  • The world is changing rapidly as the Internet spreads and various smart devices appear. High-performance PCs and high-speed communication networks are rapidly spreading in every home, and all kinds of the internet sites are emerging. In particular, the high education enthusiasm of Korean parents adds to this, and the ratio of the internet users among teenagers is exploding every day. In the case of adolescents, most of them use the Internet for online games, indicating that online games are the main cause of the internet addiction. This study was conducted using a questionnaire for male and female high school students using the Internet, and demographic and sociological characteristics were used only as basic data. In this study, as much as parents, students and teachers think, the results of the internet addiction type analysis according to academic achievement in humanities high school students are to be investigated to determine whether internet use has an effect on academic achievement.

  • This study develops and evaluates a game-based lesson plan applied to the 'Food Culture' unit of a high school Home Economics class. We developed, implemented, and evaluated lesson plans for seven periods that contained 'the Korean food table setting card,' 'the world's food culture card,' and the procedure for cards games according to the Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation (ADDIE) model. 'The Korean food table setting card' consisted of 'the Korean food table setting order card' to easily understand 10 types of Korean traditional daily meals based on pictures and 'the Korean food table setting food card' to easily understand Korean traditional food based on 104 kinds of food picture and quick response (QR) code. 'The world's food culture card' consisted of 'the world's food culture quiz card' to help learners easily understand influential food culture formation factors, features of food culture, typical foods from 16 countries, and 'the world's traditional food card' to help learners easily understand typical foods from 16 countries through 63 kinds of pictures. Respective 'game guides' were also developed. High school students who studied the game-based Home Economics classes and who participated in the 'Food Culture' unit, could easily and enjoyably learn the food culture of Korea (and other countries), actively participate in learning activities, and understood the content of food culture. In addition, they evaluated that the game-based instruction was easy to remember with minimal memorizing.

In the past, the Third World rhythms were used only in rhythm-oriented countries and neighboring countries, and the rhythms between countries were combined in various and composite forms The changes in the global music market and the structure of the Korean pop music market show the same pattern in the local pop music genre. This study analyzes the phenomenon in which the Dembow rhythm and the tresillo rhythm, one of the rhythms of the Third World music, are concentrated in third-generation idol music, and notes that a certain number of combinations appear in rhythms and melodies. Moreover, this study identifies and compares the origin, the structure and the application cases of the Dembow rhythm and the tresillo rhythm by analyzing 12 songs of Korean third-generation idol girl groups. A game, as a sort of media like a movie, may be subjected to an ambivalent evaluation in accordance with the quality of each content. In this regard, it is necessary to have an active discussion about which game has desirable contents. Emotion which is an influential factor on interaction among players in game design needs to be approached from a social perspective. Also, based on social emotions associated with players, a significant relationship between emotional vocabularies and game emotions should be understood in comparison with social emotions within the game. based on social emotions regarding players As a result, social emotions within the game exhibited differences from the meaning of the terms. It is supposed that this result was caused by the ethical standards and differences in the real world. Accordingly, for qualitative enhancement of games, it is required to utilize the contents of this study, since emotions within the game are based on social emotions regarding players.

  • The Korean online gaming industry has seen rapid growth since the boom of information technology (IT) related industries, especially Internet and PC-bang or local area network (LAN) use, throughout the country. Online games are real-time games in which two or more players meet, compete, and cooperate in the same game space using the same communication network. Even though the growth rates of IT-related industries have recently slowed, the growth of the online gaming industry has increased, and Korean firms are expanding their businesses to countries all over the world. However, the online gaming industry is becoming an oligopoly, in which 4-5 leading companies occupy most online gaming markets. This situation presents a disadvantage to the Korean online gaming industry, since online players usually seek a diversity of online gaming contents and high quality online game services. Therefore, small- and medium-sized game developers must survive in this market by upgrading the quality of their online gaming services in an effort to provide differentiated goods and services in monopolistic competition markets. However, most venture companies in the online game industry, whether new or previously existing, are not able to obtain adequate financing. The objective of this paper is to examine the management environment for medium- and small-sized game developers in the Korean online gaming industry. By introducing the case of Grigon Entertainment, we try to identify the source of difficulty obtaining external financing for Korean venture firms in the online gaming industry.

  • Virtual reality is a technology that enables users to implement environments that are separate from the real world, and immersion is an important factor in implementing separate environments. However, a variety of studies have been conducted to solve this problem as the lack of awareness of the surrounding environment can lead to an unstable virtual reality game environment. Most studies are focused on solving problems through visualization. On the other hand, because visualizations are generally information that is not relevant to the space of virtual reality, research is needed on the effect of the degree of immersion in virtual reality to which they are applied. The guidelines are necessary because there are differences in individual tendencies and the factors that influence the immersion. In order to solve these two problems, we are going to conduct experiments on two systems: a survey based on the immersion tendency and a visualized communication of information about the surrounding environment. Through these results, we will measure the immersion of individuals and identify the impact of visualizations on virtual reality games by dividing them by their propensity to do so to present guidelines on the creation of virtual reality game environments based on the individual's tendency to engage in immersion.

  • MMORPG genre is based on the belief that all users in virtual world are equal. All users are able to obtain the corresponding wealth or status as they strive under the same resource, time. However, game bot is the main factor for harming this fair competition, causing benign gamers to feel a relative deprivation and deviate from the game. Game bots mainly form GFG(Gold Farming Group), which collects the goods in the game indiscriminately and adversely affects the economic system of the game. A general game bot detection algorithm is useful for detecting each bot, but it only covers few portions of GFG, not the whole, so it needs a wider range of detecting method. In this paper, we propose a method of detecting GFG based on items used in MMORPG genre. Several items that are mainly traded in the game were selected and the flows of those items were represented by a network. We Identified the characteristics of exchanging items of GFG bots and can identify the GFG's item trade network with real datasets from one of the popular online games.

  • Autonomous driving vehicle research demands complex road and lane understanding such as lane departure warning, adaptive cruise control, lane keeping and centering, lane change and turn assist, and driving under complex road conditions. A fast and robust road lane detection subsystem is a basic but important building block for this type of research. In this paper, we propose a method that performs road lane detection from black box input. The proposed system applies Random Sample Consensus to find the best model of road lanes passing through divided regions of the input image under HSV color model. HSV color model is chosen since it explicitly separates chromaticity and luminosity and the narrower hue distribution greatly assists in later segmentation of the frames by limiting color saturation. The implemented method was successful in lane detection on real world on-board testing, exhibiting 86.21% accuracy with 4.3% standard deviation in real time.

  • This paper explores a new hypothesis that can help to shed light on why the Japanese financial system has fallen into a unique transition failure in terms of its extraordinarily prolonged financial slump. An aspect of the continuing Japanese financial slump can be explained in terms of games that were being played between regulators and main banks as each tried to test the intentions and commitment of the other in a context where the traditional system of monitoring had collapsed together with its relationships of trust. Higher "audience costs" which prevented the restoration of appropriate relations between regulators and banks, associated with the internal collapse of trust in the system, can explain this unique transition failure.
