This study aims at suggesting a series of process which envisions the colors of working clothes which is the working environment most adjacent to workers around the workers in the industrial spots. In order to do so, based on the photos of the workplaces, it was made an analysis on the relationship of between the colors of the workplaces as a background and the colors of the working clothes in the color characteristics. The color planning of the working clothes was suggested as a result of analyzing the colors and carried out the evaluation. The results are as follows; First, The colors of working environment and the colors of the working clothes were slightly different but in general, the spectrum was from mid value to low chroma. Secondly, the color modelsuggested was evaluated as a result, every question got a good review and especially, in the shipbuilding company, the working environment of which was the most unpleasant, every question was given a highest score of more than 4.50. The study would serve as the beneficial information for formulating the safer and more pleasant working environment in industrial workplaces as well as a basic material for the subsequent research on colors.

This study examines the wearing conditions of working clothes according to the working environment and working processes at machinery, automobile, shipbuilding industry sites. It also investigates the relationship between the wearing sense of working clothes and the overall comfort according to work processes. The hazardous working environment was high in the order of the shipbuilding industry, machinery, and automobiles. The findings on the harmful overall work environmental factors were the noise, heavy dust, and noxious fumes, respectively. In general, the satisfaction with the wearing performance of working clothes was low especially with regard to sweat absorbency, sweat permeability, body protection and covering, and the work motion suitability. In respect of the correlation between the overall comfort and the wearing sense of working clothes, the satisfaction was decreased in the order of movement comfort, sensual comfort, and physiological comfort.
In our modern society along with high speed economic growth and improvement of living conditions and through concentration of people in cities cars became essential necessities for people living in modern society. Due to social and economic conditions and for the need of recycling of materials and as a countermeasure for waste of materials importance of car service is stressed. In this connection need for improvement of working clothes which are suitable for safety and working efficiency in a difficult working environment is essential. However most of working clothes now being sold in the market are produced without consideration of ergonomic aspects of wearers of working clothes. For this reason there is need for basic research on development of working clothes which improve safety and comfort for working of car service workers. Accordingly in this study this author carried out research on fitness, level of satisfaction and dissatisfaction, suitability for movement and level of demand for improvement in working clothes with focus on workers at car service firms and direction for its improvement was explored. This study is intended to provide basic data for development of functional pattern of working clothes for car service workers in future.
This study aims to improve the uniform functionality of the workers who work in Electric Technology Division, Korea Railroad Corporation. Former study of questionnaire survey was taken to examine the current state of wearing working clothes for the workers. Based on the results of the former study, an experimental clothes, the functionality of which has improved in terms of design, materials, and patterns, was created, and existing working clothes and the treated experimental clothes were compared through simulation wearing evaluation comprising appearance, activity adaptability, quantitativeness, and on-site adaptability evaluation comprising appearance and activity adaptability. The followings are the results of the study: Simulation wearing evaluation is composed of 5subjects and 11experts specializing in costume, and as a result of evaluation the experimental clothes were evaluated superior to the existing working clothes in all items. On-site adaptability evaluation was conducted by workers in the Electric Technology Division, who are the subjects in this study. In that evaluation, the experimental clothes were also evaluated superior to the existing working clothes in all items. While the five subjects who participated in the simulation wearing evaluation move, the quantitative evaluation measured the distance of location transfer of the back length in the jacket and the distance of location transfer of the back waist in the trousers. As the distances in the experimental clothes were measured shorter than the distances in the existing working clothes, the subjective evaluation results are objectively supported.
The purpose of this study is for finding the demand and perception about color situation of the working environment including work places and working clothes according to the workers in the machinery automobile shipbuilding companies. Data were collected by questionnaire surveying 679 workers. The collected data were analysed through frequency, mean, cross tabs analysis by SPSS for windows 17.0. As a result, most of the workers responded that they were not satisfied with the current working environment and the colors of their working clothes. However, the workers held a perception that influence that the colors of the working environment has on their psychology and safety or the colors' role was relatively significant. And they had a very positive expectation for the effect of the working clothing's color planning. The study would serve as the beneficial information for formulating the safer and more pleasant working environment in industrial work places as well as a basic material for the subsequent research on colors.
This study aims to examine the current state of wearing working clothes for the workers who work in Electric Technology Division, Korea Railroad Corporation, to identify inconveniences and problems in relation to the working clothes, and based on the examination, to find a way to improve them, creating a design of summer working clothes that will have more advanced functionalities including activity adaptability and comfort. Survey was conducted through direct observation and interview for Electric Railway Power Team. A total of 352 copies were collected and analyzed. Based on the results of questionnaire, an experimental clothes, the functionality of which has improved in terms of design, material, and patterns, was created. The followings are the results of the study. Easy activity, design, and comfort are required as functions of working clothes. In design related questions, the survey shows high dissatisfaction in the color of existing working clothes, and preferred colors are dark blue and gray. With regard to the method of zipping up the front side, zippers are preferred. Although many pockets on the existing working clothes have high satisfaction, dissatisfaction to pocket format is high. In material related questions, lower dissatisfaction is indicated for the sense of touch, ventilation and sweat absorption. It is shown that the areas frequently polluted include the lower part of pocket, the edges of sleeves and elbow areas on the jacket. The frequently polluted area of the trousers include knee areas, the edges of pants and buttocks. With regard to the areas where the workers felt discomfort when motion, discomfort is highly indicated with armpits and back on the jacket. Also discomfort is highly indicated with crotch, buttocks and knee areas on the trousers. In material related questions, lower dissatisfaction is indicated for the sense of touch, ventilation, sweat absorption.
