Metadata is a general notion of data about data to improve data sharing and exchanging by definitely describing meaning and representation of data. However, metadata has been created in various ways and It caused another kind of heterogeneity problem named metadata heterogeneity problem. Recently, the research on metadata gateway approach that allows metadata heterogeneity is being more actively progressed. However, the existing commercialized systems that have been implemented with the metadata gateway approach are dependent on a metadata schema. In this paper, we propose a message conversion system which separates the mapping information from the mapping rules between heterogeneous metadata schemas. The proposed system dynamically manages standardized data elements by applying ISO/IEC l1179. Therefore, the proposed system provides the set of standard data elements to create consistently metadata of new databases and provides a fundamental resolution to the metadata heterogeneity problem.

Plain old Web Services came true a services integration with use the XML that will be able to define a platform-independent document format in basic document format. Hut, the XML document decreases the efficiency of the whole application program with connects frequently in relatively slow communication media like network environment, embedded system or use the resource limited small-sized instrument like mobile. In this paper, we implemented the algorism of Fast Infoset, which can convert XML into Fast XML using the Fast Inoset method and PER encoding rules in ASN.1 and constructs Test Bed. Also, it is compared with the existing pure XML message method in difference of process performance after encoding SOAP messages of XML basis when constructing web service.

PC, Notebook, PDA, Cellular telephone, Smart phone 등 많은 형식의 인터넷 단말기가 사용되고 있지만, 인터넷 상에 존재하는 많은 그래픽 요소들은 이러한 단말기의 형식에 많은 제약을 받고 있다. 또한 사용자가 원하는 형태로 직접 변형하는 것이 어렵고, 그래픽 부분 요소의 재사용이 불가능하다. 본 논문에서는 차세대 마크업 언어로 각광받고 있는 XML(Extensible Markup Language)의 그래픽 표준인 SVG(Scalable Vector Graphic)를 이용하여 어떤 단말기에서도 같은 형식으로 디스플레이 되고 사용자가 원하는 형태로 이미지의 수정 및 부분 요소의 재사용성을 놀인 웹 캐릭터 빌더(Builder)를 설계 및 구현하였다. 연구 결과를 이용하면 에이전트 상의 웹 캐릭터 혹은 웹 상에서 일어날 수 있는 어떠한 컨텐츠에도 사용할 수 있는 기술을 구현한 수 있을 것이다.

Recent business environments require a company to communicate frequently with other companies. This makes it essential to use XML (extensible Markup Language) documents. Especially in e-Business environments, change management of documents is important to record and trace the history of the documents. It is also important to reconstruct a certain version of documents that are exchanged among companies. In this paper, we propose a new method of storing a document by detecting changes automatically and reconstructing the document version when a user requests. A prototype system is implemented on top of a workflow system. Our approach provides efficiency of storage space and convenient management of documents.

최근 IEC는 변전소 자동화 시스템의 국제표준인 IEC 61850을 기반으로 하는 풍력 발전단지의 원격 감시 제어를 위한 통신시스템 표준인 IEC 61400-25를 발표하였다. 본 논문에서는 가상의 풍력 발전 통신 시스템을 SISCO 사의 "MMS-EASE Lite" 개발 도구를 사용하여 풍력 발전의 원격 감시 제어를 위한 서버와 클라이언트 간의 MMS 통신 서비스를 구현한다. 또한 IEC 61400-25 기반의 웹 인터페이스 구현을 위하여 뛰어난 확장성을 가진 XML(Extensible Markup Language, 확장성 생성 언어) 언어를 사용하여 풍력 발전단지의 논리 노드(Logical Node)를 구성하고, 원격 감시를 위한 웹 인터페이스를 구현하는 방법을 제안하고 실제 인터넷 환경에서 검증한다.

네트워크 사용자들의 다양한 요구를 수용하고 신뢰성이 있는 서비스를 제공하기 위하여 많은 통신 사업자들은 SLA(Service Level Agreement)를 제공하고자 하고 있다. 통신 사업자들은 다양한 네트워크 서비스를 제공하고 있으며 각 네트워크 서비스에 대한 SLA를 제공하기 위한 SLA 시스템은 유연한 구조를 가져야 한다. 이에 .NET 기반에서 SLA 서비스 제공에 필요한 기능들을 설계하고 내/외부 정보 송수신을 위하여 XML(extensible Markup Language) 문서를 사용한다. 이런 구조에서 내부 모듈간 혹은 외부 시스템과의 정보 송수신을 담당하는 IB(Information Broker)라는 모듈을 정의하였다. IB가 수신하는 다양한 형식의 XML 문서를 SLA 시스템 내부에서 사용하는 공통 형식으로 변환하여 사용해야 하며 이를 담당하는 XML 문서 변환 기능에 대하여 본 논문에서 논의하고자 한다.

