With the spread of wireless internet, the interest in mobile applications and services is increasing. Korea Wireless Internet Standardization Forum has been establishing the standards for mobile platform and map service in the wireless internet environment. This study aims to present a paragon of mapping middleware that plays the role of broker for wireless internet map service: in particular, it focuses on the interoperability with generic map servers. In this study, we developed a method for applying current map servers to the wireless internet map service, and analyzed the request/response structure of the map servers which have different operation characteristics in order to allow our middleware to fully utilize the functionalities of the map servers. The middleware we developed is composed of .NET-based XML Web Services: it has a lightweight module for image map and a map representation module for choropleth map, symbol map, chart map, etc. This mapping middleware is a broker between mobile client and generic map server, and supports .NET clients and Java clients as well. Its component-based interoperability grants the extensibility for the wireless internet dedicated map servers of the future in addition to the current generic map servers.

최근에 많은 기업들은 XML 메시지 기반의 분산 환경에서 이기종 간의 표준으로 자리잡고 있는 웹 서비스를 도입하여 B2C 뿐만 아니라 B2B에 거쳐서 기업과 기업간 동적인 비즈니스를 수행하고 있다. 하지만, 웹 서비스의 도입이 성공적으로 이루어지기 위해서는 차별화된 서비스 품질을 보장해 주어야 한다. 현재 대부분의 웹 서비스에서는 메시지에 대하여 차별화를 두고 있지 않으며, 기존의 웹 서버들은 웹 서비스 제공자와 사용자간에 체결된 서비스 수준 계약에 대한 품질 요소들을 적절하게 반영하지 못하고 있다. 본 논문에서는 차별화 서비스에 사용되는 응용 수준에서의 적합한 품질 요소를 분석하고, 이러한 품질 요소를 이용하여 웹 서비스 메시지를 처리하는 프로세스에 대하여 서비스 수준 계약을 최대한으로 만족시키기 위하여 동적으로 우선순위를 할당할 수 있는 스케줄링 기법을 제안한다.

OLAP(On-line Analytical Processing)은 데이터를 다차원적으로 집계하여 그 결과를 온라인으로 사용자에게 제공함으로써 고부가가치 창출에 사용되는 비즈니스 인텔리젼스 기술 중의 하나이다. 질의 처리 시간 제약 조건을 만족하기 위해 OLAP 시스템들은 다차원적 집계 결과를 미리 계산하여 저장해 둔다. 이 때 저장되는 데이터를 OLAP 큐브(cube)라고 하며, 데이터의 분석은 주로 큐브를 브라우징하면서 이루어진다. 본 연구에서는 웹 서비스를 통해 큐브를 브라우징할 수 있는 ‘웹 OLAP 큐브 브라우저(WOCB)'를 개발하였다. WOCB는 본 연구팀이 개발한 웹 서비스 기반의 OLAP API인 XMLMD를 사용하여 개발되었으며, 웹 서비스를 통해 전송되는 OLAP 큐브 데이터를 XML, HTML, 엑셀, 그래프 등의 다양한 형태로 검색할 수 있는 기능을 제공한다. 본 연구 결과는 이기종 플랫폼 환경에 분산되어 있는 OLAP 서버들을 통합할 때 하나의 컴포넌트로 사용될 수 있다는 장점을 갖는다.

IHWA 는 분리개발 된 객체 컴포넌트를 통합함으로써 새로운 응용 시스템을 작성할 수 있는 CBSE(Component Based Software Engineering)기법을 바탕으로 한, 웹 기반 정보 저장/검색의 전형적 모델을 제공하는 소프트웨어 시스템이다. 현재 본 연구팀은 IHWA 시스템의 적용 사례로서 e-business 를 위한 쇼핑몰을 구축하고자 검색, 지불, 운용분야의 모듈들을 S/W 컴포넌트로 개발 중에 있다. 본 논문에서는 그 중, IHWA 의 검색분야에서 상품정보를 보다 효율적으로 수집하고 사용자에게 양질의 정보를 제공하기 위해 필수적으로 요구되는 정보 수집 서비스의 구조에 대하여 설명하고, 특히 비 정형화 된 XML 웹 소스에서의 정보수집 방법에 있어 현재 진행중인 연구에 대하여 설명 하고자 한다.

