge current characteristics of ZnO-$Pr_6O_{11}$-CoO-$Cr_2O_3-Dy_2O_3$-based varistors were investigated with various $Dy_2O_3$ contents. The sintered density decreased in the range of $5.2{\sim}4.6g/cm^3$ with increasing $Dy_2O_3$ content. The incorporation of $Dy_2O_3$ markedly enhanced the nonlinear properties of varistors above 10 times in nonlinear exponent, compared with the varistor without $Dy_2O_3$. The varistor ceramics doped with 0.5 mol% $Dy_2O_3$ exhibited the highest electrical stability. However, the remainder varistors resulted in thermal runaway due to low density of varistor ceramics. The clamping voltage ratio exhibited a minimum value of 2.03 in 1.0 mol% $Dy_2O_3$ at surge current of 100 A(8/20 ${\mu}s$).

조대 Si입자분말을 사용한 질화반응 Si3N4의 치밀화 거동 (Densification Behavior of Reaction-Bonded Silicon Nitride Prepared by Using Coarse Si Powders)

  • 평균입경 25$\mu m$의 Si조대분말에 소결조제의 조성과 양을 변화시켜 질화반응 질화규소 (RBSN)세라믹스를 제조할 때 나타나는 치밀화 거동, 미세구조의 발달 및 기계적 특성에 대하여 고찰하였다. 6wt% $Y_2O_3$ + 1wt% $Al_2O_3$(6YlA)의 소결조제를 첨가한 경우에는 치밀화를 이루지 못하였으나, 6wt% $Y_2O_3+3\;wt%\;Al_2O_3+2\;wt%\;SiO_2(6Y3A2S)$와 9wt% $Y_2O_3$+1.5wt% $A1_2O_3$+ 3w% $SiO_2$(9Yl.5A3S)의 소결조제를 첨가하여 이론밀도에 가까운 치밀화를 이루었다. $1900^{\circ}C$에서 소결한 6Y3A2S시편의 경우, 960MPa의 높은 파괴강도값과 $6.5MPa.m^{1/2}$의 파괴인성값을 얻었다.

Study on Properties of Ag and PbO Doped $YBa_2Cu_3O_x$

  • A proposed way to prepare $YBa_2Cu_3O_y$ wires or tapes is that Ag is used as substrate and melting point of $YBa_2Cu_3O_y$ is decreased to lower than the melting point of silver ($961\;^{\circ}C$). Therefore after the deposition of $YBa_2Cu_3O_y$ film on Ag substrate, the heat treatment can be carried out below the Ag melting point. Silver (Ag) and Lead oxide(PbO) were selected to be additives for $YBa_2Cu_3O_y$. Different Ag and PbO contents were added in $YBa_2Cu_3O_y$, the melting points of which were measured by DTA. In order to guarantee that the superconductivity of $YBa_2Cu_3O_y$ was not reduced after Ag and PbO added into $YBa_2Cu_3O_y$, their superconductivities were measured. It is proved that as additives, both Ag and PbO can reduce the melting point of $YBa_2Cu_3O_y$. For Ag doped $YBa_2Cu_3O_y$, $T_c$ is about 93K and ${\Delta}Tc$ is $2{\sim}3K$. For PbO doped $YBa_2Cu_3O_y$, $T_c$ is $88K{\sim}92K$ and ${\Delta}T_c$ is $11{\sim}12K$. When 10 wt% of Ag and 10 wt% PbO were added in $YBa_2Cu_3O_y$, the melting point of the mixture of $YBa_2Cu_3O_y$ (80 wt%), Ag (10 wt%) and PbO (l0 wt%) is $943^{\circ}C$. The transition temperatures ($T_c$) of the sample is 91.8 K.

  • Mullite ($3Al_2O_3{\cdot}2SiO_2$) has emerged as a promising candidate for high-temperature structural materials due to its erosion resistance, chemical and thermal stabilities, relatively low thermal expansion coefficient, excellent thermal shock and creep resistances, and low dielectric constant. However, since the pure mullite sintering temperature is as high as $1,600{\sim}1,700^{\circ}C$, there is an increasing need for a sintering additive capable of improving the strength characteristics while lowering the sintering temperature. Herein we have tried to obtain the optimal sintering additive composition by adding MgO, $Cr_2O_3$, and $Y_2O_3$ to mullite, followed by sintering at $1,325{\sim}1,550^{\circ}C$ for 2 h. With additives of 2 wt% of MgO, 2 wt% of $Cr_2O_3$, 4 wt% of $Y_2O_3$, A density of $3.23g/cm^3$ was obtained for the sintered body at $1,350^{\circ}C$ upon using 2 wt% MgO, 2 wt% $Cr_2O_3$, and 4 wt% $Y_2O_3$ as additives. The three-point flexural strength of that was 275 MPa and the coefficient of thermal expansion (CTE) was $4.15ppm/^{\circ}C$.