XML 기반 접근제어 기술(extensible Access Control Markup Language, XACML)의 목적은 인터넷 상의 접근제어 서비스를 위한 다양한 제품들 및 그 제품들의 서로 다른 환경들 사이에서 일관되게 적용할 수 있는 권한부여(authorization) 정책을 제공하고, 그 정책을 통하여 기존의 다양한 환경 및 f.#식을 가진 접근제어 제품들에 상호운영성을 제공하기 위한 것이다. XACML의 구성은 접근제어를 위한 XML 기반의 언어로 접근제어 정책(policy) 언어와 요청/응답(request/response) 언어로 되어 있으며 OASIS(Organization for the Advancement of Structured Information Standards)에서 표준화가 진행중이다. 정책 언어는 누가 언제 무엇을 할 수 있는 지를 기술하는 접근 제어 정책들을 표현하는 데에 사용되며, 요청/응답 언어는 특정 접근이 허용되는 지에 대한 질의를 표현하거나 그 질의에 대한 응답을 기술하는 데에 사용된다. 본 논문에서는 XACML의 대한 기술 소개와 표준화 등의 기술 동향을 분석한다.

컴퓨터를 이용한 인터넷의 발전으로 웹 코스웨어의 교육에 응용하려는 많은 사람들이 지속적으로 증가되어가고 있다. 이는 인터넷 이용자들이 쉰 상에서의 원격교육에 관한 필요성이 커지고 있으며, 이를 실세계에 다양한 방법 이용하여 보다 효율적인 교육을 위해 다양한 교육 툴들이 연구되어지고 있다 인터넷을 이용한 웹 코스웨어의 교육은 시공간을 초월하여 여러 곳에 떨어져 있는 학습자들의 자기 주도적인 학습목표를 달성시키기 위한 목적으로 개발 및 구현되었다. 그러나 이를 사용하기 위해서는 사용자의 시스템이 정보를 제공하는 서버와의 정보 교환을 위해 통신이 항상 서로 교류하고 있는 상태를 유지해야하고, 사용자가 새로이 갱신된 학습정보를 접속하기 위해서는 서버에 항상 찾아가 정보를 찾아 접속해야만 갱신된 정보를 확인할 수가 있었다. 본 연구는 이를 반영하여 XML(extensible Markup Language)을 기반으로 한 웹 캐스팅기법으로 웹 코스웨어를 구연하였으며, 이를 적용하기 위해 CDF(Channel Definition Format)형식을 사용하였다. 채널을 사용하여 학습자의 자율적으로 채널을 선택하면 새로이 갱신된 정보가 자동적으로 학습자의 시스템에 저장되도록 구현하였다.

인터넷의 사용 증가로 정보의 양은 기하급수적으로 증가하고 있으며 웹 데이터의 표준인 XML의 데이터 표현의 유연성으로 인해 EDMS(Electronic Document Management Syste), ebXML(e-business extensible Markup Language)등 웹 기반의 전자문서를 이용하는 XML를 문서 교환 및 표준 문서 형식으로 도입하고 있는 실정이다. 이런 XML문서들을 저장관리 하기 위해 XML전용 Database도 현재 많이 연구되고 있다. 하지만 이런 XML전용 Database들은 관계형 데이터베이스보다 실용성이 떨어지는 점들이 많아 XML과 관계형 데이터베이스 매핑에 대한 연구도 활발히 진행중이다. 본 논문에서는 $C{\sharp}$을 이용하여 XML과 관계형 데이터베이스 간의 매핑을 위한 모듈을 개발하였으며, XML의 element와 관계형 데이터베이스의 필드를 상호 매핑시켜 줌으로 인해 XML문서의 element를 정확하게 저장, 관리 할 수 있다.

Event logging plays increasingly an important role in system and network management, and syslog is a de-facto standard for logging system events. However, due to the semi-structured features of Common Log Format data most studies on log analysis focus on the frequent patterns. The extensible Markup Language can provide a nice representation scheme for structure and search of formatted data found in syslog messages. However, previous XML-formatted schemes and applications for system logging are not suitable for semantic approach such as ranking based search or similarity measurement for log data. In this paper, based on ranked keyword search techniques over XML document, we propose an XML tree structure through a new data modeling approach for syslog data. Finally, we show suitability of proposed structure for semantic retrieval.
