이 연구에서는 국립중앙도서관이 소장하고 있는 한국근대문학 자료를 대상으로 한국근대문학 주제가이드를 개발하였다. 이는 특수한 역사적 조건하에 존재하는 한국근대문학만의 특성을 반영하기 위해 한국근대문학 및 주제가이드에 대한 이론적 고찰, 이용자 인식조사, 국내외 사례조사 등의 과정을 통해 개발하였으며, 실제 데이터 구축 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 한국근대문학 저자 117명에 대한 인물정보 및 작품 23,731건에 대한 서지데이터를 구축하였다. 둘째, 1894년부터 1945년까지 해당 저자에 의해 생산된 원자료와 이를 바탕으로 현재까지 다른 저자에 의해 생산된 파생자료를 범위로 하였다. 셋째, 저자별, 장르별, 시기별 배열체계를 통해 관련정보의 군집화를 시도하였다. 이와 같은 연구결과는 관련 학계조차 당시의 작가에 대한 정확한 통계를 알 수 없을 만큼 복잡한 양상으로 존재하는 한국근대문학에 대해 체계화와 구조화를 시도하였다는 점에서 의의가 있다고 본다.

이 논문은 비교문학방법론의 쇄신과 재개념화의 방향을 제안한다. 비교문학은 서구중심주의와 식민주의의 흔적을 여전히 간직하고 있고 보편-특수라는 서구 근대학문의 인식론에 갇혀있으며 비교문학연구 방법론은 이러한 한계를 계속 유지하고 강화하는 수단으로 작동하고 있다. 비교문학은 기존의 등가 등치 관계에서 벗어나 디목의 "약한 이론," "긴 네트워크," 푸코의 "작가의 소멸" 등의 개념이 제시하는 방향, 즉 서구학문의 보편성 과학성의 한계를 드러내고 문학 담론의 역사성과 사회적 관계를 보여주는 방향으로 이동해야 하며 이를 위해 연구방법론의 변화가 담보되어야 한다. 인류학자 클리포드 기어츠의 "켜켜이 쌓인 묘사"라는 개념은 비교문학연구방법론을 재개념화하기 위한 유용한 출발점이다. 이 개념은 문화를 텍스트에 대한 해석들이 쌓아올리는 두께로 재정의하고 국민국가의 국가성을 다언어적 혼돈 위에 재설립하며 인문학의 과학성을 픽션화한다. 또한 근대학문의 체계화와 분류화, 추상화를 최대한 피하면서 과학성 합리성 보편성이라는 이름으로 행해지는 서구내셔널리즘을 문제화하고, 인간 삶과 그 의미의 풍부함을 충실히 드러내면서 문학담론을 더 '약하'고 더 '길'며 더 '두꺼운' 네트워크로 재개념화할 수 있도록 해준다.

Intrapulmonary teratoma is rare : only 30 cases have been reported in the world literature. We had experienced a case of benign intrapulmonary teratoma originated from anterior mediastinum associated with broncho-tumorous fistula, which was treated with En bloc removal of tumor and right middle lobectomy. Post-operative course was not eventful.

Primary intrathoracic liposarcomas are extremely rare tumors. 50 cases of mediastinal liposarcoma till 1977 have been recorded in the world literature, and 2 cases of pleural origin were reported in 1967. We report two cases, one is mediastinal origin and the other is pleural origin.

Universities are considered important actors and drivers of socio-economic development in the regional innovation eco-system. This article investigates the role Kenyan universities and research institutes play in the development of regional innovation eco-system in the context of triple and Quadruple helices. A model involving Government, Industry, Universities and Society (Public) linkages in the regional innovation eco-system and with Information and Communication Technology as an enabler is used as a framework for analysing the nature of linkages in Kenya. The article uses literature review and case study methods to examine how universities and research institutes can spur the development of the innovation eco-systems. The research question is: what is the role of Kenyan universities and research institutes in spurring innovation ecosystems? Six cases of Kenyan universities and research institutes are considered in the light of Government Policy on Science, Technology and Innovation (STI) which is underpinned in Kenyan constitution 2010. The study contributes to the understanding of how deep collaboration among universities, government, research institutes, Science Cities, local, regional, national and international players spurs the creation of world-class innovation ecosystems which can contribute to regional development in developing countries like Kenya.