The purpose of this study is to research the actual condition of working environment, working clothes and personal protective equipments on workers at a construction site in winter. The one to one interview by questionnaire was performed with 33 males and 2 females workers of a construction site in Daegu at $1.3^{\circ}C$ air temperature, 28% R.H., 4.7m/sec air velocity. The questionnaire consisted of 21 questions including 4 personal characteristics questions, 12 working environment/performance questions and 5 working clothes/personal protective equipments questions. It was modified from the original questionnaire developed by Finnish Institute Occupational Health. We found that physical stress of workers increased and the ability of performance decreased. The workers felt the coldest at hands/fingers, feet/toes and the face part of cheek, nose and ears. They rarely wore thermal clothing for winter and answered that the thermal gloves for winter did not provided enough warmth. Even if the workers recognized the necessity of personal protective equipments for their safety, they did not wear them for efficiency of working performance. These results will be useful elementary materials for development of working clothes and personal protective equipments from the viewpoint of improving both working performance and comfort.
This study is largely aimed at presenting ways to improve the working clothes and help companies create more positive images by suggesting designs of the clothes, which take into accounts the corporate image, symbolism, function and aesthetic appreciation through introduction of companies' CIP. And, it is significant to propose working clothes development condition and process with introduction of companies' CIP(Corporate Identity Program : work that systematize and simplify visually images which companies or public bodies have) A way of this study was made up with working clothes design development process which a student planned. First of all, this study looked into Company D's Corporate Identity Program(CIP) to develop the design that corresponds with the characteristics of the company's favorite design, working environment and demands of the employees. And, then, the study conducted a survey of 30 employees and intensive interviews with heads of four teams including the Safety Team, the Working Clothes Management Team and the General Affairs Team to find out the requirements of the clothes and the characteristics of the company. Based on them, the concrete image that the company pursues and the direction of design were set up through image positioning. In the end, three different concept designs were presented through image-mapping and the concrete design of each item was developed. A total of seven items including upper and lower garments (a jacket and trousers) for the spring-summer seasons, upper and lower garments (a jumper and trousers) for the winter season, cold-protecting vest and winter clothes (a coat and trousers) were presented in accordance with the three concepts. One of the concept designs, which was selected through evaluation by employees of Company D, was produced as a sample and then the final design was chosen after a discussion attended by the head of each team and representatives of the employees. Based on the aforementioned design planning, one design was selected from each of the three concept designs for production. And each of these was requested to special production enterprise and manufactured. Following the result of study, by looking into a case of a practical joint design project between a university and a company, this study suggested ideas for business to improve working clothes through the academic-industrial cooperation and presented conditions and process of design development. And, this study also aims to examine the feasibility of academic-industrial cooperation based on the cases in which enterprises and universities staged joint projects to develop working clothes.
This study was to develope the functional work clothing for livestock farmers. Major demanding performances for livestock work clothing are anti-soil and anti-bacterial properties. On surveys, functional fabrics that have anti-soil, anti-bacterial and waterrepellent performances were developed and the work clothing that have adaptability to body movements were manufactured. The designs of livestock working clothes were two piece and one piece with rubber bade in waist. The thermal responses of subjects wearing the winter working clothes for stock farming worker were measured in the climate chamber($17^{\circ}C$, 40% R.H.). The main results were summarized as follows: Total body weight loss was smaller and the mean skin temperature was higher in developed clothes than the market product. Clothing micro-climate of developed clothes was lower than the market clothes. Subjective sensation did not have significant differences. From the results of various evaluation, developed garments for livestock workers showed better efficiency than the market product.
This study intended to propose a guideline designed to secure safety by developing a functional color design for the color of the ordinary working clothes worn in the actual industrial settings of the machine industry in national industrial complexes in Korea. For this, a total of 6 sets of actual working clothes were produced for test, using 2-color arrangements with blue, of varying brightness and chroma for top and bottom, in relation to the visibility proven in preceding studies and evaluated in the machine industry. Blue was suggested the best proper color for machine industry by previous studies. For the material of working clothes, a total of 111 swatches were collected from the Dongdaemoon Fabric Market, and they were analyzed for color values. A total of 6 materials were used to produce working clothes for testing, which represented high brightness, medium brightness, low brightness, high chroma, medium chroma, and low chroma. Clothes were tried at the industrial settings for machine industry in a national industrial complex located in Gyeongsangnam-do and the expert satisfaction evaluation was performed based on items related with safety. As a result, higher satisfaction was shown when the brightness difference of top and bottom clothes was greater, and for chroma, relatively higher satisfaction appeared when the chroma of both top and bottom clothes was high. To secure satisfaction for both brightness and chroma, it is possible to deduce that the 2-color arrangement using the strong tone with high brightness and high chroma and the dark tone with somewhat low brightness and high chroma would be effective. Top and bottom clothes in the same color with high chroma had high visibility but had somewhat low evaluation for harmonious arrangements. This indicated that the arrangement of vivid colors for top-bottom clothes is inappropriate.
