  • The objective of this study is to suggest DARE (Decision Alternative Ratio Evaluation) Method, which is usually using in VE(Value Engineering), as one of the evaluating alternatives techniques, especially deciding location. The process of solving location problem consists of 4 stages which are Data gathering and Confirming check list, Design of evaluating methodology, Evaluating, and Conclusion. In second stage which is the most important one among those, DARE method is adopted to solve location problem as a objective and scientific technique. The members who are participated workshop extremely agree to whole procedure of methodology and also their own conclusion through Workshop. This case study shows DARE method fits with select optimal location.

  • Multiprecision multiplication is the most expensive operation in public key-based cryptography. Therefore, many multiplication methods have been studied intensively for several decades. In Workshop on Cryptographic Hardware and Embedded Systems 2011 (CHES2011), a novel multiplication method called 'operand caching' was proposed. This method reduces the number of required load instructions by caching the operands. However, it does not provide full operand caching when changing the row of partial products. To overcome this problem, a novel method, that is, 'consecutive operand caching' was proposed in Workshop on Information Security Applications 2012 (WISA2012). It divides a multiplication structure into partial products and reconstructs them to share common operands between previous and next partial products. However, there is still room for improvement; therefore, we propose a finely designed operand-caching mode to minimize useless memory accesses when the first row is changed. Finally, we reduce the number of memory access instructions and boost the speed of the overall multiprecision multiplication for public key cryptography.

  • The aim of this study was to grasp demands of residents about floor plans. This study grasped needs of residents through small group workshop that is composed of housewives. The data from this was analyzed by the side of human behavior in residence space privacy, private space, territoriality, intimacy or social interaction, delightfulness. the major findings are as follows; floor plans of apartment separate of private and public space evidently. But each space has to have possible of extension and combination. It is supported by systematical storage and variable wall system.

  • To promote the inclusion of quality of life (QOL) end-points In clinical research on cancer, the National Cancer Institute (USA) sponsored a workshop on QOL assessment In cancer clinical trials In July, 1990. Experts In clinical trials and QOL research formed four working groups to Identify current areas of cancer treatment In which QOL end-points are most Important; to discuss methodologic problems In QOL assessment; to address common problems In Implementing clinical studies with QOL end-points; and to consider statistical Issues In design, Implementation, and data analysis. Recommendations made by the working groups are summarized in this paper.

  • The purpose of this study was first, to confirm of the key hypothetical concepts through the research of previous literature analysis results, and second, to Identify responses of various prospective consumers on key hypothetical concepts and the validity of the plan for improvement before construction was employed through the small group workshop. The participants in workshop were working housewives with 1 or 2 children, residing in an apartment of a net area of 25.7py. The materials used in the process were questionnaire, existing apartment floor plan, developing floor plan for universal apartment, small scale model, endoscopy images, computer simulation images, and recording equipment like audio recorder, video tape recorder, and camera.

  • I have analyzed four methods for revitalizing the Ibi district, a local community in Minami Awaji City in Hyogo Prefecture, using Awaji tile, a traditional product. The first analysis is of a workshop to think about the revitalization of the community using Awaji tile. The second is an evaluation of using Awaji tile in the construction of green spaces and the renewal of existing buildings. The third analysis is on the distribution of terracotta for plants to all the residents of this district and the construction of art objects using Awaji tile at the seashore and by the entrance area of a highway interchange. The fourth analysis is of the results of information sharing by a newsletter and a website. Finally, I gave questionnaires to workshop participants. As a result, visible, completed products of these efforts were evaluated positively, but more effort is required related to the newsletter and website. Overall, I could verify the compounded possibilities for revitalization of the community using Awaji tile as promoting regional industry, activating the community, and improving the landscape.

  • Student independent project activity is beneficial for enhancing many kinds of abilities, e.g., team working, collaboration, communication, presentation, creativity, leadership, and so on. More than ten project teams actively perform every year in the Center for Innovation and Creativity Development of The University of Tokushima. The project management workshop was planned in order to make project activity successful. In this workshop, the team members studied the importance of holding a common objective among them and of making a clear plan for achieving the activity. They practiced brainstorming method and KJ method and experienced a PDCA cycle. The team activity will be fruitful on the basis of the project management method.

  • This study is about the residential district structure of Gyeryong ceramic art village in Gyeryong ceramic art village is a residential district for potters who succeed to and develop Gyeryong ceramic art. The external appearance of Gyeryong ceramic art village seems like being fixed and simplified. The creative space is either detached or attached to a living room. The relation between inner and outer space is that is directly connected to a garden. In the characters of major spaces, the formation of a workshop is the most important part of a house. And, an exhibition equipment and an oven are connected to the workshop. According to the study, a house, which is designed without an architect's help is simple and has a different form from a house designed by an architect.

  • The purpose of this study is to assess and develop effective MIS planning method by applying the CSF method. With the comparative analysis of the Rockart's basic concept of CSF and the examples of the corporations which employed CSF methodology, a new CSF method more suitable to Korean business environment is proposed and applied to another company for evaluation. The new CSF methodology consists of three steps. The first step is to preexamine the business conditions. The second step contains an Introductory Workshop, interview with the managers, survey questionnaire, Focusing Workshop, and decision of the priorities for system development. The third step is a real development of an information system out of the first and second steps. As a result of this study, it is found that revised CSF method can induce top management to participate more in the activities of information system development and that it can make top management to focus on the critical area. The fulfillment of the information requirement out of the enhanced MIS planning will lead to more successful management activities.

  • The purpose of this paper is to 1)examine the current state of cultural studies in Korea with a focus on recent discourses about its 'crisis' and 2)attempt to find some ways out of these dilemmas in drama/theatre/performance studies. As Raymond Williams redefined 'culture' as 'a whole way of life,' performance studies has expanded the boundary of 'performance' from traditional performing arts onto almost everything that can be studied and analyzed 'as' performance. Performance is not only the final product on display but a whole process that includes training, workshop, and rehearsal of culture. According to Richard Schechner, workshop and rehearsal are the most critical and creative 'liminal' phases that allow traditional knowledge and alternative challenges to coexist in conflict and intentionally delay the final decision by putting itself in a perpetual process. From this view, this essay attempts to find an-no matter how limited and temporary-answer to or a possible exit from political and theoretical aporias of cultural studies.
