Structure-based Functional Discovery of Proteins: Structural Proteomics

  • The discovery of biochemical and cellular functions of unannotated gene products begins with a database search of proteins with structure/sequence homologues based on known genes. Very recently, a number of frontier groups in structural biology proposed a new paradigm to predict biological functions of an unknown protein on the basis of its three-dimensional structure on a genomic scale. Structural proteomics (genomics), a research area for structure-based functional discovery, aims to complete the protein-folding universe of all gene products in a cell. It would lead us to a complete understanding of a living organism from protein structure. Two major complementary experimental techniques, X-ray crystallography and NMR spectroscopy, combined with recently developed high throughput methods have played a central role in structural proteomics research; however, an integration of these methodologies together with comparative modeling and electron microscopy would speed up the goal for completing a full dictionary of protein folding space in the near future.

  • To develop a business system of enterprise, there are so many problems such as increasing development time, cost, expanding network traffic, extension cost of network, and efficiency deterioration. In this paper, we propose the web application development tool based on XForms that is standard that can come up with solution problems of existing web program. This tool applied concept and specification of XForms to development environment. And it can efficiently implement X-internet.

  • Robotic manipulators have become increasingly important in the field of flexible automation. High speed and high-precision trajectory tracking are indispensable capabilities for their versatile application. The need to meet demanding control requirement in increasingly complex dynamical control systems under significant uncertainties, leads toward design of intelligent manipulation robots. This paper presents a new approach to the design of neural control system using digital signal processors in order to improve the precision and robustness. The TMS32OC31 is used in implementing real time neural control to provide an enhanced motion control for robotic manipulators. In this control scheme, the networks introduced are neural nets with dynamic neurons, whose dynamics are distributed over all the, network nodes. The nets are trained by the distributed dynamic back propagation algorithm. The proposed neural network control scheme is simple in structure, fast in computation, and suitable for implementation of real-time, control. Performance of the neural controller is illustrated by simulation and experimental results for a SCARA robot.

  • Zinc-phosphate glasses에 B$_2$O$_3$를 도입하여 borate, phosphate, boro-phosphate networks가 혼재되어 있는 highly cross-linked structures를 형성시켜 Phosphate glasses의 화학적 안정화를 검토하였다. Raman 측정 결과 B$_2$O$_3$와 P$_2$O$_{5}$는 잘 혼화된 polynary networks를 이루고 있으며, 이렇게 하여 증진된 구조적 cross-linking에 의하여 xB$_2$O$_3$.(1-x)Zn$_2$P$_2$O$_{7}$ glasses의 T$_{g}$, T$_{d}$는 증가하였고 동시에 CTE는 감소하는 결과를 가져왔다.

  • In this paper, we improve feedforward neural network performance by eliminating the effect of gross error using classifier structure. At first, we prove the output of classifier converges to the posteriori probability of each pattern given input x, $f_0({\theta}_1|x)$. And we apply filtering approach based on the robust statistics before reconstructing continuous output. The data distorted with noise can be rejected by this process. Finally, we suggest neurofilter structure. Simulation result shows that our structure yields consistent estimates even in the presence of noise.

  • 개인용 컴퓨터 성능의 발전과 각 사용자의 보편적인 Network 발전으로 인하여 무리없이 구현되는 3D 환경에 힘입어 이제는 Web에서 자연스런 가상현실과 3차원 환경의 구현을 위해서 Web3D가 확장 가능한 마크업으로 구성되어 X3D로 표현되게 되면 재집결성과 페이지 통합기능, 그리고 차세대 Web과의 통합문제의 관점에서 더 강력하게 효율적인 표현을 가능하게 한다. 이 논문에서는 이러한 X3D를 위한 Viewer의 설계를 위해 Java3D를 이용하여 최적화되고 Network상에서 강력한 성능을 발휘할 수 있는 3D Viewer의 구현에 대해 연구해 보고, 이를 더욱 발전시키는 역할을 할 수 있는 계기가 될 수 있다.

RIX-MAC: An Energy-Efficient Receiver-Initiated Wakeup MAC Protocol for WSNs

  • This paper proposes RIX-MAC (Receiver-Initiated X-MAC), a new energy-efficient MAC protocol based on an asynchronous duty cycling. RIX-MAC improves energy efficiency through utilizing short preambles and adopting the receiver-initiated approach, where RIX-MAC minimizes sender nodes' energy consumption by enabling transmitters to predict receiver nodes' wake-up times. It also reduces receiver nodes' energy consumption by decreasing the number of control frames. We use the network simulator to evaluate RIX-MAC's performance. Compared to the prior asynchronous duty cycling approaches of X-MAC and PW-MAC, the proposed protocol shows a remarkable improvement in energy-efficiency and end-to-end delay.

  • Control Chart is a powerful tool to detect that process is in control or out of control. CIM can have real effect when CIM involve automated quality control. A neural network approach is used for unnatural pattern detecting of control chart. The previous moving window method uses all unnatural pattern that is detected as moving time window. Therefore, It trains a large number of unnatural pattern and takes training time long. In this paper, the proposed method tests a small number of training unnatural pattern which modifies test data without repeating time. We shows that the proposed method has differences In training time and identification rate on the previous moving windows method. As results, we reduced training time and obtain the same identification rate.

  • In this paper, We analyze a capacity dimensioning and performance of the access line to the X.25 packet network when the AO/DI internet service is connected via D-channel. We show the forecasting methodology of the traffic demand of the D-channel internet services when the TDX-1OA switching system accommodates the target number of subscriber. Based on the traffic demand forecast, the required capacity of the access line is suggested to prevent bottleneck problem in the access line to the X.25 packet network.