서비스 지향 아키텍쳐(SOA: Service Oriented Architecture)는 기업의 모든 컴퓨팅 자원을 서비스제공 및 사용체계로 전환하게 함으로써, 복잡하고 다양한 시스템간의 유기적인 결합과 IT 자원의 활용율을 극대화시킬 수 있는 프레임워크이다. SOA 시스템을 구현하기에 가장 적합한 체계로써, 웹 서비스 표준이 제시되고 있는데, 이는 웹 서비스가 서비스 기술, 발견, 활용에 있어 SOA의 기본 사상을 충분히 반영하고 있기 때문이다. 웹 서비스의 현실적 적용을 위해 가장 중요한 요소는 웹 서비스의 품질보장이며, 이를 위해 OASIS 국제표준기구의 WSQM 기술위원회에서는 WSQM(Web Service Quality Model) 스펙을 제시하였다. WSQM은 웹 서비스 품질요소와 품질관계자, 그리고 그들간의 품질행위를 추상적 관점에서 모델링하고 있다. 여기서, 특히 품질요소는 웹 서비스의 품질 상태를 직접 표현한다는 측면에서 가장 중요한 항목이라 할 수 있다. 하지만, WSQM에서는 모델링에 중점을 두고 있으므로, 현실세계에서 웹 서비스 품질요소의 값을 구체적이고, 표준화된 형태로 표현하기 위해서는 웹서비스 품질기술언어와 같은 XML 형태의 정규화된 형태가 제시되어야한다. 본 논문에서는 이를 작성하기 위한 기본 개념과 이를 적용한 웹 서비스 품질기술언어의 구성항목에 대해 설명하고자 한다.

웹서비스는 XML기반의 표준인 SOAP, WSDL, UDDI를 이용하여 인터넷을 통해 기능을 제공해 주는 서비스 기반 아키텍처의 대표적 기술이다. 웹서비스의 개수가 많아지고 종류가 다양해짐에 따라, 요청자의 요구사항에 맞는 웹서비스를 선택하는 것이 중요하게 되었으며, 여기서 웹서비스의 선택 시 QoS(Quality of Service)는 중요한 기준이 된다. 하지만 웹서비스의 QoS는 동적으로 변하고, 이로 인해 요청자의 QoS요구사항에 만족하지 않는 웹서비스가 되기도 한다. 본 논문에서는 요청자의 QoS요구사항에 적합한 웹서비스를 찾고, 웹서비스의 QoS변화로 인하여 웹서비스를 동적으로 변경하는 프레임워크를 제안한다. 그리고 웹서비스를 동적으로 변경하는 경우에 필요한, 각 웹서비스의 인터페이스 적응 및 기존 작업의 보장에 대한 해결방법도 함께 제시한다.

웹서비스는 표준 프로토콜인 HTTP를 이용하기 때문에 방화벽의 제약이 없어서 어디서나 실시간으로 통신하여야 하는 모니터링 시스템 특성상 꼭 필요한 기술이다. 또한, XML로 기술된 SOAP 메시지는 플랫폼 독립적이고, 시스템 확장과 통합에 유리하다. 본 논문에서 구현한 웹모니터링 시스템은 웹서비스를 이용하여 설치가 용이하고, 인터넷을 통해 원격지의 태양광 발전 시스템을 관리, 감시하는데 제약이 없으며, 신재생에너지 산업 통합에 적용될 수 있다.

Context-awareness techniques in ubiquitous computing environment provide various services to users who need to get information via the analysis of collected information from sensors in a spatial area. Context-awareness has been increased in ubiquitous computing and is applied to many different applications such as disaster management system, intelligent robot system, transportation management system, shopping management system, and digital home service. Many researches have recently focused on services that provide the appropriate information, which are collected from Internet by different kinds of sensors, to users according to context of their surrounding environment. In this paper, we propose an abstraction model to manage the large-scale contextual information and their metadata which are collected from different kinds of in-situ sensors in a spatial area and are presented them on the web. This model is composed of the modules expressing functional elements of sensors using sensorML(Sensor Model Language) based on XML language and the modules managing contextual information, which is transmitted from the sensors.

For the successful promotion about the NGN (Next Generation Network), centralized network control and management technology is required to guarantee QoS and Traffic Engineering. This paper describes SNMP. Web Services and Network Open Interface based connection management scheme which can be used in centralized server based network in which the control plane is separated from transport plane. We also constructed platforms about each of these connection management schemes and performed comparing and analyzing the performance of connection setup delays.

Recently, Open APIs are getting attention with the advent of Web 2.0. Open APIs are used to combine services and generate new services by Mashup. However, the growing number of available Open APIs raises a challenging issue how to locate the desired APIs. We automatically build ontologies from WSDL, WADL, HTML, and their underlying semantics. The key ingredient of our method is a technique that clusters input/output parameters in the collection of API methods into semantically meaningful concepts, and captures the hierarchical relationships between the terms contained in a parameter. These semantic ontologies allow search engines to support a similarity search for Open APIs based on various protocols such as SOAP, REST, JavaScript, and XML-RPC, and significantly improve the quality of APIs matching by the clustering and hierarchical relationships mechanism.
