  • Purchasing through Internet shopping mall has more uncertainty compared with offline shopping mall. Previous studies have presented that trust plays a role of reducing uncertainty and increasing purchasing intention. In this study, we suggest that third-party assurance and word-of-mouth contribute to the formation of trust. In addition, we also propose that ease of product evaluation plays moderating roles in the relationships between third-party assurance, word-of-mouth and trust. For this study, we collected sample data from two groups consisting of online shoppers purchasing the search goods and experience goods categorized by type of ease of product evaluation. Empirical results show that word-of-mouth and third-party assurance have different effects on trust in two groups. The third-party assurance has a stronger impact on trust in online shopping group of the search goods than in the experience goods, while word-of-mouth in the online community has a stronger impact on trust in online shopping group of the experience goods than in the search goods. We expect that this result will provide researchers and managers who are interested in trust formation factors in online shopping mall with useful theoretical and practical implications.

  • The purpose of this research is to study the influence over confidence and Word-Of-Mouth (WOM) effect in the acceptance process of WOM by information characteristics(consensus, vividness, and message neutrality) of individual cosmetic blog, reflecting that it is widely spreading over the public. Online survey for the consumers using such blogs was performed to collect data(N=200), and credibility analysis through Cronbach-${\alpha}$ and Structural Equation Model(SEM) analysis using AMOS 18.0 were performed. The analysis results are as follows; First, vivid information and neutral message increase WOM effect through the improvement of consumers' credibility whereas information consensus doesn't positively influence over credibility. Second, the examination of a moderating effect by type of cosmetics demonstrated that the consumers of basic cosmetics have most confidence in vivid information, and those of color cosmetics do more confidence in neutral message. Therefore, there is a difference in the credibility factor of online WOM depending on the type of cosmetics consumption so that differentiated information provision strategies for cosmetics groups should be established based on it.

  • In this paper, we analyse online word-of-mouth and Korean box-office sales data based on kernel regression method. To do this, we consider the regression model with mixed-data and apply the least square cross-validation method proposed by Li and Racine (2004) to the model. We found the box-office sales can be explained by volume of online word-of-mouth and the characteristics of the movies.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the impacts of two different kinds of interactivity, such as user-to-user and user-to-media interaction, on the relationship between SNS motivation and online word of mouth (WOM). An online survey was conducted with SNS users in Korea. Using the convenience-sampling method, 300 surveys were collected and 295 were used in the actual analysis after excluding data with careless responses or missing values. Hypotheses were tested using Structure Equation Model (SEM) and path analysis by using AMOS22. The results indicate that four different SNS motivations (self-expression, relational, fun, and browsing motivation) have a partially significant positive effect on perceived user-to-user and user-to-media interaction in SNS. Although both user-to-user interactivity and user-to-media interactivity were found to have a significant effect on online word of mouth, by comparing the standardized regression coefficients in these relationships, it was found that user-to-user interactivity has a greater effect on online WOM than user-to-media interactivity. These results show that the motivated SNS users want to express their desire to communicate with other users in contrast than their desire to learn media functions when motivated SNS users reveal their personalities, knowledge, and abilities. Theoretical and managerial implications are discussed.

For this, it made an analysis of the communication level with 302 mini homepage users. The result showed that the communication level of information exchange has a positive effect on the purchase experience of food service products significantly, showing that the higher its level is, the more frequent its experience is. And it showed that the communication level of relationship retention has a negative effect on the purchase experience of food service products significantly, showing that the higher its level is, the less frequent its experience is. These results demonstrated the utility that can increase word-of-mouth communications through information exchange and relationship retention, given that they are used with the object based on the kinship of information exchange and relationship retention as word-of-mouth communications, and that they lay stress on the connection with other people in the mini homepage.

  • This study proposes a research model that examines the impact of perceived technological innovativeness on curiosity and fun, which influence revisit and word-of-mouth intentions for an augmented reality store. Data was collected from 189 female consumers in their 20s and 30s living in the Seoul metropolitan area using a convenient sampling method. The results of the study were summarized as follows. First, perceived technological innovativeness was found to have positive effects on curiosity and fun. Second, curiosity had a positive relationship with fun. Third, curiosity had positive effects on revisit and word-of-mouth intention toward the augmented reality store, while fun had no effect on revisit and word-of-mouth intention. Fourth, curiosity mediated the relationship between perceived technological innovativeness and revisit intention, and between perceived technological innovativeness and word-of-mouth intention. The introduction of innovative technology in the offline store leads to a positive response through curiosity rather than fun; therefore, it is suggested that fashion companies develop and utilize augmented reality content that stimulates more curiosity.