  • 플라즈마 용사법(plasma spray method)으로 제작된 상용 가스 터빈 연소기의 finned segment의 열차폐용 코팅계, ZrO2-8wt%Y2O3 top coat/Ni-26Cr-5Al-0.5Y bond coat/Hastelloy X superalloy 기판에서 NiCrAlY bond coat의 산화 거동과 열피로 파괴에 대하여 조사하였다. 생성된 bond coat의 주산화물은 NiO, CrO2, Al2O3였다. ZrO2/bond coat계면에서 생성된 산화물의 분포는 고온에서의 사용 전에 이 계면 아래에 얇은 층의 Al2O3가없는 곳에서는 NiO 산화층 및에 Cr2O3와 Al2O3가 혼합된 형태를 나타내었다. 열피로에 의해 박리된 시편의 파면을 관찰한 결과, 파괴는 주로 ZrO2/산화층 계면보다 세라믹층내로 약간 치우쳐서 일어나지만, 산화층 내에서도 약간 일어남을 알 수 있었다.

  • 융제(flux)로서 $B_2O_3$의 농도를 0-10 wt%까지 변화시킨 $SrAl_2O_4$ : $Eu^{+2}$, $Dy^{+3}$계 장잔광 형광체를 고상반응법으로 합성한 후, $B_2O_3$의 첨가량에 따른 결정특성과 장잔광 축광재료로서 가장 중요한 발광 및 장잔광 특성을 조사하였다. $SrAl_2O_4$ : Eu$^{+2}$, $Dy^{+3}$계 형광체는 $B_2O_3$의 농도에 관계없이 520nm 파장을 최대 발광파장으로 하는 발광스펙트럼을 나타내었고, 3wt%의 $B_2O_3$ 농도에서 최대 발광강도를 나타내었다. 그리고 $SrAl_2O_4$ : Eu$^{+2}$, $Dy^{+3}$ 형광체의 잔광강도 역시 $B_2O_3$의 농도에 무관하게 시간에 따라 모든 시료에서 지수 함수적으로 감소하였으나, $B_2O_3$의 농도가 3wt%인 경우에 발광의 감쇠속도가 작은 뛰어난 장잔광특성을 나타내었다.

AE(Acoustic Emission)에 의한 세라믹 복합재료의 고인성화 기구 분석 (Analysis of Toughening Mechanism of Ceramic Composites by Acoustic Emission)

  • Al2O3/20 vol%YAG composite containing equiaxed grains and Al2O3/20 vol%LaAl11O18 composite containing elongated grains were fabricated using Al2O3-Y2O3 composition and Al2O3-La2O3 composition, respectively, by hot-pressing. In order to investigate the influence of microstructural control of second phase on toughening effect of toughened ceramic composites, AE (acoustic emission) measurements have been coupled with fracture toughness experiments(SENB and SEPB method). A separation of the fracture toughness and analysis of toughening mechanism was possible using the AE technique. The fracture toughness of hot-pressed materials was estimated to be 3.2 MPam0.5 for monolithic alumina, 4.7 MPam0.5 for Al2O3/20 vol%YAG composite and 6.2 MPam0.5 for Al2O3/20 vol%LaAl11O18 composite. In monolithic Al2O3, toughening does not occur as a result of either microcracking or grain bridging, whereas, composites exhibit toughening effects by both microcracking in the frontal zone and gain bridging in the wake zone, resulting in an improvement of fracture toughness as compared with monolithic Al2O3. The fracture toughness of Al2O3/20 vol%LaAl11O18 composite is higher than that of Al2O3/20 vol%YAG composite. It may be attributed to the elongated microstructure of Al2O3/20 vol%LaAl11O18 composite, resulting relatively greater bridging effect.
