Background and Objectives: The influence of music training on different areas of the brain has been extensively researched, but the underlying neurobehavioral mechanisms remain unknown. In the present study, the effects of training for more than three years in Carnatic music (an Indian form of music) on the discrimination ability of different areas of the brain were tested using P300 analysis at three electrode placement sites. Subjects and Methods: A total of 27 individuals, including 13 singers aged 16-30 years (mean±standard deviation, 23±3.2 years) and 14 non-singers aged 16-30 years (mean age, 24±2.9 years), participated in this study. The singers had 3-5 years of formal training experience in Carnatic music. Cortical activities in areas corresponding to attention, discrimination, and memory were tested using P300 analysis, and the tests were performed using the Intelligent Hearing System. Results: The mean P300 amplitude of the singers at the Fz electrode placement site (5.64±1.81) was significantly higher than that of the non-singers (3.85±1.60; t(25)=3.3, p<0.05). The amplitude at the Cz electrode placement site in singers (5.90±2.18) was significantly higher than that in non-singers (3.46±1.40; t(25)=3.3, p<0.05). The amplitude at the Pz electrode placement site in singers (4.94±1.89) was significantly higher than that in non-singers (3.57±1.50; t(25)=3.3, p<0.05). Among singers, the mean P300 amplitude was significantly higher in the Cz site than the other placement sites, and among non-singers, the mean P300 amplitude was significantly higher in the Fz site than the other placement sites, i.e., music training facilitated enhancement of the P300 amplitude at the Cz site. Conclusions: The findings of this study suggest that more than three years of training in Carnatic singing can enhance neural coding to discriminate subtle differences, leading to enhanced discrimination abilities of the brain, mainly in the generation site corresponding to Cz electrode placement.
The total number of Korean restaurants using delivery applications has substantially increased from 7.6% in 2018 to 11.2% in 2019. In 2020, the gross sales in the food delivery service market reached approximately 17 trillion won; this amount is virtually six times that in 2017 (i.e., 2 trillion won). Meanwhile, the annual average death toll of motorcycle riders increased by 3.5%, whereas the number of deaths due to other traffic accidents decreased by 8.2%. Consequently, the foregoing has become a critical social problem. Despite the continuing increase in the number of delivery riders due to the rapid expansion of the delivery industry, no appropriate safety management system has been established. Moreover, the government is experiencing difficulties in assessing the exact situation because of the absence of competent authority. In this study, fundamental data on the characteristics of delivery work and motorcycle accidents were collected through surveys and interviews; then, the influencing factors of traffic accidents were analyzed. Different influencing factors were identified: work experience as a rider; number of deliveries; whether to accept delivery requests in transit; manner of accepting delivery requests; and traffic law violations, such as speeding (for faster delivery) and running a red light. Because the motorcycle delivery industry has a relatively low job-entry barrier (i.e., special qualifications are not required), the riding skills of riders must be improved, and delivery companies must be technically developed to achieve a safe working environment. The results of this study can be utilized as fundamental data for system development or structural improvement of the delivery industry.

This study attempted to investigate the effect of counseling experts' job stress and resilience on psychological well-being. To this end, a survey was conducted on counselors working in counseling-related occupations across the country through a Google questionnaire, and data from a total of 250 people were analyzed. For data analysis, descriptive statistical analysis and correlation analysis between major variables were performed. To verify the causal relationship, it was analyzed using the IBM SPSS Statistics Version 24.0 program. Results, There were no factors affecting psychological well-being in demographic variables (gender, age, education, counseling experience, and supervision frequency). Among the job stress factors, social expectations for counselors had a relatively large impact, the resilience factor was found to have a positive effect when self-acceptance of life was active. The results of this study can be used as basic data for various measures to increase the psychological well-being of counselors.

This study attempted to identify factors affecting the clinical nurse's medication safety competence. Data collection was conducted with 154 nurses working in two tertiary general hospitals. Data were analyzed using by t-test, ANOVA, Pearson correlation coefficient, and stepwise multiple regression analysis with SPSS 26.0 program. As a result of the study, medication safety competence had a statistically significant correlation with problem-solving ability and self-efficacy. The factors influencing medication safety competences were in order of self-efficacy, problem-solving ability, work pattern, and current site work experience, which together accounted for 64.7% of the total variance. Therefore, in order to improve the clinical nurse's medication safety competences, prioritizing the development of a program to enhance self-efficacy and problem-solving ability is required.
Objective: This study identifies the difference among the heights of a chair's backrest (High, Mid, No), the biomechanical changes chair users undergo over time, and the variables that can measure musculoskeletal disorders, eventually providing information on the appropriate type of backrest. Method: Eleven healthy subjects in their 20s and 30s who had no experience with musculoskeletal disorders or surgical operations within the last 6 months participated in this study. Computer typing tasks were randomly designated and performed according to the type of chair backrest, and evaluation was performed for Flexion-Relaxation Ratio (FRR) analysis after the computer typing tasks. This study used eight infrared cameras (sampling rate: 100 Hz) and nine-channel electromyography (sampling rate: 1,000 Hz). ANOVA with repeated measures was conducted to verify the results, with the statistical significance level being α = .05. Results: Although there was no significant difference in craniovertebral angle (CVA), this study showed time and interaction effects depending on the height of the backrest (p<.05). When working without the backrest, the head-spine angle was lower compared to the chairs with backrest, based on the computer work. As for the head angle, the higher the back of the chair was, the less the head flexion and the body angle became, whereas the body flexion became less when there was a backrest. In addition, the body flexion increased over time in all types of backrests (p<.05). The muscle activity of the upper body tended to be high in the high backrest chair. On the other hand, a lower muscle activity was found with a low backrest. Conclusion: These results show that a chair is more ergonomic when the body angle is correctly set without bending and when it is supported by a low backrest. Accordingly, this study determines that the backrest affects shoulder and neck musculoskeletal disorders during typing and that medium-height backrest chairs can help prevent musculoskeletal disorders, contrary to the expectation that high-backrest chairs are preferable.
Objectives: In this study, dental hygienists' perceptions of dental hygienists' communication and general public's mutual perceptions were compared to seek development directions and plans for improving dental hygienists' communication skills, and furthermore, communication to increase satisfaction between the general public and dental hygienists. This study was conducted to provide basic data on the development and direction of competency improvement education. Methods: From April 1 to April 31, 2023, a survey was conducted through an online link for the general public with dental treatment experience and dental hygienists currently working at dentists in Gwangju and Jeonnam. A total of 258 questionnaires were collected. Independence t-test and paired t-test were performed using SPSS Statistics (ver. 21.0; IBM Corp., Armonk, NY, USA) Results: As a result of analyzing the accuracy of the communication ability of dental hygienists, from the dental hygienist's point of view, general publics perceived that the dental hygienist's underestimation of their own communication ability was actually lower than the dental hygienist's underestimated communication ability. From the general public's point of view, dental hygienists overestimated their communication ability. In fact, dental hygienists perceived their general publics as higher than general public's overestimated communication ability. Conclusions: Based on these results, it is necessary to develop education and operate various educational programs to improve the communication skills of dental hygienists, and to rethink educational accessibility to increase participation in education and to publicize the professionalism of dental hygienists.

