A Cost-Based Interior Information Management for an Apartment Housing Project (원가기반의 공동주택 마감재 정보관리 방안 연구)

  • Korea's construction industry experienced no difficulty managing the costs of finishing work items in the apartment housing field thanks to the uniform specification and the standardized costs of finishing work items. Finishing work items have continuously become more high class and differentiated, which has caused the costs of finishing work items to rise. This study identified problems with the cost management when planning finishing work items and choosing their alternatives based on the current process applied to the planning stage of finishing work items. It also found problems with the information management of finishing work items including design, cost, and work information that took place in bulk. Based on the identified problems, the design, cost and work information of finishing work items was integrated so that they could management the costs and information when planning finishing work items and selecting their alternatives. Then a cost-based information management process was suggested for finishing work items by improving each of the project cost management elements. Finally, an information model for finishing work items was built by studying the ways to integrate the information hierarchy and library of finishing work items.

  • The article reviews the issue of formation of information culture of social work bachelors in the process of their professional training. The main internal / external factors that determine the need for the information culture formation of social workers-to-be have been identified. To determine the levels of information culture formed in bachelors of social work criteria and their indicators have been substantiated. The model of information culture formation in BSW has been developed and implemented in Ukrainian universities under the following pedagogic conditions: organized informational environment; interconnection between general and professionally-directed courses; curriculum includes course directed on IC formation. The model contained interconnected components: aim - to achieve higher level of information culture formed; specific principles; content, interactive methods and forms of organization of educational process, methods of control and correction; components of information culture. The implemented mastered learning procedure has contributed to the leveling up of information culture formed in social work bachelors.

Comparison of Display Visual Effects in Control Task under Limited Reaction Time (반응시간제한시 제어작업의 디스플레이 시각효과 비교)

  • Work environments have been changed with the advent of new technologies, such as computer technology. However, human cognitive limits can't pace up with the change of work environment. Designing human-computer system requires knowledge and evaluation of the human cognitive processes which control information flow workload. Futhermore, under limited reaction time and/or urgent situation, human operator may the work stress, work error and resultant deleterious work environment. This paper evaluate the visual factors of major information processing factors(information density, amount of information, operational speed of speed)on operator performance of supervisory control under urgent(limited reaction time)environments which require deleterious work condition. To describe the work performance int the urgent work situations with time stress and dynamic event occurrence, a new concept of information density was introduced. For a series of experiments performed for this study, three independent variables(information amount, system proceeding speed, information density) were evaluated using five dependent variables. The result of statistical analyses indicate that the amount of information affected on all of five dependent measure. Number of failure and number of secondary task score were influenced by both amount of information and operational speed of system. However reaction time of secondary task were affected by both amount of information and information density. As a result, the deleterious factors for the performances seemed to be a scanning time to supervise each control panel. Consequently, a new display panel was suggest to reduce operator work load for scanning task showing better operator performance.

  • Smart work refers to enhancing the efficiency of work by utilizing smart devices. Smart work improves business productivity by improving business productivity of companies, reducing costs, but there is a threat to various information protection. To operate telecommuting, mobile office, and smart work center, hardware and software are needed to support various network resources, servers, and platforms. As a result, there are many vulnerabilities to security and information protection that protect information resources. In this paper, we analyze the smart work environment for smart work service and analyze vulnerability for smart work information protection through analysis of IOS27001 and KISA-ISMS. We have developed requirements for information protection requirements for users and service providers. We have developed a solution for information security protection for smart work environments such as common parts, mobile office, telecommuting, and smart work center for security threats and weaknesses per smart work type.

  • There have been strong arguments that the best organizational type for the information society is a network organization which is intelligent and learning-oriented as well as has problem solving capacities rather than a traditional passive organization which strictly follows standard operating procedures. In this perspective, integrated information work environment emerges as attractive work environment for the 21st century. Integrated information work environment is defined as an integrated electronic environment that is available to and readily accessible be each employee and is structured to provide immediate, individualized on-line access to the full range of information, software, guidance, advice and assistance, data, images, tools, and assessment and monitoring systems to permit job performance with minimal support and intervention by others. Case study was performed to measure the productivity improvement by implementing integrated information work environment in life insurance company. The results show that there is a number of indications of strong work productivity improvements.

Mental workload has been an important factors in designing modem work environments such as human-computer interaction. Designing man-machine systems requires knowledge and evaluation of the human cognitive processes which control information flow workload. To describe the work performance in the urgent work situations, with time stress and dynamic event occurence, a new concept of information density was introduced.   • In recent years, apartment finishing work items have increasingly become more upscale and diverse, and the kinds have increased in exponential numbers. A huge amount of information about finishing work items is produced and changed in the stages of planning finishing work item design and selecting alternatives in the early days of an apartment project. However, there are many problems raised by the poor information management of finishing work items. Thus this study suggested a cost-based information management system to manage information about finishing work items generated in the initial stage of an apartment project. In order to build the suggested system, the investigator designed an information management system based on the concepts and organization of system. And after setting a scenario of selecting finishing work items by conditions including the initial information values of finishing work items, information management for each alternative, and cost fix or free condition, I implemented and applied a prototype of an information management system for finishing work items among the participants including the project manager, interior designer, and builder.

  • Crack in Pavements have been continually increased a by water penetration Therefore, the cracks can result in deterioration of the pavements that could be extremely dangerous fro road users. Creak sealing work performed in outdoor is very dangerous, costly and labor intensive. To slove these problems, automated crack sealing systems have been developed. it Would be needed that work information related to crack sealing must be gathered in an effort to used for existing or future crack sealing work. Furthermore, work information related to crack sealing could be utilized in analyzing work productivity and condition. The primary objective of this study is to propose a PDA and Web-based system for work information management of crack sealing which enables to effectively interchange work information between head office and fields, and to accurately collect work information. Finally, it is anticipated that the effective use of the developed PDA and web-based system would be able to effectively share work Information, measure productivity, estimate costs as well as plan future work schedule.

  • Urban transit operation corporations perform repetitive work to investigate the EMU, electric multiple unit, by some fixed maintenance cycle. The quality of maintenance work usually depends on workers' know-how. Though some information to support the maintenance work is digitalized and provided to workers, it is not great help to them because of its non systematic structure. The information includes drawings, manuals, work results, work history, fault history, etc. The maintenance workers want to access the information anytime anywhere, and make an effect to promote the efficiency of maintenance for EMU. But it is difficult to achieve that without some structured information system which is able to use in work area. So we develop maintenance information system for EMU for about 4 years from 2002 to 2005. In this paper we present the configuration and characteristics of this system, and the results of the evaluation test. We install the system in two depots, Changdong and Jichuk, belonged to SeoulMetro to evaluate its efficiency and estimate its economic benefits.

  • Work environment has been changed as the development of new techknowledge such as computer industry. The more new techknowledges, the more changes in our work conditions. But our cognitive limits can't pace up to the change of work environment. As a result, rapid work transfer occurs frequently, which increase work stress, work error and deleterous work performance. For many changes, this paper analyse the effect of work performance when the information used in mental work is changed as a sudden impact during dexterous work conditions. When the information impact is intruded in works, performances are reduced, but the react time does not respond sensitively then cognitive process time. So it is recommended to refer the cognitive time as a index of performance when mental work is included.