Objective : To build a basis of a research strategy for development of Korean ginseng as a global competitive medical product in the world market by Korean Oriental medicine group. Methods : Survey of all literature or analysis reports about market patterns related to ginseng or ginseng products in Korea and in other countries. Results : Korean ginseng and it products have rapidly decreased in share of the world market since the 1980s, with Korean ginseng occupying just 3% of the Hong Kong ginseng market in 2005. While Korean ginseng has been satisfied with consumption within the large Korean market itself, it now has only 1% of world market share. Conclusion : A systematic strategy is needed to strengthen global competitiveness of Korean ginseng based upon development of novel customer-tailored ginseng products. In addition, experience and science-based research in the Oriental medicine field should be involved in the process.

In the previous KM (Knowledge Management) studies, it has been repeatedly pointed that CoP (Community of Practice) should be used as a platform for boosting up corporate innovative activities. Despite this, it is very rare to find relevant literature in which real-world cases are introduced showing critical success factors, implemented strategies, and objective analysis of results. In this sense, main objective of this paper is very timely- to introduce a real-world CoP case in which POSCO, world-leading steel company, sorted out creative CoP strategies to nurture knowledge-sharing activities to solve various kinds of problems at hand, and maintain appropriate level of knowledge circulation throughout all the working units of company. In a nutshell, POSCO has been successful in any measure in utilizing the creative CoP activities as strategic means to change the paradigm of innovation and extract fruitful outcomes from integrating three important individual activities such as work, learning, and innovation.

Robert Lowell is one of the major poets in the modern American poetic world. His major work, Life Studies, is a representative of confessional poetry. It presented American spiritual civilization and universality for life from the late 1950s to 1960s. It dealt with the subject of the poet's private life under the psychological pressure. Lowell described his distinctive vision of the relationship of painful world and suffering self in his poetry. An important feature of his confessional poems was the criticism on modern civilization by means of characterization. Life Studies was written as a kind of therapy to overcome his early trauma, as well as the social problems of contemporary Americans which Lowell was confronted with. Through his personal experiences, Lowell exposed and judged the collapse of traditional value and moral confusion in the society. Therefore, he is a poet who opened his own world of poetry with his poetic achievements.

This paper attempts to prove Dickens's hopeful view of the future in his last completed novel Our Mutual Friend. This novel has been usually regarded as one of the "dark" novels, "dark" in the sense of viewing social reality and the future negatively. However, although it has the dark descriptive color of society typical in Dickens's later novels, it still contains some elements that point to a better future. To prove this positive view of future, this paper will disentangle the intricate narrative structure of Our Mutual Friend and find out the true meaning of the dust--money. In addition, it will investigate how people react to dust(-like money). From a close study of several characters' lives, it will testify that the dark world of Our Mutual Friend, in the end, could be a world of regeneration, a world that will lead to a better future.

Europass was established in 2005 by the European Parliament and the Council of Europe as a single framework for language qualifications and competences, helping citizens to gain accreditation throughout the European Community. In addition, the 1996 Common European Framework of Reference for Languages: Learning, Teaching, Assessment (CEFR) provides a common basis for language syllabi, curriculum guidelines, examination, and textbooks in Europe. This framework describes the required knowledge and skills, the cultural context, and the levels of proficiency that learners should achieve. In combination, Europass and the CEFR provide employers and educational institutes with internationally recognized standards. This paper proposes that current trends such as globalization and international mobility require a similar approach to accreditation in Asia. As jobs and workers become independent of national boundaries and restrictions, it becomes necessary to educate students as multilingual world citizens, using standards that are accepted around the world. It is suggested, therefore, that assessment models such as Europass and the CEFR, along with successful language teaching models in Europe and Canada, present opportunities of adaptation for the Korean education system. Finally, rigorous teacher training to internationally recognized levels is recommended, if Korea is to produce a workforce of highly-skilled, plurilingual world citizens.