Entry of women into the higher positions or professions in the fields of entertainment and performing arts has been expanding gradually. Especially, women working in these fields in New York show a dynamic growth and development. As a result, women surviving in a male-dominated world have raised their voices for their human rights to live free from violence, sexuality, slavery, discrimination, etc.. In the entertainment and performing arts, women have been shouting their voices for a long time through the theme, performance process, and the shows. Their voices influenced politics, society, and culture as a whole. The 'MeToo' movement is the result of condensation from their voices. In other words, it is the result of women's voices against sexual harassment or assault in these fields. Starting in Hollywood, the 'MeToo' movement was rapidly spread out online and strongly supported by female leaders and activists in the world. It had a strong influence on the fields of theater and entertainment industry in Korea as well. By recognizing this phenomenon, the contents of this study suggest how and what to continuously increase the value of the 'MeToo' movement in Korea's entertainment industry.
Background: Most developed countries are working to improve their universal health coverage systems. This study investigates regional disparities in unmet healthcare needs and their causes in South Korea. Additionally, it compares the unmet healthcare needs rate in South Korea with that of 33 European countries. Methods: The analysis incorporates information from 13,359 adults aged 19 or older, using data from the Korea Health Panel. The dependent variables encompass the experience of unmet healthcare needs and the three causes of occurrence: "burden of medical expenses," "time constraints," and "lack of care." The primary variable of interest is the region of residence, while control variables encompass 14 socio-demographic, health, and functional characteristics. Multivariable binary logistic regression analysis, accounting for the sampling design, is conducted. Results: The rate of unmet healthcare needs in Korea is 11.7% (95% confidence interval [CI], 11.0%-13.3%), which is approximately 30 times higher than that of Austria (0.4%). The causes of unmet healthcare needs, ranked in descending order, are "lack of care," "time constraints," and "burden of medical expenses." Predictive probabilities for experiencing unmet healthcare needs and each cause differ significantly between regions. For instance, the probability of experiencing unmet healthcare needs due to "lack of care" is approximately 10 times higher in Gangwon-do (13.5%; 95% CI, 13.0%-14.1%) than in Busan (1.3%; 95% CI, 1.3%-1.4%). The probability due to "burden of medical expenses" is approximately 14 times higher in Seoul (4.1%; 95% CI, 3.6%-4.6%) compared to Jeollanam-do (0.3%; 95% CI, 0.2%-0.4%). Conclusion: Amid rapid sociodemographic transitions, South Korea must make significant efforts to alleviate unmet healthcare needs and the associated regional disparities. To effectively achieve this, it is recommended that South Korea involves the National Assembly in healthcare policy-making, while maintaining a centralized financing model and delegating healthcare planning and implementation to regional authorities for their local residents-similar to the approaches of the United Kingdom and France.

Background: The turnover rate of nurse aides in Taiwan is high. However, the predictors of turnover behavior in the newly employed are still unclear. Objective: To examine the predictors of turnover behavior in newly employed licensed nurse aides. Methods: A longitudinal study design was used and subjects were newly employed certified nurse aides from a nurse aid training association in Taiwan. A total of five questionnaire surveys were conducted. The questionnaire was mainly used to collect information on turnover behavior, personal socioeconomic background, workplace psychosocial hazards, worker health hazards, and musculoskeletal disorders. Results: A total of 300 participants were recruited in the study. Cox regression analysis results showed that short working experience (hazard ratio [HR] = 0.21, p < 0.01), work as non-home nurse aides (HR = 0.58, p = 0.01), low monthly salary (HR = 0.68, p < 0.01), high work mental load (HR = 1.01, p = 0.01), low workplace justice (HR = 0.97, p < 0.01), high workplace violence (HR = 1.60, p < 0.01), high burnout (HR = 1.01, p = 0.04), poor mental health (HR = 1.06, p = 0.04), and high total number of musculoskeletal disorder sites (HR = 1.08, p = 0.01) contribute to a higher risk of turnover. Conclusion: The results indicated that employment period, work as a home nurse aide, monthly salary, work mental load, workplace justice, workplace violence, work-related burnout, mental health, and total number of musculoskeletal disorder sites are predictors of turnover behavior in newly employed certified nurse aides.
