This study aims to develop the occupational Korean language curriculum for the foreign seafarers working on the Korean coastal vessel. In the recent years, the employment of foreign seafarer has increased significantly to meet the shortage of the Korean seafarers. As the number of the mixed-crew vessels has increased, communication and cross-cultural awareness among different nationalities have emerged as an important issue. Therefore, the foreign seafarers are obliged to undergo Korean language training to help them in adapting to the Korean vessel according to the 'Guidelines of foreign seafarers management'. However, the time for language training is very short, and there are no systematically developed textbooks. Therefore it is essential to develop curriculum and textbooks for foreign seafarers to acquire training in fundamental Korean dialogues for their daily life and work on board. This study was carried out using the DACUM method to draw core tasks from various works and tasks on board. Firstly, the existing Korean language teaching materials for the foreign crew should be analyzed. Secondly, the job analysis committee should be organized based on the analysis. Then, the list of the tasks for the crew through the committee workshop should be prepared. Thereafter, a questionnaire survey should be carried out to identify the level of importance and frequency by the seafarers working on the coastal vessel. Finally, the core curriculum of the Korean language should be developed for foreign deck crews.

A Calculator-Based Laboratory (CBL) system was introduced to science teachers and their perceptions to its classroom application was assessed. A CBL survey instrument was responded by 54 middle and high school science teachers who undertook a three-hour workshop of science experiments with CBL system. There were significant differences in teachers perceptions to CBL system among gender, school level, school location, teacher's degree, and years of teaching in terms of learning CBL system, applicability of CBL system for science classrooms, and effects on science achievement. Male teachers showed significantly (p<.05) higher agreement to learning of CBL system and applicability for science classrooms than female teachers. Compared to middle school teachers, high school teachers showed significantly (p<.05) high interests in CBL applicability for science classrooms and perceptions that there will be an increase of science achievement. Teachers with 4-8 years of teaching experience also showed significantly (p<.05) higher interest toward learning CBL system and its applicability. It was concluded that science teachers perceived CBL system as a promising science teaching method in Korean middle and high schools. However, a science teacher inservice training program for CBL system should be developed in consideration of gender, school level, school location, and years of teaching.

This study aims to develop the NABI program, which can be applied to science education in school, to realize 'Science Education through Nature' for today's students. The first NABI program was developed based on the viewpoints of education and teaching methods of Nature-Study, and it was revised as the second NABI program through experts' workshop. The second NABI program was applied to 24 third-grade students of an elementary school. The possibility of applying the program to school science education was explored through the analysis of students' qualitative data, along with surveys that were completed by 24 students and 79 current teachers. As a result of applying the program, students were curious about and communed with nature. The program could also realize the learner-centered education and integration of subjects, science with literature and art. The students were interested and wanted to continually participate in the NABI program. The teachers' evaluation of the program deduced that the relationship between the program presenting Nature-Study ideologies could be applied to science education in school. In conclusion, it was found that the NABI program was well reflected in the scope of the Nature-Study, and it can be applied to science education in school. The NABI program proceeds in nine steps: 'Accepting - Choosing - Selecting the common subject - Ice Breaking - Making relationship - Observing - Scaffolding - Expressing - Sharing'. The NABI program is a good way to realize the essence of science education, 'Science Education through Nature', for today's students.

In this study, we investigated the characteristics of pre-service science teachers' curriculum design for lessons using self-generated analogy. Three pre-service science teachers at a college of education in Seoul participated in this study. After a workshop on lessons using self-generated analogy, they planned and demonstrated lessons. All of the teaching-learning materials were collected, and their lessons were observed and videotaped. Semi-structured interviews were also conducted before and after their lessons. The characteristics of lessons using self-generated analogy were analyzed in the perspectives of PCK. The analyses of the results revealed that they used various strategies to promote students' generating analogies. They lacked understanding of the stages of the lessons and the role of teachers. Although all of them considered assessment, they used limited assessment methods and assessment dimensions. Some actively considered students' misconceptions, and specifically anticipated analogies that students could generate. They determined topics for lessons considering various aspects such as the level of self-generated analogy and the characteristics of scientific conceptions. On the bases of the results, we suggest some educational implications for pre-service science teacher education.
This paper begins with the question, 'What is the life of women living in the South Korea and North Korea?'. The question is quite significant but not known well. In fact, there have been great differences between South and North-Korean societies since the partition of the Korean Peninsula. In this sense, the family life in women living in south and North Korea can not be exceptional. The task on which women in South and North Korea are currently facing is not only to overcome heterogeneity in such areas as politics, economics, and socio-cultural systems, but also to recover homogeneity we had shared for a long history before the partition. The difference in the ideology makes a difference to decide on a policy on the household work. It comes out of the socialization method of household work. In North-Korea, the collectivization of household work get a lot of accomplished in South-Korea. This made differences in the domesticity between South-Korea and North-Korea. So, the purpose of this study is to compare the domesticity in North-Korea and South-Korea to prepare for unification of North and South-Korea. To compare the family life in South-Korea and North-Korea, this study adjusts the focus of the socialization of household work. Ther is a great difference in the ideology between the two political systems. In the North korean society, in order to help women manage their 'the double role' for home and workshop, the socialization of housework strategy has been strongly recommended. But socialization of housework strategy has been proven to have a number of problems: the loss of family individuality, inhumanization of family, family's scattering, and a low quality. Therefore, this strategy has not been used widely. But, the collectivization of housework has been used widely. There are three types in the socialization of housework: the commercialism of housework(가사노동의 영리화), the collectivization of housework(가사노동의 집단화), and the public of housework(가사노동의 공공화). Otherwise, the commercialism of housework has been used widely in south korean society. Yet it is very far from North-Korean life due to a shortage of goods. As a result, the different idelogies result the different family life. The different family life is proven to the different socialization of housework. This is very significant. If the unification of North and South Korea is realized, the socialiation of housework can be used a strategies to overcome the differences of the South and the North.

Library and information research is often directed towards either the management of resources (e.g., the economics of resource management), their storage and retrieval (e.g., much information retrieval research), and the users of these resources (the whole area of information behaviour. However, the question that is less often asked is, "What research do librarians want to have carried out to help them in their work?" Clearly, some of the topics just mentioned will fall into the priority areas, but what do librarians actually perceive will be of use to them. There is a notion that a research-practice gap exists in the field and perhaps the reason for that is that researchers do not ask the practioners what research will be of value to them. To find an answer to this question on a global basis would, of course, be impossible - at least impossible without the level of funding that would be difficult to obtain from any source. However, it is possible to carry out research on a national level that could prove useful both to practitioners and to the library and information research community. This was the aim of a project, supported by the Svensk Biblioteksf$\"{o}$rening (Swedish Library Association), which was carried out in 2008/2009. Ideas on potential research projects were collected from librarians themselves, from discussion group archives and from the professional journals in a number of countries. These ideas were then grouped thematically and formed the basis of two rounds of a Delphi process to solicit the opinions of a panel of librarians in different sectors, recommended by their peers as 'expert' in their field. The Delphi process was concluded with a workshop involving a subset of the panel. This paper will report on the results of the investigation, which attracted a great deal of interest within the profession in Sweden, and will also reflect on issues that were ranked lowly in the investigation. For example, not a great deal of priority was given to topics relating to the development and use of technology: why was this? And would the same result be found in other countries? One major area of research interest was into the future of libraries and a topic of relevance here, especially for academic and research libraries, is the changing information behaviour of researchers: what, now, do researchers want of libraries? Clearly, technology is playing a role here, but digitized resources and the World Wide Web may not be the answer to every researcher's need. Research into libraries and research for libraries ought to figure largely in the profession's view of its aims, objectives and visions of the future: but for it to do so requires a recognition that the work will not be done unless researchers and practitioners come together to determine how to approach the future.
The dynamic nature of mechanization and automation to improve productivity and safety within logistics centers, has necessitated various studies to support efficient and safe working conditions for workers. However, accidents in the loading dock occur frequently as workers and forklift trucks operate within the same space. This research introduces cargo batch loading and unloading systems, which enable increasing productivity and safety through the use of mechanization and automation in the loading dock. To assist efficient operation of this new system, four pieces of general-purpose equipment or three pieces of dedicated equipment are deemed to be essential. Moreover, the floor area of the loading dock is designed to accommodate $256.28m^2$ and $207.00m^2$ for the general-purpose and dedicated systems respectively, in addition to the space allocated for equipment and additional space. The design of the loading dock considers the area of the loading dock as well as the cargo batch loading and unloading systems. Economic analysis, such as NPV, IRR, and PBT, were conducted in addition to sensitivity analysis on key variables.
The purpose of this study was to develop teaching modules related to Earth Science courses in order to enhance scientific inquiry skills of middle school students. A 'process skill-centered' module was developed to induce scientific process skills, while students explore specific scientific context. A module consists of several activities, and each activity focuses on a specific science process skill. Modules were designed such that the skills would improve depending on the completion of the module. To evaluate the effectiveness, field workshops for middle school science teachers were done twice. Science teachers, who were participants of the workshop, commented that the activities in each module were suited to enhance students' interest in science. They noted that scientific inquiry skills would be developed from each activity. Students responded that the activities in the modules were interesting, and it was a good experience to do them by themselves. Students were the focal point in class, not teachers. This enabled teachers to evaluated each student's achievement level, and provide a proper feedback. Hence, applying these modules in classes should enhance the students' scientific inquiry skills.
Purpose : Recently, the Recon Challenge at the 2009 ISMRM workshop on Data Sampling and Image Reconstruction at Sedona, Arizona was held to evaluate feasibility of highly accelerated acquisition of time resolved contrast enhanced MR angiography. This paper provides the step-by-step description of the winning results of k-t FOCUSS in this competition. Materials and Methods : In previous works, we proved that k-t FOCUSS algorithm successfully solves the compressed sensing problem even for less sparse cardiac cine applications. Therefore, using k-t FOCUSS, very accurate time resolved contrast enhanced MR angiography can be reconstructed. Accelerated radial trajectory data were synthetized from X-ray cerebral angiography images and provided by the organizing committee, and radiologists double blindly evaluated each reconstruction result with respect to the ground-truth data. Results : The reconstructed results at various acceleration factors demonstrate that each components of compressed sensing, such as sparsifying transform and incoherent sampling patterns, etc can have profound effects on the final reconstruction results. Conclusion : From reconstructed results, we see that the compressed sensing dynamic MR imaging algorithm, k-t FOCUSS enables high resolution time resolved contrast enhanced MR angiography.

Building industry clients are suggested to clarify requirements and needs properly at the pre-project stage. According to these they can develop options to meet their needs with considering their resources and business case. At this stage, they make decisions while professionals in the industry are not involving. This process is called client briefing at the pre-project stage. However, client briefing is not a discrete process only conducted at this stage; various clients briefings should be performed over a project lift cycle. The client briefing at the pre-project stage is more important than others as the value for the clients is clarified at this stage - they may not be satisfied for the project results even when the project is finished on time within budget if the value itself is incorrectly defined. Given that the client briefing is important as stated, this paper aims to review theory on client briefing focusing those at the pre-project stage. As a part of research, a prototype workshop for client briefing is held and findings from it are summarized. Finally, suggestions for conducting client briefing in Korea are presented in terms of directions of relevant research, systems in the industry and points that clients or client briefing consultants should consider.
